Adam Morse is a Film maker, Actor and much more besides who just happens to be blind and the Director behind the Google Guided frame Super Bowl 2024 advert which shows how a blind man is able with the help of the Guided Frame app to document his life just like anyone else does. RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey caught up with Adam to find out about how he got into film making, how that Super Bowl advert came about and how much freedom he had in making the advert too. Adam also talks about why he prefers to use more natural film making techniques to give the viewer the point of view of the eyes of a blind person and how it all works on set for him as a film maker who just happens to be blind. You will find an audio described version of Adam's Google Guided Frame advert on the following YouTube link - Javier in Frame | Google Pixel SB Commercial 2024 (Audio Description) (youtube.com) Plus a documentary about the making of the advert via the following YouTube link too - Behind the scenes: Google Pixel SB Commercial 2024 (youtube.com) (Image shows Adam in a light blue/green suit with a dark roll neck against a darker blue /green background)
Adam Morse is the world's first award-winning blind filmmaker. Adam lost most of his eyesight at the age of 19 when he was diagnosed with an incurable mitochondrial disease called LHON. Since then, Adam has gone against all odds to break barriers in the entertainment business by becoming an industry trailblazer for other differently-abled artists. Adam feeds off his peripheral vision as well as his high sensitivity to people's energies that help him direct talent and produce award-winning films. We have a 'Special Edition' of @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ for you today, people!!! It's a bit of a revisit, because we first looked at this film during Sci-Fi London 2023, but looking back at that review: https://youtu.be/Yh1aM4iPxsY I didn't really do things justice. So thanks to the great Matt Hulse, we were able to not just take another look at the feature, BUT, sit down with the creative mind (one of them) behind the project and really get into the mechanics of the creation, production, casting, all that good stuff. We also touched upon A.I, creative techniques, and the perception of material. It was a really fun time, which could have been a lot longer, you won't want to miss it!!! Watch the conversation: HERE! https://youtu.be/dgix9eiMoBM 'The Bystanders' is the feature directorial debut from Gabriel Foster Prior, which he co-wrote with Jack Hughes. Peter Weir (Scott Haran) – a former child genius at chess who is now an inconspicuous office drone – is recruited precisely for his anonymity to become a Bystander, a kind of empowered guardian angel tasked with watching over, and invisibly helping, an individual subject. Peter is trained by jaded Bystander Frank (Seann Walsh), who out of boredom proposes that they swap subjects, so that Frank now has ‘middle-class girl from Kent' Sarah (Georgia Mabel Clarke), and Peter has feckless loser Luke (Andi Jashy), whom Peter hopes to transform into a winner so that Peter himself can win the award for Bystander of the Year, and make up for losing a chess contest decades earlier. Hilarious rivalry ensues, as misanthropic Frank, who can only see the world through ‘Frank-tinted glasses', sets about, purely for the lulz, undermining Luke's – and Peter's – newfound success. Adam Morse, a London-based British actor, writer, producer, and director, achieved the remarkable distinction of becoming the world's first blind filmmaker to win awards. Diagnosed with a rare mitochondrial disease called LHON at the age of nineteen in 2009, Adam Morse's journey has been one of defying all odds. He has emerged as a pioneering figure in the entertainment industry, particularly for differently-abled filmmakers. This recognition followed the critical acclaim of his debut feature film 'Lucid,' starring Billy Zane, which premiered on Amazon in 2020. In addition to his directorial success, Adam made waves as a "Blind Action Star" by taking on recurring roles in the Apple TV+ series 'SEE,' alongside Jason Momoa. Remarkably, he performed his own stunts on screen, showcasing his extraordinary talent and determination. Currently, Adam is actively engaged in directing various feature films and developing numerous film and TV projects through his production companies, Hollyfield Productions and Morvara Entertainment. Notably, he is also penning a self-help book that chronicles his journey of overcoming blindness and serves as an inspiring guide for readers seeking to embrace a positive mental philosophy for achieving success. Our Edinburgh Film Festival coverage continues with this very exciting interview.?This week director Adam Morse announced on the eve of the world premiere of his movie, 'Lucid' that he was blind. i’m joined by Adam and actor, Laurie Calvert to discuss this fantastic and inspiring story behind the making of this movie. Timid Zel (Laurie Calvert), adrift in a city with no friends, simultaneously craves and fears intimacy. His eccentric neighbour, Elliot (Billy Zane), offers to help him try and win over dancer Jasmine using an experimental form of dream therapy. While this so-called lucid dreaming helps him change and become more confident, his lust leads him on a dark adventure and the question remains as to whether he can charm Jasmine in reality. ?
Fox host Pete Hegseth is being sued for hitting a man with an axe during a live segment just two blocks from Radio City Music Hall—a very busy part of NYC. A week before premiering Billy Zane's new movie "Lucid," the film's director Adam Morse reveals he's legally blind. And are the parents of a boy who knocked over a sculpture responsible for the $132K bill?
