t sure has been a while now hasn’t it? Well, we made sure to make it count with this new episode as we brought along John Unterseher from Super RPG Friends to round out this week’s table of chuckleheads! In an effort to talk shop on all of the recent announcements that took place while also trying to keep things Water Cooler with what we’ve been playing, we mixed it up a bit for this episode. John joins Andrew and George as they discuss which announcements made the most notable impression on us from Summer Gamefest block of announcements they’ve affectionately dubbed to be “Not E3” and then decide to steamroll right into what’s been in their consoles with 2023’s packed release schedule. Announcements of games to come along with games here and now ranging in Super Mario RPG, XDefiant, Project Octopath Traveler 2 , Persona 3 Reload, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Pikmin 4, Super Mario Wonder, Sonic Superstars, Sand Land, Nicholas Cage, Mortal Kombat 1, AEW Fight Forever, and so much more. So sit down and clean that off-lavender shake off your lip as we bring you Press Pause Radio Episode 147, also—you don’t look so hot, just how much of that shake did you wolf down? They also share their opinions on what games are "must play"s this year.
In this episode, we play Star Wars Battlefront 2 and discuss our first impressions with the beta. Is it the game we've all been waiting for? Devan finally gets his hands on Project Octopath Traveler and loves it. In our gaming news, we talk about the new Super Mario Odyssey trailer, Destiny 2 new updates, Stardew Valley and Master Chief. Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice is also doing a special event today, if you buy their game they'll donate the proceeds to charity for World Mental Health Day. Finally, our discussion this week is on the evolution of video game difficulty. When games first arrived, there was no tutorial or ways to change the difficulty setting. He always wore that cologne. It was meant to make him seem more "cleaned up". Mask his natural smells. Motor oil. Sweat. Blood. Things that he couldn't make leave his skin because of a lifetime of hard work. Worn on his face and in the way he carried himself, one could see a tangible warmth. A feeling of love and happiness, in spite of everything. A willingness to teach and a willingness to learn. Not loud and boisterous - there was no need - yet still endlessly fun. But, for whatever reason, I never forgot the way he smelled. On Sundays - before he commanded the wheel of his church bus - he always wore that cologne. This, I thought. This is the way a *man smells*. My head crept into the bathroom, dressed and ready to accompany him on the church bus. We would be picking up waiting church-goers to deliver them to church, but I would be sitting in the front. The seat of honor. His right hand man. I was his "number one grandson"; something he was always keen to remind me of. But I wanted to smell like a man. And, to me, my PaPaw was a *man*. "PaPaw?", I asked, as I watched him get ready for church. "Would it be okay if I wore your cologne today?". "Alright", he replied, "but not too much, or the women won't leave you alone". I eagerly took the bottle from him and applied a drop or two to my bald, adolescent chest. "Why don't I have any hair on my chest yet, PaPaw?", I asked, with an air of disappointment in my voice. He stopped what he was doing and unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his own chest. As bare as mine. "See?", he responded with pride, "It's because hair don't grow on pure steel." Discussed: Monster Hunter World. Buying video games in 2017. Project Octopath Traveler. Satoru Iwata tribute found within the Nintendo Switch. Steven Universe. Destiny update. Lazy devs. What we've been up to - 4:11 Todd's topic, "When Good Developers Lose Their Steam" - 26:50 Seth's topic, "The Big Three's Fall Report Card" - 50:02 In loving memory of Skate 4 (2017-2017)
02:51:45 - Afsluiting Muziek: - Fire Emblem Fates (Mobile) intro - Double Dragon Neon (PS3) - Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii) - Gyakuten Kenji 2 (DS) - Lord of King (NES) outtro
On today's show, one episode away from #400, Marc talks about their most recent adventures at the dear ol' dentist's office, their highs and lows dealing with Xbox Support, and what it's like to wake up to the wonderful feeling of a bulletin board falling right onto their big Sicilian nose. After all that nonsense, they talk about a handful of games, including Distrust and Project Octopath Traveler. Anyway, something-something clever and funny, cheers and enjoy the anime-zing(ly anime-free) show. Anyway, that's it and that's all folks, and, if you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something-something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, podcast(s), and all the ridiculous jazz we make over here at Pixelated Sausage. And don't forget, you can also support the site by shopping at Amazon if that's your jam--you can probably buy jam on Amazon too.

After this month, we've fully banned "Rock You Like a Hurricane".The Great One episode of Nintendo Free Radio has quite a bit packed into two and a half hours or so. In New Business, Stephen kept pecking away at the Monster Hunter Stories demo - did we mention this thing is LONG? - but we're not sure if he took the plunge. Maybe the Zelda DLC will help. Donald grabbed the demo for Project Octopath Traveler as well as the second good Metroid game of this decade (or ever) in Metroid: Samus Returns. Austen has some brief mentions including blatant Square selling out (because none of their games are) before dealing with the double main event of Life is Strange: Before the Storm episode 1 and the dreaded Knack 2. Thanks to the Nine Network for adding those bits to Donald's hard drive.Whatcha Watchin' covers the Netflix Voltron season 3, with a pitstop at the end of modern Ninja Turtles, before Austen castigates bad casting in Batman v Harley Quinn and violates about twenty copyrights when he visits Big O. Billion dollar debts not included, but probable in that universe. The Feature sort of got rolled into the Mushrooms as we encourage you to donate to a quality organization to help Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, which are still completely without power as of press time and has a member of the NWR fora living in the former. Also covered: The passing of The Brain, debates over the All-22 film, and Nintendo being Doomed this Christmas. Some big changes are coming to the podcast after the next episode, so keep it locked to our Twitter feed for updates as well as to send suggestions for things to discuss on said episode.

Happy New Year faithful listeners! Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) are back for more! 2017 has already brought a lot of change and more is yet to come. One of the most notable changes is the change in the console cycle for Nintendo, with the Nintendo Switch. We're here to talk about it, and there is a LOT to discuss. This episode features long-time guests of the show, Grant (GameDadGrant) and Paleo_Steno for a two-hour evaluation of the Nintendo Switch and it's games. In the first segment the gang discusses the overall presentation, the Joy-Con controllers, the Online Services shown so far, and the rather ingenious Parental Controls App Nintendo is developing. In the second and third segments of the show, it's all about the games. The games featured on this episode include but are not limited to… ARMS, ULTRA Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, BlazBlue for Switch, Splatoon 2, Super Bomberman R, Fire Emblem Warriors, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Project Octopath Traveler, and even more than that… you know… like Super Mario Odyssey and some The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! Negative World's site owner and operator, Zero provides the intro and outro. Break music is pulled from Puyo Puyo Tetris and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Full list of episodes
