If there is a Torah foundation to the Christmas story this lesson and the previous are it.  If you haven’t listened to lesson 25 yet, I urge you to do so since 25 and this lesson go together.  (Link for lesson 25 - click here for lesson 25 )  If you ever wanted to study scripture that testifies of Jesus’ coming and His mission, these are two Torah lessons that are foundational to our understanding of the coming of the Messiah and the REASON FOR THE SEASON and a direct connection to John 5:39.In this lesson we will focus on one location.  We must turn to geography to see how God picks one place to help us SEE His redemption plan. In this lesson I mentioned Joel Kramer.  He is an OUTSTANDING evangelical Christian archaeologist.  He did a Bible study tour recently to Israel when he was studying for his advanced degree in archaeology.  One spot they studied was Shechem – the location I mentioned above that God picked.  Below is a link to Joel’s video on site in Israel at the ancient ruins of Shechem.  You won’t want to miss this.  Also, I provided a link to Joel Kramer’s website as well.  You MUST go to his website and see the free videos from Israel that will blow you away.Link to video lesson by Kramer at Shechem - click here for the amazing videoLink to Joel Kramer's website - https://sourceflix.com/Rev. So, I just got off a call with Alex- a PT who's been in the industry for just over 3 years. He was frustrated as he doesn't know how much to charge for his coaching packages. Scrolling through Instagram we find more “online coaches” than you can poke a stick at, that are selling super cheap programs (like $50 for 12-weeks). And if you’re like me, you ONLY want to be coaching clients who are truly committed and not just looking for the cheapest options. This is why I recommended Alex to charge MORE… so then he can get MORE clients. Sounds backwards doesn't it?! You see… All of a sudden we had an army of newly qualified PT’s competing for the same customers as you… Most of them… Still learning the ropes and not confident to charge properly, driving down the costs of PT and people expectations of what to pay, eroding the prices of experienced PT’s with them (I hope you’ve not dropped your prices to compete with them? Or at the very least, it hasn’t shaken your confidence to charge more, has it?) Conversely… while this has all been going on? We’ve seen an explosion in online training! People who are more than happy to pay a couple of hundred bucks or a few thousand for fitness coaching who are happy to work with someone thousands of miles away! This is why YOU MUST price and position yourself properly… Or you could get washed away with the tide of every other “online coach”. If you’re SICK of working for less than you’re worth and want to turn things around THIS YEAR, I’m going to give you the EXACT system that’s proven to get you clients: YES... You’ll get the exact templates to bring a flood of new leads in each week. YES... You have me and my team set up your Sales Funnels and Ads (proven to work). ...and more! I literally GIVE you the system that is working for coaches all over the world. FREE:  Join the Fitness Business Success Circle to access the training guides and join the other coaches here - http://www.coachescartel.com/freegroup

You can have the best freebie in the world, but . . .   . . if no one wants it or opts-in, how good is it really?  Not so good.  If you are struggling with getting people to sign up for your free download, it is costing you more than just email subscribers, it's costing you money and new customers.  If you wonder how all the "other people" are getting traction when you are lucky to get people to visit your website, or if you are wondering why your list isn't growing - this week's Feed U Podcast episode is for you.  I break down the three reasons your freebie isn't working and tell you how to fix it so you can get some traction, increase your sales, and finally reach the people that need you. You can tune into the entire episode here. Before you even think about running ads, you will want to fix these few things first. Running ads is a great way to increase traffic to your website and get in front of some new peeps, but if you don't have your landing page and free giveaway in spit spot shape, you might as well fogettaboutit.  This week's episode is going to help you make sure that you are putting your best foot forward - let's dive in.  1. Your freebie is crap. It's better that you hear these things from a friend, seriously!  