//The Wire//2300Z May 16, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: CRYPTOCURRENCY EXCHANGE COINBASE HACKED, CUSTOMER DATA BREACHED. MASS GRAVE SITE FOUND IN MEXICO. CARTEL OBSERVATION POSTS DESTROYED ON USA/MEX BORDER.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Mexico: Earlier this week a mass grave and Cartel corpse processing center was discovered at an abandoned ranch roughly 40 miles west of Guadalajara. The discovery was made by local private citizens attempting to find the bodies of known Cartel victims, and this site had been known to serve in a variety of roles over the years by members of the CJNG Cartel.AC: This site is not a new revelation; a hostage recovery operation was conducted at this exact compound last year. This ranch was formerly used as a hitman training site, but over the years was relegated to serving as an extermination camp. As this was a well known site, there was some speculation that the compound had probably been used as burial site as well. Because local authorities were not interested in investigating this, a small group of local citizens gained access to the compound to search for human remains, of which many were found. Local authorities (which have now been forced to acknowledge the site), have urged local citizens to help identify the clothing found in six mass graves found at the site. Due to the high-profile nature of this discovery, civil unrest has been reported throughout several cities in Mexico, as citizens express dissatisfaction with the Cartels engaging in this kind of brutality on an industrial scale.-HomeFront-Arizona: Two Cartel-affiliated Observation Posts were destroyed yesterday morning. The first OP was located west of Ajo, and the second was located near Nogales.Washington D.C. - Scandal has emerged surrounding a post made by former FBI Director James Comey, in which he posted a photo on Instagram that contained a threatening reference commonly used as a coded incitement of violence against President Trump. Comey posted a photo containing the numbers "8647", which has become a term very commonly used by malign actors in the United States to express their desire to "86" (or dispose of) the 47th President, Donald Trump. James Comey has since removed the post and stated that he did not know what it meant.USA: Another major scandal has emerged regarding a major cryptocurrency exchange failing to protect customer data. A few days ago Coinbase (arguably the biggest crypto exchange in the world) announced that they had been hacked. The hackers claimed to have accessed most private customer data on the site, and have demanded $20 million as a ransom for not posting this information on the internet.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: This morning, statements from Coinbase and the CEO have shed light on what really happened...and it doesn't look good. In short, Coinbase outsourced their customer support services to the Third World. As it turns out, when you hire employees from an impoverished nation and pay them peanuts while giving them unchecked access to private customer information...they might be inclined to accept a bribe to leak that data. Right now, this appears to be what happened. American politicians are also not entirely off the hook for this scandal either. The reason that there is so much data to steal in the first place is due to KYC or "Know Your Customer" laws that make privacy illegal. Many people who are not involved in the world of cryptocurrency do not know that it's not an anonymous experience by any means...buying and selling crypto is the hard part since 100% of crypto exchanges based in the United States and Europe have to abide by KYC laws that force customers to hand over their drivers license, bank account numbers, social security number, home address, IRS tax information, a series of selfie photos or a 3d scan of a person's head...pretty much all of t

1. Debt swaps Jo Cook (AKA Jo Crook, Swappy Jo) real name Richard O'Neil Mark DeKoning Merchant Shares (MS Tokens) 2. Rule changes Earning Junction was a “fast” RevShare with multiple levels of ad packs and earnings ranging from 3-10% daily. Obviously funds ran out rather quickly. In order to combat this, the admin lowered the daily ROI. This did nothing to encourage people to deposit as most users just saw this as lower earnings and were not concerned about the stability of a program. Mark then decided it was time to completely revamp the program under a new name, with part of the profits going to EJ, in order to pay old members their full investment. 3. Family Emergency Nothing but an excuse Han launched the best RevShare of 2015 “hands down!” or so we thought. Han was active here on PE. The ranks were climbing in Alexa at god speed. Referrals were coming in thanks to the advertising on HQ. It was a solid product. While we had so must trust in him, he started admining for another site (EarningTraffic) and used the same PayPal account there. But then Han started having “personal" issues - a family death. Servers on HQ were at a crawl. Earnings likewise. It's unclear whether or not he was actually depressed and going through these circumstances but either way he disappeared with our money in two different websites. 