Send us a textWhat happens when the very foundations of your safety are shaken, and healing seems out of reach? Join me as I share a deeply personal journey, marking the near fifth anniversary of the Wednesdays with Watson podcast. Born from the solitude of the pandemic and my struggle with PTSD, this episode takes you through the significant moments that shaped my path toward healing. From a life-altering stay in a psychiatric hospital to moving in with a friend who transformed my approach to counseling, we explore the profound role of faith, community, and a trauma-informed support system in navigating life's darkest periods. In a candid discussion, I recount the decision to entrust my journey to Dr. Pettit, a Christian counselor who became a beacon of hope and safety. Despite my initial skepticism about having a male counselor, his approach turned a meeting room into a sanctuary for healing. Through recounting sessions filled with breakthroughs and challenges, this episode underscores how a worldview larger than oneself can be pivotal in recovery. You'll hear about heartwarming and sometimes humorous anecdotes, like my notorious sense of direction, even on the simplest drives from Clearwater to St. Pete.As we recount the trials of facing threatening emails during hospital stays and the solace found in unexpected friendships, this episode is a testament to the transformative power of support and connection. The narrative reinforces a powerful message: no matter how bleak circumstances may appear, hope is unwavering, and every story is still being written. As the podcast approaches its fifth year, we celebrate not just survival, but the discovery of purpose and worth in the face of adversity."Safe in Your Arms" by Josh Baldwin, used by permission MusicBed.com You ARE:SEEN KNOWN HEARD LOVED VALUED

LESSON 303The Holy Christ Is Born In Me Today.Watch with me, angels, watch with me today. Let all God's holy Thoughts surround me, and be still with me while Heaven's Son is born. Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear. Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home. And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father's Love. Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.Your Son is welcome, Father. He has come to save me from the evil self I made. He is the Self That You have given me. He is but what I really am in truth. He is the Son You love above all things. He is my Self as You created me. It is not Christ That can be crucified. Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

LESSON 226My Home Awaits Me. I Will Hasten There. If I so choose, I can depart this world entirely. It is not death which makes this possible, but it is change of mind about the purpose of the world. If I believe it has a value as I see it now, so will it still remain for me. But if I see no value in the world as I behold it, nothing that I want to keep as mine or search for as a goal, it will depart from me. For I have not sought for illusions to replace the truth.Father, my home awaits my glad return. Your Arms are open and I hear Your Voice. What need have I to linger in a place of vain desires and of shattered dreams, when Heaven can so easily be mine?- Jesus Christ in ACIM

Cutting Crew | (I Just Died) in Your Arms (single) 1986

For hundreds of years before Germ Theory was discovered, people were trying to find an explanation for the plagues and pestilence that followed them. As millions succumbed to the Black Plague, leprosy, rabies, and tuberculosis, there was no rhyme or reason for the death and destruction. They didn't understand bacteria, viruses or parasites. Even through the 1800s, people thought that disease was caused by the wrath of some vengeful god, or a curse from an evil foe. Not only that, but they believed that the people who contracted these diseases were possessed of some demon. They turned into vampires or werewolves. “Communication” has become a buzzword in today's modern workplace with few understanding its true importance and value. Many companies say they want to communicate effectively to their teams and employees, but so much of communication is nonverbal and, in turn, misunderstood. My guest today has helped his clients gain over a billion dollars in new business using the communication strategies he teaches.Richard Newman is the Founder of Body Talk. Over the past 22 years, his team has trained over 120,000 business leaders around the world to improve their communication and make a larger impact. We talk about two major aspects of communication, what you're communicating with your hands and arms, the science of communication—including a very interesting study—and much more!Time Stamps:(2:00) Richard's Story(6:08) Where Richard Lives(6:35) Two Biggest Things About Communication(10:00) The Science of Communication(20:00) Talking With Your Hands/Communication with Your Arms(25:40) A Story of Transformation(27:50) Richard's Product Suite(29:26) Where to Find RichardFollow Richard:Instagram https://www.instagram.com/richardnewmanspeaks/Body Talk Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ukbodytalk/LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/richardnewmanspeaks/Body Talk LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/communicationskillstraining/
The holy Christ is born in me today. Watch with me, angels, watch with me today. Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today. Your Son is welcome, Father. He has come to save me from the evil self I made. He is the Self That You have given me. He is but what I really am in truth. He is the Son You love above all things. He is my Self as You created me. It is not Christ That can be crucified. Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son.- Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles, Lesson 303
How much should my hands/arms move when leading? How much arm and hand movement is too much? ______________________________________________________________ If an arm movement supports the body movement, then it can be fine or even recommended. But body movement should come first. You do not want washing machine arms, wax-on wax-off hands. This is a No-No. Arm movement originates from your body movement, As long as you're not 'leading' anything, you can keep relaxed arms, elbows next to your body, just in front of your ribcage, with the forearms horizontally. Your body/shoulders are moving with the music, your arms follow this movement, they shouldn't move too much independently. When you ARE leading something, you might have to stiffen up the frame a bit. Even then, it will largely depend on what you're trying to lead. You should not dance with your arms. It's almost always confusing and It doesn't help. Your Arms are for leading, In a handhold position - if you move them you are asking the follow to do something. If you are moving them around too much it's confusing for the follow. Give the follow some tension in your arms but don't be rigid, have some flexibility. There is a middle ground that you must find. If you can imagine this, your arms are never in one state, they are always in this transitory state between fluid and tense. They are never 100% loose (think noodle arms) or 100% strict and tense. It is best when motion in your upper body is natural, not deliberately added in. The problem with some leads is that they start to perform, to other leads, and forget what they should be doing – Dancing WITH their partner. Or they forget to dance at their dance partner's level. #Salsa #Bachata #Kizomba #Podcast #BrazilianZouk #Tarraxinha #Zouk #Passada #Ginga #Forro #LambaZouk #Afro #Latin #African #Socialdance #Socialdancing #Partnerdance #Partnerdancing #Pachanga #Lambada #Dance #Dancers