If you are putting something out there that is not useful to your people, they simply walk away.  Leaving you scratching your head wondering, what in the heck?  The reality is, the internet is crowded.  People are smart. Buyers are smarter.  They know giving you their email address has the potential to open them up to endless sales emails. (you wouldn't do that though, would you?). Which means you have to be smarter.  You have to offer something that is SO good, that they can't resist.  A great measurement is to put something out there that your competitors are charging for. Before you freak out and say to yourself "I can't give away the farm for free!" Stop that thought.  Here's the deal.  People pay for processes.  If they could do it themselves, they would have done it by now.  They will pay you for the system to get it done (the less time the better). So giving away a doozie piece of that process is just the thing to get them hooked and wanting more. 2. You want too much info This one won't apply to everyone, but there are definitely some doozies out there.  People are protective of their info.  The more information you ask them to provide, the less likely they will complete the opt-in form.  The easier you make it for your new lead to say yes, the greater the chance they will say yes.  Adding a checkbox asking for permission to email them for example. Only asking for a name and email address.  Only the first name is even better. Keep it simple, give the relationship a chance to grow.  Do your due diligence in showing up, and building the relationship instead of asking for their social security number on the first date.  That would not only a "no" but a "hell no!"  The moral of the story, less is more.  Ask for less and then as time goes on, trust builds and they will provide you with more info. 3. Where the heck is your CTA? I can't tell you how many emails I have looked at and wondered, what in the heck was the point of that email?  If you aren't laying out breadcrumbs for your clients to follow in your emails, then don't even bother emailing them.  You MUST have a call to action (CTA) in every single one.  Does this mean selling them your product every time?  Absolutely not!  A call to action can be to gather your newest resource, listen to your latest podcast, watch your latest video, any number of things.  Just keep them moving through the funnel whenever possible. I give you an extra bonus in the episode, listen here to get the extra tip on how to increase your sales.  It's a goodie too. If you loved this episode . . .  I would be so grateful if you would share it with a friend and leave me a review over on iTunes so that we can help more people grow their businesses.

Key Takeaways from this episode It's safe to say that Eddy can't be trusted when it comes to managing his risks in the stock market. You know the one thing that every professional tells you that YOU MUST do. "Smart people learn from their own mistakes, WISE people learn from the mistakes of others" & thankfully for you theres things to learn from Eddy's situation. Managing risk isnt just something that should be applied for the market you want to practice managing risk in just about in every aspect of your life, one cant always control the out come but it helps if risk has been managed properly!Exercise is something every responsible adult should do, it has been proven to improve your life in many ways. Now with that being said, at times it cans till be a challenge to to be motivated enough to remain consistent. Good news is that it starts with you, as long as your internal dialogue around the subject remains intact & your spirits remain high those goals you've set for yourself can be achieved, you just need to believe!Motivation can be such a fleeting thing, if not capitalized on at times it can be too late. Let today be the start great things for you, let today be the day you start giving yourself the life that you deserve, let's make today a part of history. We all have different opinions on an array of different topics, but in my opinion practicing sustainability is one of the most beautiful things we can do. Take the planet we live on for example look at the sustainable being that it is, isnt it amazing? Now obviously we are not planets but why cant we learn some lessons from the nature around us & also help benefit it? It can be as small as starting to recycle or as big to growing a garden where you can feed yourself and your loved ones. Think for just a moment "What can I be doing differently?"

