Sherry claims that Lisa was struggling with depression and began using cocaine. Again, no one else in Lisa's life believes this. What's going on in the case of Lisa Stone? Was there more to Lisa than people knew, or is Sherry spinning a web of lies? THANK YOU TO THIS EPISODE'S FEATURED PARTNER: THE FETCH APP. FREE GIFT CARDS just by scanning your receipts. Today's guest is beyond talented and a true inspiration to so many. My guest today is Lisa Lynn. Lisa Lynn is a multi-talented performer. She is an actor, singer, improviser, director, writer, and voiceover artist. After receiving her Honours Degree in Musical Theatre in 2009, Lisa moved to London and has been working as a performer there, and around the world, ever since. Lisa has been teaching and performing improv since 2015. According to her she is a story teller; all of her emotions are readily available to her, always bubbling below the surface; and she loves the work. In 2018, Lisa brought her love of improv and musical theater together with the creation of Acaprov, an improvised a cappella musical show. Every performance is unique. Acaprov takes a location and title from the audience before spontaneously creating a non-stop musical that will make you laugh, cry, dance in your seat, and sing all the way home! Visit Lisa's website at lisalynn.co.uk, and learn all about the incredible show Acaprov by visiting acaprov.com. Like and review, and share with everyone!

This week, dear listeners, we come once again to our yearly celebration of all things Celtic. Though the time has passed when Celtic music was trending, it's a tradition that continues to evolve. Ireland has boomed and bust, and through it all the beauty and spirit of Celtic music has continued to charm audiences around the world, with its brilliant dances and heartfelt airs and ballads. In the poetic imagination of the Celtic bards and troubadours, travel metaphors are as common as thoughts of home. On this transmission of Hearts of Space, we take another journey across those green and rocky lands, on a program called THE CELTIC ROAD. Music is by DAVY SPILLANE, MOYA BRENNAN, LISA LYNN & ARYEH FRANKFURTER, LOREENA McKENNITT, AINE MINOGUE, DAVID ARKENSTONE, BRAGH ADAIR, and JAMES GALWAY & PHIL COULTER. Sitting down with actor, writer, director, historian, Marine, sweetheart, great friend, Jim Beaver, is always a treat, today perhaps even more so... reunited with a treasured, entertaining friend, what better way to spend a pandemic evening? We started there, how Jim, Sara, and Maddie have been managing this past year... more COVID careful than crazy, but certainly still, Sympatico. We got into life... and work... from education and early career goals, complete with some hysterical self-realizations, enlisting in the Marines out of spite, some more self -realization hysteria there, early jobs, more fun.... for us, writing, early literary and then TV success, and then, opportunity meeting preparedness and his acting break, his long-held dream, with Norman Jewison and Bruce Willis. Lots of work and then the career game-changer, Deadwood, to the life-changer, Supernatural.Highlights from Dexter, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul, his decades-long quest to tell the definitive story of Superman, George Reeves, and the three roles he's keen to conquer. Antidote for the pandemic weary... this thing right here. What better way to celebrate vaccine efficacy than with old friend, hysterical, thoughtful whip-smart, actor/comedian, Eddie Pepitone. I spent the afternoon watching his latest comedy special, For the Masses, available on Amazon Prime, which the New York Times called the funniest stand-up special of 2020––no argument here. When was the last time I continuously laughed out loudly during this damn pandemic? Eddie and I went there––from current non-shopping practices, a life-threatening excursion to procure organic grapes, ripe for the freezing, his bubble of two, virtual standup sans live audience for a year, a couple of TV shoots with lots of testing... the creepy agoraphobia threatening to cripple many of us if we don't get back in the world soon, and his vaccine envy. "LA is up to mimes. Ventriloquists are next, and then comics." Eddie took us on his journey from a pretty serious childhood to the discovery of his funny. Not your set-up punchline comic, Eddie made his way through the underground clubs, honing his unique to one, persona. Him. Ranting, authentic and raw. There were day jobs, "I worked in more restaurants than I ate in," for years before his break came with regular appearances on Conan, as the heckler, a character which has become his iconic trademark. He's been the subject of an award-winning documentary, The Bitter Buddha, appeared in innumerable sitcoms and comedy shows has had occasional stints on TV dramas, of which he hopes for more, and has appeared across the globe hitting the stage and being Eddie. Eddie will be cyber headlining The Nowhere Comedy Club on March 24th. Grab your tickets here: http://bit.ly/2PBbrlr - for other things Eddie: eddiepepitone.com It was such a sweet way to spend a COVID weary evening. I feel happy, sated, and grateful. Peter Onorati, how I adore thee... let me count the ways... amazing actor, great storyteller, sweetest of humans... loved every moment in his good company. It was a challenging race to show time post last-minute tech issues - all over the place - but once we went Live there was no way not to sit back and enjoy this wonderful conversation from Peter’s wild fabulous family from Naples to New Jersey. Not only the stories but Peter enacting them out for us. His grandfather (and DeNiro) my favorites. Early days in the real deal football and wrestling, to an MBA and a serious corporate gig, never imagining himself an