In this episode Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss sixteen example of changes made to a number of Quranic manuscripts to fit the 1924 Hafs edition of the Quran. Al and Jay took those examples from Dr Daniel Brubaker book" Creating the Quran" . This book has been so damaging to the standard Islamic narrative that claims that the Quran has been perfectly preserved. Listen to this episode to learn the details of these damaging changes.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Continuing last week's discussion, Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith say that Ibn Mujaahed chose the seven Kira'at in the tenth century. The criteria for choosing them was popularity. Hafs differ from the other Kira'at by 93 thousand dots and vowels. Therefore the preservation claim does not stand the test. They give several examples between the Hafs and Warsh: 1. Sura 2:184 ; Al miskeen and Al masaakeen; the first is singular noun and the second is the plural form of the noun. 2. Sura 3:146; the words kaatala (fought) and kutila (killed). These differences have huge theological and practice implications. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Dr Jay and Al Fadi discuss the multiple different Arabic Qurans that a Turkish sister called Hattun found in different Arabic countries starting in 2016. Dr Jay and Hattun took the Qurans to speakers corner in England where they showed them to Muslims who were shocked to hear and see that, because they have been told by their leaders that the Quran has been perfectly preserved to the letter and the dot. The Muslim response was that these are different readings for different dialects. There is five thousand differences between the two major versions which are called the Hafs and the Warsh alone. These differences do not only change the doctrine and the practice, but also the theology. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Hasan (r.a.)'den şöyle rivayet edilmiştir: “Bir gün Hz. Ömer (r.a.) bir çöplüğün yanından geçerken orada bir müddet beklemiş ve bu durumdan berâberindekiler rahatsız olmuştu. Bunun üzerine Hz. Ömer (r.a.) onlara dönüp “İşte, hırsla çabaladığınız dünyanız bu” demiştir. Yahyâ b. Ca'de (r.a.)'den Hz. Ömer (r.a.)'in şöyle dediği rivayet edilmiştir: “Şayet üç şey olmamış olsaydı, Allâhü Teâlâ'ya kavuşmayı tercîh ederdim: Eğer, Allâh için secdeye kapanıyor olmasaydım, meyvelerin en güzellerinin seçildiği gibi, sözlerin en iyisinin seçildiği meclislere iştirak etmemiş olsaydım ve eğer Allâh yolunda yolculuğa, cihâda çıkmamış olsaydım. Allâhü Teâlâ'ya mülâkî olmayı tercîh ederdim.” Mus'ab b. Sa'd'(r.a.)'nın şöyle dediği rivayet edilmiştir: “Hafsa binti Ömer (r.anha) (babasına): “Ey mü'minlerin emîri! Ne var, bu elbiseden daha yumuşak bir elbise giysen, yediklerinden daha güzel yemekler yesen. Allâhü Teâlâ geniş geniş rızık vermiş, pek çok hayır (ihsan) etmiş” dedi. Hz. Ömer (r.a.): “Ben seni kendi nefsine bırakacağım” Hatırlamıyor musun, Resûlullâh (s.a.v.)'in ne şiddetli geçim sıkıntısıyla karşı karşıya geldiğini' dedi. Hz. Hafsâ (r.anha)'yı ağlatıncaya kadar hatırlatmaya devam etti. Ve ona dedi ki: “Bunu sana söylemekten maksadım şu, Allâh'a yemin olsun ki, ben şayet güç yetirebilirsem, onlara çetin geçimlerinde ortak olacağım; belki bu sayede Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) ve Hz. Ebûbekir (r.a.)'ın âhiretteki rahat geçimlerine kavuşurum.” Ebu Katâde (r.a.)'den rivayet edildiğine göre, bir Cumâ günü Hz. Ömer (r.a.) geç kalmış ve bu geç kalmasından dolayı onlara özür beyan ederek şöyle demiştir: “Beni ancak şu elbisenin yıkanması alıkoymuştur. O yıkanıyordu ve benim ondan başka hiçbir elbisem yoktu.” Hasan (r.a.)'dan rivayet edildiğine göre, Hz. Ömer (r.a.) halîfe olduğu halde üzerinde on iki yaması olan bir gömlekle insanlara hutbe irâd etmiştir. (Ahmed b. Hanbel, Kitabü'z-Zühd, s.132)
