We continue with Part 2 of our miniseries sharing previously LIVE LinkedIn events that showcase trusted advisors and their top lessons for the military transition. On this episode we feature Marina Rabinek, who is the Founder and President of the Military Women's Collective while serving as the West Coast Regional Director for Four Block. The Military Women's Collective not only provides resources for homeless and food-insecure veterans, but it also gives mentorship opportunities to women transitioning out of the military. Kasie Valenti is an Army veteran and military spouse. Transitioning in 2016 and pivoting to marketing and communications, Kasie recently founded Sigma Forces, a career advancement organization. This organization offers education and certifications for the military community to upskill and become more employable.Lesson 1: Find Your Focus. Figuring out what you would like to do in your next career will dictate how you approach your transition and what resources you choose to utilize. You must know where you are going in order to find your way there. There are many resources available to help you find your purpose.Lesson 2: You Don't Have to Go through the Transition Process Alone. While there are times in the military that you are expected to be resourceful and figure something out on your own, that mindset will not serve you well during your transition. Utilize resources and find mentors to help you reach your goals. Lesson 3: Build Your Network before You Need It. Create a diverse network that includes people outside of the military community. Engage with your network even after you land your first position and give back to others. While a quality network is more important than quantity, it is possible to have both. It's never too late or too early to build your network, starting with LinkedIn. Lesson 4: Strengthen Your Mindset. Normalize that the transition is challenging. You will experience a roller coaster of emotions. As Ken Davenport states in The Stoic Transition, “You own the reaction and consequences of your choices.” You can choose how you approach transition.  Will you be fearful of the unknown or excited about the possibility of future opportunities?Lesson 5: Stay Connected to the Military Community in Some Way. Leaving the military can bring about feelings of loneliness and isolation. There are plenty of organizations that will help you feel that camaraderie again while serving others. Going into 2023, with a changing business landscape, buyers are looking for something DIFFERENT. In today's episode of The Sales Evangelist, Donald Kelly goes into what buyers are now looking for, and how you can meet their needs. What are buyers looking for in the upcoming year? According to the State of Sales, from Salesforce, 57% of buyers prefer engaging with companies and sellers through digital means. Along with preferring digital communication, buyers have also said that they prefer YOU to go where THEY are. You have to appear wherever your buyers are, whether that's on social media or platforms like YouTube. How to take advantage of this knowledge and meet buyers' wants: Since buyers are actively WANTING to talk to your company through digital means, provide SOME WAY for them to actually talk to you digitally. Platforms like LinkedIn are perfect for this. But beyond LinkedIn, you can also use social media platforms to communicate and market to buyers. UTILIZE A DSR. A DSR, or digital salesroom, is a centralized location where buyers and sellers can meet. Instead of having to browse countless sites to try and find information, the buyer can access all the information they need STRAIGHT from the DSR. It also allows all of your sellers to consolidate in one location, instead of having to communicate through other, less efficient ways. A DSR not only streamlines the entire sales process but also PROVIDES what digital platform buyers are looking for! The MAIN thing that buyers want, however, is for you to be a TRUSTED ADVISOR instead of a salesperson. A whopping 87% of buyers have claimed they prefer advisors over sellers. Why is this? Buyers come to sellers to solve a problem. Instead of being marketed to some product or service, buyers want SOLUTIONS. Buyers want someone who they can TRUST to give them a valuable and efficient solution to whatever problem they're facing. Another thing to take advantage of in 2023 is Intent-based data. What is intent-based data? It's data that takes what buyers are looking for into consideration. Things like what they search for online, and their interest in your product or service, among others. Enjoy Cameron In 1982 I walked into a music store in Kalispell Montana and heard his hit Someday Some Way...  I was hooked.  From that day forward, the cassette I purchased before going to Bible camp, was in every car I ever owned until 2015.  I mailed the cassette to my friend who had gotten out of drug treatment.  We listened to that cassette so many times in my car during high school.  The cassette arrived in his mailbox, SMASHED...   I was crushed. It was my indeed pleasure to interview, Marshall Crenshaw.  My hero.   Marshall Howard Crenshaw (born November 11, 1953) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and guitarist best known for hit songs such as "Someday, Someway," a US Top 40 hit in 1982, "Cynical Girl," and "Whenever You're on My Mind." He is also the co-author of one of the biggest radio hits of the ‘90s, the Gin Blossoms, "Til I Hear It From You." His music has roots in classic soul music and Buddy Holly, to whom Crenshaw was often compared in the early days of his career, and whom he portrayed in the 1987 film La Bamba. Born in Michigan, Crenshaw performed in the musical Beatlemania before releasing his self-titled album in 1982. Crenshaw could not replicate the commercial success of Marshall Crenshaw and follow-up Field Day (1983) with later albums. Crenshaw has also contributed songs to other artists, writing singles for Kirsty MacColl and the Gin Blossoms. A quote from Trouser Press summed up Marshall Crenshaw's early career: "Although he was seen as a latter-day Buddy Holly at the outset, he soon proved too talented and original to be anyone but himself."