Since I didn't do an actual trailer reaction for this, and I wish that I did, here goes me geeking out and being completely extra about how this trailer was everything to me... I was blessed enough to grow up with the games and cursed to experience that 90s movie for this, so this is a true treat. Mario here, Luigi there, even Donkey Kong is in the building. Safe to say I am VERY much on board for this. Enjoy, folks.
This week Joe is featuring pianist Eliane Elias from her 2000 Blue Note Records recording titled "Everything I Love".

I like to make a salsa to go with this, with chopped tomatoes, red onion and lots of fresh herbs, finished with a dash of rice wine vinegar and a sprinkle of sugar and salt. Add it on top of the yoghurt – it lifts the whole flavour profile. This is also a tasty sauce to place under pan-seared seafood such as scallops or prawns, or even a nice piece of white-fleshed fishIngredients1 cup green lentils½ tsp ground turmeric1 bay leaf1 bunch spinach, leaves picked, washed well and shredded1 tsp sea salt½ tsp red chilli powder1 tsp cumin seeds, toasted and lightly crushed1 cup tinned chickpeas, drained2 fresh long red chillies, cut into thin rounds1 tbsp Greek-style yoghurtjuice of 1 limesteamed rice, to servechopped tomatoes and chopped coriander, to serve (optional)Method1. Place the lentils in a saucepan, cover with cold water and bring to the boil. Take off the heat, drain immediately and rinse.2. Place the blanched lentils, turmeric, bay leaf and 1 litre (4 cups) water in a heavy-based pan with a tight-fitting lid over medium heat. Stir and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook gently for about 1 hour or until the lentils are tender.3. Add the spinach, sea salt, chilli powder, cumin and 80ml (⅓ cup) water. Stir to combine, then return to a simmer. Cover and simmer gently for 30 minutes, stirring from time to time. Add the chickpeas and heat through, then remove from the heat.4. Stir in the fresh chilli and spoon into a serving bowl. Add the yoghurt on top, then the lime juice, and serve with steamed rice. Top with chopped tomatoes and coriander, if using.

It's a faceoff at the SuperFlex Crossroads! Peter Howard (@pahowdy) – of the Dynasty Crossroads podcast – joins SFD to breakdown their startup experience together, take on the QBX strategy, and discuss the components of the SuperFlex Flywheel. The value is obvious, but what about the weekly production of the 5+ QB roster build? How does the rest of the lineup look on a weekly basis? And how does a WR aficionado like Peter feel about the minimalist WR approach? Plus, Peter pulls out his brand new 2021 projections to identify late round sleepers, remind us not to sleep on the Miami Dolphins, and tell us why the L.A. Rams could – COULD – suck… oh, and he defines “suck.” All that and more, on this week's meeting at the crossroads episode! Why did this show spend 30 minutes on the Heather Martin debacle? But only 5 minutes on Bri's life changing decision to be on The Bachelor? And why is this now Mean Girls? Will Matt James really get engaged at the end of this? Why did they not air the daytime date of the group date? Serena P gets a 2nd 1-on-1 date, which we discuss what Tantric Yoga really is. When we knew Jessenia was getting eliminated (and it's not the reason you think). Why we need more Aloe Blacc. And what was up with Rachael's sniffling? Then, at the 21:00 mark, we are joined by the band Temecula Road!! They discuss their performance on Matt & Pieper's date. Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. John's still exploring the world of modular synthesizers, and finds a new use for his Wii Nunchucks in the process. Kevin & John have both hyped up Lazy Galaxy: Rebel Story in the past—another game included in the itch.io bundle—but Randall isn't quite as impressed.Speaking of the bundle, Kevin is still plugging away! First, it's WitchWay, a deceptively cute puzzle-platformer about rescuing bunnies...yeah, it's that cute! After that, it's Blitz Breaker, an arcade, action-platformer where running is not an option. We wrap things up with a discussion on Firewatch, which John finally gets around to and can't wait to dig in with Randall, who's also played through the majority of the game. We do get into some story spoilers towards the very end of the episode, but there's very ample warning, along with a timestamp below. Welcome to Episode 14. It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you. I had to take a week off...to get my mind right. Nah, forreal...Life just got crazy this week, and I literally didn't have a second to put towards the podcast. But I'm back and I'm ready to talk! In Episode 14, I'm talking about Love and Fear...the only 2 ways to respond to any situation. We talk about Paris and fact that everyone and their mother love Geometry these days...because we can't stop talking about the angles! Everyone has an angle for everything...a spin...to enhance their own piddly agenda. In the hip hop minute, I talk about Talib, RedMan, Logic, and Kirk Franklin...go figure. Free Comic Book Day is an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to help bring new readers into independent comic book stores. Brainstormed by retailer Joe Field of Flying Colors Comics in Concord CA in his "Big Picture" column in the August 2001 issue of Comics & Games Retailer magazine, it was started in 2002 and is coordinated by the industry's single large distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors. The next event will be on May 7, 2011. Free Comic Book Day is scheduled on the first Saturday of May. It has often been tied to the release of a major theatrical film adaptation of a well known superhero property (for example, 2009's FCBD was the day after the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine), in order to take advantage of the film's heavy promotion and related press about the comic book medium. On Free Comic Book Day, participating comic book store retailers give away specially printed copies of free comic books, and some offer cheaper back issues and other items to anyone who visits their establishments. Retailers do not receive the issues for free; they pay 12-50 cents per copy for the comics they will give away for free.

Conventions; an event in which fans of a particular film, television series, comic book, actor, or an entire genre of entertainment such as science fiction or anime and manga, gather to participate and hold programs and other events, and to meet experts, famous personalities, and each other. Some also incorporate commercial activity. Fan conventions are traditionally organized by fans on a not-for-profit basis, though some events catering to fans may be run by commercial interests, either for profit or as part of a promotional program. Actors often give out free autographs to the fans, perhaps in exchange for a flat appearance fee, and sometimes may perform songs that have no relevance to the shows to entertain the fans. Commercial conventions are usually quite expensive and are hosted in hotels. There is often tight security for the celebrities to protect against potentially fanatic fans. We look back on some of our convention experiences, some good, some bad, all fun.

Spider-Man 4 was set to be released worldwide on May 6, 2011, but Sony announced plans to reboot the series after Raimi and Maguire left over script disputes. In 2007, Raimi expressed interest in portraying the transformation of Dr. Curt Connors into his villainous alter-ego, the Lizard; the character's actor Dylan Baker and producer Grant Curtis have also been enthusiastic about the idea. It was reported in December 2009 that John Malkovich was in negotiations to play Vulture, and that Anne Hathaway would play Felicia Hardy, though she would not have transformed into the Black Cat, as in the comics. Instead, Raimi's Felicia was expected to become a brand-new superpowered figure called the Vulturess. Sony Pictures announced in January 2010 that plans for Spider-Man 4 had been cancelled due to Raimi's withdrawal from the project. Raimi reportedly ended his participation due to doubt that he could meet the planned May 2011 release date while upholding the film creatively. We take a look at the Spider-Man reboot. Is it valid and maybe the companies need to put aside their differences and just hugs all around and with the trend of restarting a comic after ending it only to ghost number it so that it reaches a milestone issue number 200, 600, 500 for example...and a special guest appearance by Onyx.