Dr Jay and Al Fadi continue the comparison between the upper and the lower layers of the Sana manuscripts of the Quran with the 1924 Hafs edition of the Quran. They point out differences that changes the meaning of the text; for example Sura 9: 9 in the lower layer of the manuscripts states" the way of Allah while the Hafs Quran of 1924 says 'His way". Another difference in the upper layer as an example is Sura 7: 76 "you directed vs he directed" They point out that most of the differences have to do with the diacritical marking which did not exist until the 8th century. Even with the upper layer of the manuscripts there was no standardized Quran yet. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ashâb-ı Kirâm (r.a.e.)'den Mürre el-Fihrî (r.a.)'den rivâyet edildiğine göre, Nebiyy-i Ekrem (s.a.v.) şöyle buyurdu: “Ben ve yetimi himâye eden kimse, şu iki parmağın birbirine yakınlığı gibi cennette yan yana olacağız.” Tâbiînden Ebû Bekir ibni Hafs (r.a.)'den rivâyet edildiğine göre, Abdullah ibni Ömer (r.a.), sofrasında bir yetim olmadan yemek yemezdi. Tâbiîn âlimi Hasan-ı Basrî (r.a.) şöyle demiştir: “Bir yetim, Abdullah ibni Ömer (r.a.) yemek yerken hep sofrasında bulunurdu. Bir gün kendisine yemek getirmelerini, yetimi de çağırmalarını söyledi, fakat onu bulamadılar. Yetim, İbni Ömer (r.a.) yemeğini yiyip bitirdikten sonra geldi. İbni Ömer (r.a.) ona da yemek getirmelerini söyledi, fakat evde yemek kalmamıştı. Bunun üzerine ona kavut ile bal getirdiler. Abdullah ibni Ömer (r.a.)o yetime: “Haydi başla, vallahi aldanmış sayılmazsın.” dedi. Hasan-ı Basrî (r.a.) bu olayı anlattıktan sonra: “Vallahi İbni Ömer de aldanmamıştır” dedi. Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz yetimlere, özellikle de hem anasını hem babasını kaybeden yavrulara sahip çıkmamızı istiyor. Onları bağrımıza basmamızı tavsiye ediyor. Ve kendisinin, yetim hâmisi merhametli kimselerle cennette yan yana bulunacağını müjdeliyor. Yetimi himâye etmek, onu yedirip içirmek, malını koruyup gözetmek, güzel bir eğitim almasını sağlamak demektir. Yetime sahip çıkanlar, âhirette Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz'e komşu olacaklardır. İslâm büyükleri, evlerinde yetimleri barındırır, onları incitmemeye çalışırlardı. Abdullah ibni Ömer (r.a.) Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz gibi yaşamaya çalışır, onun gibi yetimleri koruyup kollar, himâye ettiği yetimle beraber yemek yerdi. Yemek yendikten sonra gelen yetime kahvaltılık gibi bir şey verildi. İbni Ömer (r.a.) onun gönlünü almak için, yemeği kaçırmış olsa bile, yemekten geri kalmayacak güzel şeyler yediğini söyledi. Olayı anlatan Hasan-ı Basrî (r.a.) hazretleri yetime ikrâm etmek sûretiyle İbni Ömer (r.a.)'in de kârlı, kazançlı çıktığını ifâde etti.

Then Bemidji State Aquatic Biology Professor Dr. Andy Hafs is back to discuss the effects of stocking muskies on a walleye population.
