Send a text to Melissa and she'll answer it on the next episode. Dive into the fascinating world of constitutional prescribing, a concept that represents perhaps the most misunderstood territory in homeopathy. As practitioners and patients alike grapple with identifying "constitutional remedies," this episode clarifies the crucial distinction between what's truly constitutional versus what's fundamental or pathological.Your constitution represents your genetic blueprint—the unchangeable aspects of your physical structure, metabolism, and baseline tendencies. Drawing from the teachings of Dr. Francisco Xavier Eizayaga (1923-2001), we explore how your constitutional type (primarily Calc Carb, Sulfur, Silica, or Phosphorus) differs fundamentally from the layers of acquired conditions that build throughout life.Melissa and Bri untangle the confusion between classical homeopathic approaches, where "constitutional" often means whatever remedy matches your current symptoms, versus the more precise definition where constitutional remedies strengthen your healthy baseline state. This distinction changes everything about treatment priorities—we must clear pathologies and fundamental issues before supporting the constitution.Physical characteristics provide important clues, from the short, square physique of Calc Carb types to the tall, thin frame of Phosphorus constitutions. Yet these indicators represent just part of a comprehensive assessment that includes genetic tendencies, basic temperament, and inherent strengths and weaknesses.Whether you're new to homeopathy or an experienced practitioner, understanding constitutional prescribing transforms how you approach treatment. It shifts the focus from constantly changing remedies to recognizing the unchangeable foundation while clearing acquired layers. By strengthening your constitutional vitality, you create resilience against the energy-draining stressors of modern life.Want to explore this fascinating topic in greater depth? Join us for our upcoming live course on constitutional prescribing, where we'll delve into detailed remedy profiles, potency selection, dosing strategies, and practical case taking approaches. You may also gain Access to my Fullscript dispensary and save 30% by going to: https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/mcrenshawFIND ME!

On this eye-opening episode of Vitality Radio, Jared breaks down the part of the supplement label most people ignore: other Ingredients. While active ingredients get all the attention, it's often the excipients—binders, fillers, flow agents, coatings, and colorants—that determine whether your supplement is truly clean and effective. Jared exposes why manufacturers use these "inactive" ingredients, how they impact product quality, and which common additives you should avoid. You'll learn how to read this overlooked section of your supplement label and become an informed, empowered consumer.Additional Information:#525: Decoding Supplement Fact Panels and Becoming a More Informed ConsumerOther Ingredients Breakdown Blog PostVisit the podcast website here: VitalityRadio.comYou can follow @vitalitynutritionbountiful and @vitalityradio on Instagram, or Vitality Radio and Vitality Nutrition on Facebook. The discourse presented herein elucidates the pivotal role of water treatment in the realm of detailing, emphasizing a fundamental truth: the impossibility of water softening without the incorporation of salt. Throughout our conversation, we critically examine the myriad types of purported "salt-free" softeners, which, upon closer scrutiny, reveal themselves to be merely template-assisted crystallization systems, rather than genuine softeners. Our esteemed guest, Cydian Kauffman from Pure Water Northwest, sheds light on the intricacies of water testing and the necessity of understanding one's water composition for effective detailing. We delve into the implications of water hardness on both the efficacy of detailing products and the long-term aesthetics of vehicle surfaces, thereby underscoring the necessity for professionals in the industry to be acutely aware of their water quality. This episode constitutes a clarion call to detailers to prioritize water treatment in their operational protocols, ensuring optimal results in their detailing endeavors.Takeaways: The efficacy of water softeners is contingent upon their salt content, which is essential for proper function. Salt-free softeners are often misrepresented; they utilize template-assisted crystallization to mitigate hardness, not soften water. Testing water quality is imperative before selecting a treatment system; assumptions can lead to ineffective solutions. Both hardness and mineral composition in water can lead to unsightly spots on surfaces and require tailored cleaning methods for removal. Detailers should consider using a combination of water softeners and deionized systems to optimize their washing efficiency and minimize spotting. Understanding the chemical composition of water is crucial for achieving desired detailing results, particularly in challenging environments. Today, we're going to talk about the top foods for hair growth. Number 4 is the most important!1. Bamboo shoots are high in trace minerals, potassium, and silica—essential for building hair protein. Silica makes hair strong and elastic and also prevents breakage and brittleness. Silica supports skin, joint, and bone health as well!2. Wild-caught salmon is an excellent source of protein and is loaded with nutrition. It's also one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Wild-caught salmon is a potent source of vitamin D3, which can improve nearly every problem with hair loss. Vitamin D controls the hair follicle and can activate dormant hair follicle stem cells.3. Egg yolks are loaded with biotin, vital for keratin production. They also contain all of the fat-soluble nutrients that are essential for hair growth and hair health. Egg yolks are a rich source of cholesterol, a precursor for the hormones necessary for hair growth. Cholesterol increases hair shine and luster and strengthens the hair shaft. Egg yolks contain vitamin D and sulfur, which supports a healthy scalp.4. Grass-fed liver contains concentrated amounts of almost every nutrient. It's high in iron, vital for oxygen transport to the scalp. One of the most common causes of hair shedding is iron deficiency. An iron deficiency can be caused by low iron or a copper deficiency. Copper is vital for the proper function of iron, and beef liver is loaded with it! It also contains zinc, which is essential in the appropriate ratio to copper. Zinc is necessary in the formation of hair and protein synthesis. Beef liver also contains folate and vitamin B12, which can reduce graying. The nutrients in beef liver are bioavailable, so your body can easily absorb them. Beef liver contains the active, bioavailable form of vitamin A and biotin. It's best to get biotin from a food source rather than a supplement.
