Episode #318 - "Jewelry Business Survival Guide for Instagram's AI Shift" Sign up for a FREE, 1-Month Trial of JoyDeck: https://www.myjoydeck.com/trial Check out the new JoyDeck YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@MyJoyDeck Welcome to Episode #318, the first episode of 2025! In this introduction to the new year, I want to discuss a pressing topic—how social media, especially Instagram, will play a role in jewelry marketing this year. In case you haven't heard, Meta recently announced that it will fill Facebook and Instagram with AI-generated bots. According to Connor Hayes, Meta's VP of product for gen AI, "We expect these AIs to actually, over time, exist on our platforms, kind of in the same way that accounts do. They'll have bios and profile pictures and be able to generate and share content powered by AI on the platform." Meta believes this will offer new ways for users to engage and interact on both platforms. However, I think it's already frustrating many people who feel that Meta is saturated with AI content and bots. In a May 2024 article, tech writer Jason Koebler says, "Facebook is the zombie internet, where a mix of bots, humans, and accounts that were once humans but aren't anymore interact to form a disastrous website where there is little social connection at all." I promise this isn't a doom-and-gloom episode. I'm not thrilled by the news either, and as a marketer, it's frustrating. At the same time, it motivates me to figure out how to use social media marketing effectively while we still can, and also to find ways to reduce our reliance on it. In this episode, I'll be talking about what I see coming for Instagram in 2025, and how you can leverage those changes without making yourself crazy. Make sure to stay tuned for The Gold Mine, where I'll reveal my social media resolutions for 2025 and explain the reasoning behind each one. A widespread tech outage caused by a faulty software update from CrowdStrike is severely disrupting small businesses worldwide. Business owners across various sectors, including consumer research, virtual mental health, and the restaurant industry, are struggling with operational and financial issues, such as paying employees, signing contracts, and making calls. The incident highlights the vulnerabilities of a digitized world heavily reliant on key computing service providers. While major clients of Microsoft and CrowdStrike receive IT support, small businesses continue to face significant challenges. Founders like Tsvetta Kaleynska of RILA Global Consulting are particularly affected due to dependencies on services like Docusign. The initial fix from CrowdStrike might take days to fully resolve the issue, leading to a "code red" situation for small businesses with limited IT resources. The outage has varied impacts, ranging from human resources and routing systems to cash registers. Some businesses have managed to mitigate issues with backup systems, but others face ongoing operational delays and financial management disruptions.Learn more on this news visit us at: https://greyjournal.net/news/ Hosted on Acast. The Second Curve: Bracing for Changes in Technology, Consumers, and Markets The podcast sees futurist and author, Ian Morrison, discuss the concept of his book, 'The Second Curve'. This concept delineates how businesses must straddle their existing 'first curve' while preparing for a 'second curve' defined by new technologies, market shifts, and emerging consumer behaviors. Morrison cites examples, like Microsoft and Apple, of successful navigation from the first to second curve and emphasizes the importance of not abandoning the profit potential of the existing business too soon. Concerning organisations, Morrison discusses a shift from mechanistic to more fluid 'organic' forms, referencing shifts to more connected, network-driven models and an importance of corporate culture. He also explains the strategy of 'virtual integration' employed by companies like Apple, contrasting it to traditional integration approaches. Morrison finishes by highlighting the enduring relevance of adaptable, entrepreneurial culture in the success of these transformations. Here's the proof: a whopping 69% of businesses connected with their current vendors through a cold call. Plus, companies embracing cold calling are seeing a whopping 42% boost in growth. About Gary Garth: Gary Garth is a serial entrepreneur, Founder & CEO of 360° Solution for Behavioral Health Center elev8.io, Author of 'The Zero to 100 Million Sales Blueprint 'book, and 'The Goals, Grit & Greatness' Planner. He also leverages his resources via Great Dane Ventures as an angel investor, helping high-potential startups to go to market, scale, and become profitable via 360 degrees sales and marketing support, incubator programs, advisory services and proprietary technology engineered to empower entrepreneurs. He has been featured in Inc., Forbes, Success, and many other prominent publications. A serial entrepreneur since 2002, Gary has started and successfully exited six companies, including large outbound sales call centers, radio advertising networks, and an award-winning, eight-figure digital marketing agency. Born in Denmark, Gary now lives and works in Medellín, Colombia. Check out the latest episode of our Conversational Selling podcast to learn more about Gary.In this episode, Nancy and Gary discuss the following:The reasons why Gary pursues the behavioral industry.Gary's view on why less than 10% of addicted get treatment. The challenges Gary sees right now in the behavioral health marketing industry. The best advice Gary gives to the centers is to reach the people who need the therapy.Key factors that inspired Gary to write 'The Zero to 100 Million Sales Blueprint '.How Gary addresses the challenge that fewer than 10% achieve revenue beyond a million in his book. The top 25 sales metrics that everybody should monitor and improve.Key Takeaways: People must make the decision that they want to recover. The main challenge is combining the right strategies and having the right team to execute. If you don't have the financial means, maybe give them some equity in the company to ensure sales get off the ground. An obvious metric is to understand your lifetime value. When you start measuring those metrics, you'll identify where you can optimize your marketing and sales process. "Believe it or not, Nancy, there are 20+ million in America alone that are seeking treatment or need treatment, but there are only a couple of million that receive treatment every year. So less than 10%. So that, for me, is wrong. That statistic. The opiate crisis is killing more people than any other means in the US: homicide, traffic incidents, everything combined doesn't even surpass opiate. So, I said, this is a way to help facilities that may not be at full capacity because they're not using the right marketing or sales strategies. If I can apply my skillset there, I can help people out of suffering and help that business grow. So that's why I focus on behavioral health." – GARY." But I never really came across a book where it's like "Here's a blueprint." If you're starting a company, if you're running a sales team, if you want to scale, if you want to go from zero to a hundred million, here's a step-by-step process that you can follow. So that's why I ended up plus for the pages because I said, "I need to include everything needed." I had to document what was working. And I always recommend to readers that you don't have to read it from end to end. You can just cherry-pick a chapter on the given stage you're in, or the early wind, and leverage that by just reading it and applying it, then moving forward." – GARY.Connect with Gary Garth:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/garygarth/elev8.io:https://elev8.io/Personal Website:https://garygarth.com/Try Our Proven, 3-Step System, Guaranteeing Accountability and Transparency that Drives RESULTS by clicking on this link: https://oneofakindsales.com/call-center-in-a-box/ Connect with Nancy Calabrese: Twitter: https://twitter.com/oneofakindsalesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/One-Of-A-Kind-Sales-304978633264832/Website: https://oneofakindsales.comPhone: 908-879-2911 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ncalabrese/Email: leads@oneofakindsales.com

It will be mobile. The secret to scaling has always been hiring the right people. It comes down to the culture and the people that you bring in that morph into that culture. It's very important to have a strong finance team and an operating cadence.Valuation is everything you are going to do in the future discounted by how much risk someone sees in you.Recommended Tool: Superhumanhttps://www.superhuman.comRecommended Podcast: How I Built This with Guy Razhttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/how-i-built-this-with-guy-raz/id1150510297 Today's Guest:Tejas Konduru is a co-founder and the CEO of Via Customers.Via Customers is a mobile marketing platform for eCommerce brands.Connect and learn more about Tejas and Via here:Website: https://www.viacustomers.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tejas-konduru We love our podcast community and listeners so much that we have decided to offer a free eCommerce Growth Plan for your brand!
