Robert Jenrick MP, Reform UK's shadow chancellor, and Dai Davies, former head of Royal protection, come on The Julia Hartley-Brewer Show to discuss remarkable breaking news at the start of Julia's broadcast - that Andrew had been arrested at the Sandringham Estate for misconduct in public office. Andrew denies wrongdoing and has not yet been charged - as of the time of publishing. King Charles has released a statement saying ‘the law must take its course'.The continued release of the Epstein files have unveiled the extent of his relationship with the paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. E-mail exchanges between the pair reveal that Andrew handed over sensitive documents to Mr Epstein in his role as trade envoy to the British government. He is currently being investigated by NINE separate police forces throughout the country. Also: Robert Jenrick reacts to a Talk exclusive - the news that various British Chaggossians have been served an eviction notice after landing on the island in protest at Britain's deal. Keir Starmer had agreed to give away the islands and lease back the Diego Garcia military base. American president Donald Trump has flip-flopped on his support for the deal. And Robert Jenrick reacts to a BBC investigation into rape gangs in London. Sadiq Khan has previously denied any awareness of systemic grooming in the capital, despite their prevalence in other parts of the country such as Rotherham. Julia Hartley-Brewer broadcasts on Talk from Monday to Thursday, 10AM to 1PM. Available on YouTube and streaming platforms, along with DAB+ radio and your smart speaker. Hosted on Acast. In this episode of The Winston Marshall Show, I sit down with investigative journalist and feminist campaigner Julie Bindel for a forensic and deeply disturbing conversation on Britain's grooming gang scandal, institutional failure, and the ongoing cover-up.Julie traces the origins of the r*pe gang crisis back to the 1990s, long before it became national news, and explains how police, social services, and local authorities repeatedly ignored warnings from families. We discuss cases from Leeds, Blackpool, Rotherham, Telford, and London, and examine why organised child sexual exploitation by predominantly Pakistani Muslim gangs was treated as politically untouchable. The conversation explores the role of multiculturalism, fear of being labelled racist, and the systematic refusal to prosecute perpetrators or protect victims. Julie outlines how many abused girls were instead criminalised, dismissed as troublesome, or left trapped in prostitution, while those responsible faced little accountability. We also examine Sadiq Khan's denial of grooming gangs in London, the contrast between county lines drug crime and organised r*pe networks, and Rupert Lowe's independent inquiry into the scandal. Julie argues that without a full statutory inquiry, with real legal consequences, justice will remain out of reach for thousands of victims.A harrowing and unflinching discussion about child sexual exploitation, state failure, political cowardice, and whether Britain is finally prepared to confront one of the darkest chapters in its modern history.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To see more exclusive content and interviews consider subscribing to my substack here: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Substack: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/X: https://twitter.com/mrwinmarshallInsta: https://www.instagram.com/winstonmarshallLinktree: https://linktr.ee/winstonmarshall----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters00:00 Introduction02:41 The Origins of Grooming Gangs07:13 Police & Social Services Failures09:41 Why the Media Refused to Report It14:28 The Charlene Downes Case Explained18:55 The Guardian Rejection22:23 Politics & Institutional Fear26:37 The London Grooming Gangs Reality31:53 Sadiq Khan, County Lines & Race Baiting35:48 Why the Victims Were Blamed47:16 The National Inquiry & What It Must Expose53:22 Trafficking Girls to Pakistan59:58 “Hundreds of Thousands” of Victims1:02:25 Quashing Victim Convictions & Amnesty1:05:09 Starmer, Political Will & What Happens Next Hosted on Acast. From the son of a bus driver on a South London council estate to the first Muslim mayor of a major Western capital, Sadiq Khan's story is inseparable from the story of modern London. But with that journey has come a decade at the sharpest end of British politics. In this episode of Full Disclosure, James O'Brien sits down with the Mayor of London to trace the path from a crowded flat in Tooting to City Hall. Khan reflects on his parents' migration from Pakistan, the racism he experienced growing up, and the teachers who helped him see that the rooms of power were not off limits. He describes the leap from human rights lawyer to MP, the gamble of running for mayor, and the reality of governing a city through terror attacks, Brexit, a pandemic and deep political division. They discuss the resurgence of overt racism, the personal cost of public life, and why Khan refuses to let abuse dictate his politics. He speaks candidly about the backlash he faced over equal marriage, the solidarity he believes minorities must show one another, and the responsibility he feels to prove that London remains a city where progress is possible.Attention also turns to the future of the Labour Party. As calls emerge for Keir Starmer to stand down, Khan addresses