Snow and ice management should be YOUR CALL! 100% no questions asked. It's your job, your expertise, and your liability so you should be the one to make the call. Another aspect is TRIGGERS. What is your trigger to go out on an event? Too many services have a trigger point of 2,3,4+ inches but I explain why that may not be a good idea AT ALL when it comes to price and job quality.

Decisions, decisions...we all make decisions throughout the day, but how we approach those decisions and what we believe about decisions makes a HUGE difference. This week on The Transforming Anxiety Podcast we're going to talk about decision anxiety. Because recently, I got a *great* question from a new listener. She DM'd me on Instagram and asked: "How do I make a decision about whether or not to travel right now...especially when the group I'm traveling with all has a different POV on COVID than I do?" And between the flights, the restaurants, the delta variant, the risk of bringing COVID home to her family, she started feeling like she didn't know how to make this decision AT ALL. Decisions don't have to be anxiety-inducing. Let's take a look at decisions and break down how you can approach any decision with solid clarity. See you there. It's our bonus question and answer episode, which turned out to be ridiculously long but hopefully interesting! Further listening/watching: The Axolotl Song ~~~Buy my books!~~~ Whiskers used to have two eyes and a nose. In the background, Dracula (left) and Poe (right): Black squirrel! King cobra! Pufferfish, puffed: Dog nose: Show transcript: Welcome to the bonus Q&A episode of Strange Animals Podcast! I'm your host, Kate Shaw, and this is a little extra episode where I answer listener questions. So let's jump right into it. To start us off, Simon and Thia wanted to know how I first became interested in animals. I really don't know! When I was little, I didn't want to play with dolls, I wanted to play with my stuffed animals. I actually have a toy cat named Whiskers who I've had since I was four. Whiskers is older than all my teeth! I especially loved horses as a kid and since my family couldn't afford to buy me a horse, I took riding lessons and read everything I could find about horses, fiction and nonfiction. All that reading about horses led to reading about other animals, and the more I read, the more interested I became in animals of all kinds. Next, Melissa of the awesome podcast Bewilderbeasts asked, “What was the fact or episode that really slapped you out of left field, like, ‘I didn't see that coming AT ALL'?” OH MY GOSH, how many times has that happened to me? The most astounding fact I can think of isn't actually about an animal at all but about trees. While I was researching the Temnospondyl episode, which had a related Patreon episode that ran at about the same time, I came across the fact that when trees first developed, nothing could break down the tough compound called lignin that hardens a tree's cells to make wood and bark. When a tree died, its trunk just stayed where it fell forever, and this happened for at least 50 million years and possibly 100 million years. 100 million years of tree trunks just lying all over the ground! You wouldn't be able to walk anywhere! You'd have to climb over hundreds of millions of fallen tree trunks, although naturally as the years passed the older ones would get buried deeper and deeper in the earth. But there would always be more! This blew my mind, and later I came back to it, determined to do more research and make sure it was accurate. I did a whole lot of research, because it just didn't seem possible, and that information ended up in episode 214. As for an animal that blew my mind, I still have trouble believing ice worms are real. They're worms that live in snow and ice! We covered them last August in episode 185 and I'm still reeling. Next, Llewelly asks what my favorite extinct animal is, or animals. Why would you make me choose? This is so hard. Okay, fine, I'll narrow it down to hoofed Pleistocene megafauna like the giant deer and elasmotherium and so many other animals with weird horns and ossicones and things like that. What really gets me is that they lived so recently! Many of them only died out 11,000 years ago, and some were probably around much more recently in a few isolated areas. It also really reminds me to appreciate the megafauna that's still around. We live at the same time as giraffes! Next, Richard E. asked, “Does your job involve the study of animals and/or is the pod something that you really wanted to do?” Tracie also asked what my background is, if I'm a professor or zookeeper or something similar. Helenka also asked my background and how I got interested in strange animals. I'm kind of embarrassed that I never have pointed out that I'm not an animal expert, to steal a phrase from the awesome podcast Varmints! I actually work as a test proctor, AKA invigilator, in a large community college, so my work doesn't have anything to do with animals. My background is in elementary education although I didn't teach long. Basically I got my K-8 teaching certification and M.Ed.,