In this episode, I explore horsetail, a fascinating living fossil that's remained virtually unchanged for 300 million years, and its remarkable silica content.I share why proper preparation methods matter for extracting horsetail's full mineral benefits, going beyond quick steeping to unlock its medicinal potential through infusions and vinegar preparations.I dive into silica as the literal building block of structure in our bodies—essential for collagen production, skin elasticity, and bone strength. Did you know horsetail contains 5-8% bioavailable silica by dry weight? I'll explain why this ancient plant delivers silica in a form our bodies recognize and utilize better than synthetic supplements.I cover emerging research on silica's role in aluminum detoxification and share how horsetail's jointed structure perfectly mirrors its action in our body's structural systems. You'll learn five key physiological benefits of incorporating horsetail during spring transitions: supporting detoxification, strengthening connective tissue, enhancing bone health, improving skin integrity, and supporting kidney health. I'll also explore how silica works synergistically with other minerals like calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc.By the end, I introduce my "Mineral Foundations" mini-course, which combines functional nutrition with ancestral wisdom to reconnect you with essential mineral building blocks. This foundational approach works with or without specialized testing, creating the solid base needed before pursuing advanced health strategies.Whether you're seeking personal health improvements or you're a practitioner looking to strengthen your mineral knowledge, today's episode offers critical insights into reclaiming our birthright to vitality in a modern world that has forgotten these elemental foundations. HPQ Silicon (TSX-V: HPQ) is on the brink of a significant transformation in the manufacturing of Fumed Silica, with the successful scaling of its proprietary Fumed Silica Reactor (FSR). This milestone marks a critical step toward commercial production, validating the process and providing a clear path forward for full-scale operations. The company is confident that its breakthrough technology will disrupt the traditional, fossil-fuel-dependent manufacturing methods in the industry.STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND INDUSTRY VALIDATIONHPQ's LOI with major industry player Evonikfurther validates the company's progress and positions it to negotiate future off-take agreements.NDA discussions with another interested company indicate growing interest from industry leaders in HPQ's Fumed Silica process."Since 1944, the fumed silica industry has relied on conventional, fossil-fuel-intensive production methods. PyroGenesis is committed to breaking that cycle through innovation," said P. Peter Pascali, CEO of PyroGenesis.HPQ has successfully scaled its process by a factor of 20, producing Fumed Silica with the same high-quality properties observed in lab-scale testing. The company now focuses on final system adjustments and expects to complete additional testing to refine its production approach. Bernard Tourillon, CEO of HPQ, is optimistic that these final steps will lead to commercial-grade production, positioning the company to make a substantial impact in a multi-billion-dollar market.NAVIGATING RISKS AND REWARDS OF SCALINGWhile scaling up the pilot plant presents risks, HPQ sees no difference in risk regardless of production size, emphasizing that once the process is proven at a smaller scale, they can move toward securing deals and financing. The company is exploring scaling options up to 1,000 tons per year, which could significantly enhance profitability. As HPQ progresses toward commercialization, the company also acknowledges the retirement of Robert Robitaille, a longtime director with the company since 2008. Fracture risk reduction should be the primary focus in treating osteoporosis. Hormone replacement therapy can effectively maintain and improve bone density in postmenopausal women. Proper nutrition, digestion, and inflammation management are crucial for bone health. MK4, a form of vitamin K2, has been shown to improve bone density and reduce fractures, while MK7 has not. While magnesium is important for overall health, there is limited evidence to support its role in reducing fractures. Exercise, including resistance training and functional exercises, can help improve bone health and reduce fracture risk.