the speculation directly. He reflects on party unity, leadership under pressure and the dangers of allowing internal divisions to overshadow the broader task facing Labour. For Khan, the question is not about personalities but about purpose: what Labour is for, who it represents, and how it responds at moments when confidence wavers. At its heart, this is a conversation about resilience, representation and the fragile idea of social progress. Professor Tim Evans of Middlesex University says that housing is one of the most important issues in the UK and that young people being unable to get on the housing ladder could have serious social and political consequences. He wondered why, when the Georgian style of homes is the most popular style of architecture with the public, the majority of contemporary houses look so unprepossessing. He is staggered by the level of often contradictory housebuilding regulations, which would not permit the construction of Georgian-style houses. Turning to London, he notes that housebuilding in London has fallen 84% in the last decade and that Sadiq Khan is falling short of his housebuilding target by a massive 90%. Given this, Tim wonders what the Mayor's legacy will be. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Following the surprise defection of former Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi to Reform UK, Julia Hartley-Brewer speaks to Reform UK's London Mayoral candidate, Laila Cunningham. In this interview, Julia asks about the most senior defection to Reform and whether her party is becoming the home of “washed-up” Tory politicians. Laila Cunningham describes Nigel Farage as a “true leader”, the likes of which we haven't seen in years, and sets out a vision of her party and city:Lawless London: As Met Chief Sir Mark Rowley claims that critics of the police in London were willing to “promote narratives that suit them”, Laila condemns the "gaslighting" of Londoners who don't feel safe.Faith & British Values: Laila explains why she doesn't want to be known as a “Muslim mayor”, the difference between her and Sadiq Khan's Islamic faith, and why British values should come first no matter who you are. Civil Service Mutiny: Laila warns that her party is ready to overcome “obstacles” - including civil servants that refuse to work with Reform.X Ban: Laila explains why she views calls to ban Elon Musk's X (and Grok AI) as an attempt to “control the narrative”, as Ofcom says they will investigate X over sexualised AI deepfakes being shared on the site. The chances of London electing a Reform mayor may have seemed like a pipe dream to some, or a nightmare to others, just a few years ago.But now self-styled “vigilante mum” of seven, criminal prosecutor and basketball player Laila Cunningham could be about to give Sadiq Khan a serious run for his money. The newly-announced Reform candidate for mayor joins Camilla and Tim to talk about chasing down her children's muggers, her plans for an “all-out war” on crime in the capital, and taking on the ULEZ.Later she reacts to attacks on her over her Muslim identity, weighs in on the threat of Islamism, and calls for a ban on the burka. We want to hear from you! The episode ends on a positive note about Dan Wootton's transition to an independent media platform, highlighting the rise of independent voices in the media landscape. Connect with Lee Harris
Trump's National Security Strategy is scathing about Europe, and in interviews he intensified his attack on the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. Where does this leave Britain's place in the world? Donald Trump has taken another swipe at Europe's “weak” leaders over Ukraine and immigration including a special mention for - surprise surprise - Sadiq Khan, who got a shout out for being a “horrible, vicious, disgusting mayor”. Honestly, why is he SO obsessed?! But a Labour government trying to convince European allies to water down human rights law to deport people faster seems perfectly in line with Trump's vision. Nish and Coco are joined by Sky's Deputy Political Editor Sam Coates. They also take a dive into the latest allegation swirling around Reform UK - this time the party's election spending in Nigel Farage's Clacton constituency is under the spotlight. This morning's episode was classic TDA energy - pure jokes, sharp debates, wild theories, and a heavy news breakdown all rolled into one. We kicked off with updates about Saturday's big photoshoot for TDA and The Rotation, the stress of shooting outdoors in the rain, and the big announcements coming for Christmas and the new year. From there, the convo spiralled beautifully into everything from apprenticeships to Brandy & Monica's tour, accusations flying in the chat, and a hilarious back-and-forth about whether Wiz Khalifa is a flat-earther. Then things got even more chaotic as the team argued about Candace Owens, conspiracies, assassination claims, the moon landing, whether the Earth is flat, and who really killed Malcolm X - one of the funniest TDA tangents this week.We then locked in properly for the news rundown: the UK budget drama, a heated clash between Rachel Reeves and Sadiq Khan, global political tensions, tech wars between Nvidia and Google, the Louvre robbery arrests, fires in Hong Kong, National Guard shootings in the US, hurricanes in Jamaica, and a coup unfolding in Guinea-Bissau. The team wrapped everything with sharp analysis, jokes, and well-needed context.