According to a report in The New York Times, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo (Fredo) advised his brother to resign and was continuing to advise his brother the entire time the scandal was taking place. HOWEVER, when the AG report dropped last week, he didn't mention it AT ALL 2 nights in a row. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Guest host Ben Lyons, Chris Brockman and TJ Jefferson begin the day rejoicing over the return of NFL football (even though the Cowboys vs Steelers Hall of Fame Game was gawdawful to watch). Rich calls in from Canton, Ohio and tells Ben how special the Pro Football Hall of Fame weekend is every year for the inductees and their families, if he shares TJ's concern for the arm troubles of Dak Prescott and Jacob deGrom, and if there's any chance AT ALL that the HOF speeches will be limited to 7 minutes per inductee. What is it that I am doing this for again? I am going through the motions but I don't feel motivated, or inspired, AT ALL. I fact, I really can't even remember WHY i had this 7/8 figure vision anyway. I really don't feel like doing any of it. Urgh. I need a rehab, and do something else, but what exactly?!? Maybe it was the wrong dream to begin with. Maybe I am on the wrong path. But what is that new path? It's not coming to me, and it's so frustrating. If that sound familiar, this is the episode for you :)
We're going to go back in time, and we promise there are no Huey Lewis songs involved AT ALL. This week we're discussing all of the things we would do if we had the ability to travel back in time - but the trick is that we'd have to stay there. We cover a lot of ground, from killing Hitler to killing it on the old time baseball diamond. SHOW NOTES Killing Hitler, 1919 (Michael's Choice) Premiere of "Hamlet," 1609 (Richard's Choice) The Constitutional Convention of 1789 (Michael's Choice) Deadball-era baseball pitcher, late 1800s 75 million years ago (Michael's Choice) Invention of the forward pass, 1906 (Richard's Choice) Music concerts around 2001 (Michael's Choice) TV Executive in New York, 1950s (Richard's Choice)
Last week on The Bachelor, we saw a very strange date between the virgin, Mikey P. and Katie. They lay in the woods and are instructed to get intimate by a Cuddle Queen. Mikey P. and Katie are wearing all white in a weird cult-ish Midsommar vibe. Mikey P. then whispers in Katie's ear “you remind me of my mom.” Danielle couldn't pass up an opportunity to talk about cults! Plus Megan wouldn't let her talk about mommy issues murders. Danielle covers the Aum Shinrikyo cult that started with a charismatic and psychopathic leader. It started with yoga and comics and ended with terrorism. The cult committed a horrific mass murder that killed 14 and injured over 5,000 people, attacking subways in the heart of Tokyo, Japan in March of 1995. (story starts at 13:55). We also talk about the 2020 Olympics and Danielle's experience in a relaxing float, which proved to be not relaxing AT ALL. I will be telling you a little about what I've been doing since October of last year. I signed with GAGE Talent and I've been having a blast. Of course, with this opportunity, you do have to pay a fee for them to put you through classes and study with other people. Practice acting, doing commercials, learning the ins and outs of how to act, what to do, how to walk, etc. it has been so much fun! Well, today, I traveled to Knoxville and had my photo shoot. It was something I had been dreading all week. I don't consider myself photogenic AT ALL, but the photographer said I was great. Guess we shall see. So, I now can apply for shoots and commercials. Hallmark Movies are my main focus. LOL. I want to be on Hallmark movie so bad, I can taste it!!!!! So wish me luck!!! John Ricks is the Executive Director for the State of Nebraska Tourism Commission. Kurt Ruhnke is a freelance Creative Director and Copywriter. These two were part of the team that came up with the breakthrough campaign: Nebraska, Honestly It's Not For Everyone. And In this episode, they share the story of one of the best turn-around stories ever. Seriously, this is the kind of case study that you read about in business school. Here's the background. In 2017 when John and Kirk started working on the brand, Nebraska was ranked -- check this -- as the state least likely for people to visit. It was so bad...Nebraska wasn't even considered a part of the travel category. Let that sink in for a minute. The state was in the worst place possible. They were suffering from brand apathy. People just didn't care about the state AT ALL. That was the scene when John and Kirk started their work. And in a short period of time, they put together an amazing campaign that won every travel advertising award, and delivered an incredible ROI! John and Kirk provide: ✅ A behind-the-scenes look at how they did it. ✅ The steps they took to go to change the people's perception of the state. ✅ The obstacles they had to overcome. ✅ The results they achieved. Spoiler alert: they're AMAZING! We know you are going to love this show. Have a listen then smash that subscribe button. Thanks so much. It really helps us out. Want more tourism marketing? Ladies and gentlemen, we have a final four, and if you're like me, the remaining quartet of men is not AT ALL the exact four that we expected. Week seven, as is often the case with the week prior to hometowns, served as a nice little bridge into the final weeks, setting the stage for the oodles of drama that I'm sure are still to come. Lord knows what we may all have to discuss next week, but you know I'll be here to discuss it!!! Thank you all for listening, and I hope you enjoy!
Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) enjoys the adrenaline of street car racing and his fans treat him like a rock star. After a blazing encounter with the ruthless Johnny Tran, Dom decides to take Brian (Paul Walker), a newcomer to street racing, under his wing. Dom's sister Mia sees something she likes in Brian, too. Trouble is, neither of them realize he's an undercover cop, and Dominic and his rival Johnny Tran are both the prime suspects in a case involving dirty money and big-rig hijacking. The one that started it all! The very 1st entry of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise starring (RIP) Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster , 20 years later!! Question: What is a time that you SNITCHED on someone, and you don't feel bad about it AT ALL? (eg. When you caught your awful boss hooking up with a hostess at the restaurant you worked at so you told the GM and he got fired, when you found out of little brother was stealing your Mom's pills to get high....he finally got some help and is now totally clean, when you found out how the class bully was cheating in school so you told the principal, when you called the cops because you saw an obviously drunk guy speeding through a school zone, etc) Show Features: Tipsy Or Toddler, Are You Smarter, and Who's Got The Warrant Socials: @DaveandMahoney Voice Mail: 833-Yo-Dummy https://www.twitch.tv/daveandmahoney Additional Content: daveandmahoney.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
NBA games, series changed in one game - what is one game throughout your sports fandom that you'd like to have back? Also, Wendy's has this new strawberry salad that Mason will NEVER try because he says fruit doesn't belong in salad. Lindsey agrees, but Momo and Jorge strongly disagree. Does fruit belong in salad? Plus, Madonna has been posting a lot on IG lately - but she doesn't look AT ALL like Madonna and she doesn't even look like a 62-year-old woman. Is it time for her to accept and embrace the reality of her age? And GAME OF GAMES - Producer Lindsey hosts a game of “Fun Facts In History That Are Too Weird To Be True… Or Are They?” … And it's a close fight to the end.
