In the fifty-second episode of Making Mt. Rushmore, host/moderator/panelist Steve Riddle welcomes Andy Atherton and Chad Campbell to discuss which Amusement Park Rides/Attractions deserve a place on their respective lists. Is Avatar: Flights of Passage a no-brainer? What about the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror? Does Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance grab a spot? Does the Haunted Mansion or Soarin' deserve a place? After that, they discuss which Amusement Park Roller Coasters will be part of that grouping. Can you argue that the Velocicoaster shouldn't get a spot? Will The Beast be included? Is the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in the conversation? What about the Lightning Rod or Lightning Racers? Then, they do an unprecendented third list and discuss which Amusement Parks make that list. Do you believe that Walt Disney World should be included? What about Universal Studios: Islands of Adventure? Can you argue that Dollywood deserves a spot? Are Disneyland and Hersheypark part of the conversation?

This video has permeated pop culture, even as far as Rolling Stone Magazine. Glen and Jason discuss the points that Nicholson makes and wonders if Disney will respond by listening to the critics or if they will dismiss it and only focus on stock prices. They also talk about “influencers” in general. Glen also picked up some melting rebels! Yes, we are a bit late (okay, about two weeks late) on getting this ERT out but we now know how important Paul is to the process.  Yep, he got the flu and it messed up the entire process.  The good news is that he is back and he finally got this ERT edited and ready to go. The 125 Roller Coaster Challenge is based in the mid atlantic and because of that, their coaster season usually does not launch til April but this year was an exception.  Trips to Busch Gardens Tampa, Sea World Orlando, Universal Studios - Islands of Adventure and even Busch Gardens Williamsburg have already occurred and because of that, Paul got to ride three to the newest and most anticipated coasters of the year.  Yes, Paul in a three week span got to ride VelociCoaster, Pantheon, and Iron Gwazi and in this episode, he will review them and give you the correct (yes correct) order for these amazing coasters. Guest: Jana Bell Jana Bell is energetic, intensely passionate for the Lord's presence, simply put, she is a true worshipper!   Jana toured internationally as an alto with Kirk Franklin from the Fall of 1998 to Winter of 2007. While traveling, the Lord continued to develop and prepare her for the call and anointing that He has placed on her life.   Jana later became a background vocalist for several other Contemporary Christian artists and ministries including Martha Munizzi and Freddy Rodriguez. She also spent a little time in early 2010 traveling as a wardrobe assistant for the overseas Year of the Gentleman Tour.   Jana has done studio work for several artist and companies such as Anthony Evans, Natalie Grant, Jeremy Camp, Joy Hill, Trinitee 5:7, Kirk Franklin, Arlington Jones, Ambassadors of Christ, Men of Standard, SuperNova Remnant, Churches Fried Chicken and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.   While traveling and performing, she continued to pursue her college degree through correspondence and night classes. In the summer of 2003, she received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Her love for the arts and learning would not allow her to stop with just one degree. In 2015, she received her Masters of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fl.     Jana knew the Lord was calling her for more and began to pray that God would lead her to people that would disciple, administrate and labor with her in ministry. God honoring his word in Matthew 21:22 which says, And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive, put four individuals on her heart. Understanding that vision is birthed out of prayer, Jana asked these kingdom citizens to commit to a prayer conference call to gain direction from the Lord.  Again, God being true to His word in Ephesians 3:20 that states, (God) is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, this prayer call became a staple weekly session that has grown to committed prayer warriors around the United States.   About Love Ministries: Love Ministries About Host, Karla Nivens: After graduating from Texas Tech University, Karla earned her teaching certificate and began her career as an elementary music teacher in the Dallas Independent School District. She also sang for Grammy award-winning Gospel recording artists Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Crystal Lewis, Willie Neal Johnson, John P. Kee, Alvin Slaughter, Tamela Mann, and Michael Buble'. She's traveled the world and ministered to diverse audiences in music. During her travels, she had the opportunity to sing on the Jay Leno Show, Soul Train, the Stellar Awards, and the Billy Graham Crusade with Kirk Franklin. She took a hiatus while staying at home with her children for several years and re-entered the workforce as a worship leader at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Karla has worshipped with Highland Park for the past 17 years. Currently, Karla is building the Racial Justice ministry for Highland Park UMC. Karla has also served as an adjunct instructor for Visible Music College and in 2014 released a CD entitled “True Worship.” Five years ago a good friend suggested she turn her heart toward fulfilling the Great Commission. Karla began traveling on yearly mission trips to Costa Rica and Africa. On those trips the Lord began to awaken the motto He gave her in college – “Influencing Culture for the Good of the Kingdom.” As an answer to this awakening, Karla and Dr. Roosevelt founded Karla Nivens Entertainment. Under this umbrella, Karla partnered with Love Ministries, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, started a small group for women, and a radio show both titled “Every Heart Every Woman.” Karla encourages her audience to quiet the noise and restore balance in their daily lives through inspirational entertainment. The show airs Sundays as a podcast on iTunes and Podbean weekly. The show also airs in video on YouTube. In 2019, Karla released her book, True Leaders with Heart, packed with weekly meditations for leaders.