They also dive into Tucker Carlson's interview with Nick Fuentes — the fallout, the backlash, and how it's shaking up the right-wing. Even before Zohran Mamdani was elected as New York's first Muslim mayor, his critics frequently cited London as a sort of cautionary tale, suggesting that New York under Mamdani could go “the way of London.” That's because London already has a liberal, Muslim mayor - Sadiq Khan. But is that where the similarities end? We talk to Tim Donovan, a former BBC reporter who covered London politics for decades. And we ask Mr Khan himself what it's like to be a local politician with an international profile - especially when your most persistent critic, is a tenacious man called Donald Trump? In this episode of The Winston Marshall Show, I sit down with investigative journalist Zak Garner-Purkis for a shocking exposé on the London grooming gang cover-up that Sadiq Khan denied for years — and the Metropolitan Police's sudden admission that they are now reviewing 9,000 potential cases of group-based child sexual exploitation across the capital.Zak explains how his investigation uncovered official reports personally read and signed off by Sadiq Khan containing evidence of grooming gang victims — evidence that was ignored, downplayed, and hidden in plain sight. He reveals how political correctness, bureaucratic definitions, and media cowardice allowed predators to operate with impunity in London while authorities claimed the problem didn't exist. We discuss the failures of the Met, the political motivations behind the cover-up, and why survivors have been made invisible by those meant to protect them. Zak also shares his reporting from the French migrant camps, exposing how criminal networks traffic people across the Channel and why Britain's border crisis and child exploitation scandal are deeply connected — symptoms of a nation unwilling to confront uncomfortable truths. All this — London's hidden grooming gangs, Sadiq Khan's denials, the Met Police's reversal, and Britain's moral collapse.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To see more exclusive content and interviews consider subscribing to my substack here: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Substack: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/X: https://twitter.com/mrwinmarshallInsta: https://www.instagram.com/winstonmarshallLinktree: https://linktr.ee/winstonmarshall----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters 00:00 Introduction 01:48 Sadiq Khan's Denial and Zak's Investigation 06:14 Discovery of Grooming Gang Victims 14:23 County Lines and Child Criminal Exploitation21:35 Historical and Current Findings 23:46 Police and Political Responses46:54 Illegal Immigration and Trafficking 59:54 Impact on Local Communities Hosted on Acast. #Starmer #SadiqKhan #COP30 #UKPolitics #London #JonGaunt #Leadership #Rio #trainattack As Britain faces shocking levels of violence and fear, Keir Starmer and Sadiq Khan have chosen to fly to Rio de Janeiro for COP30 — leaving behind a country that's on edge. After the horrific train rampage that's left people terrified to travel, and another senseless murder of a man simply walking his dog, millions across the UK are asking: where is the leadership? Families are scared to walk the streets. Commuters don't feel safe getting on trains. London feels broken — crime spiralling, police overstretched, public trust collapsing. Yet instead of facing the nation, Starmer has left it to the Home Secretary and David Lammy to front the response. That's not leadership — that's avoidance. In times of crisis, a Prime Minister should lead from the front, speak directly to the public, and stand with those who are suffering. Tonight Jon Gaunt is asking:
Standing in for Julia Hartley-Brewer, Alex Phillips storms the TALK airwaves with a blistering message: she's done with Labour's Sadiq Khan and Keir Starmer as Britain's streets drown in violence. “I have no way to defend myself,” she declares to the nation. In the same breath, she demands the George Cross for the heroic rail worker who risked everything to save passengers' lives. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Londoners have been told for years to go electric – and many listened. Families swapped their cars for EVs on the school run. Small businesses invested in electric vans. Thousands of Uber drivers made the switch to cut emissions and costs. But with the Cleaner Vehicle Discount ending this Christmas, those same drivers and households will soon face new daily charges of up to £13.50 to enter central London. For many, that feels less like progress and more like punishment. The Electric London coalition, following The Standard's Leading the Charge campaign, is calling on Mayor Sadiq Khan to reverse the decision to scrap EVs' exemption from the congestion charge. In this final episode, The Standard's Business Editor Jonathan Prynn speaks with Andrew Brem, UK General Manager at Uber, and Steve Garelick from the GMB Union, to hear how professional drivers, small businesses and ordinary Londoners will be affected – and what this policy shift means for trust, fairness, and the future of London's clean air. London is rapidly expanding its electric vehicle infrastructure, with over 21,000 charging points across the city – nearly a third of the UK's total. But to meet its 2030 net zero targets, London will need tens of thousands more, with significant investment required across all boroughs. Upcoming changes to the Cleaner Vehicle Discount, which would end EVs' exemption from the congestion charge, risk slowing that progress. The Electric London coalition, following The Standard's Leading the Charge campaign, is calling on Mayor Sadiq Khan to protect London's EV uptake and ongoing infrastructure growth. In this second special episode focusing on investment and infrastructure, The Standard's Business Editor, Jonathan Prynn, speaks with Matt Croucher, Chief Commercial Officer at ChargePoint operator Believ, and Judy O'Keefe, Director of Fleet at Openreach, who is overseeing one of the UK's largest commercial EV transitions. They explore what it takes to electrify London at scale, the challenges facing fleet operators and charging providers, and what needs to happen to keep the city on track for a cleaner, electric future. Story 1: Can you still negotiate with your political opponents while posting memes of them wearing sombreros, while mariachi music blares in the background? That was the question posed to Vice President JD Vance in a viral clip currently circulating the internet as the government faces another day of a partial shutdown. Will explains why Vance's justification of the memes isn't as far-fetched as it may appear, due to some particularly unreasonable demands hidden within the legalese of the Democrat's funding plan. Story 2: British Author and Columnist at the New York Post Douglas Murray joins to discuss Great Britain's free speech crisis and if it represents a bad omen for the US. Will and Douglass discuss the parallels between London mayor Sadiq Khan and Zohran Mamdani, whether Britons feel national pride to the extent Americans do, and how the Founding Father's view of tolerance has been twisted beyond recognition to justify some ridiculous policy decisions. Story 3: Author, New York Post Columnist, and Host of ‘Pod Force One,' Miranda Devine joins to discuss a recent interview she conducted with Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, during which he revealed some shocking information about his relationship with Epstein. Will and Miranda discuss everything we know about Jeffrey Epstein and his crimes so far, or perhaps more accurately, the concerning lack of information that still remains hidden from public knowledge. Then, in Final Takes, Will reads some comments from the Willitia, responding to their thoughts on today's show before sharing his top-secret hair routine. Will also reacts to a viral clip of former First Lady Michelle Obama complaining about her husband's chewing habits and Elon Musk reaching a net worth of $500 Billion dollars. Donald Trump's wild speech at the UN General Assembly has done more than just cause a diplomatic headache; it's exposed the deep tensions simmering just below the surface of Keir Starmer's government. His attack on Sadiq Khan saw senior ministers like Wes Streeting and Shabana Mahmood scrambling to respond, raising the question: in a party rife with leadership speculation, is loyalty still the best strategy? With mounting speculation that Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is gearing up for a leadership