Get ready for one of the most unique, high-energy, and straight-talking guests we've ever had—Susan Bratton, an expert on all aspects of sexual wellness, sexual intimacy, and sexual regeneration! We're going deep into a variety of topics at a fast pace, so fasten your seat belts and open your mind to this very refreshing guest. Susan brings the heat with straight talk on stuff that we are typically too embarrassed, shy, or shameful to talk about directly. It's time to open the floodgates and Susan is the perfect woman for the job. The topics we're talking about today can truly revitalize your relationship and overall life, vitality, and energy in general. Susan is an incredible resource who has written 34 books and programs, with tons of free offerings to help you improve your sex life in every way: lovemaking techniques, bedroom communication skills, and sexual vitality advice that includes Sexual Soulmates, Relationship Magic, Revive Her Drive, Ravish Him, The Steamy Sex Ed™ Video Collection, Hormone Balancing, The Pump Guide (to help males enhance sexual function), and more! You will hear tons of practical tips on how to elevate your game in the bedroom, especially when she talks about the conflict between male and female preferences in arousal styles, as well as effective methods for sexual wellness, biohacking, and regenerative medicine to regain function in areas most of us assume just fizzle out and diminish with age. Susan even confides that she, at age 61, is having the best sex of her life so she definitely knows what she's talking about! You will learn, laugh, and may even learn how to save your relationship if it's on the brink in this episode—enjoy! TIMESTAMPS: Our culture is very uptight, in general, about sexuality. Susan talks about how to enhance your sexual life, even as we age. [00:46] There is often a mismatch in libido in a relationship. Men's arousal is differently timed than the woman's. [07:15] The woman needs to be relaxed and it takes her 20 to 30 minutes to get aroused. [11:09] Does working on the sex part of the coupling lead to a healthier relationship in other areas of communication? [17:39] It is important for the male to understand the emotional and physical “mechanics” of his female partner. [22:35] Women are responsive. Men are spontaneous. [25:44] You can keep your genitals in good working order your whole life. [30:19] Susan got into this field of study because of her marriage turning sour in that area. [35:44] Repair and regeneration are available in many different ways. [42:06] Is libido dependent upon psychological factors, rather than the physical aspects? [48:36] Susan maintains her health by using a Vasper machine. [50:31] If you keep the body temperature stable, you can perform vastly more work. [56:23] The communication in the bedroom improves when you can eliminate the hesitation, shame and guilt you have been carrying. [58:32] How does pornography and masturbation fit into this sexual communication? [01:06:40] What about frequency? [01:13:33] Libido equals health. For years, I've been talking about how if I could choose one single method of cardiovascular training to do the rest of my life, it would be the use of this strange “VASPER" machine that holds a hollowed place in my home gym. It's a bit difficult to describe, but essentially VASPER combines blood flow restriction/compression, cold thermogenesis, and full-body high-intensity interval training in a single 21-minute workout that seems to give the same benefits as, a comparable 2- to 3-hour workout of running, cycling, swimming, etc. It's truly something I consider to be the ultimate biohacking “shortcut” to getting fit. Don't give me wrong: it's a challenging workout when you use VASPER, but when you combine all of the technologies within this impressive unit, the fitness payoff is huge. In today's chat with Peter Wasowski, we unravel the magic behind VASPER, merging compression, cooling, and high-intensity workouts. We'll touch on its unique effects on body temperature and blood flow, and even get a sneak peek at the upcoming VASPER Breath device. Whether you're a fitness novice or a seasoned biohacker, this chat with Peter offers insights you won't want to miss. Today I'm talking with Clayne Edward Wayman. He's a sought-after mortgage professional, as well as a speaker, mentor, and founder of the Vasper platform where he shares spiritual insight and mentorship. He's a recent author and a husband and father of four. Today, he's here to share his story and talk about the importance of trust.Growing Up in a Polygamist SectClayne grew up in a Mormon fundamentalist polygamist community. His mother was a first wife of 12, and Clayne was the first of 45 children who were primarily homeschooled. He married his first wife when he was 21, and then remarried after their divorce. Both were members of the same fundamentalist community, based in Arizona. Clayne explains that multiple Mormon fundamentalist groups still practice polygamy. These sects view polygamy as a cornerstone of the religion. Growing up, Clayne thought his lifestyle was completely normal— ‘monogamist' was the worst insult that he knew. However, in 2008 and 2009, he started questioning the environment he was raised in, and by 2017, had left the community entirely. Life Outside ReligionClayne slowly came to realize that his life's direction did not lie with the church. He began testing his doubts when the president of the community