Happy Monday! Happy Monday everyone! Everyone at team One Life Radio had a relaxing, well deserved weekend to spend with family and friends! But we are ready to take on another week of pouring positivity through your speakers! We are having fun today! Bernadette, Junior, and Jason all play two truths and a lie! We are so thrilled to have Jason Harris, Founder of Mekanism and Author of the best selling book "The Soulful Art Of Persuasion" on for the whole hour! Today we will be tackling part 4 of the principalities and pillars that worked together to create success, so let's get started! Jason Harris Jason Harris is the Co-Founder & CEO of Mekanism, an award- winning creative advertising agency whose clients include Ben & Jerry’s, Peloton, OkCupid, Molson Coors and Alaska Airlines. Under his leadership, Mekanism was named to Ad Age’s Agency A-list and twice to their Best Places to Work. Mekanism was also named as one of Creativity’s Creativity 50.Harris has been named in the Top 10 Most Influential Social Impact Leaders, as well as in the 4A’s list of “100 People Who Make Advertising Great”. Jason’s national best-selling book, “The Soulful Art of Persuasion,” highlights the 11 habits you need to become more authentically or soulfully persuasive. Pt 4 - To catch up on part one, click here! For part two, click here. For part three, click here! Jason looked back at how he created success and found the principalities and four pillars that worked together. Today, we are covering "soulfulness." Jason says adopt new skills and try new things every few years, but remember to keep your skills fresh. Don't let them get rusty! Skill hunting is really adopting a work ethic. There's lots of thoughts out in the world swirling around "life hacking," but Jason advises against that. Find something you like, but really focus on it and get good at it. Don't half ass two things, whole ass one thing! Skills and interests are not interchangeable! You can have an interest, but you have to work to make it a skill. Become connected to something that is outside yourself. Extraordinary principals and integrity are key. Muhammed Ali stuck to his principals, and that is what made him the greatest of all time. You MUST stick to your own code of ethics. You must live by your own moral code. Jason Harris knew from a young age that he wanted to get into marketing. Jason started the "Safety Shake," a contactless alternative to handshakes and fist bumps to help kids (and adults) calm their nerves in this new, contactless world. What a great idea for this new world we live in! Thank You! A big thank you to our guest, Jason Harris! To purchase Jason’s book, “The Soulful Art Of Persuasion,” click here! It’s a new #AmWriting episode! There’s a style of creative nonfiction in which a gifted writer tells someone else’s story. The story of a house being built, or a life in the wilderness—or, in the case of Lauren Sandler, the story of a young single mother in search of housing during her first year of motherhood. Lauren’s subject—a smart, driven young woman caught up in the system because of her own history, and desperate for not just housing but an education, a career, and love and a life of her choosing—was unlikely to ever find a way to tell her own story without Lauren’s help. “She chose me as much as I chose her,” says Lauren. We talk to Lauren about how that relationship was formed and how, although the act of observing something changes it, Lauren tried to let Camilla’s story unfold as though she weren’t there, even while her own daughter was demanding to know why they didn’t just let Camilla sleep on the couch. If you’re interested in long-form journalism, or just in the process of embedding yourself into someone else’s life, you’ll love this episode.Links from the Pod:Lauren’s latest book This Is All I Got: A New Mother's Search for HomeFind Lauren on her website: www.laurenosandler.com#AmReadingLauren: The Days of Abandonment by Elena FerranteThe Lying Life of Adults by Elena FerranteKJ: The Book Charmer by Karen HawkinsJess: Goodnight Beautiful by Aimee MolloyThanks for letting us into your inbox. I do a 50 word introduction (which you supply) Then I say: "Are you ready to screw........the commute?" (hahaha) Examples of Questions and Requests I'll Ask: "Will you briefly tell everyone what you do?" "Did you ever have a job? If so, when was the turning point when you left?" "What would you say to someone thinking about leaving their job and starting a business?" "Give us a 3 tips either about what you do or working for yourself." "Have you ever gotten screwed (in business that is hahaha) and what did you do about it?" I will ask you to tell us something funny or bizarre that has happened to you or in your business. (lots of leeway here. If you can't think of any business stuff, how about personally?) If you can’t think of anything, let me know in advance and I won’t ask this question. What do you like best about working for yourself? What's the worst part about working for yourself? What's coming up for you / what are you promoting? (optional) Note: We would like to have an affiliate link to whatever you are promoting so we can put it in the show notes. It would best if it's something that will be on the market for a while because podcast episodes have a long life. Message from Sponsor "What's