challenge, Ed Balls and George Osborne dig into the manoeuvres and what they signal about the stability of Starmer's leadership, in a week where the UK also made its historic move to recognise the Palestinian state.Meanwhile, another great challenge looms for the government: the economy. With a reported £30 billion fiscal hole to fill, could a controversial wealth tax be the answer? And as the government seeks to respond to pressure on migration, is a return to ID cards the right move? George thinks the time has come for a digital identity scheme, but Ed is deeply sceptical it can work…To get episodes early and ad-free, join Political Currency Gold or the Kitchen Cabinet:

Among the claims Donald Trump made in his blistering UN speech was that Sadiq Khan is “terrible” and “they want to go to sharia law”.The London mayor has called the comments “Islamophobic”, but are there legitimate concerns to be had about the "shadow system" of approximately 85 sharia courts operating in the UK?Camilla and Tim speak to Fiyaz Mughal, founder of anti-Muslim monitoring project Tell MAMA, about how sharia courts work and why they can be harmful – not least to women.Plus, ahead of a speech by Keir Starmer about “reclaiming the flag”, we ask what patriotism and flag-waving really mean in the UK today.Read: ‘Shadow system' of Sharia courts challenges British justice Producer: Lilian FawcettSenior Producer: John CadiganPlanning Editor: Venetia RaineyVideo Editor: Will WaltersStudio Director: Meghan SearleSocial Producer: Ece CelikExecutive Producer: Charlotte Seligman Hosted on Acast. Trump's in town and it's every bit as grotesque as you'd imagine. From lavish royal dinners and tech-bro fawning, to unhinged speeches, salutes from GB News presenters, and Sadiq Khan becoming the scapegoat for everything wrong with Britain. Marina and Jemma pick apart the circus and wonder what Charles and Camilla must have made of it all. But the chaos doesn't stop there: while Starmer is trying to contain the Trumps, Corbyn and Sultana's “Your Party” collapses before it even gets going. So, No one's party then? Meanwhile, Reform are busy demanding more money for Andrea Jenkyns' inbox while plotting another Windrush scandal.Still, amid the nonsense, there are glimmers of hope - from the Greens cutting through to heart-warming pudding clips that remind us humanity isn't all bad.Thank you for sharing and do tweet us @MarinaPurkiss @jemmaforte @TheTrawlPodcast Patreonhttps://patreon.com/TheTrawlPodcast Youtubehttps://www.youtube.com/@TheTrawl Twitterhttps://twitter.com/TheTrawlPodcastIf you've even mildly enjoyed The Trawl, you'll love the unfiltered, no-holds-barred extras from Jemma & Marina over on Patreon, including:• Exclusive episodes of The Trawl Goss – where Jemma and Marina spill backstage gossip, dive into their personal lives, and often forget the mic is on• Early access to The Trawl Meets…• Glorious ad-free episodesPlus, there's a bell-free community of over 3,300 legends sparking brilliant chat. And it's your way to support the pod which the ladies pour their hearts, souls (and occasional anxiety) into. In his speech to the UN General Assembly, US President Donald Trump has made a fresh attack on Sir Sadiq Khan, and claimed London wants to “go to Sharia law”. A spokesperson for Sadiq, London's first Muslim mayor said: “We are not going to dignify his appalling and bigoted comments with a response." The US president also appeared to change his stance on Ukraine, speculating that Kyiv could win back its land due to Russia's economic troubles. For analysis, we join The Standard's defence editor Robert Fox, who also tells us what he thinks Russia's plans are next.In part two, do you remember the Blitz Club?Forty years after its closure it's now being celebrated at the Design Museum. The Standard's head of culture, Martin Robinson, reveals everything you need to know, and why this exhibition will attract a large audience. In this episode of The Wright Report, we cover the charging of Charlie Kirk's assassin, Trump's high-stakes trip to the UK, Germany's political and cultural reckoning, Denmark's Greenland pivot, and an unexpected health study on building muscle. From courtroom revelations to foreign policy clashes and even workout science, today's brief connects the dots shaping