read from scripture that God would tell him if one of them sinned. Clayne found this as an opportunity to test it and began experimenting with women outside of his marriage. Not only did the religious leaders not immediately know, but they also called him to say that they wanted to arrange for him what they claimed to be a God-ordained marriage. This was his checkmate. Clayne fully left the community in 2017—with his second wife. He had shared all of his doubts with her before they married and later when he was contemplating leaving. Both times, the trust paid off. His wife left with him, and the two of them were able to step into a deeper and more trusting relationship. Clayne continues to stand, as he says, ‘on the rock of integrity.' Spirituality and Self-DiscoveryWhen telling his president that he was leaving, Clayne recalls the president telling him that he had never found a better way of life. He endeavors now to show people that there is a much better way. Clayne has had several spiritual awakenings and practices the shamanic ancient wisdom. He's used ayahuasca, Psilocybin, and other plant medicines, and has learned to see the signs of divine love and wisdom in everyday life. Clayne's book, “Echoes of Resounding Love,” shares his story as well as techniques for readers to learn more about themselves. He delves into psychology and how to trust your own unique process of discovery. “There are things the heart knows that the head may not even be able to fully wrap around,” he says. Clayne hopes that his readers, as well as the listeners of this podcast, learn to trust in the process—and trust that the universe has better things in store for you. Listen in to hear more about Mormon fundamentalists and polygamy, ayahuasca and plant medicine for trauma survivors, and generational trauma. Dr. Gladden forewarns that the BFR conversation is a very fascinating one. (1:13) Dr. Gladden explains that Sten is an expert in Blood Flow Restriction. (1:28) Sten talks about his background story and how his father taught them some of the things he practices today in exercise physiology. (3:00) Dr. Gladden throws light on Kaatsu as similar to tying a tourniquet on your leg while exercising or applying pressure to restrict blood flow. (4:06) Dr. Gladden explains what ‘ischemic' is and that it means not having blood flow to an area. (6:00) Sten gives an example of intermittent blood flow restriction and its effect. I thought I'd give you guys a little preview on the next bunch of guests we booked for our podcast Market Meditations, where it is the goal and job of Chris Haydel and myself, Neal Mody, to become better human beings and hopefully better investors. We take deep dives into doing our best to learn about how the world really goes together and hopefully being able to synthesize that information into making better decisions, across life. Next week we're going to have Ketan Patel to talk about mushrooms and data. We've got a pretty interesting adviser at my venture fund, Zoic, named Ketan Patel. A big data scientist, he spends a fair amount of time mapping the uses for both psilocybin and marijuana. Bio here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ketanpatelai/ The next week after that we have Christine Jones, our good friend who was acting CEO of GoDaddy. Actually, she was the general counsel there and she helped the big sale to KKR, a big private equity fund, helped sell I think GoDaddy for a little over a few billion. And now she puts all of her time and effort into the Prostate Cancer Foundation founded by Michael Milken. Bio here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christine-jones-b932751/ A couple of weeks after that, we're going to have Lahav Gil out of Tel Aviv in Toronto. Lahav is a super peaceful human being who looks at design thinking in a way that I think is particularly uncommon. He's helped design a number of products that are actually in hospitals today. He's exited seven companies in the medical device space. Bio here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lahav-gil-4a37486/ After that, we're going to have Ramesh Kumar talking about how to optimize your daily life. Ramesh is a radiology oncologist and a Japanese acupuncturist, and he practices both. And he's maybe amongst the most researched person I've ever met in medicine, looking at everything from how to use light therapy to the Vasper bike, which might be worth Googling. Ramesh is going to share a little bit about how to optimize your daily moods and modes and get the most out of your day. Bio here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rameshkumarmd/ And then lastly, we're going to have a good friend of mine Mudit Agrawal. He is a director at HoloLens at Microsoft here in Seattle. He's got us pitched in computer vision, which is essentially a combination of a neuroscience degree and a software engineering degree and pretty interesting guy. He does a fair amount of talks on artificial intelligence and how most intelligence is actually artificial, as you've heard Chris and I talk about. Bio here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/agrawalmudit/ So we've got a great list of guests coming up for you, and if you have any suggestions for any other guests we should have in the future, please do let us know. We'd love to hear from you. Don't forget to rate us five stars and we look forward to you joining us for these episodes in the coming weeks. Stay safe, everyone.

