Alia recently ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon so we decided to spend the first 20 minutes of this week's episode talking about just that and all the little details. Then we got into the "if he wanted to, he would" part of the episode. We've all heard this phrase before it's nothing new, but is it actually true? Many people would agree and more won't. We gave our honest opinions on this and got into some examples. Hope you enjoy this conversation and please let us know your thoughts in the comments. :-)

This episode goes out with a huge congratulations to all who finished the Boston Marathon just over a week ago. And with that said, I'm thrilled to have Shana Miller, creator of Stiletto Running, back to chat with me about her Boston Marathon experience. Shana had run the Boston Marathon two times prior to this year's, but this was the first time she ran it as a qualifier. And though a bought with COVID in January put a wrench in her training, she was going to make it to that start line come hell or high water. Shana has been running to 2012, with the Philadelphia Marathon being her first marathon at the time. Since then she's run several marathons and numerous half marathons, the half is her favorite distance in fact. She set her sights on a BQ shortly after undergoing a full hysterectomy. She decided that if she was going to get back to running, she was going to go all out and set big goals. In 2019 Shana ran a qualifying time for Boston at the Baystate Marathon, and her 26.2-mile victory lap through the Boston area took 2 years to come fruition. Shana shares with me what it was like to take five weeks off of her training due to COVID and what big plans she has in her crosshairs now that the Boston Marathon is all done. A for me personally, I'm so excited to get to meet Shana in person at the Brooklyn Half Marathon on May 21. We love this exciting running community. Follow Shana on Instagram at @stilettorunning . On this episode, Page and I talk about how she’s feeling heading into her third trimester, how her pregnancy has been going, and why she thinks her baby is going to be “a little Tyrannosaurus rex.” She also gets professional and shares the one question you should ask potential employers, her best advice for women who want to work in the tech industry or in Silicon Valley, and why you should always send business-related emails on your phone. Plus, we get into our takes on feminism and the piece of advice her dad shared years ago that ended up changing my life. Rumbi is the social butterfly between her many networks Whether it's singing karaoke in front of thousands in Berlin, running the New York City Marathon or being a part of the New York African Film Festival, Rumbi is making connections. I talk with Rumbi about how important developing relationships is for someone who started her own forensics accounting firm. Which is pretty impressive considering she admits to becoming an accountant "on accident". Rumbi graduated from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts with a degree in Economics and Mathematics before going to study accounting at the University of South Africa. She worked for Big Four and industry before starting her own firm, Rock Financial Forensics in New York City. She's also the editor of Figuring Financial Forensics where she discusses news and her views of the world of financial forensics.     Other pictures of Rumbi (click to enlarge) Rumbi participates in a panel at the New York African Film Festival. Rumbi sings karaoke in front of over two thousand in Berlin. Rumbi is getting ready to run another Brooklyn Half-Marathon.   Rumbi's links LinkedIn Twitter Rock Financial Forensics Figuring Financial Forensics blog