America's security and daily life. Charlie Kirk Assassin Formally Charged: Tyler Robinson faces aggravated murder charges with Utah prosecutors seeking the death penalty. Text messages revealed him telling his trans boyfriend, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it.” Robinson bragged about “engraving bullets” and retrieving his rifle from a “drop point.” Senator Mike Lee warned of possible Cuban and Iranian ties to Armed Queers Salt Lake City, while critics blasted ABC News for framing the texts as a “very intimate portrait.” Bryan warns, “This is bigger than one loner assassin… this is a puzzle piece that fits into a Leftist revolution.” Trump Visits the UK Amid Socialist Criticism: London Mayor Sadiq Khan attacked Trump as a xenophobe fanning “far-right politics,” even as King Charles prepared a lavish welcome. Trump will meet with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and may also meet Reform UK's Nigel Farage, a move described as “Make Great Britain Great Again.” Bryan says such a meeting would be “sweet revenge” after Labour staffers campaigned for Kamala Harris in U.S. swing states last year. Germany's Reckoning with AfD Surge: The populist AfD party won record support in western Germany as voters revolt over high energy prices, economic stagnation, and radical Islam. A spate of Islamist terror attacks and growing “no-go zones” in Berlin add to fears, while reports mock German workers as lazier than Greeks or Italians. One slacker told reporters, “There are other parts of life besides work, you know.” Denmark's Greenland Pivot: After Trump's pressure to secure Greenland, Denmark pledged $250 million for new runways, ports, and defenses against China and Russia. The timing of the announcement — as Trump landed in London — highlighted Denmark's attempt to appease U.S. demands without ceding sovereignty. Finland and Poland Revive Bog Defenses: Officials plan to restore swamps and peat bogs along Russian borders to bog down invading tanks, reviving a centuries-old defense strategy. Baltic nations may follow, though Germany dismissed the idea as too costly. Health Research on Muscle Building: Illinois researchers found that lean pork after workouts builds more muscle than fattier cuts, adding to past findings that whole eggs and fresh salmon outperform supplements. Bryan quips, “Get strong… you never know when a Leftist might come for you.” "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32 Keywords: Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson charged, Utah death penalty, Armed Queers Salt Lake City Cuba Iran ties, ABC News Charlie Kirk texts coverage, Trump UK visit Sadiq Khan criticism, King Charles Windsor Castle Trump, Nigel Farage Reform UK meeting, Germany AfD populist surge, German worker laziness Washington Post, Germany Islamist terror Cologne rapes, Denmark Greenland $250 million defense, Finland Poland restore bogs Russia defense, Illinois lean pork muscle building study, whole eggs salmon workout protein
#Patriots #TommyRobinson #JonGaunt #Starmer #SadiqKhan #WokeLeft #TrumpVisit #UKPolitics #FreeSpeech The Patriots are winning — and the usual suspects can't handle it. Starmer, Sadiq Khan, and their pals in the mainstream media are screaming “racist” at anyone who dares wave the flag or show pride in Britain. Was the Tommy Robinson rally racist? Is the Raise the Colours campaign racist? Of course not. But the woke elites hate ordinary, working-class people standing up for their country — and now they're even protesting Trump's state visit. REMEMBER: - When the woke cry ‘racist,' you know we're winning. - They hate patriotism because they can't control it. - Working-class pride vs. elite hysteria — guess who's louder? - Patriots don't apologize for loving their country. - The flag belongs to the people, not the politicians. - Patriotism isn't a crime — no matter what the elites say. - The louder they cry, the stronger we fly the flag. - Britain belongs to its people, not the political class. Jon Gaunt says the louder they howl, the more obvious it is: the Patriots are turning the tide. Join the fightback. High streets across the UK are being overwhelmed by betting shops. They gobble up £4.6 billion from punters every year - and local councils have almost no powers to block them. Labour MP Dawn