4. Admin opens up another program The admin opens up another site “mid game” running at the same time. That means he's abandoning the old one. Han HQRevShare to EarningTraffic Paul/Biz2Days on MMG (TrafficBoot/KooAd) 5. Admin fails to provide “service” adequately If basic functions don't work that means a short lifespan Triple Thr3at (Ray Scott) This was the first RevShare of its kind. The name implied what it was all about: triple, meaning three, steps to earn. It included 1) A subscription fee 2) Ad packs/revshare 3) Newsletter ads The rules and design of this program inspired a HUGE onslaught of copycats. It probably could've lasted a bit longer, but the advertising (product) didn't even work. As most RevShares, you were required to surf 10 ads per day. However, it was NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to do so. Surfing reset on SERVER TIME midnight (EST), rather than a user-based 24 hour clock. The servers would become overloaded because everyone wanted to maximize their earnings and surf as soon as the clock reset. The site would crash and it would take a few hours, at least, until the traffic slowed down a bit and make it stabilized enough to navigate the website. The admin decided to then shut off the surfing requirement completely, which means people were earning, but advertisers weren't getting the views that they paid for. The newsletter, which was supposed to feature a solo ad, was only sent out twice ever, even though it was supposed to be sent out daily. Furthermore, there were payment processor issues with PayPal (surprise! surprise!) The admin made a whole video of him calling PayPal and asking for a refund to no avail. Payment delays were inevitable. The admin developed this rather selfish and angry attitude, saying quote “people aren't buying ad packs for the advertising...duh!” He made it clear that he built this business for a quick buck and just didn't care about the product that he was supposed to be selling. Along with all of this, he changed the subscription fee from monthly to weekly. He claimed that you could NOT receive a cash out unless you paid the subscription fee. If you canceled your membership or failed to renew it in time, your cash out would also automatically be taken out of the queue and canceled. This was a bullshit rule because some people were waiting for a smaller cash out than the price of the renewal fee. Long story short, the admin had a faulty product and never fixed it. 6. Blame it on the Hackers Legit DDOS attack or not, programs rarely survive the aftermath of one. 7. Lawsuits, dirty lawsuits 8. Begging for deposits Uday Nara straight up admitting My Paying Ads was sending out more money than it received. "People aren't buying the ad packs for the advertising...DUH!" - Ray Scott 9. Daily Earnings significantly drop 10. Limited Time deals Sector (Ore-Mine) This was an interesting gamification of investing. You could buy mines and upgrade them. Higher level mines brought in higher profits. The design looked like something straight from the 90s era of bad web design. Nonetheless, Ore-Mine was a steady 2% weekly and continued to pay for over a year The admin was very friendly and active on BitTalk. The userbase was growing steadily, plans to implement other cryptocoins were in the work, but the admin got greedy and decided to sell special Holiday Mines. These mines offered a very fast mining rate for a limited time. However, before these mines could even hit BEP, the site was “shut down by a governmental body” aka SCAM! The photoshop of the certificate of “Seizure” from the United States Global Illicit financial Team was almost as bad as the web design itself. 11. Selective or Delayed Payments Lack of support or communication 12. Payment Processor Troubles PayPal catastrophe Charles Scoville from Traffic Monsoon 13. Server Issues & Site Maintenance Sometimes servers crash or sites need maintenece. Even big sites like Facebook can go down. But if it lasts anything more than 24 hours, that's very strange and unusual. Something's up Akash Patil (Mighty Shares) Another Passsive Earner member who even made a cute little anime avatar, as many of us have here. He was very communicative and open to suggestions. The original launch was delayed because he wanted to iron out the kinks and assure everything launched smoothly. In the mean time, he decided to change the ad pack plan based on members' feedback. He had a big pre-launch sale on ads as well. The site launched and failed - ridden with server issues. He kept members informed on PE and Facebook about the status of the server issues. The servers were never fixed. 14. Admin splurges Dave Grohl (AdzShareClub) The former drummer of grunge rock band Nirvana and front liner of Foo Fighters. Oh wait. Wrong Dave Grohl. PayPal rejected this guy's program after a few days and he promised to refund anyone that invested using PP. Well not only did he decide to take the money and run (and not refund anyone), but he also went as far as to brag about how many adpacks he was buying in other RevShare groups on Facebook. The guy wasn't even subtle. Jo Cook * Pictures with girlfriend on exotic vacations and fancy restaurants Ray Scott (Triple Thr3at Marketing) literally posting pictures of him posing with Benjamins 15. Vague Promises Alex Sengphong (Cheklisting) “real talk” vlogs about the RevShare model. He promised to bring in legitimate income to compensate the “RevShare side of things”. He motivated many to believe in his “vision.” Little did we know his vision was running off with our money and having a nice holiday in the Carribean or some place nice. Jeremy Rush (Zukul Ad Netowork). Guarunteed referrals. 