And have been having a good time learning a lot. As I mentioned last night, there's a whole lot of business inventions that you can gain from, from looking at businesses that work because businesses that work because they feed people, they feed people something that people want, good or bad, they they do their job. They provide something valuable to people for money and if you can take that and translate it back to your business, look at what's actually being sold. The real question is, what is what are you really selling? If you're in business what are you actually selling? I don't mean the product. I don't mean the service itself. I don't mean all the features and the way you would go about describing it. I'm talking about what you're actually selling. And here's an example. So is from a customer standpoint, right? My wife and I are here with my three kids. And I said this really weird thing. So we're staying at the Legoland Hotel. It's this place here. It's pretty wild. I mean, this is in the middle of the night, everyone's while middle of the night. I think is nine o'clock or something but everyone's asleep. The kids have gone to bed, and everything's nice and quiet but it's still lit up and everything else, it's still pretty magnificent to look at. But back to my story. If you think about what we're actually getting from all of this. I sat back and was talking with my wife and I said, You know what, the thing that I've gotten the most out of this experience is, this is probably the calmest I've ever been being out in public with people and my kids. And I was trying to put my finger on and that occurred to me most of the time. So I've got three little kids, I've got a seven-year-old, four-year-old, a two-year-old and they're chaos. Not necessarily in a bad way. Most of them, they're good kids, but they're's chaos. They're just chaotic little beings and everywhere you take them, you're trying to keep them from either hurting themselves or causing destruction everywhere they go. And that's not a bad thing. It's just part of having kids and being in public with other people. And people who don't have kids, they didn't understand it. It's tougher, even if you've had kids at one time. I know my parents they are not as patient the with the kids necessarily as we are because they're just not around them as often and every little thing irks them a little more, you know. And so it's one of those things where you're always kind of on edge when you're out in public with the kids, you're trying to keep them from hurting themselves because the world is not childproof. You're trying at the same time you're trying to keep them from getting in the way of everybody else. You try and keep them from being getting lost and running off and getting into this and that. Here, this whole place is relatively childproof. I mean, it's childproof because it for one thing it has to be because the only people that come here are kids and kids a very specific age group, for the most part, are the ones that are really geared to Legoland, unlike something like Disneyland, which we're going to tomorrow, so maybe I'll be able to do a message from there but different story. You're talking about Disneyland, the whole vibe of Disneyland the way it was designed, was to play to kids and kids at heart, so to play to everyone that wants to have a little bit of childhood innocence. And so, adults go to Disneyland on a regular basis now. Kids go to Disneyland of course always will but it isn't just for them....

It’s one of the most encouraging signs that life is starting to return to normal: California theme parks have reopened. In this episode of the California Now Podcast, host Soterios Johnson chats with insiders from three Golden State parks about what to expect this summer. He first visits with Jon Corfino of Universal Studios Hollywood, who talks about the pleasure of being back. “There’s real joy in seeing people’s reactions,” he says. “The energy is just something I have never seen before.” He offers details about the park’s two big debuts: the high-tech ride The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash, and the thrillingly fierce Indominus rex at Jurassic World—The Ride. Next, Johnson chats with two folks about Disneyland Resort: Ambassador Rafa Barron and Plan Disney specialist Kiki Yee, who each have their own tips for exploring the Anaheim park. Recommended highlights include Snow White’s Enchanted Wish and the new Avengers Campus, which opens June 4. Finally, Johnson is joined by Dominic Ashford, head of resort experience at LEGOLAND California, where the summer is kicking off with the introduction of a massive new land—The LEGO Movie World.

This month's news: • In American theme parks it’s really been a story of two coasts. California has accepted the worsening Covid situation over the last month while Florida has continued to ignore the fact that anything is happening. • In southern California, a new Regional Stay Home came into effect, as ICU capacity in the 11-county region has dropped below the prescribed 15 percent. This spelled the end of numerous planned Christmas events including the Taste of Knotts Merry Farm and the Holidays at Legoland event at Legoland California. • Disney has respond to the stay at home order by moving one of its famous food offerings. The iconic Disneyland hand-dipped corn dog is now on the menu at the Magic Kingdom's Sleepy Hollow. • Disneyland did share a preview of its newly redesigned Snow White ride in Fantasyland, which will be renamed Snow White’s Enchanted Wish. • In Florida, all the resorts have increased capacity again, with universal Orlando having 4 days over the Christmas break where they reached full capacity. • They also did a vehicle reveal for their up coming Velocicoaster. • They also opened Universal's Endless Summer Resort - Dockside Inn and Suites, adding 2,050 budget-priced guest rooms for visitors to the resort. • At Epcot they’ve opened the new fountain and entrance plaza. • They installed the massive new platforms that will help stage the upcoming Harmonious nighttime show on World Showcase Lagoon. • The woman who started the Ratatouille musical on TikTok was flown from New York to get a sneak peek at the new Ratatouille ride. • And they announced the "Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival" will run from March 3, 2021 through July 5. • In general WDW news, Disney's Blizzard Beach water park will reopen to guests for the 2021 season on March 7. • Outside the US is also a mixed bag, with Europe largely closed as the second wave hits hard over there. Efteling was the biggest park to close in December as most of the others had already closed. • In Japan, Tokyo Disney has announced its pricing will increase on weekends and holidays from March 20th. • Probably the most exciting theme park news for this month was from Universal Studios Japan, where we got our first official glimpse inside Super Nintendo World with a video hosted by the creator of Mario Shigeru Miyamoto. The video was packed with insane details of this much anticipated land, and is very much worth watching. • The land is also in a soft opening phase, where annual pass holders can preview the land, with strict rules around the distribution of media from the land. The official opening date of the land is February 4th, 2021.

Ken Potrock, President of the Disneyland Resort, Kurt Stocks, President of Legoland California, Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Studios Hollywood, and Raffi Kaprelyan, Regional Vice President for Cedar Fair, which operates Knott’s Berry Farm were on the stream. Good points were made by each of them, such as local residents might be traveling out of state to go to theme parks since the local ones aren’t open, helping with the COVID-19 spread. Overall, the group of theme park leaders were not happy. – https://www.facebook.com/CaAttractionsandParks/ The Orange County Register reported this week that the Southern California theme parks are considering legal action to gain permission to reopen, or, at the very least, change the guidelines for reopening. However, others got messages from Disney that the furloughs have become layoffs. Over 200 cast members will be retuning to work on Buena Vista Street starting COVID training on November 1st. – https://www.micechat.com/273627-disneyland-update-the-nightmare-before-christmas/ Another Downtown Disney shopping event is happening from October 26th-29th.