actor, to how he landed there, met his bride, thrived, first on Kate & Allie in New York, Goodfellas, where he charmed Scorses to win the part, DeNiro, Liotta, making his way to LA, where commercials led to Cop Rock, an iconic gem, way before its time, starring in Civil Wars, Murder One, guest spots, guest spots, everywhere, perhaps most famously in Sex & The City, getting black-listed, working with Pacino, S.W.A.T., Mom and This is Us, all in the pandemic… raising three great sons, his marriage a loving success, improv, writing, cigars, and fitness… but it’s his grandfather… that’s the story which KILLS me. It was an intense day, Dodger Stadium in the early AM for my 2nd shot, concern of possible side effects which might impact the show, alarms gone wild in my house for ab hour requiring outside help (Bring on the Lysol), Peter’s computer saying no, moments before the Live… all forgotten in an instant. I still bask in the fun. Can think of no better way to warm ones’ heart and soul on this chilly winters night. So fun. So easy. Loved it. Love him. Fantastical post-impeachment trial much-needed joy with Emmy Winner, Tom Bergeron. How I adore this man. The long-time host of Dancing With The Stars told us what happened. I haven't watched since, you? The first man to grace Women Who Write in its inaugural year, where he read aloud from his just stopping, I'm Hosting as Fast I Can, for the first time, we had another cherry- breaking––Tom read from Drive Time, his new book in progress. As with everything Tom, it's funny and wonderful. We talked about some favorite people and favorite moments, Carl Reiner, Dick Van Dyke, Cloris Leachman, Florence Henderson, Howard Stern, Peter Marshall... career highlights from DJing at 17 to daytime TV, Hollywood Squares, winning Emmys, Candy Jar with Helen Hunt on Netflix, a dark turn in the short, The Messenger, and what he hopes for his future. Sitting down with Tom is visiting with an old cherished friend - the funny one! Was I ready for some of that in the middle of all this. I’ve been a candy fan all my life, I’ve been a Candy Clark fan almost as long. Her Academy Award Nominated performance as Debbie Dunham in American Graffiti is unforgettable. We started with a few tech issues. It was worth the little time and frustration for the great stories and fun which followed. We talked vaccines, pandemic protocols, adjusted living, shopping, eating, to making new friends in th midst of it. Candy's got her neighbors, I've got the COVID crazies. We touched on the lunacy but focused on hope. Candy walked us through her humble beginnings in Texas, where her life’s ambition was to be a secretary/ receptionist. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Modeling brought her to NY for a visit. Before touching down she decided to stay. With $40 in her pocket, she made it work. Her acting career began with director John Houston, opposite Stacy Keach and Jeff Bridges, who became her live-in boyfriend. All while she was insisting, “I just want to be an extra!” Words no one else has said, ever. There’s the whole American Graffiti story––she told us all about it, from audition to shoot, to Oscar nomination, to the red carpet with her beau Jeff, to the reading of her category. Fab! We started to talk about Bowie and The Man Who Fell To Earth, but we'd been yakking a good while, and Candy wisely decided to save it for next time. So.... stay tuned for Part 2. Candy's one of my favorite people to run around with… been missing her muchly. It was so great to see her GORGEOUSNESS and ketchup. Such fun in the time of corona. Sans the beer. Sensational storytelling from actor, activist, veteran, sober, surfer, husband, father, grandpa, success story on celluloid and in life, Gregory Harrison. And, the whole gorgeousness thing. We talked his Catalina upbringing, playing baseball and the guitar. A medic during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany, he set a precedent as the first non-religious conscientious objector. A medic, he set the stage for Trapper John MD, which launched him to stardom. We touched on Logan's Run, Sisters, Henry Jaglom's The M Word, where we met, his Broadway debut in Steel Pier, his just before the pandemic stage turn starring in The Lion in Winter, his current first soap spin in General Hospital, and why it took him so long. Returning to work on 9-1-1, after 8 months of stay-at-home like a good COVID crazy, new hope, and good sleep with the new president. As fabulous as all of that was to hear, it's Gregory's telling of meeting his wife of 40 years on Battle of The Network Stars, the sexy start, to his cocaine-fueled bottom, and what brought him there, to getting sober at Betty Ford and finding his worst nightmare unfold before his eyes. And ours. 34 years sober, his humility, honesty, and self-awareness lead to one of the best "shares" I've yet to hear. Grace, gratitude, inspiration, and fun were served up in heaping portions. Like a great meal, I leave happy, sated, and wanting more. Easy on the eyes, heart, and soul, I adore this man. This was one of the greatest shows I've had the privilege to present, in a heavily stacked pack of fabulous. I can't believe how much fun I had with Eliza and Eric Roberts. Even though we opened talking about the pandemic, and the idiot's response to today's Impeachment, the terrorism at his hand, and the threat of next week's violence, once we moved past the weighty issues of the day, we eased into a nothing short of glorious conversation. This couple so love, revere, and enjoy each other, and the load of work they do, even in the midst of this craziness. Eric has 56 projects currently filming, in pre or post-production, procured by miraculous Eliza, who also oft co-stars, handles tech, teaches actors, and steers Keaton