“Your test kit is your tool, and you are the master of that tool. “- Trace Blackmore In this insightful episode of Scaling Up! H2O Podcast, host Trace Blackmore delves into the critical topic of understanding and optimizing water treatment tests. This episode is designed to equip water treatment professionals with practical knowledge to enhance their test-taking techniques and interpretation skills. The Concept of Pinks and Blues Trace shares the origins of the term “pinks and blues,” coined by his father, and explains its significance in water testing. He stresses the importance of understanding that tests are tools to confirm or disprove hypotheses about system conditions, not tasks that generate revenue. This foundational mindset shift sets the stage for improving both the efficiency and effectiveness of test execution. Strategic Testing Approaches Trace provides a comprehensive breakdown of running tests in the most efficient order, starting with the longest tests and multitasking with shorter ones while waiting. This strategic approach helps water professionals maximize time on-site. He also discusses the value of running tests based on hypothesis-driven objectives, such as walking through the site and engaging with clients before taking samples. Categorizing and Interpreting Your Tests Listeners will gain insight into organizing test types into meaningful categories: Base water Concentrated water Product contributions System signs Trace illustrates how to establish true concentration levels and interpret results to identify potential issues like scaling, precipitation, and system corrosion. The importance of using non-scaling ions, like silica, for accurate concentration analysis is also explained. Analyzing Interpretative Skills Trace walks through examples that highlight how to use test results for informed decision-making, whether it's confirming system status or taking corrective action. He advises on how to integrate polymer tests and other contributing product measurements into your routine for a fuller picture of system health. This deep dive into interpretation emphasizes a detective-like approach to problem-solving in water treatment. Final Thoughts and Essential Tips The episode concludes with Trace's encouragement to prioritize understanding your test procedures and knowing the interferences that can affect results. He underscores the importance of planning tests efficiently and being prepared with all necessary tools before visiting client sites. By mastering these practices, listeners can transform their testing routine into a powerful tool for maintaining system integrity and customer relationships. Stay engaged, keep learning, and continue scaling up your knowledge! As you stand in front of it, you may see the handholes and manholes opened. The room may be much quieter than normal because the burners and air blowers aren't running. It may be a firetube or water tube boiler. The inspection will be different between the two, with several commonalities as well. Before you start your inspection, what should you do? Have you spoken to the operators in the area? Have you followed proper safety protocols for confined space entry, lockout/tagout, etc.? Do you feel safe entering the boiler? Do you know the history of the boiler before going in? Does this history of water treatment and boiler performance allow you to predict what you will see inside the boiler? How will you document what you find? How will you collect any samples, if necessary? How dirty will you get? Do you know the equipment you will see inside the boiler, such as steam-water separators, baffle plates, downcomers, feedwater piping, etc.? What do you expect the water line to look like? Where will oxygen pitting or hard water scaling first show up in the boiler if there was a problem? Will you be inspecting the deaerator as well? How long will it take you to get the boiler inspection report to your client? Doing a proper boiler inspection takes time, experience, knowledge, attention to detail, and often agility. If you are looking for an emerging small cap stock that is literally shattering the performance metrics of an old conventional industry, then you are going to love this interview with HPQ Silicon. Why? Silicon Metal manufacturing is the largest emitter of CO2 on a per ton basis on the planet. HPQ Silicon is on the verge of shattering the manufacturing process of fumed Silica which is used in cosmetics, toothpaste & powdered foods - but needs to burn silicon in the process. How disruptive is the HPQ Silicon Process? Energy Consumption—--------------Up to 92% Lower Greenhouse Gases—----------------Up to 99.9% Lower Hydrogen Chloride Gas—-----------Complete Elimination CAPEX—-----------------—------------ 93% Less These reductions led to HPQ Signing A Letter of Intent with Evonik Corporation, a $10 Billion company and the inventor of fumed Silica, on July 9, 2024. MAJOR MILESTONE REACHED IN SUSTAINABLE SILICA PRODUCTION HPQ Silicon announced a significant milestone with the successful commissioning of its proprietary Fumed Silica Reactor (FSR). This development is a key step in the commercialization of