How to create a fun, new tradition. Grateful Friday.Ugly sweater party.
I ran to the kitchen, what did I see? A Christmas podcast, from Mike and Ethan to ME! Our war on Christmas continues with a five-special marathon, all about Christmas and all involving BEARS! Christmas seems to have a lot more to do with bears than you'd think, huh? Our partygoers are subjected to The Twelve Days of Christmas, Why The Bears Dance At Christmas, Santabear's High Flying Adventure, Snowden's Christmas, and even Koopa Klaus is coming to town— with a bear! (The bear is “Captain” Lou Albano.)
It's time for a Greenfield Christmas! The boys talk about going on the WDVE Christmas Party. Mike performed at Matt Light's Ugly Sweater Party at the Pittsburgh Improv. And most of the guys slept through the Steelers game. Salt Bae is a weasel for holding the World Cup Trophy. The NFL is going to have a freezing week. John's blood is boiling from road rage. Jack's tired of John calorie counting his meal. And we ask the big questions, like if you'd rather fight a Kangaroo or look like Sam Cassell. Downtown Haverhill springs to life tonight with holiday spirit as the Haverhill Hometown Holiday Celebration kicks of the season. The event, formerly known as the Christmas Stroll, runs between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. One of its volunteers, Melissa Seavey of Bethany Communities, gave an overview for WHAV listeners during an appearance on WHAV's morning show.“It's a little different from past strolls. This year, we are calling it the ‘Haverhill Hometown Holiday Celebration.' This is being hosted by the city, and then there are some volunteers like Destination Downtown Haverhill and L'Arche and the Chamber of Commerce that are all helping out with it. So, we're really excited to bring a little something back to downtown Haverhill after a couple of years of COVID and things being quieter,” she said.Haverhill's tree lighting, complete with a visit by Santa, in Washington Square, begins around 6:30 p.m. There will also be live musical performances at G's Restaurant, 35 Washington St., and an Ugly Sweater Party at Peddler's Daughter, 45 Wingate St. Voting takes place for a number of awards including best Interior Décor, Best Outside Decore, best Hometown Holiday Event and the Charlie Brown Tree Award. It’s the very 38th episode of Forsaken Cinema Podcast!!! This week Chuck and Mel chit chat (and by chit chat I mean "have a semi-heated discussion about") the new(ish) film “The Wolf of Snow Hollow”. We’re calling it a “comedy-mystery-cop drama-horror” movie that one of your hosts really enjoyed, and one found pretentious and irritating. Tune in to find out just who the grumpy guss was this week… We also laugh through a very weird and fun conversation about Frank Henenlotter’s bizzarro comedy horror film “Brain Damage”; a conversation full of topics like blue waffle penises, Melissa's love for giant, showering body builders with sweet mustaches, and just how irritating listening to 2 old people scream for 5 minutes is. This one was super fun and we hope all you freaks enjoy it!! ------ Also discussed: “Gremlins” (1984) “Gremlins 2” (1990) “His House” (Currently on Netflix) “Ugly Sweater Party” (2018) “Valley of the Dragons” (1961) ——— If you dig the show, PLEASE! Episode 005: It's crazy to think that this week is the two year anniversary since I was let go from my last job. It was a weird day, it didn't feel like the other last days of work I had in the past. It was exciting because I knew the following week was going to be the start of a new focus, dedicating my full time to Find Me in Seattle. I go to this annual Ugly Sweater Party and I remember the day I got let go, I went to this same party, and now that I am going again this year, it's fun to reflect on that moment. This week I am starting two new segments: Meal of the Week, and Featured Business of the Week and here they are: Meal of the Week: Shredded Chicken Congee from Congeez in Uwajimaya in the International District. Congee is an Asian Rice Porridge that is complimented by a meat and topped with spices. Congeez comes with a lot of ginger which is great for sick and/or rainy days. Featured Business of the Week: Low Rider Baking Company - Emily started Low Rider as a cookie popup, which she started to take to farmer's markets. She then grew into a space in Georgetown and then to a physical retail location in the Central District. She was actually one of the first brands to ever work with Find Me in Seattle when she reached out and asked if I would promote her company in exchange for a box of cookies. I ended up taking the box around the city on the 62 bus line and took pictures with the cookies at Green Lake, The Fremont Troll and Downtown Seattle. My pro tip, make sure to get a birthday cake cookie and the Oreo cookie. However, she has these new stuffed cookies that are amazing. If you don't have plans on Saturday April 14th, make sure you check out the Green Lake Pathway of Lights! Check out my website: findmeinseattle.com

The promo slug for last year's Ugly Sweater Party is as follows: "An ugly sweater party turns into a bloodbath when an evil Christmas sweater possesses one of the partygoers." Sounds simple, but the film ends up to be something a lot more. This includes a character hallucinating and imagining a thrash band is playing inside a cabin with him. That band is Omicida, the Los Angeles thrash act. It's kind of a weird story as to how it all happened, so we were excited to speak with the band's Roman Kovalik, who also composed the film's score.