If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with ChapStick. It's my FAVORITE lip balm. My dad used it all the time, I use it all the time, it's great. (I promise there's a point to this.) I recently discovered Graham Cracker flavor, which is my new favorite — but my family doesn't get my obsession with ChapStick, and in fact, Grady is grossed out by the smell of Graham Cracker. But that doesn't change how much I love it. They just don't understand! Now, I want you to think of someone that you love and admire, whether it's a friend, a family member, a spouse — and then I want you to think about someone outside of your close circle NOT liking that same person. If some person told me they didn't like my sister or my dad or David or my kids, I'd be confused, and I'd have to say “you don't know them like I do. You just don't understand!” Now (okay, here's the point) imagine that someone who has no tangible stake AT ALL in your life is angry with you or dislikes you. Should you feel something in terms of a reaction? And if so, how should you feel? When you cultivate self-love and practice a mindset that offers empathy, grace, and compassion, you'll be the friend that you need — you can safely ignore opinions from people who don't live within your walls and don't know you like you know yourself. Recently a friend of mine noticed that a competitor bought one of her digital products - it got us talking about the idea of “funnel hacking” - where you sign up for a competitor's marketing/sales funnel to see how they do things, copy it, and in theory, avoid the learning curve. Lots of coaches and business experts online recommend this technique. I don't. And I actually have strong opinions about it, and how it can actually slow your business down instead of helping you succeed faster. On this week's episode of the Online Business Building Mamas podcast, I dive into the concept of funnel hacking, three reasons why I think it's a bad idea for your business, and explain what to do instead to reach success in your business as quickly as possible - while not looking at your competitors AT ALL. On today's episode, you'll learn: What funnel hacking is, why most of us have thought about doing it, and why we shouldn't Why you should NEVER invest in programs that encourage modeling your business after another Why focusing on your competitors is actually a guaranteed way to slow you down The fastest way to discover what works for your unique business Featured on today's episode: Ready to start signing clients? It's the very 56th episode of Forsaken Cinema Podcast!!! That's right, you're getting 2 episodes this week and we're all caught up for May!! Hooray for us! Hooray for podcasts! Hooray for school! Anyways, this week, Chuck and Mel review the super, ultra, mega, blockbuster, Snyder, zombie, heist, action, horror flick, “Army of the Dead”! And we fucking hated it!! Ok, so there's a handful of cool parts, and we both fell in love with Dieter, but if you know us AT ALL, you'll definitely see our negative opinions coming. We also fast rope down into the hellish depths of the psychological thriller, “Jacob's Ladder”. And while this amazing piece of 90's what-the-fuck-is-actually-happening cinema left us with trace feelings of paranoia, depression, and anxiety, we manage to have a pretty fun and interesting convo about it anyways. And don't get us wrong: we adore the shit out of this Tim-Robbins-lead mind-fuck, but it is not for the easily unhinged. So go listen, ya freaks!!! Greetings Super friends! Welcome to Superman & Lois & Pals. I’m Henry Bernstein and alongside me is my favorite super pal, Professor Sam Brody. We’re back! That hiatus actually flew by. I would like to say that it helped that we had Supergirl and Flash to fill in, but in my opinion both have been really frustrating. I know because of Covid and because she’s a new mom the filming of Supergirl has been difficult. But this is the LAST season of Supergirl. And the last time we get Mellissa Benoist who IMO has been a wonderful Supergirl. How can you have 7 episodes in a row where your star who’s name is the name of the show just isn’t in it? The two flashback episodes, while cute, literally didn’t have Kara in them at all. And in the most recent one she showed up at the end to hug her sister and that was it. VERY frustrating. But we’re not here to talk about Supergirl, we’re talking about Superman. Sam what a great episode to come back with. “Clark reconsiders his decision to let Jordan play football; Lois' continued investigation of Morgan Edge requires her to trust an unexpected ally.”Nice little “previously on…” Caught us up on what’s going on. I’m glad they’re digging in a bit more into the powers thing. Like it’s clear that Jordan has some serious powers that might be slightly different from Clark’s. So was Hologramps just wrong about him? Superman flying in looked great and we got MORE POWERFUL THAN A LOCOMOTIVE! I also loved that his first instinct was to talk to Tag, not punch him. That’s my Superman. I loved how he didn’t just stop the train but got it back on