On this episode of BSTV, Ya Boi Shad & G. Downs sat down with the legendary Gorilla Zoe. They began by discussing his origins, growing up in Griffin, Georgia, before moving to California and eventually settling in Atlanta. They then delved into his journey into hip-hop, revealing that he never aspired to be a rapper. However, fate intervened when he met Bloc Ent. Gorilla Zoe shared the story of writing the hit song “Hood Nigga,” which was initially intended for the group Boyz N Da Hood. Bloc Ent convinced him to record the track, which catapulted him to fame. Gorilla Zoe also spoke about joining Boyz N Da Hood after Jeezy's departure. His debut album exceeded expectations, propelling him to international stardom as a rap artist. He reminisced about collaborating with other hit artists like Young Joc, Lil Wayne on “Lost,” and Rick Ross on “You Know What It Is.” The conversation then turned to Gorilla Zoe's close relationship with legend Gucci Mane, and their early collaboration "Walk With A Waddle". He also addressed the question of Gucci Mane's bipolar disorder. Gorilla Zoe shared his experiences working with the legendary producer Zaytoven. He then discussed his departure from Bloc Ent and the enduring cordial relationship they maintain to this day. Jada Ali is a female rap artist and songwriter from Flint, Michigan with a vision and a plan. The music bug bit her at the young age of 10 years-old when she began writing songs and recording over cassette tapes. Some of her musical influences were MC Lyte, Foxy Brown, Queen Latifah, Missy Elliot, Eve, Da Brat, Lauryn Hill, and Left-Eye. Continuously working on her craft, Jada started recording in professional studios at age 15, and by 2010, she released her first body of work. From there, she performed at all of the major shows in Flint and surrounding areas, getting a chance to share stages with prominent rap acts such as Trina, Rasheeda, Gorilla Zoe, J. Cole, Dej Loaf, and Cardi B. From 2016 to 2019, Jada worked under the guidance of Flint native and national recording artist Jon Connor who showed her the ropes of the music business and furthered her artist development. Her experience with Connor prompted her to establish her own company, Round Table Association, where she plans to sign artists with drive and a love for music like herself. At the top of 2020, Jada kicked off the year with the release of her single “Focus” produced by Lost Champions. The title of the song coincides with her hustle mindset as she's focused in her mission to achieve major success and give back to her hometown of Flint.

Artists all over the country know that if they want to secure a mega hit, all they have to do is contact super-producer DJ Montay. Montay Humphrey exploded with back to back Top 10 hits in 2008 alone. His most successful claim to fame is producing the number one smash hit "Low" by Flo Rida featuring T-Pain. "Low" stood at the number one spot for 10 weeks on the Billboard singles chart, and was one of the biggest songs of 2008, with 450,000 digital downloads in one week and earning two Grammy nominations. It also helped Montay secure a Producer of the Year nomination at the Ozone Awards as well as several BMI music awards. "Low" has topped every chart including: iTunes, Billboard’s Top Digital download, Billboard Pop singles, Billboard Top R&B/ Rap singles, Billboard Top Rap singles, and countless others. This single features an instantly recognizable bangin’ beat, a signature T-Pain hook and a hot, lyrical flow from Flo Rida. Describing how the song broke nationwide, DJ Montay said, "It started with DJ Khaled in Miami and I was playing it here in the ATL, and it took off from there." By 2006 DJ Montay assembled an impressive list of production credits, but it was the smash hit single "Walk it Out," produced for fellow Oomp Camp member Unk, that solidified him as a household name. The song started on the radio in Atlanta in early 2006 and then eventually took off, peaking at number one on the Billboard R&B singles. It instantly became a club classic that had people running to dance floors all across America. The DJ Montay- produced remix, which featured Andre 3000, Unk, Jim Jones and Big Boi, became an instant hit in its own right as a digital download favorite. Shortly after the breakthrough success, DJ Montay delivered another club banger "2 Step," the follow- up single from Unk's debut album "Beat’n Down Yo Block" distributed by Koch Entertainment. Its booming bass drops and unique melody reached the Billboard Top Five. And as with any other DJ Montay-produced hit, the remix featured appearances from big names like T-Pain, Jim Jones and E-40. Incredibly, "Walk it Out" and "2 Step" have generated over 2 million ringtone purchases combined. Not one to rest, DJ Montay produced "Who the F#k is that" by Konvict Music/ Jive Records late artist Dolla featuring Akon & T-Pain. He also produced "I’d Rather" for the Academy Award-winning group Three 6 Mafia and "Creepin" by Chamillionaire featuring Ludacris. His credits also include Ice Cube's "It is What it Is" off of his "I Am the West" album, "Twisted" by Gorilla Zoe featuring Lil Jon and the irresponsibly catchy "Everybody Drunk" off of Ludacris' "Battle of the Sexes" album. In addition he produced the hit record "Foolish" for Atlanta-bred rapper Shawty Lo and songs for the Ying Yang Twins, DJ Kay Slay and Sheek Louch from the Lox. His newer production credits include rapper T.I.’s “Can You Learn” off his “Trouble Man” album featuring R. Kelly, Lil Jon’s “Pop that P**$y” and a track for Memphis rapper 8 Ball. Montay has assembled a production discography that can’t be messed with. His latest hits include “Mainstream Ratchet” and “So We Can Live” by 2 Chainz and “Money Can’t Buy” by Ne-Yo featuring Young Jeezy. He’s also responsible for producing popular songs like “Up Down” (Remix) by T-Pain, “Geronimo” by Clinton Sparks and “Mexico” by Cash Out. DJ Montay has firmly established himself as one of the top producers in the country and his musical resume continues to grow. He’s the product of hard work and –even though he’s already achieved so much- he’s still in the studio six days a week. With his relentless work ethic, you never know whose hit he might produce next."I’m trying to be versatile- not just ATL projects. You never know what to expect –R&B, Pop, Rap, the list goes on. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