a typical day look like for you?" "How do you stay motivated?" "Do you have a parting thought for our screwballs?" "How to reach you? More sponsor stuff. Closing Thanks I'm looking forward to a great Interview. When I (Jess here) interviewed Lacy Crawford about her new memoir Notes on a Silencing, we discussed the complex and often contradictory goals of publishers’ legal departments and fact checkers at periodicals such as Condé Nast/Vanity Fair, where Lacy’s first serial excerpt was published. An article on nonfiction book fact checking (or the lack thereof) published in Esquire (by Emma Copley Eisenberg) made the rounds online in August, and many readers were surprised to discover that publishers don’t fact check the books they publish. In fact, a standard clause in nonfiction book contracts indemnifies the publisher when it comes to the author’s factual errors. What publishers do, however, is send the manuscript over to their legal departments to ensure they will not be held liable for defamation, an risk most authors mitigate by changing names or identifying details of some people in the book. Lacy explains how the goals of the legal department and the goals of fact checking are often at cross-purposes, and we come up with a few things authors should think about when selecting a excerpts for publications that will rigorously fact check. The collars are worn and a bit rough and I plan to reverse them to get a smooth surface for feathering. Any other suggestions to make it easier to feather with just fingers? If you have worn collars they should be replaced annually. You can also spread the oarlock by moving the lock nut on the oarlock swing arm. 18:30 How to feather with your fingers. In previous episodes, Jill Devine has talked about how she’s growing her faith. She started attending Messiah Lutheran (located in a suburb outside of St. Louis, Missouri) when she was pregnant with her oldest daughter. One Sunday morning at church, Jill noticed a woman singing on stage. The woman had a tattoo on her wrist, and it caught Jill’s eye because Jill had been thinking about getting a tattoo on her wrist as well, but for some reason Jill kept thinking the visible tattoo would be frowned upon by Christians. Fast forward, randomly, the woman on stage started following Jill on Instagram and now they are friends. The woman’s name is Laura Fleetwood and she created Seeking The Still after she was taken down by depression and anxiety at the age of 37. Jill and Laura talked about Laura’s journey and the process towards healing. While she still suffers with depression and anxiety, she is more equipped to handle it now than before. In the episode, Jill also asked Laura a lot questions about Christianity/Faith and why Jill would even think Christians would frown upon visible tattoos. Laura reminded Jill that Jesus is for everyone … no matter what you look like, no matter what music you like, no matter what! Laura said she has noticed the church has been typically known for what the church is against and not what the church is for. Laura would like to spread more awareness about what the church is for so more people know they are welcome, no matter what. She's an amazing photographer who ran a photog business while going through a difficult time of infertility (in-between the 13-year-old and 4-year-old she had several miscarriages and was certain she would never conceive again). She used her photography business as a way to help herself grieve the realization (or so she thought) of never having more children.  Fast forward, she ended up having 2 boys back to back all the while FINALLY going through therapy for sexual abuse that happened to her as a child. You might be thinking, why would I tell you this? Well, she started a social media/photography campaign to erase the stigma around sexual abuse. The campaign is called Project Ember 2020, you can find it on Facebook. Please go to this Facebook page and you will see what a truly AMAZING woman she is!! With the usual alarming regularity, we find ourselves here, facing down the barrel of EPISODE 118 and it's a film that certain listeners have been chasing us to do for quite a long time...  This week, we are absolutely delighted to be joined by a writer for Total Film, GQ, Radio Times and also the writer of the, frankly excellent, THE BOOK OF HORROR (releasing September 22nd)... It's Matt Glasby! The film? SPLIT SECOND!  We love a dystopian sci-fi actioner, here. Throw in police procedural and you've got fucking catnip. This is a nineties classic which stars the late, great Rutger Hauer, Kim Cattrall, Alum Armstrong and the similarly late Pete Postlethwaite and Ian Dury! You MUST seek this one out.  The synopsis is as follows:  The year is 2008, and heavy rainfall has flooded large areas of London. Rookie police officer Dick Durkin (Alastair Duncan) is assigned to partner maverick Harley Stone (Rutger Hauer), a burnt-out and highly cynical homicide detective who was unable to prevent the murder of his partner by a serial killer three years earlier. Following a spate of murders, it appears that the killer has returned, and Stone and Durkin are assigned to the case. After investigating the scenes of several slayings, they appear no closer to identifying the killer, but a mysterious connection to Stone keeps the trail warm. As each gruesome murder draws the detectives closer to the killer, the killer gets closer to them, until they must finally confront the true evil that lurks below the streets of London. No one is born without it, however, different life circumstances and challenges cause us to question it and “misplace” it. I would like to repeat, we are all born with it. We never lose it. We just misplace it. It is always there but needs to be built, fed and taken care of.    