HPQ's innovative technology, designed to meet the growing demand for fumed silica produced in a safer, more energy-efficient manner. TRANSITIONING TO COMMERCIAL SCALE The commissioning of the company's pilot plant marks the transition from laboratory to pilot plant operations, enabling HPQ to begin batch production of fumed silica. President and CEO Bernard Tourillon remarked, “We are highly confident that the next steps in the program will be completed successfully. This is a unique opportunity, and we are proud to be at the forefront of a transformation that will revolutionise fumed silica manufacturing.” Key highlights from the press release include: Pilot Plant Readiness: The FSR pilot plant is now fully operational, preparing to produce commercial-grade silica samples for external testing. Market Potential: The fumed silica market is experiencing increased demand, with a focus on safer production methods, as noted by PyroGenesis CEO P. Peter Pascali: “The Fumed Silica project is an important project for PyroGenesis... due to the overall market size and breadth for fumed silica and the increasing demand for a safer production method.” Strategic Partnerships: HPQ is collaborating with industry leaders like Evonik, ensuring that produced materials meet high industry specifications. PRODUCTION GOALS AND MARKET POSITIONING As HPQ enters the batch production phase, the primary objective will be to validate the process's ability to replicate essential physical properties of fumed silica. With plans to optimize pilot plant operations by Q1 2025, HPQ aims to produce food- and pharma-grade fumed silica. Investors should note that, with the potential for a commercial-scale operation producing 1,000 tonnes per year, HPQ Silicon Inc. is well-positioned to capture a significant share of a market characterized by rapidly growing demand and limited supply from traditional production methods. With the successful commissioning of the FSR pilot plant, HPQ Silicon stands at the forefront of a pivotal shift in the fumed silica market. This achievement not only validates the company's innovative technology but also positions it strategically for future growth. As HPQ advances through the upcoming production phases, this may well be the moment that investors have been waiting for—an opportunity to engage with a company poised for substantial success in a burgeoning industry. To gain further insights into HPQ's strategic vision and operational milestones, we invite you to watch the full interview with CEO Bernard Tourillon.

In this episode, Dr. Jon Belkowitz and Seth discuss colloidal silica and its various applications in the concrete industry. Dr. Jon highlights the differences between colloidal silica and silicates, emphasizing the benefits of using colloidal silica as a densifier and for surface treatments. He also mentions the ongoing efforts to create an ASTM standard for colloidal silica. The conversation touches on the importance of performance testing and the potential long-term impact of using colloidal silica in concrete. Takeaways • Colloidal silica is a controlled suspension of nano-sized particles of silica, typically between 1 and 100 nanometers in diameter. • Colloidal silica is used as a densifier and for surface treatments in the concrete industry. • Silicates, on the other hand, react quickly and create a gel-like surface, which can limit penetration into the concrete. • Using colloidal silica instead of silicates can provide longer-term benefits and reduce the risk of issues like hydrolysis in flooring systems. • The ASTM is working on creating a standard specification for colloidal silica use in concrete, including performance testing. • Colloidal silica offers ease of finishing and can help prevent issues like pinholes in the concrete surface.Chapters 00:00 Introduction and Overview 03:06 Definition and History of Colloidal Silica 07:16 Differences Between Colloidal Silica and Silicates 13:15 The Importance of Using the Right Materials in Concrete 26:07 Progress Update on ASTM Standard for Colloidal Silica***Did you learn something from this episode? It's an animal-themed episode for better or for WAY worse. Sarah reports on a new dinosaur fossil discovered in silica, which preserved its strange, patchy feathers and scaly skin, but made her wonder why the devil he had teeny tiny arms (that make the t-rex's seem like Shaq's), so she's got a theory. We have a mystery in Colorado involving a bunch of women's shoes, a fence, and a lake, and Susie thinks there was an avant garde photoshoot, but Sarah thinks there is a serial killer on the loose. We hope Susie is right. We learn why scientists were wrong about the origins of puppy dog eyes. But the real memorable moment of this episode came when Sarah had to confront one of her worst fears live on the air. Aquene Springs founder, Michael Hobson, has spent his life studying frequencies. First as a mathematician, then as an econometrics professor and corporate business consultant, through his several businesses in the music industry at the forefront of both the vinyl movement and live recording industries, Michael's interest in frequencies