Today Al Fadi and Dr Jay continue to talk about three more major qur'anic manuscripts :4. The BNF/ Petropolitanus manuscripts, and it has three fragments, the largest fragment is 26% of the Quran of today (Hafs). 5. Al Husseini manuscripts in Egypt. It is very large, and has a lot of taping over words. 6. The Sana manuscripts. It is most recent discovery, 1975 in Yemen. In conclusion;the six major manuscripts are: Not from the 7th century, none of them are complete, they don't agree with each other or with the1924 Hafs Quran of today, and all have a lot of variants. Al and Jay use the book that Dr Daniel Brubaker has done on the preservation of the Quran. They point out the different variants in the Qur'anic manuscripts that has been inserted, erased, covered and taped. They conclude that the process of collecting the Quran was not standardized. What is left behind after all the editing is the Hafs version of the Quran today. Al and Jay also talk about the 63 fragment of manuscripts that Muslims say it make up 97% of the Quran of the first century of Islam. Al and Jay say that 63 fragments do not comprise a complete Quran. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
NOAA's new supercomputers, first announced in February 2020 with a contract award to General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), provide a significant upgrade to computing capacity, storage space and interconnect speed of the nation's Weather and Climate Operational Supercomputing System. This episode features bonus material for our Patreon supporters: https://www.patreon.com/posts/inside-noaas-ep-73830012 “Accurate weather and climate predictions are critical to informing public safety, supporting local economies, and addressing the threat of climate change,” said U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo. “Through strategic and sustained investments, the U.S. is reclaiming a global top spot in high-performance computing to provide more accurate and timely climate forecasts to the public.” “More computing power will enable NOAA to provide the public with more detailed weather forecasts further in advance,” said NOAA Administrator, Rick Spinrad, Ph.D. “Today's supercomputer implementation is the culmination of years of hard work by incredible teams across NOAA — everyone should be proud of this accomplishment.” “This is a big day for NOAA and the state of weather forecasting,” said Ken Graham, director of NOAA's National Weather Service. “Researchers are developing new ensemble-based forecast models at record speed, and now we have the computing power needed to implement many of these substantial advancements to improve weather and climate prediction.” Enhanced computing and storage capacity will allow NOAA to deploy higher-resolution models to better capture small-scale features like severe thunderstorms, more realistic model physics to better capture the formation of clouds and precipitation, and a larger number of individual model simulations to better quantify model certainty. The end result is even better forecasts and warnings to support public safety and the national economy. The new supercomputers will enable an upgrade to the U.S. Global Forecast System, the "GFS," this fall and the launch of a new hurricane forecast model called the Hurricane Analysis and Forecast System, the "HAFS," slated to be in operation for the 2023 hurricane season pending tests and evaluation. In addition, the new supercomputers will enable NOAA's Environmental Modeling Center — a division of the National Weather Service's National Centers for Environmental Prediction — to implement other new applications created by model developers across the U.S. under the Unified Forecast Systemoffsite link over the next five years. This week on the Carolina Weather Group, we chat with David Michaud, the director of central processing for the National Weather Service, and Brian Gross, the director of environmental modeling for NWS. Al Fadi and Rob Christian discuss how a chain of people contributed to the Hafs Quran. His full name is Hafs Ibn Suleiman Al Bazzaz. He was known by Islamic sources by copying other people books and that he was a liar. Among the people that influenced his version are Zeid, Ubai Ibn Kaeb, Ibn Masoud and Asim (who was blind and had problem with memory). Ibn Massoud was trusted the most by the prophet Mohammad, but his version was not chosen by Othman, and his version does not match today's Quran . See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode I'm joined by Hiba Malik, a mum of 3 and Pharmacist. Hiba is originally from Syria and has memorized the entire Qur'an, alhamdullilah. She also has an Ijaza in the way of Hafs. The meaning of “Ijazah in Quran” is to have a certificate from an authenticated “Sheikh” who has an Ijazah certificate to recite the Quran by heart with tajweed. The standard worldwide Quran today is the Hafs Cairo 1924 edition. But was this always the case? What is the history of this manuscript? How reliable is it? Does it cohere with what we know from the hadith? What did Hafs contemporaries say about him? Find out this episode. This week's episode is once again about Islam and Christianity, and the vast contrast between the two on the subject of Scriptural inerrancy. Muslims have long claimed that the New Testament is corrupted and that our Christian revelations are therefore unreliable. This is nonsense and I show exactly why. I then move on to examine the claims that Muslims make about the inerrancy and reliability of their own Koranic scriptures, and I show, based on their own sources and historical evidence uncovered in the last few years, that there is nothing "eternal, revealed, complete, and unchanging" about their Koran. I cite a number of different videos and YouTube channels that you can use to educate yourself on these fascinating subjects. I will provide a full list of supporting materials - insofar as I can collect them all, because the list of such things is enormous - down below. This podcast is now live on Google Podcasts, Apple iTunes, Spotify, and now Pandora as well. So be sure to like, share, comment, and subscribe on your platform of choice! Videos and channels to watch: Dr. Daniel Wallace on how much and how badly the scribes corrupted the New Testament; Dr. Frank Turek with his brilliant "God's Blockchain" argument about the many manuscripts of the New Testament; Dr. Jay Smith explains the huge problems with the qira'ats and the rasm manuscripts that show the complete nonsense of the "inerrancy" claim that Muslims constantly make; Pastor Anthony Rogers debates Dr. Shabir Ally - actually he completely DESTROYED him - on, among other things, the supposed "contradictions" in the New Testament about the Christology of Jesus Christ; Dr. David Wood shows how Sh. Dr. Yasir Qadhi flatly contradicts himself on the issue of Koranic preservation; More videos here, here, here, and here from various Christian apologetics channels showing similar contradictions in Islamic texts and beliefs; Unrelated - in case anyone is interested, here is the video that I referenced right at the beginning about a drug called ivermectin which apparently has exceptional prophylactic properties against the Kung Flu; Put simply, the idea that the Koran was perfectly preserved is arrant nonsense. The challenge to Muslims is straightforward: If you claim that your Koran was perfectly preserved from 634 AD onwards, then SHOW IT TO US. Show us ONE Koranic manuscript, dating back to the time of Uthman - we'll give you Uthman, we won't even make you go to the time of Abu Bakr - that consists of 114 surahs, that is exactly the same in every way as your current Hafs text. If you cannot do this - then stop making this absurd claim. And if you find yourself questioning your faith - come on home. We have exactly what you're looking for. You want a revelation that is eternal, sent down, complete, and unchanged. We Christians have Him. His name is Jesus Christ, King of Kings and LORD. So come on back. Come on home. Come to Jesus Christ.
In today´s episode, we welcome two friends from Scandinavia: Jan Hafsås from Norway and Lars Najbjerg from Denmark. Lars has flown so many airplanes underneath the sun and also in very nasty polar weather. He is a former Royal Danish Airforce fighter pilot having flown the mighty “taildragger” Saab F35 Draken and also the F16 Viper. He is a skydiver, a commercial pilot and he won the 2013 Nordic Aerobatic Championship on the experimental aerobatic plane he built himself. Lars discovered bush flying a few years ago and turned his interested towards the Zlin Savage Cub. Probably because you just put it on like the Viper! Jan grew up watching his father building and flying RC planes then later flying with him after he got an old Rans aircraft. Although having spent a lot of free time at the local airfield during his childhood, Jan finally started his pilot’s license 4 years ago and bought his Zlin Savage Classic during the middle of his training. Being an outdoor enthusiast, he very quickly discovered the amazing possibilities of the Norwegian backcountry and has been flying quite a lot since then both on bush wheels and skis. Together they explain us how they came to aviation, what it means to fly their backcountry UL/LSAs in Scandinavia and we even talk about Greenland as the last (European) Frontier for bush flying. If you want to learn more about Lars, checkout his "Bushflyers - Aviation School" page on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/bushflyers Music credits: "Slowly", Amon Tobin - Supermodified, 2000