[   Marshall Crenshaw on Marshall Crenshaw — “One of the fundamental things about the project was that I set out to not make an album,” Marshall Crenshaw notes. “So I did this project, and now at the end of it, there's this album, for the album fans!….” The celebrated singer-songwriter-guitarist-producer is discussing #392: The EP Collection, his new CD on the Red River Entertainment label. The 14-track set collects a dozen standout tracks drawn from the innovative series of six 10” vinyl EPs that Crenshaw released between 2013 and 2015, plus a pair of never-before-heard rarities chosen especially for this collection. The EP series was the product of Crenshaw's decision to break away from the standard album/tour cycle by recording and releasing a steady stream of new music over an extended period. The endeavor proved wildly popular with his fans, and brought in lots of “I really did love the EP project, and I'm kind of sad that it's over,” Crenshaw comments. “I was looking for a different way of working that would keep me motivated; it was cool, because it had a sense of urgency; there was always something that had just come out and always something that was on the way. It was an inspiring way to work.” #392: The EP Collection's twelve studio recordings encompass six new Crenshaw originals and six cover songs. The former group includes the bittersweet and beautiful “Grab the Next Train,” the surging and howling “Move Now,” and the hypnotic and atmospheric “Driving and Dreaming”, while the cover numbers include a reverent remake of the Burt Bacharach/Hal David/Carpenters chestnut “Close to You,” James McMurtry's “Right Here Now,” longtime Crenshaw favorite Bobby Fuller's classic “Never to Be Forgotten” and vintage numbers by the Easybeats, the Move and the Lovin' Spoonful. Rounding out #392: The EP Collection are two previously unreleased tracks: a powerful live version of the Everly Brothers classic “Man with Money,” recorded with Crenshaw's frequent touring partners the Bottle Rockets, during the week after Phil Everly's passing, and the infectious “Front Page News,” a '90s recording of a previously-unheard original that Crenshaw wrote with noted country tunesmith Leroy Preston (“I can't remember when I did it, or why, but I like it!”, says Crenshaw). “I was fortunate to have lots of brilliant people helping me on these tracks, and they really lifted the proceedings,” Crenshaw reports. “I'm proud about the range of super-excellent musicians who came on board for these sessions.” #392: The EP Collection includes contributions from avant-jazz trumpet icon Stephen Bernstein, noted jazz vibraphonist Bryan Carrott, versatile Nashville bassist Byron House, Daniel Littleton of the band Ida, renowned composer/keyboardists Rob Morsberger and Jamie Saft, along with longstanding Crenshaw cohorts like guitarists Glen Burtnick and Andy York, bassist Graham Maby, Brian Wilson/Beach Boys sideman Jeffrey Foskett, and acclaimed indie troubadour Dan Bern, who co-wrote four songs with Crenshaw. Meanwhile, on several tracks, Crenshaw worked on his own in his home studio, overdubbing all or most of the instruments and vocal harmonies himself. Crenshaw states, “I've been into the Narcissist, solitary-genius thing for a long time. For instance, “‘Cynical Girl,' on my first album, is just me, and ‘Someday Someway' is my brother on drums and me on everything else. So working alone sometimes is standard procedure for Over the course of a recording career that's spanned three decades, 13 albums and hundreds of songs, the Michigan-bred artist's musical output has maintained a consistently high level of artistry, craftsmanship and passion, endearing him to a broad and loyal fan After getting an early break playing John Lennon in a touring company of the Broadway musical Beatlemania, Crenshaw began his recording career with the now-legendary indie single “Something's Gonna Happen.” His growing notoriety in his adopted hometown of New York City helped to win Crenshaw a deal with Warner Bros. Records, which released his self-titled 1982 debut album. That collection established Crenshaw as one of the era's preeminent rock ' n' rollers, and that was confirmed by such subsequent albums as Field Day, Downtown, Mary Jean & 9 Others, Good Evening, Life's Too Short, Miracle of Science, #447, What's in the Bag? and Jaggedland. Along the way, Crenshaw's compositions have been covered by a broad array of performers, including Bette Midler, Kelly Willis, Robert Gordon, Ronnie Spector, Marti Jones and the Gin Blossoms, with whom Crenshaw co-wrote the Top 10 single “Til I Hear It From You.” He's also provided music for several film soundtracks, appeared in the films La Bamba (in which he portrayed Buddy Holly) and Peggy Sue Got Married, and was nominated for Grammy and a Golden Globe awards for writing the title track for the film comedy Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Since 2011, Crenshaw has hosted his own radio show, The Bottomless Pit, on New York's WFUV. He's currently working on Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger's much-anticipated HBO series Vinyl, doing “some session work, a little bit of songwriting..” His eclectic resume aside, songwriting and record-making remain at the center of Marshall Crenshaw's creative life, and #392: The EP Collection confirms that his musical flame continues to burn as brightly as ever. “I still love recorded music and believe in it as an art form, whether it's a single or album, or vinyl or CD,” Crenshaw asserts, adding, “I think I'll probably stick with it.”