eventually brought him to water. He became fascinated with water and started a nearly decade-long deep dive into understanding it in all its capabilities. After years of studying water, water structure and water frequencies, deepening his understanding of this under-appreciated molecule that appears to be the foundation of all Life on Earth, Michael heard about a special water that came from a source in a remote part of Idaho. Thorough a series of coincidences, he found his way to the spring where pristine water, that tastes like no other, finds its way to the Earth's surface at 139 degrees Fahrenheit and naturally comes out of the ground at 80 gallons/minute. It was here, in this special place, known for centuries to Native Americans as Crystal Spring, that it became clear to Michael that he would have a role in helping to bring this water to the public. Hobson sees frequencies as a way for humanity to connect, communicate and heal and knows water plays an important role in life, longevity, health and personal growth. Michael built Aquene Springs with the intention of shepherding this Source Water to the world, and protecting the untouched nature that surrounds the spring from which it comes.Highlights in this episode: Not all water is created equal.Silica-rich water promotes healthful longevity.Water is the transducer of life.Resources: Aquenesprings.com

Perhaps type II is required?: https://jissn.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1550-2783-10-48 Types I and III can be purchased in bulk powder form, but type II appears to be only easily available in small doses via capsules or mixed in with types I and III in unknown, probably small amounts. I suffered a massive ankle injury from a bike accident, so am looking for as much extra help healing as I can get. I'm already getting 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight and eating paleo plus lots of homemade bone broth. Maybe the extra collagen isn't necessary? Thanks, Eric Diatomaceous Earth for Silica and Heavy Metal Detox Nate writes: Hey Robb and Nicki, Appreciate all you do. Long time reader and listener. Have you dug into (or tinkered around with) diatomaceous earth as a supplement? I've been hearing about how consuming a food grade version of this at low doses (~a teaspoon a day) can detox heavy metals from your body, and that it is high in silica, which has been claimed to have health benefits of its own. As more and more metals are discovered in our food, our foods packaging (such as aluminum cans), our water supply, and really in our environment all around us, do you see the consumption of diatomaceous earth as an effective and also safe way to help rid your body of some, or any of these metals? Thanks guys. Exercise and Blood Pressure as T-10 paraplegic Eric writes: Robb and Nicki, thanks so much for your balanced approach to all the questions you answer. And thanks for all the wisdom you dispense. It's truly appreciated. A rundown on myself: I'm a 35yo male, 5”10 and 155lbs. I've been a T-10 paraplegic for 20 years. I had a MVA when I was 15, which resulted in my spinal cord injury (SCI). I've been eating paleo for about 3 years now with great success. I've never felt better and I've never been more regular. Being regular can be a very difficult thing when you have a neurogenic bowel. I recently had bloodwork done. Cholesterol 215. Triglycerides 34. HDL 69. LDL 136. Non HDL 146. Coronary risk ratio 3.12. Hemoglobin A1C 5.2. Mean glucose 103. Insulin 5.3. Every man in my family seems destined to have a heart attack or need a stint at age 50, so I've really tried to be as healthy as possible. I feel like I'm doing pretty good. If not, please tell me. I work 40 hours a week and try to be as active as possible. I also have an 18 month old so she keeps me moving. But I have a couple concerns. Exercise: it feels like, damned if you do and damned if you don't. I know it's important, but every single time I try to exercise regularly, I always end up pulling something. EVERY DAY IS ARM DAY. And when that's the case, it takes forever for things to heal up. I'll inevitably have to take 2 or 3 entire weekends where I do nothing but sit on the couch and watch movies all day, trying to rest the injury as much as possible. This is on top of regular “wheelchair life” repetitive stress injuries. I can't help but feeling like the juice just isn't worth the squeeze. I'm probably better off staying as generally active as possible. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Maybe one just inevitably has a shorter lifespan as a paraplegic. If so, I'm okay with that. It'd just be nice to know. The second question is about blood pressure. Coffee and tea seem to raise my top number between 130-150, and it typically stays elevated within that range throughout the day. The bottom number will get up to about 80. When off caffeine my BP is typically 120/70. Should I be worried about this? Also, what the heck? This is from one 12oz cup of black coffee a day. It doesn't mess with my sleep or anything else. Just BP. Could there be a way to counteract it? Please don't tell me I need to give up the nectar of the gods.