track. I like when heat vision fixes things instead of just blasting a bad guy. I liked Lois saying “I want you focused on the boys” and Clark didn’t argue. That’s a solid marriage right there. Why is Metropolis high school playing Smallville? There’s two options here. Metropolis is in the midwest like on the show Smallville and is quite close Sara does say “I’d hate to go all the way to Metropolis…”They’re in a hotelMetropolis high and Smallville high have the two best football teams in the country and it was a championship game or something. I know they’re teenagers and they make dumb decisions but I’m getting tired of the CW trope of not telling someone something which leads to a misunderstanding. Why wouldn’t Jordan tell Clark about the headaches and heat vision boiling over?I know we’re supposed to, but I hate Kyle and I don’t buy Lana with him AT ALL. How cool were all of Clarks fist marks in the tree trunk. How many times did he punch that thing growing up? “You’re stronger than you think you are”Nice to see Jonathan finally getting a chance to shine in the game, especially with Jordan working together with him. Glad to see Lois suspicious of “Marcus.” The main focus of the episode seemed to be on Jordan and his powers (tag etc) but Lois really shined this episode as badass reporter Lois Lane. Lois pointing out the ridiculousness of dressing up in disguise was funny. Sara’s going to have a rough time being a parent if she can’t watch a Disney movie a THOUSAND times. I HATE seeing people hit their head on stuff in movies. Like a total parent nightmare. Clark “catching” Jordan’s heat vision was so cool, creative and looked like it hurt Clark! I like when we see stuff we haven’t seen before that actually makes sense. Are we supposed to think Clark is overreacting or that Jordan is being a stupid teenager that makes mistakes? I know teenagers do dumb stuff like going out drinking but they JUST screwed up with that in the last couple episodes. This seems ill advised. Jonathan stopping Jordan’s punch was devastating. These kids are good actors. “You get to be Superman! Who am i? I wanted to be good at something. I’M NOT YOU! OK!” I’m glad this isn’t how it’s going in the comics but for some reason it makes sense and I like it. Sarah should be dead or have a concussion.“Don’t Run! I’m here to help you” - Superman should say that. Angry red eyes of anger are a trope but they worked here for me. “STAND DOWN” Yessir mr. superman.Incredible speech by Clark. And he immediately feels bad. “Probably not the best time to tell you I almost got killed tonight” Instantly gifable!Lois totally loises two scenes in a row, first as reporter with Lana second as super-mom with Jordan. Poor grammar by saying “bring me farther away.”I LOOOOOVED Clark rocketing off with Jordan, glasses still on and then going into 2nd and then THIRD Gear
Back in the day, my entire life revolved around FOOD and my BODY. In reality I just wanted to feel beautiful, feel proud of my life and my accomplishments, and simply be HAPPY! And I THOUGHT that losing weight would just magically heal all of my internal struggles and ‘make me’ happy. So I went and did what any woman would do with (a lot) of weight to lose would do: ★ I went on every diet, plan, and program I could imagine. ★ I hired coaches, trainers, joined masterminds and coaching programs, and attended retreats and events and camps. ★ I even went back to therapy! And it worked…to an extent. But fast forward to the part where I ‘had it all’ – to the part in the story where I SHOULD have been happy and content. That’s not how the story went down AT ALL. In reality, even AFTER I lost one-third of my body weight, built a successful business, and checked off all those proverbial ‘tick-boxes’ I thought I needed to be happy… I was NOT happy. And that’s because while I was so busy and intentional about ‘fixing’ everything OUTSIDE of me. I never went and changed what was going on INSIDE. I never went and transformed my Self-Image. And in this episode of the podcast, we are going to talk about why you can’t out-diet, out-smart, or out-strategize your brain and your Self-Image AND what to do instead. ★ Watch The Stressless Eating Webinar: https://www.StresslessEating.com
Ever feel like everyone else has got it ALL figured out except for you? HINT: THIS is what most of us naturally think about ourselves UNLESS we change our constant self-judgement approach ON PURPOSE. It's essential to make this change because as you might imagine: constantly thinking there's something wrong with you and your brain is NOT helping your goals AT ALL. In this episode, I'm on a mission to make sure you know THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECT, perfectly 'behaved' HUMAN BRAIN. & here's the best news of all: You don't need your brain to ONLY think positive, motivated, useful thoughts ALL OF THE TIME in order to change your results and your life. YOU WILL NEED THESE 4 THINGS however: (perfection NOT being one of them) Curiosity, Compassion, Awareness, and deliberate decision making. In order to create epic results and transformation in any area of your life (including creating next-level weight results and upleveling your relationship with food) you can do it ALL with your human, imperfect brain. Filmtrepreneur™ - The Entrepreneurial Filmmaking Podcast with Alex Ferrari
