Maintaining Your Balance when ‘Drinking from a Fire Hose' Today's topic was inspired by a post in the Ninja Facebook Group from Kelly Gordon of Kienlen Lattmann Sotheby's International Realty in Bedminster, New Jersey, asking, "What do you do to keep everything in harmony?" Acknowledging this common issue of how implementing the Ninja system can result in the scaling up of your business, potentially leading to burnout and frustration, Matt and Garrett respond to Kelly by sharing practical tips on maintaining harmony and balance while running a successful business. Drawing upon their own experience working with clients, they reveal the value of creating systems, focusing on one thing at a time, and prioritizing tasks in achieving this balance, and provide examples of how to manage time and delegate tasks effectively. Our hosts also delve into hiring the right executive assistant, and explore the title and expectations that come with the role, noting that a good executive assistant can become the face of the business, leading to increased client satisfaction. They also emphasize the importance of training and management to create a more efficient system, freeing up the business owner's time to focus on income-producing activities. Ultimately, finding the right person for the job is key, and the benefits of a well-trained and effective executive assistant can be significant. We all know that following the Ninja system is going to grow your business - today's episode demonstrates exactly how you can manage this increased activity, so that you can continue building momentum. Welcome to the Sex With My Ex podcast!Your hosts are Kitty and Johnson, and we can't wait to dive head first into all of the delicious, intriguing, funny and fun things that are sex. This week Kitty & Johnson are joined by the extremely intelligent and gorgeous Dr. Aditi Paul who is a mixed-methods researcher, professor and author based in New York City. She uses her multi-disciplinary background in computer science and communication studies to examine the impact of using human-centred technologies like social networking sites and online dating services.Aditi's research has been published in top academic journals and has been featured in prominent media outlets such as The Washington Post, Women's Health, The Telegraph UK, Huffington Post and NBCNews.“What's Hot and What's Not?” features saucy NY City weather and those tight, tight man shorts as well as videos of Kitty's butt fitting into her tight, tight shorts. We all share our love for post-orgasm cuddles and Aditi talks about her 5 minute whirlwind experience of Feeld.Johnson's What's Not Hot is… penis shaming and we are getting right up on board that train. Let's go ahead and say ALL body shaming of ALL genders is a big NOT HOT from us in the SWME podcast family. To kick-off the whole conversation about the hook-up culture Johnson tells an incredibly confusing and hilarious story about his awkward first experience of hooking up when he was 12.Aditi shares some fascinating data that she has collected through her research. Even the way we talk about “hooking up” (as in engaging in some type of sexual act) differentiates between genders, with female-identifying using much more generalised language and male-identifying using explicit descriptions in conversation. As part of Aditi's study she looked at the indicators of sexual assault and how individual's identified acts within their own personal experiences. She was surprised to find that 1 in 4 males stated that they had been touched inappropriately without consent by an intimate partner and even more surprised to find that the majority of the time this is not being identified as sexual assault.Johnson speaks about the transition that a lot of us go through from conquest mode to more consciousness around intimacy. In her research with Gen X individuals one of the major differences Aditi found was how much more openly and curiously this generation is exploring their sexual orientation. There are a huge percentage (more than ever before) who are identifying outside of being straight. Their awareness of sexuality and ability to access more information about it is a lot more vast and varied. The theme for just Quiz on My Face is… animal sex. Aditi jumps on in and guesses alongside Kitty. Our gorgeous friend Kelly Gordon from Hot Octopuss pops in to help to announce the winners from our competition!Dr. Aditi gives possibly the best answer ever when Kitty asks her what message she would love to leave behind… “Just fu*k shit up. As fast as you can. As badly as you can. As maniacally as you can. Just run yourself to the absolute motherfu*king ground and then build yourself up from there because that's how you know yourself.”Enjoy! Outside of the SWME podcast Kitty & Johnson are now offering online coaching and in person workshops in their new business. If you are interested in either then get in touch either via email or DM. Welcome to the Sex With My Ex podcast!Your hosts are Kitty and Johnson, and we can't wait to dive head first into all of the delicious, intriguing, funny and fun things that are sex. Holy guacamole Batman!Johnson starts off the episode with a banger for “What's Hot?” as he shares a recent sexcapade from an evening at a swingers club. He definitely sets you up with some lovely, yummy visuals as he describes his antics. This week Kitty & Johnson talk about… jealousy. And also about compersion which is essentially the word to describe the feelings of joy, excitement and bliss for someone else. They share their views on where jealousy comes from, how to recognise it and ways to manage these feelings and communicate them if in partnership.Within this discussion they share personal experiences of having both jealousy and compersion and where they believe the feelings stemmed from. The message around mindfulness is so prominent within this topic because the better you feel about yourself the less you are going to compare yourself to others or worry about your loved one being unfaithful. The other recurring theme is the importance of honest, open, heart-led communication. With yourself and also with your partner if you are in a relationship. Having well established values, boundaries and expectations is essential if there is a desire to reduce feelings of insecurity of jealousy.Johnson shares some interesting data that states that men and women both experience jealousy but it shows up differently. In men it most commonly shows up as sexual jealousy, and for women it tends to be emotional jealousy. Kitty & Johnson speak about their own past experiences of how jealousy manifested and how it impacted them emotionally, physically and mentally. And also how so many external factors (especially if left unaddressed in partnership) can impact our perception and lead to feelings of resentment, unworthiness and division. There is a real emphasis on having raw, open, sometimes slightly uncomfortable conversations with your partner, new potential partner, friend with benefits (and everything in between). The more that is spoken about in a respectful space, the more you can avoid miscommunication, assumption and disappointment. Johnson opens up the conversation around privacy and partners checking one another's phone, email, social media etc.As promised this week's theme for “Just Quiz on My Face.” Is… SEXY SUPERHEROES. Our gorgeous friend Kelly Gordon from Hot Octopuss jumps into the episode to tell us all about the amazing sex toy brand she works for who are wonderful advocates for inclusivity, as well as having the most incredible high tech toys. The recent decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, which had secured constitutional protections for abortion in the country for nearly 50 years, raises questions about whether something similar could happen here. Canada has its own historic Supreme Court ruling that protects abortion rights: R. vs. Morgentaler. It still stands. But is it ironclad? Or could it be overturned, too? Today on Front Burner, we explore the history of abortion rights in Canada, just how protected they really are, and how much sway the anti-abortion movement has here. We talk to Kelly Gordon, an assistant professor at McGill University and co-author of the book, The Changing Voice of the Anti-Abortion Movement: The Rise of Pro-Woman Rhetoric in Canada and the United States.
Apart from a distinct history and culture, Canadians have a vastly different political, legal and medical system from the United States. Yet there are times when the politics of the two North American neighbors move in rhythm. On today's episode, Ray Suarez talks to Kelly Gordon, assistant professor of political science at McGill University in Montreal, about the nuances of abortion access and abortion politics across our northern border. Guests: Kelly Gordon, assistant professor at McGill University Host: Ray Suarez