16. There's a sketchy software to download Jeremy Jones He offered cryptocurrency called" RVCoin”. RVCoin was mined by installing a toolbar in your browser. As long as you had the toolbar installed, you would see ads from advertisers at ATM2You. Each ad would give you a small amount of RVCoin. There was alsi a market for these coins. The price was skyrocketing for a while, averaging 4% profit daily. It then crashed. Hard. At this point, Jeremy offered “insurance” on investments. By paying a 10% fee to your RVCoin purchase, the price you could sell it at would never be lower than the price you bought it at (minus the 10% fee). Regaining confidence, the RVCoin market continued to climb for weeks, long after the site stopped paying. Oh and on top of run ning away with money, the toolbar he got people to install was actually infected with malware and he stole people's payment processor account passwords then swiped up everything he could from those accounts. 17. They ask to verify your identity Merchant Shares Nick Johnson (Click Intensity) A solid revshare that stopped payments because of scammers. He then claimed in order to prevent future scammers from stealing the KYT, that's Know Your Customer, standards. Coincidentally, the only future scammer in this program was the admin himself. Under KYT, people were required to send very personal documents, including a government issue ID, proof of address, and other sensitive data. He continued payments for a while, but then ran into “payment processor issues”. After further investigation, by simply contacting the payment processor in question, it was clear that Nick Johnson completely made that up. Some people say “Nick Johnson” is not even his real name and is just a psedo name with an actor he hired. He continues to post videos and blogs about how they're coming back and still going to pay. Lies. This guy not only stole money, but also people's identity. He has copies of personal documents and even some accounts are linked to Google+ profiles. 18. Copy Pasta Inspiration is one thing but stealing is another. It's okay to copy (& procrastinaste) as long as you make it your own. It's NOT okay to straight up take something someone else made and say you made it. This shows the admin only knows how to steal and not run a program. Danielle Christopher Playing off the hype of the new RevShare model TT3 brought us, this guy decided to make his own clone. He cloned it alright to a tee. Literally, he copy/pasted the script, code, and even content from Triple Thr3at. He went so far as to leave the names of the Triple Thr3at admins in the Terms & Conditions. 19. Pre-Launch It could close before it even opens or soon after Zukul Ad Network 20. Winter is coming

Olivia Hu, Head of Autonomous Trucking, Uber Freight joined Grayson Brulte on The Road to Autonomy podcast to discuss how autonomous trucking is going to complement and accelerate the growth of Uber Freight's $18 billion of freight under management platform. The conversation begins with Olivia discussing the current state of the autonomous trucking industry. The autonomous trucking industry right now is just at this very exciting moment, when its going from purely a technology and R&D pilot or project to let's look at go to market. What is the long-term strategy? How do we bring different ecosystem players from OEMs, Tier 1s, autonomous trucking developers, maintenance providers, fleets, shippers, networks like ourselves all together to start planing that long-term commercialization strategy? – Olivia HuCollectivity the autonomous trucking industry is preparing for the next phase — commercialization. When commercialization begins in earnest, Uber Freight stands to benefit as they will be the platform that connects the autonomous trucking companies with the freight. The first autonomous trucking lanes to come online will be in the Texas Triangle, from Dallas/Fort Worth to Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth to El Paso. These lanes will be used to learn how autonomous trucks operate in a commercial environment and what the operations will look like when at scale. When autonomous trucks are operating at scale, the industry will have to build and maintain public trust. One of the best ways in our opinion to build public trust is to host an “Autonomous Trucking Grocery Store Day” where everything in the store is 20% off for one-day because it was delivered by an autonomous truck. Autonomous Trucking Grocery Store Daydemonstrates to the public the positive economic that autonomous trucks will have on the cost of living as they suffer under high inflation. As it relates to professional drivers, fleets and shippers, Uber Freight is also working to build trust and educate them about how autonomous trucks could fit into and compliment their existing operations. For me, what's most important about building trust is being very transparent, honest and giving them the time to ask questions. – Olivia HuWhen Uber Freight brings autonomous trucking partners onto the platform they engage in a KYC process (Know Your Customer) that evaluates the company's safety framework including the safety culture, technical capabilities, leadership team and the go-to-market strategy. We think having the right go-to-market strategy will be really critical and that includes working with other ecosystem players like OEMs, like