It was brought to my attention that there are predatory film aggregators and distributors out there selling promises that they don’t intend to keep.Yes, I know shocking.Specifically, I came across a few film aggregators, and use the term “aggregator” extremely loosely, that were promising filmmakers that if they use their service they could guarantee their film would be placed on Netflix, Hulu, Tubi, etc.“THIS IS 100% BS!”In this episode, I’ll break down the predatory tactics they use and will follow the money so you can see how the sausage is made using this scam. Some of these “aggregators” have no experience in film aggregation AT ALL. No history working with filmmakers. I mean they just buy a URL, open shop, use a fancy website and promise indie filmmakers the world. You need to do your homework. You need to ask around to see if you can find anyone who has done business with them. You can reach out to the amazing community of indie filmmakers over at the Private Facebook Group: Protect Yourself from Predatory Film Distributors/Aggregators and see if they have any insight. It’s just not predatory aggregators, we can’t forget the predatory film distributors. These companies promise you this and that but never deliver. If it’s not in the agreement it doesn’t matter what they tell you. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Speak to a qualified entertainment attorney with expertise in film distribution. As I stated last year when the economic situation in the world changes predatory film aggregators and distributors will become more and more desperate.Stay vigilant out there tribe. Sharks are around every corner.Enjoy the episode.
Hello everyone! If you have been following me AT ALL on social media, you know I talk about change a lot. Not just change I think should occur in the school system, but changes other people believe should occur as well. But one aspect I have struggled with is how to make change happen at all. Sometimes, it feels like the system of public education is too big to change in any meaningful way… And yet, Suzanne DeMallie made significant change by being an advocate and educator, and now she is pushing for us to continue talking about change and taking action to do so. Last week, we dove into the overview of what change can look like, and in this episode we dive into the steps it takes to make change happen at various levels. Suzanne DeMallie taught for seven years in the Baltimore County Public Schools system. Research into her own son’s learning difficulties led her to author the Classroom Auditory Learning Issues resolution, adopted by the National PTA in July 2007. Her work has appeared in Our Children Magazine, T.H.E. Journal, Towson Times, and The Baltimore Sun. She has presented at the National School Boards Association’s Annual Convention; to national, state, and local PTA groups, and to politicians. Suzanne was awarded the National PTA’s Life Achievement Award in May 2007, the highest honor from the nation’s largest child advocacy organization. This episode is sponsored by Heinemann—the leading publisher of professional books and resources for educators—and their professional book, Writing Unbound: How Fiction Transforms Student Writers by Thomas Newkirk. Writing Unbound is about the value of writing fiction in secondary classrooms. Tom Newkirk asks a tough question: if reading fiction is the center of most English classrooms, why is writing fiction often ignored? Why do we separate fiction reading and fiction writing? Tom argues that when our writing curriculum is too analytical, students think of “writing” as impersonal, formulaic, and…well…boring. He says that opening a door to fiction writing can ignite students’ interest and convince them of the value of writing. He even argues that allowing kids to write fiction will improve their analytic writing. Learn more about how fiction can transform student writers. NFL Network analyst Bucky Brooks and Rich discuss if the Patriots could be in the market for a quarterback in this year’s NFL Draft, how the top quarterbacks in the draft compare, if the Jets should stick with Sam Darnold or draft his replacement and why the Falcons should draft Justin Fields to supplant Matt Ryan as their QB, which stellar player in the draft is being overlooked and undervalued, why the Dolphins should be patient with Tua Tagovailoa, and the Bears’ best option at quarterback if they can’t land Russell Wilson (the answer WILL surprise you.) NBC Sports Boston’s Tom Curran tells Rich why he’s not surprised AT ALL by Tom Brady’s success with Tampa Bay, Bill Belichick’s philosophy with the QB positing in New England going forward, why New England can’t afford to give up picks in order to move up in the NFL Draft, and how new Texans GM Nick Caserio will ultimately have to deal with the Deshaun Watson situation.
