Stichwort „Loriot“: Auch in einigen Klassikern durfte Luise mitwirken. Hier muss man „Papa ante portas“ nennen. Enkelschreck? Ja das ist das Pseudonym von Luise. Wie es wohl hierzu kam? Hört es selbst! I've spent countless hours uncovering Ponzi schemes and helping victims understand the true nature of these scams. My goal has always been to empower people, helping them avoid losing their hard-earned money. However, my recent experience with an individual I'll call Ethan Graves (a pseudonym) and his associate, representing companies based in Austria and elsewhere, opened my eyes to a concerning aspect of the recovery services industry. This is my account, my observations, and my opinion, shared to provide cautionary insight to others. The Podcast That Raised Red FlagsEthan Graves and I recorded the podcast in one of the meeting rooms at the Global Financial Crime Summit 2024. The discussion centered on the event itself—how insightful the sessions were, the innovative strategies shared by experts, and the importance of global collaboration in fighting financial crime. Ethan brought a cameraman to document the podcast, which seemed like a straightforward way to capture and share the moment. After the podcast, Ethan posted photos and videos on social media, including images of himself standing at a podium with the summit's signage prominently displayed in the background. To someone unfamiliar with the situation, these posts might give the impression that Ethan was closely affiliated with the summit or had an official role as a delegate or speaker. In reality, Ethan's only connection to the event was being invited to record the podcast in the venue. While the posts didn't explicitly claim he was part of the summit, in my opinion, the way they were presented could mislead people into believing Ethan was more involved than he actually was. At first, I thought little of it, assuming Ethan was simply proud of being associated with such an important event. However, things began to shift after the podcast aired.A week after I returned home, I started receiving emails from people who had seen the podcast. Many of these messages were supportive, but a significant number raised serious concerns about Ethan. Several individuals claimed he was a scammer, warning me to be cautious. Others shared documents that painted a troubling picture of his professional activities. These emails stopped me in my tracks. Until then, I had seen Ethan as a fellow advocate for scam victims—someone committed to helping those who had been defrauded. But the allegations and evidence I was receiving suggested a different story. The documents I received included:Contracts and agreements related to recovery services that raised questions about transparency and fairness.Complaints from individuals who claimed they had paid fees upfront but had seen no progress or results.Information suggesting that Ethan's professional partner and their organization were more focused on collecting fees than on delivering real outcomes. What had started as an impromptu podcast to highlight the value of the summit quickly backfired on Ethan. Instead of boosting his credibility, it prompted people to come forward with concerns and evidence that cast doubt on his intentions.Returning Home: The Proposal That Changed EverythingShortly after I returned to New Zealand, Ethan reached out with a proposal that changed my perspective entirely. He explained that he had been discussing with his professional partner at their organisation the idea of pursuing a recovery initiative for victims of Ponzi schemes, particularly HyperVerse. Mark Twain. George Sand. Stephen King. George Orwell. Dr. Seuss. J.K. Rowling. Anne Rice. All these authors have at least one thing in common--they all go by (or have gone by) pseudonyms on their bylines. Perhaps you're considering whether to adopt a pen name for your memoir, so should you? Barbara tends to feel that pseudonyms work better for fiction than memoir, but feel free to disagree--listen to this week's episode for her rationale. Louise Swanson is the pen-name of bestselling and award-winning author, Louise Beech. Louise has 8 novels out, a memoir, and has picked up all sorts of prizes for her work. She has written the play based on her debut novel, 'How to be Brave', which is currently touring the UK, and has written columns for local newspapers. She's back with a Louise Swanson novel, called 'Light's Out'. Set in a strange version of the UK, where a state of emergency is declared and all electricity cuts out at 8pm every night. So, what happens when Grace, terrified of the dark, wakes up every morning after the cut-off, to find a different note from the same intruder - one, seemingly getting closer to something drastic? We talk about getting to the end of a novel as a panster, and how perhaps she's been figuring out how it ends the whole time, but never realising that. Also you can hear how her work writing novels, plays and columns is a bit like riding a bike, and we discuss how one influences the other. We chat about how she was improving in-between rejections, why she needs a news programme on whilst writing, and why her strict routine comes from working class guilt, perhaps. You can watch this episode on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@writersroutineGet a copy of 'Lights Out' and support the show - https://uk.bookshop.org/shop/writersroutineSupport us on with a monthly pledge - patreon.com/writersroutineSupport us as a one-off donation - https://ko-fi.com/writersroutine@writerspodwritersroutine.com Hosted on Acast.

Alexene Farol Follmuth shares her journey from writing fan fiction under a pseudonym (Olivie Blake) to publishing young adult novels like “Twelfth Knight,” the summer YA pick for Reese's Book Club. She delves into her passion for adapting Shakespeare and infusing personal experiences — such as dealing with bipolar disorder and societal expectations of women — into her works.
