Kyle McElwain: https://kylemcelwain.co.nz/ Takeaways Investing in meaningful relationships has a high return on investment. Money can make life easier, but it doesn't guarantee happiness. Loyalty is important in both personal and business relationships. Transparency and communication are key in maintaining trust in corporate environments. The distribution of wealth should be more equitable. The perception of value is often based on status and branding. Apple products create a consistent user experience that reinforces consumer behavior. Homeostasis plays a role in resistance to change and the preference for familiar experiences. Elon Musk's polarizing nature stems from his unconventional thinking and challenging of traditional norms. Conditioning and upbringing influence decision-making and the perception of choices. The pursuit of happiness involves constant learning and improvement. Impressing others can be a driving force, but it's important to find satisfaction within oneself. Anxiety can arise from the pressure to meet others' expectations and the need for constant adaptation. Handling high-stress situations requires a balance between outward calmness and self-care. The concept of free will and the idea of being 'enough' are complex and personal. Resilience can be built through navigating challenging experiences and finding ways to cope. Things Discussed: Rundown of the ton of false reporting. NCAA is in town: False. WSJ says offer rescinded: False. Thamel says all the B10 coaches are repeating Ryan Day's talking points: False. It's one thing to sensationalize—ESPN sensationalizes all the time—but they're getting provable facts wrong. Getting it right means calling someone who could tell you your reporting is wrong. Craig Ross: Shares the time Sam had it from someone that Carr was against the Harbaugh hire and he checked on it with Carr who said he loves Jack Harbaugh and he'd be the biggest fan of the hiring of Jim Harbaugh. How much does it matter? Run-pass is the best you can tell; it matters, not as much as how the right tackle's foot is aligned, because the RT's half step is more important than hiding your intentions from the defense. James Franklin: Nobody needed your signs to know you were running a zone read on 4th & 2 vs OSU in 2018. Nobody said we need to start a federal investigation against Northwestern when they had Michigan's signs that day. Schiano's the biggest sign-stealer in the league, because nobody changes their signs. Sam: they're mad about Stalions though. That wasn't Schiano's halftime comment. Want to shut them up? Everyone turn in your sign-stealers and go to wristbands and microphones. Stalions on CMU's sideline? Possible that McElwain didn't know who Stalions was. Seth: Is it possible that CMU borrowed Michigan's sign-stealer to try to beat MSU? Would explain how he got a placard, how he knew how the coaches were dressing, etc. It wouldn't implicate Michigan, because they get no benefit from that, but would fit Stalions's profile. Brian: If Michigan's moving ahead with their contract for Harbaugh their internal investigation found no evidence that Balance of news is positive; now we're just down to coaches complaining. Do you think these guys are interested parties? The check? Ryan Day doesn't care about the check; the commissioner of the league is a TV guy, and a TV guy is not going to devalue the TV conference's most valuable property because they will get sued by Fox and NBC, and guarantee that Michigan will leave this conference for the SEC. Guy who said it's a three-touchdown advantage $1 it's Franklin. And you still lose. Ryan Day you still lose too. Why aren't OSU/PSU clamoring to play Michigan without their sign-stealer? Brian: "If you actually believe what you're saying you would be, but you don't because it's crazy." Maybe you guys need to get good; we're a TV product and you guys are unwatchable. This conference is Michigan and Ohio State and the four teams we're importing because the rest of you are unwatchable.