It's not a political look; it's a discussion on choices, acceptance, and integrity. A very powerful question is presented on this podcast. August is here and it's HOT! But it's not as hot as this week's episode of The Original Theme Park Podcast! (Oh Brother!) This week, EB and Mike tackle some of the most talked about stories in the amusement industry. First up, they take a listen to one of the 911 calls that came from a recent breakdown of "Harry Potter and Forbidden Journey" at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.  Isn't 911 supposed to be reserved for emergencies? Then, the guys discuss the recent mainstream press coverage of Expedition Everest's problematic Yeti.  The big guy hasn't been moving since 2009.  Does this signal a change in Disney's priorities? The guys also talk about a mom in Indiana who allegedly left her kids in a rat infested home so that she could spend the day at Holiday World.  Hopefully the ride on "The Voyage" was worth the possible jail time. The guys also hear Live Trip Reports from Disney California Adventure's World of Color and Six Flags (fake) attraction BENCH: THE RIDE!  Will Mark Shapiro's brainchild take the amusement industry by storm? Plus, C-Pain joins the show from Paris, France to pave the way for Mike's visit to Disneyland Paris in a few weeks and there is news on The David Arquette Project!

EB and Mike tackle the Disney/Marvel deal and what it means to the theme parks, especially Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. We talk about weight as it relates to fitting on rides. Several of our listeners "weigh in" on the topic. We go "Off Topic" as Mike gets upset by a "Teen Wolf" reboot and EB isn't sure whether he likes blogger Dave Moyer. Plus, the David Arquette Project rolls on!

Sorry for the delay this week everyone! (See the post on the DPN that explains why...) This week we take a break from the Florida Summer heat as we enjoy all of the water rides at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The audio on Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges and Dudley Doright's Rip Saw Falls was taken in a waterproof bag. That means no binaural goodness, but the Jurassic Park segment had the good mics. (JP usually doesn't get as wet, but you can hear some staticy sounds at the end where a tiny drop of water got on the mic...) Hope you have fun and stay cool! Music inspired by the park... After some technical glitches, ToV 45 is finally up! This week I continue with the Trapped on Vacation 3D Film Festival as we hit Spiderman at UNiversal Studios Islands of Adventure. Then we investigate how the Mythos Restaurant can be the best Theme PArk Restaurant in the World if it's never open... After that we head to the Disney-MGM Studios (with a nod to Jeff from Houston with the travel directions) and hit Rock N Roller Coaster for a very interesting ride w/ no on ride audio and music... Then we wrap it all up on the Vacation Home Patio with a very Special Member of the DPN Family as he stops by with his Brother to visit after we spent the day at Typhoon Lagoon. Have fun!
