Her family ventured to several states during her youth, including: Nevada, Maryland, Arizona, and Colorado. The youngest of three kids, her flare for drama surfaced by age three when she told her parents she wanted to be an actress and refused to appear in public without her pink tutu.Growing up she was fascinated and inspired by classic films and their actors, especially MGM musicals. She was probably the only twelve year old who scouted the TV Guide every Sunday to see which movies from AMC she wanted to record and delight in throughout the week. She even asked for TCM for Christmas because she felt that they had a better choice of Judy Garland, Betty Grable, and Doris Day films. These movies motivated her to get serious about tap dancing and singing, and most of her after school hours were dedicated to lessons and practicing. Developing her talents turned her into a bonafide "Theatre Geek," and she graced her high school stage with pride and excitement!After high-school she left her family in Colorado and moved to Southern California to pursue her life-long love of acting. She attended University of CA, Irvine where she studied acting and musical theatre. It was there that she began doing improv and sketch comedy. She can most recently be seen in the Tom Hiddleston movie "I Saw the Light", the Mel Gibson starring Feature Film "Get The Gringo" and the Morris Chestnut movie "When the Bough Breaks". In addition to her acting career, Denise founded Shriekfest film festival in 2001!Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Denise Gossett came to Los Angeles after moving from Harrisburg, Illinois, to Wassau, Wisconsin, and living for a time in Orlando, Florida, with her parents and younger brother. Although Denise has always expressed an interest in acting, it wasn't until her senior year in high school that her interest truly piqued. After performing in the "Female Odd Couple", she auditioned for a scholarship towards schooling at SCC, which she was awarded. Denise immersed herself in theater, working behind the scenes as well as onstage. After receiving her Associate's Degree, Denise transferred to Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, also having received a scholarship towards her studies.Such dedication to the theater not only led to the furthering of Denise's education, but to other opportunities that would build upon her interest in acting. In 1991, she played the role of Lena Luthor during the fourth season of "The Adventures of Superboy". Upon moving to Los Angeles, a year after receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theater, she immersed herself with Improv (taking classes at the famed Groundlings), acting classes and auditions, which led to working on commercials for Wal-Mart, Boeing, United Health Care, Secret Deodorant and Quicken Loans.     Anne Johnstonbrown interviews R&B recording artist and television actor Terry Dexter:Terry Dexter was born in Detroit, Michigan. Dexter's father also a singer, exposed her to a range of music especially from Detroit born artists during her childhood such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Anita Baker and also other music genres such as country and jazz. She began writing songs and singing in her uncle's church gospel choir at the age of 6. Her aunt who is a gospel singer and musician taught Terry her first gospel songs.From the age of 9 to 14, Dexter was a lead singer in the four-piece band Tristar who played live all over the Detroit area and neighboring cities. She began singing background for other artists at age 11, most notably for Simply Red. At age 13 she signed to Elektra Records, but an album on the label never materialized. Dexter signed to Warner Bros. Records in 1998 in her late teens, and she released her eponymous debut album and two singles from the album, "Better Than Me" and "Strayed Away" in 1999 (although her debut single, "You'll Never Miss Me ('Til I'm Gone)" featured on the "Rush Hour" film soundtrack was released via Warner Bros. subsidiary Reprise Records). She then moved to A&M Records and was featured on the single "Magic" alongside 'The Black Eyes Peas' as part of the "Legally Blond" film soundtrack but left the label without having released an album. Dexter's critically acclaimed second album, Listen, spanned two singles and was released via Penny's Gang Records/Universal in 2008. Her family ventured to several states during her youth, including: Nevada, Maryland, Arizona, and Colorado. The youngest of three kids, her flare for drama surfaced by age three when she told her parents she wanted to be an actress and refused to appear in public without her pink tutu.Growing up she was fascinated and inspired by classic films and their actors, especially MGM musicals. She was probably the only twelve year old who scouted the TV Guide every Sunday to see which movies from AMC she wanted to record and delight in throughout the week. She even asked for TCM for Christmas because she felt that they had a better choice of Judy Garland, Betty Grable, and Doris Day films. These movies motivated her to get serious about tap dancing and singing, and most of her after school hours were dedicated to lessons and practicing. Developing her talents turned her into a bonafide "Theatre Geek," and she graced her high school stage with pride and excitement!After high-school she left her family in Colorado and moved to Southern California to pursue her life-long love of acting. She attended University of CA, Irvine where she studied acting and musical theatre. It was there that she began doing improv and sketch comedy. Within 3 years she graduated and headed up to LA to start a TV/Film career.Once in LA, she began to perform at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB), mainly in their musical shows, specifically Matt Besser's show "The Freak Dance."     Anne Johnstonbrown interviews actor, writer and musician J. Elijah Cho:Jonathan Elijah Cho is the son of Hoon and Miyoung Cho, an artist and a nurse. Both of his parents served in the U.S. Air Force and he and his brother, Joshua, grew up on military bases in Germany and South Korea. Cho graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa and upon graduating he performed theatre in the area with local theatre companies that include Jobsite, Stageworks, Hat Trick, Tampa Rep, American Stage, and Urbanite. Cho has also written a one-man show that he has performed at the Hollywood and New York Fringe Festivals. The show is called Mr. Yunioshi and is written for an Asian actor to play Mickey Rooney developing his character for Breakfast at Tiffany's. Mr. Yunioshi received the award for Best Solo Show at the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Cho also appeared as the character Wonderboy in two seasons of the AMC series, Halt & Catch Fire.