We are beyond excited to have had Ben Greenfield into the SystimFit studio. Tune in as Josh and Allie sit down to discuss Ben's experience, from his hip opener warm up with the Pulse Center’s PEMF pad, to efforts with Vasper, Whole Body Wireless EMS, and EMS combined with ARX. The pair also discuss as an update on Allie’s time spent in NYC, what it’s like working alongside Josh (you never know what to expect when working with him), PLUS a very special giveaway...
My guest on today's show is Sebastian Wasowski, who is the Co-Founder of . I first interviewed Sebastian's father, and inventor of the , in the show ", but plenty has happened since then... ...particularly the fact that I've been using the Vasper every morning for the past 3 months to experiment with just how good it actually is at building and maintaining fitness with a minimalist dose of exercise. So what exactly is this thing? Vasper is a complete exercise system based on three scientifically proven principles: compression technology, cooling and interval training. By combining all of these principles, the results are extraordinary. In 21-minutes, the Vasper enables you to get a complete workout. Utilizing compression, cooling, and interval training, the you are able to concentrate lactic acid and enhance growth hormone production. Have you ever dreamed of discovering a way to rebuild your body without having to spend HOURS in the gym? Have you been looking for a workout that doesn't make your joints ache and cause damage to your body? Well.. health and wellness entrepreneur Peter Wasowski says that rebuilding the human body on a cellular level is no longer the stuff of science fiction. His company, Vasper, represents a dramatic shift in fitness technology, utilizing grounding, cold therapy, anbd compressions to heal the body from the inside out. These techniques, long used by Navy Seals, astronauts, and other elite military groups is now being accessed by people of all ages. The keys to improved health in a sedentary age, says Wasowski, are finding ways to improve cognitive function, reduce the body's inflammation (#1 enemy of the human body?) and optimize hormonal balances. He formulated VASPER based on three scientifically proven principles – compression technology, cooling and interval training. When all principles are working together, the results can be absolutely amazing. If you are someone who would like to achieve optimal mental and physical health without becoming a gym rat, eating flavorless food, or spending hours researching the latest trends, spend a few moments listening to the ideas of Peter Wasowski and considering his revolutionary VASPER ideas.
