Welcome to another hour of disco, mixed with love in London. And 40 years ago this month Wham! released "Everything she wants" which starts this set with with the authentically updated Dolls Combers Tribute Remix. As far as we know George Michael did everything himself on the original, playing all the instruments and singing all the vocals, so technically it's not a Wham! track at all. Other tracks featured in this mix are are Larry Funk's "Together", Nicole's "Rock the house", A-Trak's "Like I said" (which I might have changed a bit ;-), Stephane Deschezeaux, and DJ B1's "Lovin' you" along with some delicious edits of chunky disco treats. Enjoy! XX F*Here's the full track list:1 | Wham! | Everything she wants (Dolls Combers Tribute Remix)2 | Bee Gees | Night fever (S. Nolla & Dr. Parellada Unreleased Mix)3 | Queen and Gino Soccio | Try it out (David Kust Bites The Dust Remix)4 | Change | Change of heart (Fingerman's Extended Edit)5 | The Whispers | And the beat goes on (Marcus Bootleg)6 | Franki Valli | Grease (S R Edits Rework)7 | Larry Funk | Together (Original Mix)8 | Nicole | Rock the house (Michael Gray Vocal Extended Remix)9 | A-Trak | Like I said (F*Monday Bootleg)10 | Ron Carroll | Soul train (R C's Re-Edit)11 | Stephane Deschezeaux, DJ B1 | Lovin' you (Original Mix)12 | Aretha Franklin | Get it right (Ced ReWork)And here's a link to the Spotify playlist. Some of the edits and remixes I've used may not be widely available. For a while I've been thinking about creating a history of disco mix, picking out some of the great tracks that symbolise the disco era. Meanwhile I recommend listening to Steve Greenberg's podcast "Speed of sound". Four of his podcast's episodes take you on a fascinating musical journey from Nazi occupied Paris to disco dominating American Top 40 radio. Definitely worth downloading. And if you want more, subscribe to Discodave's Spotify playlist, The Disco Files 1970-78, which includes all the tracks he could find from Vince Aletti's book "The Disco Files".

Welcome to today's podcast, where we'll explore the transformative power of compassionate witnessing and why it is essential in our personal development journey. Compassionate witnessing involves being fully present with others, validating their experiences, and offering empathetic support. What does it take for leaders to successfully navigate large-scale, complex change? In this episode, Winnie da Silva explores the concept of change through the lens of systems thinking, and shares the stages leaders go through during periods of great transition. She discusses the essential ingredients of leadership and provides insights from industry experts on embracing transformative change.Importance of Change: Change is a gift of grace that offers the possibility for growth and transformation into a better version of ourselves and our world.Systems Thinking: Systems thinking requires a shift in mindset from linear thinking to embracing complexity and interconnectedness when approaching change.Emotional Work of Change: Change is emotional work, and the rhythm of change is not linear, as adult humans do not change smoothly.Leadership Reflection: Leaders navigating change need to reflect on their own mindsets and behaviors that may hinder their ability to lead others through change.Empathy in Leadership: Leaders should demonstrate empathy by truly understanding the perspectives of those they are asking to change and stepping into their shoes.Letting Go of Perfection: In large-scale complex change, leaders need to let go of perfection and ego, as the envisioned change may not end up exactly as intended.Leading Change Initiatives: Leaders need three core ingredients for successful large-scale, complex change: self-reflection, empathy, and letting go of perfection and ego.Immunity to Change: The immunity to change approach protects individuals from perceiving change as a threat and plays a role in how neuroscience and stress impact our ambitions to change.ResourcesWinnie da Silva on LinkedIn

Please tune in to this episode of The Building BITE Podcast, as we hear from industry experts about key topics to help you be successful. The Building BITE host Mike Diercksen, CRIS, welcomes Arnie Didier, Co-Founder and COO of Forest Business Network. We begin the episode by discussing Arnie's professional career, where he had great insight into the logging industry and leveraged his knowledge to grow and develop what is now an international Mass Timber Conference. We look to better understand the opportunities offered within Mass Timber and how the conference provides a multitude of tracks and education opportunities for the industry's various stakeholders. As always, our guest leaves us with their three key takeaways: 1. Sustainability: It has become clear that the need to find sustainable building practices is here to stay. There is a true need within our industry to lead by example and be part of the solution rather than being left behind waiting for someone else to lead. 2. The Numbers Need to Make Sense: The proof is in the pudding, and we now have enough completed Mass Timber structures to validate that the numbers do in fact make sense. From small developments to twenty-five story buildings, we can now point to specific examples in the market where these projects provided cost effective and desirable solutions. 3. The Only Constant is Change: Change is happening in our industry, and we see great examples of that, specifically within the residential building market. With greater market visibility and success, we believe this will continue to drive additional industry-wide changes, leading to more mass timber projects. To learn more about how you can better prepare your firm for the opportunities ahead, listen to our full podcast episode with Bret on “Mass Timber, An Evolution In Sustainable Construction.”