Confidence can be earned and built in a myriad of ways. Athletic and business performances, other people’s comments/thoughts of us, our relationships, comfort within ourselves, personal and professional accomplishments and many other ways.   Confidence can also be “taken” away by athletic and business performances, other people’s comments/thoughts of us, our relationships, comfort within ourselves, personal and professional accomplishments and many other ways.   See the opportunity here? What can give us confidence can also be what causes us to misplace it. So how do we balance that out to the more positive side? You MUST make sure that what gives you confidence is self reliant. You MUST remove/tune out the things that you do not have some control of. That is where the true challenge lies. Confidence can be a fickle little thing but a very powerful tool to truly controlling your life and being your sidekick in kicking ass!    Now that we have a better acceptance of who we are from a confidence perspective, let’s look at the tools you need to grow and nourish it.    Let’s look at the Rules of Confidence: Own YOUR confidence No one should ever have control of your confidence It is something that is as unique to you as your fingerprint Appreciate it It does not have to be anything big but if you aren’t adding to it, it depreciates Do something daily to build it It will not always be “topped off” and that’s ok. Just make sure you are making those daily deposits Accept it It is something that will always be there...or not. Why not take advantage of having it and make sure it is working for you, NOT against you Live with it   Well, we just identified what confidence is, understood the opportunities and pitfalls of it and outlined the Rules of Confidence. That is a great start but how do we actually do anything about it? How do we create a strategy to grow and nourish it so that it is more of a friend than an enemy? It is one thing to understand what’s going on but I want to give you the tools to add to your Mental Toolkit to change and support your habits!

Not everybody wants an author hanging around their office all day.Our guest is a best-selling education writer Jeff Selingo, already an expert on college and higher education who took that one step further for his latest: Who Gets In and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions. Jeff managed to embed himself in three admissions offices to write this book, a feat that will boggle the mind of anyone familiar with the industry (and it is an industry, make no mistake). We talk pitching and selling the book, lining up the admissions offices and then dancing the delicate dance of writing honestly about people and places that have opened themselves up to your critical gaze, finding students to become part of your story and balancing the stories you tell—plus all the minutia of getting those stories, from consent forms to pseudonyms to not changing the outcomes by becoming part of the story. #AmReadingJeff: The Dry by Jane HarperJess: The Woods and Missing You, Harlan CobenH is for Hawk by Helen MacDonaldKJ: Life Is In the Transitions by Bruce FeilerFind Jeff at:His Website: www.jeffselingo.comOn Twitter: www.twitter.com/jselingoOn Facebook: www.facebook.com/JeffSelingoVia Instagram: www.instagram.com/jselingoThanks to everyone who supports the podcast financially. It’s the topic every author seems to love to hate: self-promotion. Sharing our work on social media, pitching ourselves to podcasts and reaching out to friends and colleagues to ask them to boost us up in various ways can feel hard—but it shouldn’t. It’s part of the deal—and the people around you don’t mind. In fact, they want to know when you have a new book or article out, especially if you’re a regular and generous supporter of the good work the people around you are doing as well.We talk about getting past the emotional hurdle here, and then we talk about the how best to get the job done—best practices for self-promotion and a lovely list of “Glamour Don’ts” for those who are worried about getting it wrong. This week… Joe’s favorite musical of all time. PASSING STRANGE  . . "You know its weird when you wake up that morning and realize that your entire adult life was based on the decision made by a teenager… A stoned teenager.” Passing Strange won the Tony for Best Book of a Musical at the 2008 Tony Awards and closed WAY soon. If you don’t know this show… YOU MUST!! Check out the Spike Film on iTunes or Amazon and check the cast album wherever you get music. This show changed Joe’s life and super charged his love for theater at a time when the theater was nowhere to be found. I'll give you all the love life allows… Passing Strange is everything we love about theater. We’re thrilled to bring you this new segment and celebrate the art form we love so much. I wonder what we'll cover next week???
