Have an idea or tip? Send us a text! What if the secret to unlocking extraordinary business performance isn't found in complex strategies, but in your approach to leadership? That's the compelling premise James Robbins, mountain climber turned leadership expert, explores in this thought-provoking conversation.Robbins takes us on a journey that begins in the Rocky Mountain foothills where he grew up and traces his unexpected path through ministry to business leadership consulting. Along the way, he reveals a fundamental truth many leaders miss: the skills that make someone excel as an individual contributor are rarely the same skills needed to lead others effectively."You can always hire a hand, but you can't hire a heart," Robbins explains, highlighting the critical distinction between compliance and commitment. True leadership happens when you trust people with meaningful work while providing both challenge and support. It's this delicate balance that creates cultures where people willingly contribute parts of themselves they've never given any previous employer. The conversation tackles the leadership challenges facing today's multi-generational workforce, with Robbins offering a refreshing perspective on Gen Z workers. Rather than viewing them as difficult, he suggests their demand for authentic leadership actually raises standards for everyone. "The problem isn't with Gen Z, the problem is with leaders," he observes, suggesting that approaching younger generations as volunteers rather than subordinates can transform engagement.Perhaps most powerfully, Robbins sReal Talk About MarketingAn Acxiom podcast where we discuss marketing made better, bringing you real...Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifyMediaclipMediaclip strives to continuously enhance the user experience while dramatically increasing revenue.Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREEIndependent Photo ImagersIPI is a member + trade association and a cooperative buying group in the photo + print industry.Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Marc & Kim talk with James Robbins, dean of academics at the Institute of World Politics, and former special assistant to the Secretary of Defense, about the recent Signal app controversy. Robbins, who has extensive experience in government security, explains how Signal is commonly used among high-level officials, including the CIA, for secure communications. He downplays the severity of the leak involving a journalist's access to National Security Council discussions, emphasizing that the content of the conversation was not highly classified. Robbins critiques the overblown reactions from some quarters, calling the outrage overblown and akin to comparing it to a Watergate-level scandal. As the investigation continues into the misdirected phone number, Robbins sheds light on the complexities of secure government communications and how human error played a part in the situation. He also discusses the work of the Institute of World Politics, a graduate school focused on national security.
Marc & Kim address several significant issues in the final hour of the Marc Cox Morning Show. The conversation begins with the ongoing controversy surrounding the Signal app, where Marc critiques political misuse and timing during a high-profile hearing. They also discuss President Trump's executive order on voting rights, focusing on the push for proof of citizenship and the partisan divide over voter ID laws. Marc critiques the left's stance on illegal immigration and voter integrity, while calling out those who seek to expand felon voting rights without ensuring election security. Later, Marc & Kim interview James Robbins, who sheds light on the Signal leak, its implications, and the overblown reactions, emphasizing that human error and not a conspiracy were to blame. The discussion shifts to the explosive developments surrounding Devin Archer's testimony and the Biden family's business dealings, particularly regarding Hunter Biden's foreign contracts. Marc ties the pardon of Archer to growing calls for transparency on corruption and the FBI's role in undermining Trump's candidacy. Finally, the show urges listeners to participate in local elections, stressing the importance of voter turnout to protect children's education and family values.
Marc & Kim break down the latest political battles, from St. Louis County Republicans blocking a resolution to honor Planned Parenthood to explosive leaks of classified info being weaponized in Washington. They also tackle the NIL controversy in college sports, questioning if it's turning athletes into paid professionals. Plus, Todd Pyro joins for a lively chat, Kim gets personal about parenting, and James Robbins sheds light on the Signal app controversy and government security. Don't miss the heated debates, inside scoops, and plenty of laughs along the way.

The Western world has produced some of the most prosperous and most free civilizations on earth. What makes the West exceptional? How is America to be defined? By its failures or its triumphs? Today, there seems to be an obsession with the former and a dismissal of the latter. Is this dark vision of the freest and most prosperous nation on earth an accurate narrative or a cynical distortion? How we view America's past will very much shape America's future. Milton Nkosi recalls the risks taken to keep the name of Nelson Mandela alive in the townships during his long years of imprisonment; Hamilton Wende on what it was like, as a white South African, growing up in a country where even talking of Mr Mandela could be dangerous and James Robbins on the long-awaited day when the man who went on to lead the country was freed from prison and appeared before a jubilant crowd in Cape Town.