What it dew Trillions! Back again with episode 67 of the Truth Be Told Podcast from Trillmatic.com hosted by Riffa & Bigg UU. Thanks for supporting the podcast! Be sure to leave a 5 star review!  Riffa has never heard of Rich Chigga or watched the official video for 'Dat Stick'. We kick this episode off with a live reaction from Riffa. Needless to say he was caught off guard and impressed. We also talked about Riffa's life changing after being introduced to the music streaming app that is Apple Music for his Android phone. We also reminisce on Gorilla Zoe's rap career and a new album he dropped recently.  17:15 We reviewed the project 'Revenge' from Xxxtentacion. Being that he's new to us, we're giving you an unbiased review which you can't get from most places. We discuss the range of Xxxtentacion and if he'll have a future in music. If you know us, you might be surprised by our reaction. We also spoke briefly on the Lil Yachty's new album 'Teenage Emotions' which has a different response from us. Yes, this is the podcast of reviews and we also reviewed Gucci Mane & Metro Boomin's project 'DropTopWop'. We definitely had differing views on this one.  42:07 It's been 15 years since he dropped his album 'The Eminem Show' and we reminisced on the impact of the album. Where were you when this album came out? We also speak briefly on the Renegade and if Jay Z really got washed.  48:00 Meek Mill recently announced the title of his new album 'Wins and Losses' and he posted an instagram video of him listening to Drake's 'Back to Back'. We discuss what Meek Mill needs to talk about on his new album to regain his status.  57:54 CyHi The Prynce is gearing up to release his debut album 'No Dope On Sundays', the lyrical mastermind behind some of Kanye West's later projects. We discuss what's keeping CyHi The Prynce from reaching the masses. We talk about rappers taking the indie route and how it works for some and not all.  1:10:00 50 Cent is becoming the Black Television show Godfather and is working on a new TV Series based around the crime syndicate for 'Black Mafia Family'. We talk about how these moves from 50 Cent is opening doors for more stories to be told. We also talked about the show 'Start Up' which is on the streaming service Crackle. We also talk about the collaborative album from Bizzy Bone and Krayzie Bone which is on the way. And definitely a few more topics on the way out.  Need a website and hosting for your podcast? Welcome to another edition of Po Politickin. In this episode, we politick with Soufside. Artist Bio Mixing the slick hardcore rap of Rick Ross with more of a traditional, David Banner-styled Southern sound, Bobby R. Colvin, Jr. became rapper/producer Soufside when he joined his high-school hip-hop crew, the Big Shots. After recording some demos with the group, the Columbus, Mississippi native realized he was more of a solo artist than a crew member, so he set off on his own, attending college in Atlanta before returning home. He made his solo debut in 2009 with the mixtape The Hood's Hope, and by the end of the year he signed with the 35*35 label, owned by former NBA star Clarence Weatherspoon. In 2012 he hit with the singles "Hello" and "Got Me Feeling," along with the EP Hard Work Pays Off. Two years later he dropped some high-profile collaborations with "I'm Just Coolin'" featuring Gorilla Zoe and "Everything Moves" featuring Bun B, both landing in 2014.

This is a flashback episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah [due to us getting ready for our trip to perform at this year's North by Northeast (NXNE) festivities] for the week of May 29, 2013 (originally broadcast on June 3, 2009) featuring some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary from that time. The commentary from that week's episode focused on the recent so-called "reverse racist" controversy of the Sotomayor nomination for the U.S. Supreme Court, the passing of academic Dr. Ivan Van Sertima (R.I.P.) and some other things here and there. We had a great interview with author Thembisa Mshaka about her latest book about the ins and outs of the entertainment industry for women (and just people in general) called "Put Your Dreams First: Handle Your [entertainment] Business". Some of the topics we went over with Ms. Mshaka included how a lot of women are in the entertainment business behind the scenes, the importance of having a solid mentor for assistance in getting into the industry, the mentality of the "microwave" (a.k.a.) way to stardom and how that is false, balancing your personal and professional life and a lot of other interesting things! Due to the length of the interview, we did not have new Black Agenda Report or Direct EFX segments that week. This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of June 3, 2009 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary. This week's commentary focused on the recent so-called "reverse racist" controversy of the Sotomayor nomination for the U.S. Due to the length of this week's interview, we do not have new Black Agenda Report or Direct EFX segments this week.