Jay Smith talks with Al Fadi about the many different Qurans that he and Hatun Tash found. Just between the Warsh and the Hafs copies, there is five thousand differences. This is specially problematic because the Quran and Muslims claim that there is not one letter is changed in the Quran. Some Muslim debaters like Yasir Qaadi and Mohammad Hijab admit that there are holes in the narrative of the Quran, but they refuse to discuss it in public. This podcast is important, and it will address three things related to the signs of the hour. The first deals with the authenticity of a text, while the second deals with the principles needed to understand what scholars called transmission related to the signs of the Hour or the transmission of trials. That will formulate what we will talk in this podcast. Our second podcast will address the order of the signs in brevity, inshallah. General Principle for engaging hadith related to this subject. الاقتصار في التنزيل على نصوص الوحيين, والتأكد من صحتها لفظاً ومعنى “The signs of the hour are restricted to revelation while ensuring their soundness and correct understanding.” a) Their Soundness – Meaning the Hadith is authentic فُسْطَاطُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَوْمَ الْمَلْحَمَةِ الْغُوطَةُ، إِلَى جَانِبِ مَدِينَةٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا: دِمَشْقُ There are four narrations of this hadith Abu Darda – it is not strong because between the companion who narrated is not mentioned. There is a connected narration of it, but it is weak because of a weak narrator, Ibn Abi Maryam The Hadith of Muadh – It has narrators well known for lying, and some of them were even considered abandoned. The hadith of Abu Huraira – It is extremely weak for some reason There is some confusion about this narration, some claiming it is sahih. However, this is a mistake in combining two narrations, one narrative that does not state anything about Ghuta is sahih, while the other narration that does, as noted above is weak. An extension of an authentic hadith is the opinions of the companions on issues that are related to the unseen. This includes the companion’s explanations and thoughts on issues where personal opinion is impossible. Meaning, their opinion rested on revelation. Ibn Hajar wrote, والحق أن ضابط ما يفسره الصحابي إن كان مما لا مجال للاجتهاد فيه, فحكمه الرفع وإلا فلا، كالإخبار عن الأمور الماضية من بدء الخلق وقصص الأنبياء, وعن الأمور الآتية كالملاحم والفتن والبعث وصفة الجنة والنار, والإخبار عن عمل يحصل به ثواب مخصوص أو عقاب مخصوص، فهذه الأشياء لا مجال للاجتهاد فيها فيحكم لها بالرفع “The correct principle in this regard is that explanation of the companions, specifically regarding issues where personal opinion is impossible ….such as events from the past, like the beginning of creation, stories of previous prophets, prophecy related to fitna, resurrection, the description of paradise and hell, and actions that bring about specific rewards or punishments. Those type of things to not permit opinions, so they are considered something taught to them by the Prophets (sa).” If a Hadith is acceptable, then it must be interpreted correctly, not in a sloppy way or in a way that makes its application impossible. The First Principle أن الأصل في تنزيل أحاديث الفتن على الأزمان والأشخاص الرد “Its is not allowed to apply prophetic hadith about the end of times to specific times, places and people.” That does not mean we reject the application of those hadith, nor should we be taxed in their application. What it means is that their application is guided by the scholars. During the Prophet’s time, there were a group of companions who thought it was a man named Ibn al-Sayyad, some even swearing so. During the time of Hajjaj, Asma said, حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ فِى ثَقِيفٍ كَذَّابًا وَمُبِيرًا, فَأَمَّا الْكَذَّابُ فَرَأَيْنَاهُ وَأَمَّا الْمُبِيرُ فَلاَ إِخَالُكَ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ أَمَا إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ “The Prophet (sa) told us that from the tribe of Thaqif there would appear a liar and a ruined person. We have seen the liar. As for the ruined person, you are in no confusion regarding him.” Imam al-Nawwawi noted that scholars agree the liar was al-Mukhtar al-Thaqafi, who claimed Gabriel came to him, while the ruined person was al-Hajjaj bin Yusuf for obvious reasons. A recent example is scholars interpreting the hadith, وَيَتَقَارَبَ الزَّمَانُ “From the signs of the hour, time will move quickly.” The Second Principle الأصل حمل النصِّ على ظاهره “The literal meaning of a text is the default of interpretation, while the figurative meaning is an exception.” Perhaps the greatest misapplication of this is the hadith, “The hour will not start until the sun rises from the West.” Scholars, old and new agree that this is a literal hadith. Recently, however, some people have claimed it is converted from the West. Another example was that the Dajjal was laptop computers. Both interpretations run contrary to the scholarly consensus, and even if someone tried to apply the principle of an explicit or implicit meaning, have no support. The Third Principle أن يكون التنزيل بعيداً عن التكلُّف “The interpretation is not overly complicated or burdensome.” Meaning: it is not a stretch or places an unreasonable burden on people to understand. See the example above. There are some principles related to religious responsibilities: They are not beyond people’s scope, they are not overly difficult to understand, and they don’t cause harm. The Fourth Principle التحقق من طبيعة الواقعة واستكمالها للأوصاف الواردة في النصّ “Verifying that a situation, time place or person completely agrees with they text.” There are three conditions for a text related to the end of times: the text the situation the action that should take place during that period. For texts related to the end of time to be matched with a given period or person, all three must align completely. That implies that first, there must be a match tatabuq, and second, a person cannot be ignorant of the optics – jahil. فإذا لم يكن هناك تطابق بين الواقع الحاصل وبين جميع أوصاف النصّ لم يصح التنزيل حينئذٍ, فلا يصح جهل شيء من أجزاء الواقع “If there is no corroboration between the time and the text in regards to every description in the text, then it is not allowed to apply it to that situation, nor is it allowed to be ignorant of the situation.” An example of this is the sloppy application of the dajjal and the sun rising from the west, and is often applied to the coming of Imam Mehdi. Is there an example of its application? لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ التُّرْكَ قَوْمًا كَأَنَّ وُجُوهَهُمْ الْمَجَانُّ الْمُطْرَقَةُ، يَلْبَسُونَ الشَّعْرَ، وَيَمْشُونَ فِي الشَّعْر “The Last Hour would not come until the Muslims fight with the Turks-a people whose faces would be like hammered shields wearing clothes of hair and walking (with shoes) of hair.” فوجدوا بهذه الصفات كلها في زماننا “All of those (narrations about this) are miracles of the Prophet (sa). The fighting with the Turks has occurred, and they had every description the Prophet (sa) mentioned….thus we find every one of those descriptions of them applicable and present.” Another recent example, “Tall buildings.” Extenuating this is a wonderful narration from Hafs ibn Ghayyath. He noticed that people were stating that the Mehid had come so he asked Sufyan al-Thawri (ra) who responded, Signs of Sloppiness Misplacing the order of something. Not collecting all the relevant hadith about a subject The Sixth Principle It is not allowed to try and rush the a sign of the Hereafter, hoping for another one that comes after it.”
Sh. Haroon Baqai has an Ijazah (certification) in Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim, which he received in Saudi Arabia after studying under Sh. Muhammad Ali Haqqan. In this video, he gives one brief example that really sheds light on why learning Tajweed is one of the most important things a Muslim can do.

Beautiful recitation according to the riwaya of Hamza 'an khalaf by Shaykh Abdur-Rashid Sufi. Commonly we hear recitations according to the Mubarak riwayah of Hafs ['an 'Asim] and at times Warsh but it is rare to hear much of the other beautiful styles which number 7 [and some say 10] If you want to hear more from this Qari or specific Surahs then post a request in the comments section and i wll do my best to oblige.