ourselves, network providers, shippers and fleets. – Olivia HuUber Freight's KYC policy was developed and implemented to limit the potential risks that might arise if and when regulation takes hold in the industry. Today, Uber Freight has partnerships with Aurora and Waabi and previously had a partnership with Waymo Via prior to the division being shutdown. In the future, Uber Freight will look to add more partners to the platform, but they will not partner with every autonomous trucking company. We only partner if it makes sense. If we truly believe that they have a safe reliable product with a long-term strategy that is the right commercial application for our customers. – Olivia HuThe right long-term strategy is one that is grounded in economics that enables pricing power. Uber Freight's Insights AI tool gives their customers to optimize their operations, pricing structure and what lanes make the most sense to deploy autonomous trucks.Wrapping up the conversation, Olivia discusses the role the Uber Freight will play as autonomous trucking scales. The Supreme Court has granted certiorari to review two big state laws trying to impose limits on social media censorship (or “curation,” if you prefer) of platform content. Paul Stephan and I spar over the right outcome, and the likely vote count, in the two cases. One surprise: we both think that the platforms' claim of a first amendment right to curate content  is in tension with their claim that they, uniquely among speakers, should have an immunity for their “speech.” Maury weighs in to note that the EU is now gearing up to bring social media to heel on the “disinformation” front. That fight will be ugly for Big Tech, he points out, because Europe doesn't mind if it puts social media out of business, since it's an American industry. I point out that elites all across the globe have rallied to meet and defeat social media's challenge to their agenda-setting and reality-defining authority. India is aggressively doing the same.  Paul covers another big story in law and technology. The FTC has sued Amazon for antitrust violations—essentially price gouging and tying. Whether the conduct alleged in the complaint is even a bad thing will depend on the facts, so the case will be hard fought. And, given the FTC's track record, no one should be betting against Amazon. Nick Weaver explains the dynamic behind the massive MGM and Caesars hacks. As with so many globalized industries, ransomware now has Americans in marketing (or social engineering, if you prefer) and foreign technology suppliers. Nick thinks it's time to OFAC ‘em all. Maury explains the latest bulk intercept decision from the European Court of Human Rights. The UK has lost again, but it's not clear how much difference that will make. The ruling says that non-Brits can sue the UK over bulk interception, but the court has already made clear that, with a few legislative tweaks, bulk interception is legal under the European human rights convention. More bad news for 230 maximalists: it turns out that Facebook can be sued for allowing advertisers to target ads based on age and gender. The platform slipped from allowing speech to being liable for speech because it facilitated advertiser's allegedly discriminatory targeting.  The UK competition authorities are seeking greater access to AI's inner workings to assess risks, but Maury Shenk is sure this is part of a light touch on AI regulation that is meant to make the UK a safe European harbor for AI companies. In a few quick hits and updates: I explain the splintered PCLOB report that endorses 702 renewal, with widely diverging proposals for reform. Paul tells us that the Biden Administration plans to bring back “net neutrality” rules. Hey, if we get to choose which golden oldie to revive, I actually liked the macarena more. I flag an issue likely to spark a surprisingly bitter clash between the administration and cloud providers – Know Your Customer rules. The government thinks it's irresponsible from a cybersecurity point of view to let randos spin up virtual machines. The industry doesn't think the market will tolerate any other way of doing business.  Speaking of government-industry clashes, it looks like Apple is caught between Chinese demands that it impose tough new controls on apps in its app store and, well, human decency. Maury has the story. And I've got a solution. Apple should just rebrand its totalitarian new controls as “app curation.” Seems to be working for everyone else. The Next Generation of Caller ID is all about KYC...is all about Vetted Identity? Darth Vader. No, really! Brett Nemeroff, VP of Engineering, Voice of Numeracle, was putting together a slide deck for the company's masterclass series, on caller ID when Darth Vader called. That was the name being displayed as the incoming call on the Brett's phone. Brett answered the call, where Mr. Vader graciously explained that he's a real estate broker, that, with non-telecom engineering skills, simply logged into his account and set his name as Darth Vader. “It just underscores the problem with caller-Id, that it's not a source we can trust,” says Nemeroff. “It does not take a tremendous amount of technical competence to figure out how to change your name and to ultimately how to change it to something that might make it more likely to get answered by somebody.” In this podcast, Brett discusses how this degradation of the caller-ID service has