DOWNLOAD FREE BOOKS Jenny Wheeler: The last time we talked it was December 2018 and you had two books in the series out at that stage, I think, and working on the third. Now you're on to number five and I believe number one has been sold to TV, so congratulations on that for starters. Julie McElwain: Thank you. Meeting Julie McElwain again Jenny Wheeler: Tell us about the journey since we last talked. Number three you were working on, but now you're up to number five. Julie McElwain: Yes. It has been a wonderful adventure, I've got to say, not only creating the series but also having people all over the world reaching out to me and connecting with me about the series. It was so touching because I've had several people reach out and say that reading the series has helped them through the pandemic. That was unexpected and really nice to hear. It's not only the first book, all the books have been option by Hollywood now. Prior to Covid a Hollywood producer reached out to me. We had a beautiful lunch in Beverly Hills about this, and then Covid happened and everything screeched to a halt. I think it's coming back on track. We've heard good things, so fingers crossed. Murder in Time still a hot item I was also very honored because Town and Country magazine recently selected A Murder in Time as its 35 best time travel books. That was an honor. Also I've got to say, I had people from New Zealand reach out and I'm going to credit you, because they said, you're getting quite a fan base here. I credit you, Jenny, for giving me a fan base in New Zealand, so thank you. Jenny Wheeler: That's very sweet of you. We were quite new when we started, so that's lovely. Your book is about a 21st century FBI detective, Kendra Donovan. She gets time slipped back to early 19th century London, not intentionally at all. She's actually engaged in trying to handle her life in the 21st century when she suddenly finds herself shooted back into 19th century London. Tell us a little bit about the background for how that happens to her. Julie McElwain: What happens in A Murder in Time is you see her in the 21st century. She's involved in tracking this terrorist. She's this brilliant FBI agent, and that mission goes seriously wrong. Half her team ends up killed, she herself is seriously injured. When she recovers, she finds out the mastermind behind it has actually been recruited by the CIA. He is now a CIA asset and untouchable, and she can't handle this. She wants justice, so she ends up going to England where he is located. She infiltrates a fancy ball where she has to pretend to be a ladies maid to get close to her target. What she doesn't realize is that he has double-crossed other people now as a CIA operative, so there's an assassin sent after him. The assassin gets him before Kendra can, and Kendra has to flee the assassin. Psychedelica Lex Episode 2022 – 062 Madalyn McElwain, Esq. Discusses Dance Safe and Harm Reduction 03 June 2022 Part 1 of 1 ____________________________________________________ Author and host, Gary Michael Smith, Esq., is a decades-experienced, AV rated, attorney, American Arbitration Association panelist, founding director of the Arizona Cannabis Bar Association, board member of the Arizona Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, and general counsel to the nation's oldest federally recognized, 501C3, multi-racial peyote church. Psychedelica Lex is the first book to offer a comprehensive survey of the laws and regulations governing psychedelic substances. ABOUT THE PSYCHEDELICA LEX PODCAST AND CHANNEL President Nixon's enactment of the Controlled Substances Act in 1970 banished most psychedelics to Schedule I, making psychedelics for most purpose illegal. However, as the Congressional Record reveals, psychedelics never got a fair trial and little scientific evidence, if any, was considered by lawmakers. Prohibition was more about politics than public health. Yet, historical record, anecdotal evidence, and scientific studies all suggest that prohibition was an unnecessary and harmful overreaction and that many benefits may be derived from psychedelics. Psychedelica Lex puts the question of psychedelics on trial. Hosted by a veteran litigation attorney, each episode will explore psychedelics from different perspectives. As we explore the evidence together, you - the audience - will serve as jurors. Together we will examine every facet. Applying the rigors of cross examination and the Socratic method, we will seek an objective truth. ____________________________________________________________ The growth, trafficking, sale, possession, or consumption of psychedelics may be a felony punishable by imprisonment, fines, forfeiture of property, or any combination thereof. This week on the podcast, you'll hear Kirin McElwain, cellist, performer, and coordination enthusiast. You'll hear the story of a musician who has the courage to try new things, over and over, and the courage to STOP the things that aren't working for her. Kirin McElwain is a performer-composer on cello and voice and—more recently— laptop and modular synthesizer. Equally at home in concert halls, recording studios, and in DIY venues, Kirin has contributed sounds to numerous film and television scores, contemporary dance performances, mixed media installations, and traditional classical and contemporary classical performances. In her own sound practice, she explores the tension between form and chaos, western classical harmony and noise, and ideas of “goodness” and “correctness” in musical style. Currently she is an Alexander Technique practitioner who works with musicians