Rebeccah Silence's journey of healing and transformation is an inspiring example of resilience and emotional growth. Growing up in an environment marked by domestic violence, Rebeccah found herself in an abusive marriage that echoed the trauma of her past. With the courage to leave her marriage and the support of her community, she began her path toward healing. Later, a life-threatening cancer diagnosis while pregnant with her second child further shaped her understanding of life and healing. She learned that emotional well-being and alignment with one's soul were more important than any external achievements. Rebeccah's work today focuses on helping individuals and families break free from toxic relationship patterns and create healthier emotional connections. Through her companies, Non Silent Woman and Rebeccahsilence.com, she teaches clients how to recognize and heal their core wounds, break destructive cycles, and embrace their true selves. Central to her approach is the distinction between the "survival self" and the "healed self," and the belief that emotional healing is essential for personal and relational transformation. If you're ready to start your own journey toward emotional healing and healthier relationships, Rebeccah offers invaluable resources. On the Saturday January 18, 2025 edition of The Richard Crouse Show we get to know filmmaker, writer, visual artist and community organizer Rebeccah Love. Rebeccah is an advocate for people with mental and physical disabilities as she personally experiences both. Rebeccah has a history of psychosis and experienced institutional violence as a psychiatric patient. She also has a physical disability that affects her mobility and how she walks. Her new film is “Fortescue.” It touches on questions relating to the underlying tensions in female friendships, the male gaze and violence against the mentally ill. Rebeccah will take her film on a national tour this year, starting in February where the film will be screened in Vancouver, Victoria, Halifax, P.E.I and Toronto (more dates TBA). Then, I'll take you to a little piece of France located 90-minute ferry from Fortune, Newfoundland. It's Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, the location of a new CBC television show starring Allan Hawko, you know him and love him from “The Republic of Doyle,” among many other things, and “Death in Paradise” star Josephine Jobert. Called “Saint-Pierre,” the show is a police procedural set on the island involving Donny "Fitz" Fitzpatrick a police officer sent there to work after one of his investigations got uncomfortably close to the corruption of a powerful local politician on the mainland. Exiled to the French territory of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, he partners with local police officer Geneviève "Arch" Archambault to solve local crimes.
I was in a domestic violence marriage with my oldest and because of her, got us out and reinvented myself so that I could be a mom that she could be proud of. With my youngest I was diagnosed with cancer and given only a 5% chance to live while I was 7 months pregnant. I couldn't be the mom I wanted to be, I couldn't even really hold her let alone take care of her for the first year but we both made it! and I'm more aligned and connected to divine love and intelligence because of her. Rebeccah Silence's last name is a powerful indicator of her life's testimony. Growing up with an alcoholic father, Rebeccah learned the protective behaviors of playing it small and codependence, which she calls "love trauma". As generational trauma can be cyclical, Rebecca found herself in an abusive marriage as an adult. In order to commit to getting the most out of your one precious life, we must find reasons to leave toxic situations. For Rebeccah, she knew she wanted her daughter to live in a healthy, safe environment. That was her motivator to find the next aligned step to changing her life, even with the fear of leaving her violent husband and the subsequent consequences looming over her. The first aligned step was telling the truth of her situation to trusted friends. The second aligned step was to move with her daughter to a hotel. The third aligned step was healing the root of her trauma as she juggled multiple jobs to support herself and her daughter. Healing her nervous system and past trauma helped break the generational attractions that caused Rebeccah to fall into destructive patterns that did not serve the person God created her to be. She describes this healing as a free fall, a reinvention and reclaiming process of who you really are, outside of survival. Rebecca is now in a loving marriage, healed, and no more silenced.Purchase Rebecca's book, "Coming Back to Life", here. Learn more about her breakthrough coaching here. Rebeccah Silence grew up in an alcoholic and abusive home. With the best of intentions, she thought the more she "took it" and stayed "silent," that it would lessen the abuse. Terrified and frozen, she always knew there had to be a better way. Though she survived domestic violence, she was left with a damaged self-esteem and self-worth. Joel Sinclair joined us in the studio to share his testimony with us! Joel and his wife Rebeccah serve a lot here at Desert Springs, you've probably seen their entire family serving on the Welcome Team together. Joel begins his story by sharing about his life growing up in small town Indiana. His family attended church, but Joel struggled to fully commit his life to Christ. He believed in God but was not walking in that way describing that many around him probably would not have known that he was a Christian. There was a roughly 10-year period that he didn't really have anything to do with faith related things. Joel reflects on the fact that he was never given any concrete reasons to believe in Jesus or the Bible, it was just something that people around him did. He ended up serving in the Marines and during a deployment in Iraq he began to think more seriously about his faith and made the decision to start following Jesus. It was also during this time that he met his wife Rebeccah who was also serving in the Marines. Joel and Rebeccah ended up moving to Arizona and shortly after that Joel was medically