On this episode of the Customers First Podcast, I had the privilege of speaking with the inspiring James Robbins, a transformative leader and motivational speaker. Our conversation began with his remarkable journey from humble beginnings on a cattle ranch to influential leadership roles. This journey profoundly shaped his views on leadership, inspiration, and motivation. James emphasizes a powerful truth: while leaders are accountable for outcomes, their teams ultimately drive success.  Every effective manager should embrace three essential leadership truths: First, leaders must equip their teams with the tools and support necessary for achievement. Second, the role of an immediate supervisor is pivotal in determining employee happiness and engagement. Finally, James underscores that leadership is not just a position but a skill that evolves through continuous learning and self-reflection.  In discussing his book Nine Minutes on Monday, James reveals how different motivations—intrinsic and extrinsic—can significantly influence employee engagement. We also tackle the critical theme of leadership ownership, where James passionately articulates the need for leaders to take responsibility during setbacks, creating a safe space for innovation and collaboration.  As we conclude our enlightening conversation, James shares his insights on aligning personal values with professional life and teases his upcoming book on personal development. This episode is brimming with actionable tips for leaders eager to amplify their impact. I encourage you to reflect on these powerful insights and consider how to implement these leadership principles in your organization for transformative change. Morning Worship Sermon with Rev. Larry Neiderhiser Scripture reference Mark 14:32-42 32 They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” 35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. 36 “Abba,[f] Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” 37 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Simon,” he said to Peter, “are you asleep? Couldn't you keep watch for one hour? 38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 39 Once more he went away and prayed the same thing. 40 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him. 41 Returning the third time, he said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As parents, it's important to anchor ourselves and our children in God's promises. During these moments, we can pray scriptures that remind us of God's faithfulness, presence, and love. Praying over our children is a powerful way to help them understand their identity and purpose in Christ. We can remind them that God is faithful, always present, and has wonderful plans for their lives. When we pray these truths, we help our kids experience the depth of God's love and grace. Through prayer, we can nurture their faith and help them grow into the amazing individuals God created them to be. Hello, hi! Today's episode is a first for the show: Medium Lady Rants? After being influenced by a few videos critiquing BookTok and the Beauty Influencer space it occurred to me that some of the problems in those spaces also exist in the motherhood content space. And I have a lot of thoughts about it! This episode is designed to give you some healthy skepticism about short form content that targets mothers, so you can avoid the shame and blame that can sometimes be triggered after a scroll session. Episode Summary Why do moms seek this kind of content in the first place? And why can it be harmful? While we don't need to call out or “cancel” any particular creator there are themes behind some of the content that is useful to pay attention to I'll talk about why I resisted embracing the “Mom” niche for so long The “machine” of social media is not invested in our wellness at all - even if creators are doing their best to create intentional content Ultimately, motherhood content on social media feels like it's serving a need - if we're aware of what those needs are we can be more mindful as we consume short form content.  It's crucial to remember that virality will always come before your mental health - and I'll explain more about why this is the case. What is rage baiting? And how does it work when it comes to short form content for mothers? Remember your focus and attention is currency: creators will use your insecurities as the entry point to gain more of that currency as collateral you might find yourself being preyed upon for engagement. I routinely reflect on the struggle I've experienced as a content creator to dabble with and mess around in some of the spaces that provide a straighter path to growth and virality and the cost of that would be my personal desire to help people and leave my audience better than when they found me. Awareness of how this content can leave you in a shame and blame spiral is only good if it compels you to take ACTION - I'll share my suggestions for how you can bring mindfulness and digital habits to your consumption of short form content (it's easy I promise)   Other Episodes you might like: Episode 107: From Anxiety to Action - How to reclaim your mental headspace with guest and coach Madeline Farquharson Episode 108: From Self-Neglect to Self-Care - Prioritizing your Needs with guest and coach Madeline Farquarson Other Resources mentioned: The Opal App Connect with Erin: Instagram: @medium.lady Email: mediumladytalks@gmail.com  Explore more book-related content on "Medium Lady Reads." - link to Spotify Instagram: @mediumladyreads

The traditional answer, centered on performance and duty, is not resonating with men today, leading many men to feel confused and disconnected from their faith. Let's let Tim share some insights with us on how we can begin to foster biblical understanding and spiritual growth in our churches. The episode focuses on the question 'What is a biblical man?' and discusses the inadequacies of traditional performance-based definitions. With statistics showing that men are disengaging from church activities and leadership, the speaker introduces three truths to redefine biblical manhood: understanding one's identity as a child of God, living life through Jesus, and viewing life from God's perspective. The speaker mentions a new model called 'The Man Journey' and emphasizes the need for identity and spiritual growth over performance. Discussions include the importance of scripture immersion, role modeling, group dynamics, and accountability. The session also highlights effective biblical study tools, discipleship, and the significance of transparent leadership to foster true spiritual growth.   Stay Informed - Get our newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hPViAr   Key Takeaways: 00:00 Introduction and Current Challenges 00:59 The Problem with Performance-Based Definitions 02:13 The Man Journey: A New Approach 02:47 Insights from a Men's Pastor 04:36 The Three Truths of Biblical Manhood 04:49 Understanding Identity in Christ 05:42 Living by the Life of Another 07:23 Freedom to Fail and Its Impact 09:37 Viewing Life from God's Perspective 23:18 Practical Applications and Group Dynamics 27:20 Understanding Identity in Christ 28:09 Modeling and Transformation 29:02 Sharing Personal Stories 31:10 The Importance of Vulnerability 37:11 Encouragement and Accountability 41:39 Vision and Discipleship 47:08 David's Example of God's Perspective Resources on Discipleship Becoming a Disciple Maker Biblical Study Tools: https://discipleship.org/resources/ebooks/  Defining Discipleship: https://discipleship.org/bobbys-blog/the-definition-of-disciple/

Three Truths That Changed My Life

All in a Homeschool Day | Charlotte Mason homeschooling | discipleship | intentional parenting

Do you remember when your children were young and how what they wanted to be when they grew up changed every few months? They were exploring their world and discovering new interests. Somewhere along the way, we started to believe that we had to choose one career path and stick to it. But let's be real for a minute. If you went to college, how many of you graduated from college with the major you started with? More recently, how often have you changed your homeschool curriculum because something just wasn't working? Rarely do we know exactly what we want and take a straight path to get there! Changing what we use for the sake of our children seems okay, but it's not okay for us to change our minds.I commented recently to a friend that it feels like I am a toddler exploring the world again or a college student trying to decide what her major should be. It's scary, confusing, and makes me a little dizzy! But it's okay. It's a part of the process of discerning where God is calling me to serve next. In this episode, I am sharing my journey of re-discovery of who I am and what I want to be when I grow up, umm, I mean when I finish my current calling of being a homeschool mom. Along the way, I'll share three important truths I learned.
