Parīzes olimpiskās spēles ir gandrīz beigušās, vēl burtiski pēdējie daži medaļu komplekti šodien, 11. augustā, tiek sadalīti dažos sporta veidos, bet Latvijas delegācija ir noslēgusi savu dalību olimpiskajās spēlēs un varam rezumēt, kā mūsējiem ir gājis. Diemžēl šoreiz Latvijas sportisti neizcīnīja medaļas. Otrās olimpiskās spēles pēc neatkarības atgūšanas, kad nav izdevies izcīnīt medaļas. Arī pirms astoņiem gadiem Rio Latvijas delegācija palika bez medaļām, tomēr kopā skaitot, skatoties statistiski, vairāk bija rezultātu, finišu labāko desmitniekā. Šajās spēlēs arī tādu ir diezgan maz, līdz ar to statistiski varam teikt, ka laikam jau sportiski sliktākās spēles Latvijas delegācijai 21. gadsimtā. Tālākejošus secinājumus gan šajā raidījumā neizdarīsim - ko tas nozīmē, ko tas parāda? Bet varam jau aptuveni nojaust aptuveni, ko tas liecina. Bēdas varam vienīgi remdēt ar to, ka ar igauņiem, piemēram, nav medaļu, lietuviešiem gan četrus jau un tas ievērojami pārspēj gan mūsu, gan arī igauņu iespēto.  Bet šajā raidījumā vairāk lielajā intervijā paskatīsimies uz to, kā šīs olimpiskās spēles ir pagājušas Latvijas delegācijas sportistiem veselības ziņā. Kā viņus gatavoja, kā viņus pēc starta aprūpēja, ja tas bija īpaši nepieciešams, ja bija kādas traumas vai varbūt bija nepieciešama kāda speciāla atjaunošanās metode. In Hawaiian mythology, the malevolent spirit known as Kaupe is known to call out to people at night to scare them into committing suicide. According to legend, he once ruled the Nu'uanu Valley and devoured people on both Oahu and Maui. When he went back to Hawaii, he abducted the son of a high chief and brought him back to Oahu so that he could be sacrificed.After they reached Oahu, the High chief learned about a Kahuna who taught him about incantations and a prayer he could use against Kaupe, who was chasing them. At the heiau in Lihue, the father saved his son, and when Kaupe chased them with the latter repeating the prayer, causing the pair to run faster. As Kaupe chased them, the father and his son hid behind a rock. On reaching Hawaii, the father and son killed Kaupe. The spirit of Kaupe continues to linger on Oahu.The mythological creature is described as an enormous man with large claws and a muscular build. It has tribal tattoos all over its body, and its sharp teeth are used to scare potential attackers and prey. Šoreiz Piespēle Pekinas olimpisko spēļu atskaņās - tās noslēdzās pirms nedēļas un visi Latvijas delegācijas pārstāvji atgriezušies no Ķīnas. Par dažādajiem izaicinājumiem Ķīnā parunājam ar Latvijas Olimpiskās vienības ārstu Jāni Kaupi. Studijā atgriezies Māris, kurš iepriekšējos trīs raidijumos piedalījās, atrodoties sacensību arēnās Pekinā, kā arī pilsētas lidostā. Aizvadītās nedēļas spilgtāko notikumu topā šoreiz esam spiesti runāt par politiku un sportu. Krievijas iebrukums Ukrainā, protams, ietekmējis arī sporta sacensību norisi, sportistiem, funkcionāriem atsakoties doties uz Krieviju vai sacensties ar Krievijas sportistiem. Latvijas sportiste vēl 2 kilometrus līdz finišam pat bija vadībā, taču beigu beigās 1,3 sekundes zaudēja Anjai Veberei no Šveices. Eidukai šajā disciplīnā labi sekmējās arī Pekinā, kur Eidukai 23. vieta.   Motosportists Pauls Jonass traumas dēļ tomēr nepiedalīsies pasaules motokrosa čempionāta pirmajā posmā. Jau iepriekš zinājām, ka viņam ir rokas cīpslas iekaisums, taču atlabšana nenotika tik labi, cik cerēts - ārsti atzina, ka sportistam nepieciešama neliela operācija, citādi no šīs problēmas tikt vaļā neizdosies. Operācija tik tiešām ir neliela un atlabšana prasa aptuveni 10 dienas. Pauls prognozē, ka jau nākamnedēļ Itālijas trasē Mantovā viņš būs ierindā. Teodors Bļugers atgriezies Pitsburgas "Penguins" treniņos. Hokejists traumu guva janvāra beigās, kad pret viņu spēka paņēmienu izpildīja Vinipegas “Jets” aizsargs Brendons Dilons. Hokejists intervijās vietējiem medijiem atzina, ka pirmā nedēļa bijusi visgrūtākā, pilnībā dzīvojot bez cieta, košļājama ēdiena, bet komandas biedri palīdzējuši gan psiholoģiski, stāstot, kas un kā gaidāms, gan arī palīdzot ar šķidru ēdienu un dažādiem kokteiļiem jeb smūtijiem. Starptautiskā Olimpiskā Komiteja pirmo obligāto dopinga kontroli ieviesa ziemas olimpiskajās spēlēs Grenoblē 1968. gadā un tā paša gada vasaras olimpiskajās spēlēs Mehiko. Interesanti, ka no 86 dopinga testiem, kas tika veikti 1968. gada ziemas olimpiskajās spēlēs Grenoblē, Francijā, neviena sportista analīzēs šīs vielas neatrada, savukārt Mehiko tika veikti 667 dopinga testi, un vienam atlētam šīs aizliegtas vielas konstatēja. Kā viens no skumjajiem stāstiem par dopinga postošo ietekmi uz sportisku veselību ir zināms kā bijušās Vācijas Demokrātiskās Republikas lodes grūdējas Heidi Krīgeres gadījums. Viņa jau kopš 16 gadu vecuma lietojusi anaboliskos steroīdus tik lielā daudzumā, ka jaunās meitenes ķermenī notika pamatīgas hormonālas izmaiņas. Jāpiebilst, ka jaunietei pati nezināja, ka viņai tiek doti šie aizliegtie līdzekļi.