Let's finish the first half of the year by turning up the speed. Let's make it a 78 RPM Sunday. What better voice to do that with than one who sold over 100 million records during a six-decade-long career. Maverick and his guest Philip review the 2015 release “The Big Short”. They discuss the plot, characters, and themes of the film, as well as their personal opinions and ratings. They explore the unique structure of the movie, which follows multiple storylines and incorporates elements of comedy and documentary. The hosts also discuss the flaws and motivations of the main characters and the effectiveness of the film's opening scene. They touch on the tension and stakes of the story, as well as the use of breaking the fourth wall. Overall, they give positive reviews and highlight the film's ability to make complex financial concepts accessible and engaging. The conversation explores the accuracy of the events depicted in the movie 'The Big Short' and the motives of the characters. It delves into the themes of manipulation in the financial system and the need for more regulation. The principal themes identified are the accuracy of the events, the motives of the characters, and the obstacle presented by the financial industry. The movie effectively portrays the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on various characters, highlighting the corruption and greed within the financial industry. The revelations in the story build into a grand picture of how corrupt the system was, leaving the average person to pay the price. The characters undergo some transformation, particularly Mark Baum coming to terms with his brother's death. The movie ends with a preachy message about the need for more government regulation, which could have been softer or removed entirely. Overall, the movie is entertaining and thought-provoking.----------Highlights:0:00 “The Big Short” Introduction11:36 Banks Exposition14:49 Flaws and Motivations30:08 Pseudonyms, Fiction, and Reality35:55 Motive and Themes of the Underdogs41:58 The Behemoth Financial Industry48:39 Disillusioned With the System1:02:04 Revelations and Endings1:07:09 Does Anyone Change?1:10:55 Satisfaction and Solutions1:19:42 What Would You Change?----------Show Notes:9 Points Rating System: https://www.alostplot.com/9-points/ #thebigshort #2008financialcrisis #greatrecession #alostplot #ryangosling #stevecarrell #christianbale #bradpitt #jeremystrong #governmentregulation #corruption #greed #financialindustry #housingindustry #stocks #shortposition #plot #characterdevelopment

In Episode Thirteen, DDSWTNP follow the puck into the corners with Cleo Birdwell, first female NHL player and ostensible author of the farcical, sex-fueled, “intimate” memoir Amazons, the 1980 satire of a “pseudo-profound” America that DeLillo co-wrote with Sue Buck. Amazons is a sports novel with perhaps more interest in “strip Monopoly” than hockey, more investment by Cleo in her Badger Beagles youth softball team than the New York Rangers. We discuss how this odd book came to be, how it was marketed, how DeLillo never fully owned up to it, and its nevertheless surprising place in his career's development, a comedic lark and palate cleanser in which he makes significant moves toward the vision of White Noise. These include a disease called Jumping Frenchman, simulated death in the American home, and the character Murray Jay Siskind, seen here writing about athletes and a deeply corrupt snowmobile industry before becoming the Elvis scholar readers of the later novel know. In an episode with insights for those who have read this rare book and those who haven't, we show that Amazons, least-discussed of DeLillo's works, really should not be that! Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes reacts to recent court filings that revealed the National Archives and Record Administration located 82,000 pages of potentially government-related emails that then-Vice President Joe Biden sent or received via three private pseudonym accounts, the amount could exceed the famous Hillary Clinton email server scandal. Nunes says the revelation is “hard to believe that that after Hillary Clinton that Biden would do exactly the same thing, knowing that he knowing that Hillary had already gotten in trouble.” The former House Intelligence Committee Chairman says that after recent revelations of questionable partisan conduct from the National Archives like “the criminal referral against Donald Trump on the Mar-a-Lago documents raid, so there's something that smells at the archives.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Peters and JRB Ware—pseudonyms the 80-year-old president was known to use in the White House during his time as President Barack Obama's vice president.” You can read Nava's full article here: https://nypost.com/2023/08/28/national-archives-admits-it-has-5400-biden-pseudonym-emails/ 3:30pm- U.S. District Judge Alan Johnson has ruled against female sorority members from the University of Wyoming Laramie who sued after they were forced to admit a biological male into their sorority. 3:40pm- Noah Rothman— Senior Writer at National Review & Author of “The Rise of the New Puritans: Fighting Back Against Progressives' War on Fun”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest editorial, “Covid Restrictions Can't Be Allowed to Return.” You can read the full piece here: https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/08/covid-restrictions-cant-be-allowed-to-return/ 4:05pm- During her press briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre credited President Joe Biden with opening schools across America following the COVID-19 pandemic.
