From blood pressure and cholesterol screening to lifestyle changes and emerging treatments, Dr Blusztein explains what Australians need to know about prevention, early detection and reducing their risk of heart attack and stroke. Hey Diabuddy thank you for listening to show, send me some positive vibes with your favorite part of this episode. In this episode, Coach Ken and Graham tackle one of the most fascinating and controversial questions in the diabetes world:What will happen first—a cure for Type 1 diabetes or a way to prevent it altogether? The conversation begins with a discussion around continuous glucose monitors, the barriers to bringing new diabetes technology to market, and why FDA approval plays such a significant role in innovation and accessibility. From there, Ken and Graham zoom out to examine diabetes on a global scale. They explore the challenges people with diabetes face in developing countries, the realities of insulin access, and whether advanced technology like CGMs should be prioritized when many people still struggle to obtain life-saving insulin. The discussion then shifts into the future of Type 1 diabetes research, including Teplizumab (Tzield), immunotherapy, stem cell research, autoimmune triggers, and the ongoing debate between prevention and cure.Along the way, Ken shares his perspective on the role that lifestyle factors—including stress, sleep, nutrition, exercise, and overall health—may play in autoimmune conditions, while Graham challenges the conversation by exploring whether vaccines, immunotherapy, or preventative treatments could eventually become the standard approach. This episode is an honest discussion about innovation, skepticism, hope, and the future of diabetes care.

(3) Bob Zimmerman examines the Soviet Zond program, noting that failures like Zond 4's self-destruction and Zond 6's atmosphere loss prevented the Russians from launching cosmonauts first. This created a vacuum that NASA manager George Low filled by proposing the bold, risky plan to send Apollo 8 to the moon without the lunar module. Despite the lack of a "lifeboat," leadership approved the mission to beat the Soviets. The guest emphasizes that these aggressive decisions were fueled by CIA intelligence suggesting a Russian lunar flight was imminent, forcing NASA to take engineering risks to secure a Cold War victory.1955

One of the things that makes this life so interesting is that something can happen that's life-changing, when you least expect it. I mean, you're just going about your day – stopping at the grocery store, or putting gas in your car, just a routine day. Then something totally unexpected happens, right in front of you. I remember one time when I was just on my way to work in the morning. Just driving on this rural road in Maine, and there was a pickup truck in front of me. And there was a man riding in the back – in the open bed of the truck. He was standing, facing forward, just hanging out. All of a sudden that truck went to the right, off the road, right into a power pole. I don't know what caused the driver to lose control, but fortunately there were no serious injuries. Even the guy in the truck bed was mostly okay. But it just happened so fast. My guest today is Jayson. He was having a pretty normal day, just running some errands. Then he found himself unexpectedly witnessing an attempted murder. How I've reduced overwhelm and prevented burnout in my business (with one simple shift)Season 10, Episode 84: Show Up and Be HeardIn today's episode, I'm sharing something I've introduced into my business recently that has genuinely been a game changer when it comes to managing overwhelm and avoiding burnout.Because if you're anything like me, you're not just running a business. You're juggling life, family, responsibilities, emotions, hormones, and about a million invisible tabs open in your brain at any given time. And it can feel like you're constantly trying to keep up, constantly trying to do your best, and still somehow feeling like you're falling short. So this episode is for you if you've ever sat down to work already feeling behind. If you've ever tried to push through a bad day because your diary said you had to. If you've ever gone straight from parenting into work mode and felt like your brain just… didn't catch up.I'm going to talk you through something I call a “life is life-ing buffer” and how it's completely changed the way I structure my days, how I protect my energy, and how I show up in my business without burning myself out in the process.By the end of this episode, my hope is that you'll feel a little bit lighter, a little bit less alone in how you're feeling, and maybe inspired to find your own version of this that actually works for your business and your life.If you enjoyed this episode or found it useful, then I would really appreciate if you could take just a few minutes to give it a review on whatever platform you are listening on - because every one I get really does make me do a little squeal and a happy dance!LINKS YOU DEFINITELY WANT TO CHECK OUT:Find out more about and sign up for Boss Your Socials ClubCONNECT WITH BECCI:Connect with Becci on Instagram, LinkedIn or FacebookJoin Becci's email communityEPISODE TRANSCRIPTTap to downloadThis podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podcorn - https://podcorn.com/privacy

Most use-of-force problems don't start with bad intent; they start with bad preparation. We're talking with Joe Buice, a lifelong martial artist and retired sheriff's office lieutenant who has spent decades in corrections, led high-liability teams, and now serves as Pepperball's Director of Implementation. The result is a practical, no-theory conversation about what actually keeps officers safe in jails, prisons, and street encounters. We get specific about defensive tactics and why “just grab an arm” fails when stress hits. Joe breaks down the real gap he sees across agencies: perishable skills treated like check-the-box training. We discuss how hesitation shows up in body-worn video reviews, why fundamentals and repetition create fluidity, and how control tactics can reduce injuries for both staff and inmates while staying inside policy and lawful orders. We also connect the dots between training and leadership. Joe shares how strong teams are built by putting the right people in the right roles, leading from the front, and slowing down long enough to listen. Then we shift to safer options first, including Pepperball for distance, area saturation, buffer zones, and lowering the career-long toll of hands-on fights. In this New Year's first podcast episode, I'll break down “THE FOUR PATTERNS THAT PREVENTED MOMS FROM TURNING AUTISM SYMPTOMS AROUND IN 2025.” I'm pretty sure numbers 1 and 4 will surprise you (a lot). We're talking about….The mindset traps. The strategy gaps. The spiritual blockers……..that I see happen over and over again. Based on 70+ audits - working with intelligent, driven, and faith-based (or curious) moms like you.You need to know this to set up a strategy that actually works this season, not just temporary, fragile results. You know a lot about nutrition and diet. You have a spiritual or faith-based approach to healing.But. You have changed. You're no longer the same as when you first suspected that your child was different. You have outgrown the strategies, most of the moms, and the practitioners you used to rely on. Your family, siblings in the shadow, husbands - are no longer able to hold the pressure, and it's threatening to steal the childhood and the life quality for all family members. Something HAS to change. NOW.You're probably sensing a big shift where the ambition has changed. We no longer “just want to remove symptoms”; we want future independence, life skills, and emotional intelligence.Adding more tools or therapies, thinking that the more you do, the less symptoms you will see - has the opposite effect (long term).Let's change that…But there are massive root causes preventing this turnaround. You cannot "head on a stick" your way out of this. You can't abandon yourself and save your child at the same time. Why should you listen?

Firefighters Could Have Prevented L.A. Wildfires, but California Rules Made Them Save Plants Instead

California's environmental policies literally chose endangered plants over human lives—and 12 people paid the ultimate price. Firefighters watched a containable 8-acre brush fire smolder for a week in Topanga State Park, but state officials ordered them to leave the area to protect the Braunton's Milkvetch (yes, a purple flower) and potential Native American artifacts. Despite extreme fire warnings and 80 mph winds approaching, the burn scar sat unmonitored because "avoidance areas" banned heavy equipment and mop-up operations without an archaeologist present. The result? The Palisades Fire exploded into LA's worst urban wildfire catastrophe—23,000 acres burned, 6,800 structures destroyed, and billions in damages. New lawsuit evidence reveals secret maps, text messages showing firefighters saying "heck no" to bringing in dozers, and a state policy that literally prioritizes letting parks burn even when adjacent to densely populated neighborhoods. Meanwhile, only 1 home has been rebuilt a year later. Is anyone surprised that California's "plants over people" philosophy ended in absolute disaster? When will state leaders be held accountable for policies that made citizens less safe?