Used by astronauts, athletes, and senior citizens in rehab, Vasper Technology is changing the way many people are strength training. It’s even becoming more popular in office spaces around the world. Sebastian Wasowski, one of Vasper’s creators, joins me today to tell us what Vasper is and how it can help people in all sorts of situations rebuild muscle. Vasper is a game-changing technology that allows people in many different physical conditions to fight natural muscle loss. Sebastian has been helping people access the benefits of Vasper since he created it in a backyard in Hawaii. It has since been adopted by scores of fitness programs and organizations, including NASA and several major sports franchises. Vasper stimulates the body’s production of anabolic hormones by utilizing vascular compression combined with cooling with interval training. With this technology, the user can mimic an intense two-hour workout in 21 minutes without the stress response of a normal high-intensity workout. Have you used Vasper in your training regimen? Is it something you would consider incorporating into your workout? Tell me about it in the comments on the episode page! In this episode What Vasper technology is and how you can benefit from it Who can best take advantage of a Vasper workout The role of growth hormones in preventing and reversing age-related muscle loss What the studies are saying about the implications of integrating Vasper into rehabilitation Combining cold exposure with a BFR workout The importance of active recovery and Vasper’s role in facilitating it by promoting better sleep Quotes “It’s through the combination of compression and movement that we’re able to mimic the physiology of a much more intensive workout and initiate some of those benefits.” [2:07] “The burn that you would normally feel towards the tail-end of a workout, most users begin to feel that during the first three to four minutes, but without being out of breath, without being overheated, without having extensively overloaded their joints to get there.” [5:28] “We’re also initiating some of the benefits you’d get from intermittent cold exposure.” [18:56] “Just improving somebody’s sleep, just that one tweak, if you can effectively do that… there’s often so much quality of life that comes back.” [22:14] Links Find Vasper online Follow on Facebook | Instagram Cantu Concussion Center NASA Ames Research Center Bulletproof Labs Check out the full show notes for this episode here Urban Wellness Clinic Follow Emily & Urban Wellness on Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube
Through a low impact 21 minute protocol, the user is able to mimic the physiology when you do an intensive 2-hour workout, get the same response from their pituitary and endocrine system without the same wear and tear, time and effort normally involved in initiating that anabolic response from exercise. On this episode, Mark and Dr. Gladden discuss the many ways your true biological age can be determined, your longevity possibly predicted – and what you can do to improve these factors. Mark talks about his experience with an ozone therapy machine and Vasper at Dr. Gladden’s clinic. Gladden explains the benefits of ozone in the body and how the therapy works, including increasing a molecule called NAD, which allows the cells to make more ATP. Telomeres are the “timekeepers” for the cell, caps at the ends of your chromosomes. You can somewhat predict the span of your life by the length of your telomeres, but you can do things to improve telomere lengths. A telomere length can show you’re physiologically younger or older than your chronological age. One company that does a thorough test on telomere length is Life Length. Cell mitochondria make ATP, or energy for cells. Cancer develops in cells that are abnormal and energy-starved. Cancer cells turn on telomerase to re-lengthen their telomeres, possibly making them immortal. Your lifestyle significantly impacts if you are shortening or lengthening your telomeres. Exercise, fish oil, meditation, Astragalus (via cycloastragenol, for instance) are tools to preserve the length of your telomeres. Molecular hydrogen can protect against radiation damage to telomeres. They consider other ways to judge a person’s true age, like arterial age, bone age and brain age. They discuss the mindset that one should develop that places a high value on your health. Many people sacrifice their health in an effort to get more money, but then they spend much of that money trying to recover their health later in life. Mark talks about this in terms of how we experience the life we have, at different ages, and he stresses the importance of making novelty a priority, so our life feels fuller for longer. Robb Taylor and Dr. Gladden also discuss 5 alternative cancer therapies your doctor might not tell you about. To read a more in-depth article, visit the blog. Ask yourself, “What can you do to take care of your real asset, your telomeres?”
