In this episode, I chat with Dr. Pedram Shojai to dive into the fascinating connection between your gut and your overall health. We break down neuroception — how your body subconsciously scans for safety — and why it plays such a critical role in healing and performance. We get into the gut's “second brain,” the enteric nervous system, and how it drives your physical and mental well-being without you even realizing it. Dr. Shojai also shares real-world insights on tackling dysbiosis, understanding gut-immune symbiosis, and how simple lifestyle shifts can radically improve your health. If you've ever wondered how stress, gut health, and the nervous system all tie together — and how to actually use that knowledge to feel better — this is an episode you won't want to miss. Key Takeaways: Understanding Neuroception: Neuroception refers to the subconscious detection of safety or threat in the body, playing a crucial role in both gut health and overall well-being. Gut as an Immune Organ: The gut houses the majority of the body's immune cells, acting as a critical barrier between the inside of the body and external threats. Role of Stress in Gut Health: Chronic stress can disrupt gut microbiota, leading to issues like dysbiosis and gut permeability, thereby affecting mental health. Food Sensitivities: Identifying and avoiding food sensitivities can prevent chronic inflammation, leading to better overall health. Holistic Approaches to Wellness: Emphasizing mind-body practices, such as meditation and breath work, can improve gut health by promoting a balanced parasympathetic state.   More About Dr. Pedram Shojai: Dr. Pedram Shojai is a man with many titles. He is the founder and director of The Urban Monk Academy. In today's episode of the Tranquil Awakenings Podcast, Debbie will be in conversation with Gary Whitt, The Urban Monk, who works with individuals to educate them on the journey to well-being and enlightenment. Gary, whilst serving in the police force, was a self-professed functioning alcoholic and narcissist, blaming other people and external situations for his problems.Upon travelling across America however he had an epiphany, recognising the journey he had been on was symbolic of his life up until that point in time. This revelation made him realise that he had to change his ways, learning to take responsibility for himself and his reactions. A message that he now wishes to share with others. KEY TAKEAWAYSIndividuals will only become self-aware when they are ready to do so.Childhood experiences shape how you are in adulthood.By being present it can help us to discover what we want from life. The words we tell ourselves have meaning and can either help or hinder our quest for well-being.Everyone is on their own unique and individual journey.People and circumstances can hold up a mirror to us to help us see what we still need to address and heal.Taking responsibility for the self is important for healing and growth. BEST MOMENTS“If I'm honest, from my personal perspective, everybody wants help, but they won't admit that they need help, or they're not ready to understand that they need help.”“You don't plant a seed and then every day dig it up to see if it's growing.”“And I joined the Navy straight from school and it was all about, being a man, you know, you've gotta do this. Take it on the chin. Be brave. Then I was 20 years in the police, exactly the same. And then I realized that what does happen in your childhood has a massive effect. I was the son of a very, very violent man, very abusive, I had a very dysfunctional family.”“As I entered Tennessee, I started hallucinating, which incidentally got me onto realizing how the brain works, how we've got one brain, but two halves, you know, you've got the conscious brain and the subconscious brain. So, for two hours, I was driving completely hallucinating, there was demons getting in the car. There were all kinds of things happening. And people were trying to climb in, I couldn't see, taillights looking like demon's eyes and looking at my sat nav, I drove two hours without realizing where I was.”“All my life I've been chasing something and like the opposite end of a magnet, I've just pushed it further and further and further away. So, I realized it was time to turn the magnet around and start attracting.”“People bury things deep inside the subconscious.”“It's not the life circumstance that is your issue. It's the way you deal with your life circumstance.” HOST BIODebbie is a seasoned therapist whose journey from being a primary school teacher to an adept therapist has been fuelled by her fascination with the intricacies of human nature. Equipped with advanced certifications in diverse modalities like hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming, mindfulness, meditation, past life regression and many more she has honed her expertise to bring about transformative change. As a full-time therapist and trainer, Debbie's driving passion is guiding others, as well as herself, towards their best selves. Embracing the concept of holistic beings, she firmly believes in addressing the mental, emotional, physical, social, energetic, and spiritual facets of well-being and healing. Hosted on Acast. Women are not what you think they are. A man has to teach his woman how to be a woman. A man has to teach his woman how to respect him and to be submissive.  Men want to be with multiple women and he is lying if he says different. A woman needs to bring more women for their man. This is what creates an unbreakable bond between you and your woman.  A woman only needs one man and she wants to be with a man who has multiple women. Rarely you will meet a good woman. It takes a man to teach her how to be good and how to handle life.  If you are alpha, you dont have to be so manly, it will come naturally. A man should focus on creating his life and not worry about being in a relationship. It's the woman who wants to be in a relationship and it is her duty to keep the relationship.   AZD DRAGON'S LAIR DAILY MENTORSHIP PROGRAM  https://www.arashzepar.com/a/2147519866/FNtLA37h ADVANCED TRAINING REGISTRATION  https://www.imcbaseone.com Follow our show for content and announcements! https://geni.us/LfLAcqE/

Pandit Dasa speaks about his journey of growth and discovery, and why meditation is grounding for him, the food for his soul. Listen in as he shares insightful life tips for enhancing positivity, and improving relationships and mindfulness. This might just be the most inspiring thing you've heard in a long time. Don't miss it!   Key Insights:   Pandit Dasa shares his journey as a monk in New York City. The incredible life and leadership lessons he learned enables him to teach industry leaders about work, life, and love.   The mind tends to concentrate on the negative things in life even when there are so many more positive experiences. Though this is the natural inclination, it is possible to train the mind to see and dwell upon the positives rather than the negatives.   Thinking is the one process that is perhaps even more vital than breathing. While we breathe about 10 times in a minute, we may have a thousand thoughts within that time. The mind is incredibly powerful and that power has to be channeled positively.   Much of our stress is self-induced because the mind has the power to actualize what it thinks. Things that haven't happened have the power to stress us, which is why we have to be able to control stress, cut out distractions and overstimulation, and overcome addiction to work.   Relationships can be fragile and sometimes the so-called truth can destroy them. Is it the truth or just the ego looking to win that speaks in a relationship? Pandit Dasa explains why the relationship is always more important.   Author, Investment Expert, and Wellness Advocate Adiel Gorel isn't just an expert in his chosen fields but also a storyteller who makes complex issues easily accessible. Tune in to his show where he addresses diverse issues with a single aim to improve quality of life.    Have questions?