retired from the Marines somewhat suddenly. Though it was a difficult shift in his life the Lord used it to create space for Joel to begin walking down a new path. While attending Desert Springs Joel took an apologetics class and this awakened a passion in him for understanding, articulating, defending and teaching the faith. With the best of intentions, she thought the more she "took it" and stayed "silent," that it would lessen the abuse. Terrified and frozen, she always knew there had to be a better way. Though she survived domestic violence, she was left with a damaged self-esteem and self-worth. She developed anorexia and abused alcohol in the absence of having healing coping skills. Part of her self-healing attempts included becoming a music therapy intern at a state psychiatric hospital. She soon discovered many of the patients weren't mentally impaired. In fact, most patients merely did not have healing coping skills. It was then she decided to become an expert in human behavior. She had a dream of a life filled with healthy love and a healed family without a plan. With a distorted view of healthy relationships and family dynamics, Rebecah's first marriage was doomed to repeat the same heartbreaking results caused by dysfunctional relationship patterns. Rebeccah found herself a single mom surviving an abusive marriage, working three jobs to create a safe and loving home for her family, and despite her best efforts, she went bankrupt. Tragedy did not silence Rebeccah. This episode attempts to weaves together personal encounters and academic, historical accounts of human and animal relationships. I reflect on my own encounters with so-called "dangerous and dying" animals--Miko, a reactive dog we adopted; and Francie--a hedgehog dying from cancer. I turn to wisdom from Amazon, Singapore, and ocean mammals. This was produced as a project for a course called Animals and The Unseen taught by Teren Sevea This episode is dedicated to Michael Nunziato and Miko. Michael, you've been so dedicated to Miko's wellbeing. Miko, you're such a beautiful being, thank you for letting me love you. You two have taught me so much. Content warning: the storytelling, particularly in the beginning of the episode, includes stories of animals who can be considered dangerous as well as experiences of animal deaths. Here are some links from sources mentioned in the episode: Dog & deer from @thedodo Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Undrowned Professor Sevea's work on the miracle workers in Singapore Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, Cannibal Metaphysics The Case of the Animals versus Man before the King of the Jinn by Ikwan al-Safa' On tigers see: Dato' Paroï by Zainal Abidin bin Ahmad One example about the state of the Amazon I also want to acknowledge Professor Teren Sevea for this opportunity to produce this episode as a class project. Additionally, an earlier draft of this story was inspired by courses and conversations with Professors Michael Puett and Janet Gyatso. Thank you to my community: Amy and Henry, Nat and Liri & Lala, Quinn, Rebeccah, Claudia, Jessy and Scout for walking through this experience with me, and to Michael, Miko, Francie, Rūmī for all your patience and love. *** To learn more about Palestine from Native American, decolonial perspectives I recommend The Red Nation on Youtube or podcast apps. I have also signed on to this statement as a Ford Fellow, you can find further resources there. PS: enjoy Rūmī's meowing (and the heater) in the background.

Rebeccah Sinclair joined us in the studio to talk about her faith journey! Rebeccah works with Legacy Family Ministries which is an amazing resource for parents and families. You'll hear a little bit about it at the beginning of the episode. Rebeccah and her husband have five children themselves and it's awesome hearing about their passion for Biblically based parenting. Rebeccah comes from a large military family and grew up as a child of divorce living in multiple places. Both her Mom and Dad had their own Christian faith, but it was tough to settle into one way of thinking when she was splitting time between family and cities. A big decision Rebeccah had to make during her high school years led her to an intense time of Bible study and prayer. After receiving advice from someone close to her, she decided to make that decision based on how she felt which is what eventually began her journey into a more New Age version of Christianity. While serving in the Marines, Rebeccah met her husband, Joel. After they married, they eventually settled in the Goodyear area and began attending Desert Springs. Rebeccah initially struggled as she was still holding onto a lot of her personal beliefs while hearing Biblical teaching each weekend. You'll hear about how the Lord slowly began to work in Rebeccah's heart and what led her to come back to a true understanding of who Jesus is. Being involved in community is a major part of the story! Rebeccah also offers some advice and resources for parents who are trying to help children with the big questions they might have. This is a great conversation in so many ways, listen in and be encouraged! Dr. Jeanette welcomes Rebeccah Silence, author of Coming Back to Life, to share new tools of navigating the healing and new path all lightworkers and intuitives walk today. This decade has opened up the ability to share our stories and feel empowered as the path we have walked this lifetime no longer has a hold on our future choices. Many have experiences that have taken us to our knees, felt like we sold our souls for, and had us crying in the night to a greater power to save us from the pain of body and mind that we experienced. It was not a misstep, a wrong choice, nor a horribly blinded moment of time as we have been led to believe in our judgement of the past when we excavate our emotions and pains that bound us in this human form.Today, we can share freely with those who have had similar experiences, and allow us to hold each others hands to walk a new path that only we can design. How freeing might that feel? For more information on Rebeccah visit: www.RebeccahSilence.comFor an empowering session with Dr. Jeanette visit: www.DrJeanetteGallagher.com