Dan Sullivan’s Strategic Coach® program is how Mark and Dr. Gladden met, and Sullivan describes how he came to imagine a different kind of longevity than most people. He talks about how just thinking differently about the possibilities and changing his mindset about aging has helped him feel better and more capable of achieving his goal of living to 156. In Strategic Coach, Sullivan says, “Your eyes only see and your ears only hear what your brain is looking for,” which applies directly to the mindset you need to live much longer. In the reverse, he talks about the three factors he believes predispose you to die. However, every body works with food differently, and Gladden says that food may be the most important thing you can pay attention to for your mental and physical performance. Dr. Gladden, Mark and Robb each talk about their individual experiences with ketogenesis. Longevity requires the mind to be first, and then you bring your body along. Ask yourself, “What different questions would I be asking today if I knew it was possible to live a vibrant 120 years?” About the guest: Dan Sullivan is founder and president of The Strategic Coach Inc. Fixing the ‘problem’ of ageing is the mission of Dan Sullivan of Strategic Coach. He is spending thousands and working hard to ‘hack the code’ of life. A consequence of increasing health is that life extends, and that’s exactly what Dan’s health focus is as he pursues pushing human lifespan past its apparent maximum of about 120 years. With each passing decade, Dan’s health is improving, not deteriorating like most. His blood pressure has decreased naturally. In his 70s, he plans to get off of his blood pressure medication forever. His testosterone levels have jumped from 275 to 700 in just 2 years, all through natural methods like using the Vasper machine. This is proof that you don’t have to be a victim to aging, but can express good health for years, long past your 70s and 80s. This is a new training and exercise system that uses cooling, compression and interval training to maximize the users efforts. This is a low impact and relatively low intensity way for people to get the same great benefits of a high intensity workout. The system works by compressing and cooling the body at the same time. When compressing the muscle the Vasper System traps the lactic acid in the muscle causing an instant muscle burn much more quickly than traditional training and exercise. This starts an anabolic hormonal response in the body to produce growth hormones, testosterone, DHEA and endorphin’s. The user gets these positive results without the negative effects of the wear and tear that a high intensity workout puts the body through which allows the user to rest and recovery. We have an interview with one of the reps for the company Chloe. https://youtu.be/ECRdsbWFtUE Here are a few more tips on getting the most out of your training. Plan what you’re going to do – You don’t have to overdo this but having a general idea of what you want to achieve will be super helpful. Right now were trying to be more mobile and work on corrective movements so I think it would be helpful if we walked you through a few different programs and how you can get the most benefits. Time is your friend - First off no matter what you’re doing you’re going to get better over time. With this in mind remember you don’t need to always be switching up your workouts, do your program for a few weeks to make sure you get the most out of it. In a lot of programs you’ll have the same 3-5 workouts that you do for about 4-8 weeks depending on the specific goal. Let’s look at a bodybuilder’s workout plan. A typical plan would be 5 days a week and each day will be a different body part of specific movement, below is a schedule we’ve put together as an example: Monday (Chest Day) – Bench Press, Skull Crushers, Push-ups, Tricep Press. Tuesday (Back Day) – Pull-ups, Bent Over row, Seated Row, Lat Pull down. Wednesday (Leg Day) – Back Squat, Alternating Lunge, Leg Press, Leg Extension. Thursday (Rest Day) – Rest days are typically no lifting but possibly some light cardio such as walking. Friday (Shoulder Day) – Military Press, Lateral Raises, Front Raises, Bent Over Fly’s, Saturday (Bi’s, Tri’s and Accessories) – Bicep Curls, Tricep Kickbacks, Hammer Curls, Shoulder Shrugs. Sunday (Rest) Rest and recovery. Don’t waste your time – Unless you use the gym as your social time, and some people really enjoy hanging out at the gym, get in and get out! Exercising doesn’t have to take a long time, you can get a really great workout in 10 minutes. If you tighten up your rest breaks and don’t get distracted by your phone or other people in the gym you’ll be able to knock out multiple sets and reps quickly. Maximize your efforts - This is tied in with not wasting your time, when performing an exercise/movement really focus on what you’re trying to achieve with the movement. If you’re lifting weights to target a specific muscle for muscle growth really focus on feeling the burn in that muscle and controlling the movement. If you’re doing yoga or a corrective exercise really focus on stretching the targeted muscle. The mind and body should always be working together to achieve whatever goal you’re aiming for, to sum it up don’t just go in the gym and flop your body around. Focus on why you’re there and get it done. https://youtu.be/T8nOriFSkac Movement of the Week “Bug-UP” this is a move I actually made up and it’s a combination of a “v-up” and a “Dead Bug.” This is an ab exercise and it’s very challenging, the way you have to control the move is going to maximize your results and minimize your efforts. Here’s how you do the move; first lay on the floor on your back, extend your legs and lift your arms above your head. Now tilt your hips posteriorly, so that your back is flat on the ground, now lift your arms and legs off the ground a few inches, hold for a second and lower your arms and legs back down to the ground without letting your lower back come off of the floor. During this move you will have to focus very hard on keeping your back flat on the ground and it should really challenge you to use your abdominal muscles. Try a few reps and rest then try a few sets. It’s really simple and it will help develop those abs and it will also help with anyone who suffers from a posterior tilt in the hips.