Simons' her uber-talented sons' career. I'm exhausted thinking about it all, they live it daily, on top of being stellar humanists who stand-up for worthy cause upon worthy cause and help launch young, up and coming talent. They're a one-of-a-kind, spectacular couple. We got the story behind Another World, King of the Gypsies, Star 80, Bob Fosse, The Pope of Greenwich Village, Mickey Rourke, Runaway Train, Jon Voight, The Dark Knight, Dr. Who and Stalked By My Doctor. Eliza, actress, casting director, teacher, manager, took us through her wildly successful showbiz family, All in The Family, Animal House, how these two lovebirds met and forged an empire of successes with kindness, compassion, and grace. It was great to laugh, learn, and be inspired. I adore these two, and always love their good company. Tonight, it was an anti-corona elixir. Wanna smile, a lot... watch! In what has been a rough couple-decade transition to digital for journalism in general and local journalism in particular, Lisa and her team seem to have solved the Rubik’s Cube of print/digital/e-newsletter/social media/subscriptions to establish a sustainable business model. While having a rabid built-in skier audience as potential readers and a constellation of legendary mountains as your subject matter is a helpful start, actually figuring out how to speak to that constituency in a format and with stories that will resonate is harder than it sounds. A focus on storytelling that communicates the region’s passion and culture, a content scope that ranges from backyard ropetows to the top of Stowe to the backcountry in between, and a deep command of their subject matter – all underscored with a commitment to the fundamentals of good journalism – have all helped establish these two publications as the editorial authority on the state’s ski industry and heritage. What we talked about: The pluses and minuses of Vail’s move into Vermont; why having Vail in town may actually benefit independent mountains; where you can still ski for five bucks in Vermont; why small ski areas continue to thrive even as the mighty get mightier; kids ski programs; Magic Mountain’s comeback; why Mad River Glen works even though it’s right next to gee-whiz high-speed Sugarbush; who will buy Jay Peak?; Win Smith’s legacy managing Sugarbush; why it made sense to sell Sugarbush to Alterra; the challenges of staffing a ski area; how Vermont’s Act 250 curtails development and why that may soon evolve; the influence of multi-passes like Epic and Ikon on the state’s ski culture; why Lisa chose to be in Vermont even after skiing all over the world; the strong community and culture in Vermont and Vermont skiing; how Stowe has changed under successive ownership groups; why midweek skiing rules; why the Burke sale is stalled; why it was essential for court-appointed receiver Michael Goldberg to keep Jay and Burke open; the movement to develop managed backcountry ski areas up and down Vermont; how one group became the first in the nation to thin glades on national forest land despite the bureaucratic obstacles to doing so; how to prepare yourself to ski in the backcountry; the future of the Hermitage Club; how Vermont Ski + Ride and Vermont Sports are thriving in a tough era for journalism; Lisa’s time as an editor at Ski magazine in the fat-mag days of the ‘90s; the differences between ski journalism then and now, and who’s doing it right; and all things Vermont skiing – I think there are only one or two Vermont ski areas that we didn’t discuss in some capacity.Things that may be slightly outdated because we recorded this a while ago: Lisa gives a sneak peak at the January/February issue of Vermont Sports, which ended up beating this podcast to the internet by a couple of days. Why I thought that now was a good time for this interview: Because this may be one of the most consequential eras in the history of Vermont skiing. So much is happening so fast that it’s easy to lose perspective on how monumental the change has been, and how unimaginable it all would have been even a short time ago. From Vail buying a trio of the state’s most high-profile mountains to the introduction of the Ikon Pass to the scandal that almost took out Jay and Burke to the bankruptcy of the Hermitage Club, the Vermont ski landscape, while mostly populated by the same mountains that we’ve known for generations, looks vastly different from a business point of view than it did just three years ago. Three years from now, who will own Jay and Burke? Will someone resuscitate Hermitage Club in some form? Will Vail buy Lake Champlain? To help make sense of all this change and to understand where we may be headed, I wanted to talk to the person who understood the totality of the landscape better than anyone else. That’s Lisa. Why you should go there: Because while the national ski magazines don’t exactly ignore Vermont (Ski in particular has done nice features on Stratton, Magic and Smuggs in the past two seasons), their focus has in general drifted away from resorts and more toward adventure skiing focused on far-flung acts of derring-do that most of us are unlikely to repeat, like some 20-year-old slamming an octuple backflip over the caldera of an active volcano. These Vermont-focused mags join you to a lifestyle that you can realistically participate in and profile mountains that you can actually ski. Plus, in an era of local-is-good, this is some of the best local ski journalism in the country. Some of the stories Lisa referenced in the interview:· A look at Vermont’s managed backcountry ski areas· Magic Mountain Profile· Profile of small/independent/ropetow ski areas· A teaser for Leave Nice Tracks:The Storm Skiing Podcast is on iTunes, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, TuneIn, and Pocket Casts.
