Jimbo's got the whole gang together as Julien Laurens, James Horncastle, Seb Stafford-Bloor and Pol Ballús indulge in some European chit-chat as the season reaches its climax. The Serie A chaos continued with the title set to be decided on Friday night… unless a play-off is required! That's after Inter were held 2-2 by Lazio while Napoli were goalless at Parma, but it's Antonio Conte's side who still sit a point clear at the top of the table. The Eredivisie set a high bar for mayhem as PSV retained their title on the final day - despite trailing Ajax by 9 points with just 5 games to go! Michiel Jongsma's back to tell us how - and why Ajax's next boss should probably be bald… Over in Ligue 1, Alexandre Lacazette signed off in style with goals 200 and 201 for his hometown club Lyon - while there was extraordinary late drama in Strasbourg as Abdoulaye Touré's 99th minute panenka kept Le Havre in the top flight. Barcelona were still on the beers as they were beaten 3-2 by Villarreal, but it didn't matter after more Lamine Yamal magic had sealed the La Liga title against Espanyol in midweek. Meanwhile, the rebuild's already started at Real Madrid with Dean Huijsen signed and the announcement of new manager Xavi Alonso seemingly imminent… And in the Bundesliga, Dortmund completed their remarkable turnaround under Niko Kovac to seal a Champions League spot - while champions Bayern Munich finished the season 13 points clear of Leverkusen as Harry Kane made it back-to-back Golden Boots. Plus - what's the mood across Europe as the Premier League's 16th and 17th-placed banter clubs do battle in Bilbao in Wednesday night's Europa League final? Produced by Lucy Oliva.RUNNING ORDER: • PART 1: Moments of the weekend & Europa League final preview (00.45) • PART 2: Serie A review - All to play for under the Friday Night Lights (11.25)• PART 3: Portugal, Turkey, Ajax's epic collapse - and bald men (24.35)• PART 4: Ligue 1 review - Touré's panenka, Nice's UCL spot & Jonathan David's future (38.40)• PART 5: La Liga review - Barca on the beach as relegation jeopardy remains (48.35)• PART 6: Bundesliga review - Dortmund surge to 4th as Kane picks up latest accolade (55.15) Hosted on Acast. Morning Espresso, 5.20: Europa League Final feels like a relegation playoff

Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso, presented by our friends at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. Wednesday's Europa League Final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur is possibly the most important game in the financial history of Manchester United. It's obviously important in that sense for Spurs as well, it will give them a place at the Champions League table next season, but it's more of a necessity for United. For a club that had the 4th highest amount of revenue in the world last season but still lost £113m, they simply cannot afford to lose out on the over £100m that qualifying for the Champions League guarantees. Because of that and the placement of the two teams in the Premier League table, this match has the feel of a relegation playoff more than a European final. I think it will have that feeling of desperation as well. Kickoff is tomorrow at 3pm, watch on Paramount+. Atlanta United 2 drew 2-2 last night at Crown Legacy after goals from Cayman Togashi and Javier Armas. The 2's are on a 4-match unbeaten run and host Orlando on Friday night at Fifth Third Stadium in Kennesaw. In the NWSL, the Chicago Stars have moved a September match to Northwestern's lakefront Martin Stadium. According to Jeff Kassouf of The Equalizer and ESPN, the Stars' lease is up at SeatGeek Stadium at the end of the year and Northwestern could be in play as a new home for the club. Wednesday night will see the Concacaf W Champions Cup semifinals take place as  Club América host Gotham FC, while Tigres take on Portland Thorns at 10:30 p.m. later that night. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the newly formed FIFA Women's Club World Cup. Speaking of Club World Cup, Flamengo is planning to add Arsenal's Jorginho to their squad for the tournament according to Fabrizio Romano. Inter are still negotiating with Marseille for Luiz Henrique and Real Madrid are closing in on Benfica LB Alvaro Carrera in a 40-50 million Euro deal. It was also announced yesterday that Manchester City will prepare for the tournament at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL. Expect more announcements like that around the country as teams get ready for the tournament. The first match in Atlanta is set for June 16 as Chelsea will face the winner of the play-in match between Club América & LAFC. New ticket options are available at FIFA.com/tickets. I'll be live on 92.9 The Game tonight with Atlanta Soccer Tonight at 10pm, you can also listen on the Audacy app or on-demand at the Off The Woodwork podcast.

Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso, presented by our friends at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. Another disappointing night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for Atlanta United, losing 1-0 to Philadelphia who go to the top spot in the Eastern Conference with the win. Personally, there were things I really liked about the shape change to play two central midfielders ahead of one holding midfielder and essentially two up top, although Miguel Almirón was essentially in a free role. However, it wasn't good enough on the night, the Union earned a deserved (although unlucky) penalty and converted to win 1-0. It doesn't get any easier for Atlanta United next weekend as they host the team level on points with Philadelphia in FC Cincinnati on Sunday night. Hot take alert, I'm a fan of the LA Galaxy announcing Greg Vanney's extension on Friday even though the team is still winless in regular season play in 2025. The negotiations started after Vanney won MLS Cup last December and were finalized recently. With the amount of injuries the Galaxy have tried to navigate this season, including to their 4 top attackers, a struggle was inevitable. A knee-jerk reaction to move on from Vanney after he rebuilt the club into a successful winning team would be the wrong move in my opinion. Crystal Palace earned their first major trophy by winning the FA Cup 1-0 over Manchester City. That will qualify them for the Europa League next year, their first time in a major European competition. Chelsea's women completed the domestic treble with their FA Cup win over Manchester United that saw USWNT members Catarina Macario score a goal and Naomi Girma marshal the backline to a clean sheet.Napoli and Inter both drew in Serie A yesterday, taking the title down to the wire. Their matches will be played on Friday with Napoli holding a one point advantage in the table. If they finish the night tied at the top of the standings, there will be a one-game playoff for the league title. PSV and Sporting won the Dutch and Portuguese top flight titles over the weekend respectively. Aberdeen defender Jack Mackenzie was hit by a plastic seat thrown by his own fans, intended for Dundee United fans celebrating on the field after their win that qualified them for Europe at the Dons' expense. He was bloodied and required treatment, the SPFL called the act "moronic". The great-great grandson of Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford has become the majority shareholder of Scottish 2nd division side Livingston. Calvin Ford saw his new team win in their promotion semifinal. They will play either Dundee FC or Ross County for an opportunity to earn promotion to the Scottish Premiership. On the Club World Cup front, reports out of Spain indicate that an unnamed Brazilian club has made a "tempting" offer to Cristiano Ronaldo to join them for the tournament. Al Nassr is not in the event and Ronaldo is out of contract on June 30. Al Nassr also missed out on trophies this season and won't be in the Asian Champions League Elite tournament next season. Real Madrid paid the release clause for Bournemouth's CB Dean Huijsen. They have secured their new manager Xabi Alonso for the tournament, are working to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold for the event as well, and reports indicate they could execute the buyback clause on Como's Nico Paz in time for the tournament as well. They are still chasing a left back too. New ticket options are available at FIFA.com/tickets along with hospitality opportunities at FIFA.com/hospitality.More Espresso coming tomorrow on the SDH Network.

Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso, presented by our friends at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. It's rivalry weekend in MLS, and it's kind of fitting that Atlanta hosts Philadelphia on Saturday night. Not sure if the league truly sees it as a rivalry, but it's felt that way on the field over the past few years. Philly won 3-0 earlier this season and Atlanta will be trying to build on their draw in Austin from Wednesday night. Philly came back to win 3-2 on a late goal from Tai Baribo against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday. Georgia HS state champions have been crowned the and the season will come to a close tonight in Duluth and in Macon. It's the 2A state championships in Macon, our friend Matteen Rad will be on the call for the NFHS Network there as Drew Charter's boys face Shaw while Pike County's girls play Savannah Arts. Madison Crews and I will be in Duluth for 5A as Roswell's girls try to finish the season unbeaten as they play Northgate while Sprayberry's boys try to knock off top ranked River Ridge. Join us on the NFHS Network starting at 5pm.Barcelona won their 28th La Liga title against their rivals Espanyol as Lamine Yamal scored another brilliant goal. It's a treble year for the Blaugrana as they added to their previously won SuperCopa and Copa del Rey. However, it wouldn't be Barcelona if there were stories about financial silliness. They're trying to get the VIP ticket sale completed that somehow allowed them to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor done in order to help their accounts and salary limit for next season. Watch the video as I try to make sense of it all (probably failing to do so). Be on the lookout on our social media accounts (@SoccerDownHere) for clips from Jude Bellingham today as he spoke to FIFA this week about Real Madrid's ambitions for the upcoming Club World Cup. It's a big opportunity for them to start the Xabi Alonso era off right. They're also trying to add CB Dean Huijsen and LB Alvaro Fernandez ahead of the tournament. Inter is trying to add Marseille winger Luis Henrique as well as 3-4 other players for the tournament. They're also trying to win Serie A and the Champions League before that. They host 5th place Lazio this weekend while league leaders Napoli travel to relegation threatened Parma. A win for Napoli combined with a loss for Inter would send the trophy south to Naples. Anything else sees it come down to the final weekend. More in the video and podcast, Morning Espresso will be back on Monday morning to recap the weekend.Have a great weekend y'all!

That's what we talk about in this episode.Host: Michael BaileyWith: Michael Cox, Mark Carey and Liam Tharme.Producer: Steve Hankey. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle and Bournemouth fan Neil Grover to discuss an important week ahead for both clubs ahead of their Gameweek 37 meeting next Tuesday at The Etihad. For City there's the small matter of Saturday's FA Cup Final to contend with first, and by the time they face The Cherries they could be down to sixth as they bod to finish in the top 5. Bournemouth themselves need City to win the Cup and will then be hoping for slip ups from Brentford and Brighton as they aim for a first ever qualification for European football. What should FPL managers who own the likes of Josko Gvardiol, Kevin De Bruyne and Omar Marmoush do considering City don't play untol after the Cup Final? Should they be binned? And can those who gambled on a returning Erling Haaland have the confidence to captain him? And Bournemouth assets are likely to prove very popular too on final day when they host relegated Leicester. Discussion includes chat on Evanilson, Justin Kluivert, Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen, who seems bounds for Real Madrid following an outstanding season. Plus, should we expect City to go big in the market in the Summer and does the Club World Cup matter?