From personalized customer experiences to automated content creation, AI has the potential to revolutionize our approach to online entrepreneurship. But how can we harness this technology to our advantage? That's a question I tackled in our latest podcast episode. Google Search: Playing by New Rules Google's search algorithms are constantly changing, and staying ahead of the curve is crucial for online visibility. In 2024, we can expect even more updates that will challenge the way we think about SEO and content creation. I've shared some cutting-edge strategies to ensure your blog remains at the top of search results, no matter what Google throws our way. The Cookie Crumbles: A Post-Third-Party World The digital marketing world is bracing for the impact of third-party cookies being phased out. This change will fundamentally alter how we track user behavior and target our advertising. But it's not all doom and gloom! There are innovative approaches to user data that respect privacy while still providing valuable insights. Build Your Personal Brand: Establish yourself as a thought leader in your niche. A strong personal brand can open doors and create opportunities. Develop and Sell Digital Products and Services: Create scalable products like courses, ebooks, or consulting services that can generate revenue without constant hands-on work. Change is going to happen whether we like it or not. And I don't think we have to like it when it happens, but it's important to understand the pros of change happening & the cons of change, but also how those things may be annoying, but beneficial.Show Notes:I have been that person that gets excited for change & really wants change, but also equally experiences a ton of fear alongside those feelings of excitement. You don't have to only experience one thing with everything else being off limits. But I think I experience change this way because I have a ton of hope for the future & how like can get better. Even when life is already good. But I know a ton of people struggle with making changes & following through with changes because of the fear of the unknown, the actions needed to follow through with change, the sadness of moving away from something we found comfortable & easy, and the uncomfortability of having to learn some new things. There is a lot that comes with change that forces us to step outside of our comfort zones & grow. And growth isn't always fun.You might think you are welcoming of change, but here are a few examples of behaviors that demonstrate avoiding change:Staying in a job despite being unfulfilledKnowing you're unhappy but still not changingYou cling to your routine for fear of things falling apartYou bail on new plans & ideas despite wanting to participateBut, like most things, there are two sides of change we should be aware of & understand. There are cons, which are usually the things people enjoy pointing out first because focusing on the negative is much easier than the positive. And there are the pros. And when it comes to change, the pros usually feel like the longest motivational speech there is that we have no desire to listen to. And it's these 2 reasons I thought it would be helpful to go over the pros & cons of change in a way that isn't so boring or fearful and negative. Here are the CONS of Change:You have to do something different & new.You have to do something that takes away from something else (save money, less time with certain people, go somewhere different, work harder on the side hustle than chill time on the couch)You have to endure new pains & problems.Having to go through mistakes & failures.Having lack of control over what's happening. Here are the PROS of Change:New opportunities you wouldn't have otherwise experienced. (jobs, skills, people, places, ect.)You move on from unhelpful habits, experiences & situations. (If you lose someone you love, if you have to give something up, if you have to move, if you're forced to do something in a new way)You'll start a new adventure.Challenges your personal perspective on everything in your life. (This can be our attitude to be more grateful or to see someone else's life differently or how to achieve a goal in a different way, understand how we might need to evaluate how we run our lives)You'll build a stronger mindset the more you experience & ‘make-it-through' change. (The fear will also diminish over time, too.)RSVP for the NEW PLANNER!! https://www.sabrinajoy.com/plannersignupVisit me on Instagram or TikTok: @sabrinajoyperozzo Email Me: realpositivegirlpodcast@gmail.com Sign up for my weekly newsletter https://www.sabrinajoy.com/newsletter!Join the Text Community: Text @realpos to 81010 and you're in!Support the show

How can we manage change when it is so frequent in libraries? On this show Lynn Hoffman, Director of Operations at the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey, shares the brain-based reason why when we are asked to change, then change more, then change again we can feel a high level of resistance. While it can be an exciting time as libraries reimagine ourselves, this episode teaches us how to avoid change overload.