Butler's constituency, Brent East in North-West London, has 81 licensed enterprises alone. Jumping into “Betsy”, Dawn's prized old-banger, Coco is taken out and about in Willesden to see first hand how betting shops are popping up everywhere and hear what local residents think. Along with 37 council leaders and mayors, Dawn is calling for a reform of the Gambling Act 2005 and a hike in gambling duties. With hints she might stand to be London mayor at the next election - could this be the first glimpse of her campaign? Then, Nish and Coco give their assessment of Keir Starmer and the European moral support squad's visit to the White House - is Putin still calling the shots on Ukraine? And as Starmer's Government slumps to an all-time low in the polls, Sadiq Khan has a spicy take on Labour's first year in power. But a glimmer of hope: is that a don't-call-it-a-wealth-tax on the horizon? On a less hopeful note, what on earth is going on with Labour's social media account? And Nish and Coco struggle to get their head around the new Gen Z additions to the Cambridge Dictionary. Is politics all “delulu with no solulu”? The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (08/05/2025): 3:05pm- At least fifty-one Texas House Democrats fled the state as part of an effort to deny the Texas House a quorum—effectively preventing a vote on redistricting while also prolonging a vote on providing financial relief for families impacted by last month's devastating floods that killed more than 120 people. In response, Governor Greg Abbott has argued that fleeing the state to prevent the legislative process simply because you don't like the expected outcome of an upcoming vote amounts to an “abandonment or forfeiture of an elected state office.” 3:15pm- Fun Fact: Did you know that the total number of House members briefly expanded from 435 to 437 in 1959 when both Hawaii and Alaska became states. Congress temporarily approved of the expansion to prevent any existing state from losing a seat immediately upon the Hawaii/Alaska admission. 3:40pm- While appearing on CNBC, President Donald Trump said of Texas redistricting efforts: “We are entitled to five more seats.” 3:45pm- In response to Texas's redistricting attempt, Governor Gavin Newsom has pledged to redistrict California—presumably removing several Republican congressional seats. Interestingly, Republicans currently hold just 17% of the congressional seats in CA—despite nearly 40% of the state voting for Donald Trump in 2024. Doesn't that suggest the state is already heavily gerrymandered? Comparatively, Democrats currently hold 32% of the House seats in Texas (with one vacant seat in a district that is reliably blue—so, the real number is closer to 34%). Kamala Harris won 42% of the Texas statewide vote in 2024. 4:05pm- Hans von Spakovsky—Senior Legal Fellow at the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the Department of Justice launching a grand jury investigation into the “Russiagate” hoax. 4:20pm- Rich saw the new Naked Gun movie with Liam Neeson—and it was surprisingly good! 4:35pm- Patricia Posner—Journalist & Author of the book, “The Pharmacist of Auschwitz”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss her latest piece for The New York Post, “Zohran Mamdani's NYC could look like Sadiq Khan's far-left London and New Yorkers should be terrified.” You can read the full article here: https://nypost.com/2025/08/02/opinion/zohran-mamdanis-nyc-could-look-like-sadiq-khans-far-left-london/. 4:50pm- From the White House, President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating a task force for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. 5:05pm- From the White House, President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating a task force for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Following the EO signing, Trump took questions from the press—including on the war between Russia and Ukraine, supplying food to the people of Gaza, transgender athletes competing in the Olympics, halting illegal border crossings, redistricting efforts in Texas, and the possibility of the Trump Administration paying Americans a “dividend” using some of the money saved via DOGE's government waste cuts. Plus, who does he think will be the Republican presidential nominee in 2028?