Marshall Crenshaw's 40 plus year career has included ten studio albums, a US top 40 hit in 1982 with “Someday, Someway,” some collaborations, and some movie appearances. Crenshaw recently regained the rights to several albums he released originally on the Razor & Tie label. We talked to him in 2020 for the first in that series, Miracle of Science. Now comes the reissue of #447. The eleven song album is arguably one of his most adventurous, and is augmented by two newly recorded tracks issued on his own Shiny Tone label.He talks about his struggles with major labels and how being on a smaller one gave him the freedom to do the things he really wanted to do. He also gives us a preview of Deluxe Editions of his first two albums, coming later in the fall.

The A side is one of the best hits of the neo-Rockabilly wave that swept the U.S. and England in the early 1980's. With his note-perfect first album and great songwriting (produced by Richard Gottehrer, who served up so much great rock'n'roll froth in the 1960's with such acts as the Angels and McCoys), Crenshaw seemed like a new Buddy Holly. The non-LP B side, which Bette Midler later took up the charts, is credited to 'Marshall Crenshaw and the Handsome, Ruthless and Stupid Band.'

what how here's my impression of linkedin's newsfeed it's like it's like a recruiter going like hey i got a $55,000 job of law and then the next person i want to do a sketch that were on a bar basically the next one it's there's a story about failure and redemption but it's a real humble rag marketing thing since i two years ago i lost everything in picture this my eye was the breadwinner in my house my my wife and kids my parents were living with us i it was all on me and then two years later i figured it out and i want to show you how to do it to him like rights that's next thing after that some might nonsense business coach and then after that another quote and then another failure story and that's like basically the whole feed i don't know if it's the same for you but i guess it depends on your network.you see a lot of you see especially be the new thing i just i think is again a way to game the algorithm but it's like want to text with a hook because it cuts off the rest the taxes like click on the hook and then that makes you appear more people search yeah i try to do that it's like i try to asterix stuff if i need like put more detail into it but i want as people last night i try to figure how to do it and is like zero people commented on it but i wanted to see how i really have like a stick up my ass about people getting ripped off with digital services and it really is a really funky bothers me that this industry it is very snake oil-ish i would say hey were going to get you this amana trafficker this amount of revenue for this amount of leads and there's a subject gap education gap of the staff which we try to go way overboard educating clients but man i'm about to go like wwe wrestler like just calling out the shed does that mean there's a ton of its i think it's carryover from my way back down on you guys a bit individual but like dear member have these like add rotators so gunmen advertisers would pay for impressions maddie's whole like click or not click public impression for and is the same thing now i've heard of some people using lean even wilmington pay to play where they have like a group of people they all growing up however much and then everybody, thereby suppose but like what's the point what's the endgame that's gonna get you mean i think if you have a book something that is some kind of product you just i haven't spoken i was thing about the other nights can really test like how many people we talk to that almost everybody that comes to us has had a bad experience already and like oh yeah this sco company they promised me a lot of traffic i got nothing and i paid him 50 grand a year and it's a like a local business like a lot of money for that's a lot of money but generally company under just you messing them up like and in the shockingly bad as the clock the client that just blindly sign with these people we never get the first time around give us a blind sign when i know well send the sins of the grant here will yeah we we can do so much for directors of local business but it's one of the things were i figured centering the digital marketing world and guess you had a similar thing going on so basically what i have going on is just type them in like attitude towards a lot of that story is like a decent guy the few times we talked nebulous about you but i think the so under
