Writer, Director, Producer, and Screenwriter launches his new novel The Silent Planet The Sistas sit down with Subrina's mentor, New York Film Academy screenwriting instructor Paul J. Salamoff, to talk about his new sci-fi novel The Silent Planet, described as Solaris meets Jurassic Park. This interview is a gift as Paul drops all sorts of wisdom from writing with a theme, to how to take a note, to the inspiration of collaboration. After over 30 years in Hollywood, Paul has a story about everybody and everything. Hear how two lines of dialogue can make a film, or that time he interviewed Steven Spielberg. Paul doesn't believe in the 'tortured writer', but Subrina believes there was a slightly tortured Sista in NYFA's Screenwriting course that year. Buy The Silent Planet by Paul J. For them, this movement is about more than representation, as Greg Collier noted, “Representation is important. Being seen is important. But if there is a thing, funding is the most important thing. If we had half the opportunities other chefs had you would see different types of restaurants.” In this episode, part of Add Passion & Stir's ongoing Rebuilding series, we connect with two inspiring leaders in hospitality who are creating pathways to economic empowerment for Black culinarians.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The test became famous because, despite the extremely low bar for female representation in film, a surprisingly large number of movies and TV shows fail. The Sy-Fy Sistas have taken a similar look at the Star Trek movie universe, but with respect to characters of color. The Sy-Fy Sistas Inclusion Checklist consists of six key points that a Star Trek film must have to pass the test: At least two named characters of color Dialog of those characters must be more than merey supportive of the white characters Characters of color must have a skill that contributes to the survival of the group Characters of color don’t have a criminal record Characters of color must have a positive relationship with another character Characters of color are not magical stock characters The first run of this podcast episode is exclusively here on The Shuttle Pod, and will be published on the SyFy Sistas podcast on TrekGeeks.com later this week.

We come to the end of the Falcon's story. And, while the Sistas are okay with "a Black man carrying the Stars and Stripes" they are split on the new costume. Yvette and Tamia won't give Bucky a break about that phone call, and everybody is so done, done, done with Karli, that J.D. must explain Marvel's lack of villain back stories. And despite the plunging helicopters, falling armored cars, and well, fighting, fighting, and more fighting, Subrina finds her first Marvel Easter Egg. Yes, we can say that J.D. has completed her mission – the SyFy Sistas are now good with the MCU. Bring on the Multiverse! Yvette gets him, Subrina thinks he's alright, Tamia thinks he's layered, but J.D. nails his problem to the wall with millennial accuracy. While Tamia tackles Zemo and iconography, and Yvette explains Walker and Lemar, we learn what J.D. thinks about all three of them. Subrina goes deep into "Trouble Man", while Fran drops love for...swing music. Evil Madripoor, wicked sartorial choices, and a killer cameo round out FAWS Episode 3.