both one on one and through her digital membership, Feel Better Sound Better. What I admire so much about Kirin is the RELENTLESSNESS with which she approaches her creative and business life. She's not afraid to look at what is and isn't working, she's not afraid to ask herself what she needs and what she wants, and she's not afraid to make it happen. We could all take inspiration from this! My takeaways from Kirin's conversation: When you find something that works for you, lean into it Be flexible in how people want to work with you. If you can make it easy, they'll come! Always be aware of what you want to do and what you don't want to do The scarcity mentality of just being grateful for what you have is NOT moving you forward Maintain your standards for yourself Imagine the best possible outcome - and figure out how to handle all of that success in advance Trust yourself to know what you need and figure out how to get it What did YOU hear? Nancy McElwain is on the podcast today to educate us on menopause and the importance of sex hormone testing. So often we are left to "figure it out" ourselves, but much like when we learn about the birds and bees, we need to have someone sit down with us to explain this menopause thing so that we don't think we're crazy or that we need to take some sort of pill to mask the symptoms of what we are going through. Some takeaways:Much like when we are young and learning about the birds and the bees, women deserve more information about peri-menopause and menopause as they approach it. Symptoms that you may be entering peri-menopause are sleep disturbances, mood swings, sweats, some weigh gain, loss of muscle mass, mental fog, and vaginal dryness.Hormones are the sense through which we see the world. Hormones work together in symmetry and balance so when balance is off, things go haywire. When we talk about SEX HORMONES we are talking about estrogen, testosterone and progesterone. The first thing that happens in menopause is the ovaries start to slow down in their production of sex hormones and the adrenal glands have to take up the slack. What can make peri-menopause so difficult is that your adrenals are used to deal with stress and are already taxed so when they are asked to make more sex hormone in addition, they aren't prepared. The ease of your trip through peri-menopause and menopause is a direct correlation to the health of your adrenals as you head into it.Your level of cortisol, or stress hormone, is tested to determine the health of your adrenals. If the health of the adrenals helps us through menopause, we need to get our level of stress under control .The body feels stress from all sources: dietary, lifestyle, mental, emotional, physical, biochemical. So by the time women hit menopause, there is already lot of stress happening. The first thing to do when holistically dealing with stress is to sit down with a piece of paper and write all of the tangible things that cause you stress.Nancy puts stress into three categories - ones you can get rid of, ones that you can make better, ones that you are must deal with.Heightened Cortisol levels puts us into Fight or Flight mode (ie running from a bear) and slows down the production of our sex hormones as well as slow systems like digestion - because if you are running for your life those become lower priority. Except that we aren't in flight or flight anymore - we don't run from bears - we are in what is called sit and stew. The sex hormone test that Nancy does is called the Dutch test - it is a dried urine test. She suggests the COMPLETE which tests both Cortisol and the sex hormones. Can be given to both men and women.Once you have a plan in place, it will take months to get things back into balance. It does not happen over night.Always make sure to be in communication with your doctor so that he or she is aware of what you are doing.Nancy is running her next Whole Food Nutrition Detox March 1 - 5th. Nutrition therapist and exercise physiologist Nancy McElwain is talking about the benefits of whole food nutrition and how it helps heal the body by dealing with issues of individual systems as part of the whole. She also gives us advice on charging the body up to help deal with the aging process.Among the topics are:1. Holistic nutrition looks at the inter-connectiveness of things and how the body works as a whole and uses food to heal body issues by giving individual body systems what it needs.2. Western medicine looks to heal symptoms while the holistic approach looks to solve the root cause.3. The holistic approach is very simple and requires you to go back to the basics of nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle choices.4. Stress management is key for your digestive process.5. A lot of your neurotransmitters are made in your gut, including serotonin, your happy neurotransmitters.6. A lot of your immune system surrounds your gut so there is a strong connection between them. Happy gut, happy body.7. We are what we eat, we are what we eat eats. Basically what we eat and what it eats becomes part of us.8. Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.9. Adding in whole foods gets you a long way, but some supplements help - Omega fats, B12, D, Vitamin C, Magnesium, and Zinc are among them.10. During menopause, it is very important to support the adrenals and the liver and the jobs they do. Clean eating is key.11. Eating healthy is not a pass-fail. Anything you can do better your nutrition is a win.Nancy is leading a 5 Day Whole Food Detox in MARCH 2022. She provides the detox plan, meal plan, shopping list, guidance/support.