impacted the utility of by phone communications. Basically, people have lost trust in being able to know who'd calling. That, combined with an ocean of nuisance and scam calls, has devastated the utility of simple outbound calling as a way of communicating. “It all starts with KYC, Know Your Customer,” says Brett. Brett discusses guidance on understanding and defending privacy and security in a world of continuous changes and challenges, as well as the responsibilities and roles in this defense. We get insights into how Numeracle's Entity Identity Management™ (EIM) and Verified Identity™ associate and manage the identity of communications, supporting evolving regulations and standards. Brett offers a perspective on the future of phone calls and the telecommunications industry, including an understanding of how to progress forward with expertise and integrity Numeracle is an industry pioneer and leader with actionable solutions for legal callers that prioritizes their calling identity as the foundation to restoring trust in the voice channel and to their calls by removing barriers, like improper spam labels, from harming their phone numbers. Numeracle's Entity Identity Management™ (EIM) platform puts enterprise brands, BPOs, and service providers in direct control of their identity, which we vet and verify. Our EIM platform can also be used to manage branded communications, to improve call reputation with blocking and labeling prevention and spam label remediation, and we provide visibility into call display to ensure brand identity is presented as intended, with transparency and consistency. After seeing the DeFi summer and recognizing some of its pain points, he had the idea of bringing credit and investments to a sustainable and impactful level by using overcollateralized real-world assets, and with a stable yield.Time Stamps00:00 - 05:18: Who's Chaim05:19 - 08:48: Aha Moment08:49 - 16:13: Credix Finance16:14 - 18:13: Brazil and World18:14 - 24:17: Dealing with Traditional Companies24:18 - 26:38: USDC26:39 - 28:36: What's Next?28:37 - 30:12: Focused On30:13 - 32:18: Is the World Ready?32:19 - 35:08: Keeping Track of the Loan35:09 - 36:57: Its everything going to be on-chain?36:58 - 38:29: Crypto Community on Brazil38:30 - 42:35: Rounding OffGuest SocialsTwitter: https://twitter.com/chaim_fesCredix Twitter: https://twitter.com/credix_financeWebsite: https://credix.finance/GlossaryKYC: KYC stands for Know Your Customer, which refers to the process of verifying the identity of customers to prevent money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes.DeFi: DeFi stands for Decentralized Finance, which refers to a system of financial applications built on blockchain technology that aims to provide open and permissionless access to financial services, such as lending, borrowing, and trading, without intermediaries like banks or other traditional financial institutions.APY: APY stands for Annual Percentage Yield, which is a measure of the return on investment over a year, taking into account compound interest.Podcast Host: BunzyTwitter: https://twitter.com/0xBunzyBlockTalk || Pineapple WorkshopWebsite: https://pineappleworkshop.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/poweredby_pwDiscord: https://discord.gg/geNCbMYsZY

There has been a lot of conversation and drama around the idea of contingent staking and the Cardano blockchain allowing a Know Your Customer process to be integrated into the blockchain. This will then allow stake pool operators to gate delegation to their stake pools in order to comply with regulation. This thing is, none of this regulation is enforce or is completely defined and targeted towards any blockchain at the moment. The SEC is mainly looking into exchanges that provide these types of staking services where the consumer gives up their assets in order to earn a yield in return.Chapters00:00 Intro00:27 Backstory02:08 Krakens Staking Program04:49 US Infrastructure Bill05:54 How Does It Affect Cardano?06:27 Drama Debate 08:01 How Contingent Staking Might Work08:59 Should You Be Worried?10:09 CardanoPress NFT Whitelisting

On today's episode, host Katya Allison is joined by Margherita Maspero, Head of Brand and Communications at Know Your Customer.Margherita is an exceptional B2B marketer, working to provide businesses with the technology needed to meet their industry regulations. For marketers in similar positions, she offers some words of advice:- Finding a voice and marketing niche is just as important for B2B marketing as it is for B2C marketing.- B2B marketing revolves more around logical reasoning than emotional decision-making.- There's still room for differentiation in B2B marketing, even if there's a limited number of sales arguments to be made.- Data has to be the primary driver in deciding when to let go of a particular marketing campaign.- Patience is essential. Don't let a campaign go too early just because it doesn't see immediate success.Margherita's advice can help B2B marketers refine marketing efforts to find greater success.Margherita Maspero | Twitter - https://twitter.com/maggiemasperoKnow Your Customer - https://knowyourcustomer.com/Know Your Customer | Twitter - https://twitter.com/KYC_ltdKatya Allison | LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/katyaallison/GRIN | LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/grin-inc-/#Content #influencermarketing #ecommerce #creatormanagement