On this weeks episode we talk about what could be the worst movie we have covered to date, yes worse that Terror Vision. IMDB Americas Deadliest Home Videos TUCSON, ARIZONA, January 31, 2019—Arizona-based filmmakers Brandy Mason and Tim Fattig today announced the launch of the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for their upcoming horror/comedy film Ed and the Living Dead, a violent, darkly funny zombie tale set in the summer of 1959 and featuring the “world's worst filmmaker,” Edward D. Wood, Jr. (Plan 9 From Outer Space, Glen or Glenda). “The zombie film is an incredibly durable sub-genre, but sometimes it needs a little twist to be really engaging,” said producer/director Mason (a horror veteran with more than thirty credits, among them Don't Fuck in the Woods and its upcoming sequel, WrestleMassacre, and Rednecks) . “Dropping iconic figures like Ed Wood and Criswell into the mix and setting the film in the 1950s instantly changes what the audience will expect from the story.” Ed and the Living Dead features a fantastic cast of established and rising stars from the horror world. Jason Crowe (Volumes of Blood, The Bad Man) stars as the high-strung director Ed Wood, while David E. McMahon (American Guinea Pig: The Song of Solomon, Bonehill Road) plays Wood's long-suffering film producer George Weiss. Also starring in this much-anticipated zomb-edy: Angela Pritchett (Steve: Death Collector, Partners); Vida Ghaffari (Holy Terror, RoboWoman), Kaylee Williams (Mrs. Claus, Ahockalypse), Charles Chudabala (Escape From Ensenada, Ugly Sweater Party), Ryan Brewer (Larry and the Monsters, Never Been to Graceland), Julie Anne Prescott (Clown Motel: Spirits Arise, Meathook Massacre 4), Brett DeJager (director of Bonejangles and Cryptids), Mindy Gilkerson (The Second Coming, Art of the Dead), Nick Payne (All Eyez on Me, Kickboxer: Retaliation), and Maria Olsen (Paranormal Activity 3, Starry Eyes). Acclaimed musician and film composer Rocky Gray (The Barn, 10/31) will be providing the film's score. Illustrator William Skaar (Heavy Metal, Deanna of the Dead) designed the teaser poster for the film. Ed and the Living Dead indiegogo Tee Public Store
Writer/Director Aaron Mento loved horror movies like “A Nightmare on Elm Street” as a child growing up in New Jersey and New York, by the time his family moved to San Diego he started making handy cam shorts like “A Fist Full of Asteroids". After receiving his M.F.A. from Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television he found himself working a day job that caused an ocular migraine. The experience woke him up and the decision to start making movies now inspired him to name his production company Ocular Migrane Productions. Aaron deep dives into the works of David Lynch with J. and Sean and shares the unique process he went through to make his latest release “Ugly Sweater Party”. The 90’s movie of the Week was “Boomerang” starring Eddie Murphy, Halle Berry, and Robin Givens. We have a conversation about the amount of rape culture in the movie, some of Marcus’ outlandish statements, if Yvonne was a hater, who is more pickier between men and women, if Marcus was played by Lady Eloise, if we have ever been attracted to our manager, why men try to woo women with bs, why do people want people they can’t have, if you can be pussywhipped/dickmatized, friends dating and/or sleeping with someone you were once involved with, and if Angela was a rebound. We get into what’s going on and talk about Mwanje finishing a reading goal, the Netflix original “Bright,” the early preview of the Showtime original “The Chi,” how Black women killed it this year, the very sad death of Erica Garner (RIP), and Jay-Z’s “Family Feud” music video directed by Ava DuVernay.