Have you ever been so wiped out that you feel you can't go on and you are hanging on by a thread? A thread that is about to break at any time. Please join Rusanne Carole in this week's podcast as we travel to visit the woman the Bible speaks of in the book of Luke. We chat about pressing in to touch His garment, allowing us to "press in" and "persevere" and get through the many challenges we face in life. ***** Welcome everyone to Celebrating God's Grace, a Women World Leader's weekly podcast. We welcome you and are so happy you've joined us. My name is Rusanne Carole and I'll be your host today. Today we will chat about look how can we persevere, push through each day even when we may feel broken, exhausted, and barely hanging on! When you live enough life you realise that life has seasons where the sun shines, life seems like it couldn't get any better. I think of times of falling in love, having a baby and holding them in your arms for the first time, accomplishing a long fought after goal to name a few. Then we have the hurricanes of life; a diagnosis and a fight to live, constant caring of a loved one and our exhaustion is overwhelming; our whole life given take care of another, the death of a loved one. The dichotomy of life itself. Seasons where it is warm and cozy and seasons where it is bitterly cold and you feel you are walking against the storm with icy water being thrown at your face over and over again. I recently heard someone say they felt like they were hanging on by a thread, not sure if they could go on anymore. Someone responded, well if you feel you are hanging on by a thread, let it be onto the thread of the hem of the garment of our Saviour Jesus Christ. It's easy to love God and enter His presence when life is going well. Oh, worship comes easy. Singing at the top of your lungs, even jumping up and down a bit booging to the rhythm of the holy songs we sing. But have you ever tried to dance when your heart is hurting so badly it feels like its in such pain it may never beat again. And those around you are happy and you wonder, Lord, what's happening to me. Why? I love you. I serve you. I want You and life is so terribly difficult. If we are honest I believe we have all felt like this. In our quietest moments all alone when the storm hits we have those thoughts of self pity. Why Lord? Why? We cry out and wait on a response, but there may be complete silence. Waiting. Trying to hear Him. The consistency of the earth's seasons is a reflection of its Maker and the steadiness of His character. They come and go with each passing of time. But the seasons of life come with at times uncertainty. We don't know what each day may bring. Wonderful or challenging. This is where we face the days either with God, seeking Him with all our heart or not. We have a daily choice. It's not about surrendering, it's about living surrendered. Every day. At times, every moment of a day where we find ourselves in raging waters. I'm reminded of the story in the Bible in Luke, Chapter 8, where there was a woman who had been suffering for twelve years. She had a medical issue and had spent all she had on trying to get help and no one could help her. Being her condition was one of haemorrhaging she would have been considered unclean, should have never been out in public. But she had heard of this Jesus and heard of the miracles He had performed. Someone had said he would be coming to Galiliee. But the crowds were huge and many had been waiting for him to arrive. Should I go and try to see Him? Could He, would He see me? I have heard of the huge crowds that come. I'm not even supposed to be out in public. But what if I could just get close to Him? What if I could make my way to get close to Him. I wonder where she was and who she was with when she learned this Jesus was on His way, on His way to her town. I wonder what the conversation might have been in her head. The thoughts tumbling around. Should I go? Or should I just stay at home? That would certainly be safer. What would people think? How silly of me to think that this Miracle Worker, this man they say is the Son of God would even notice me? I wonder how she may of slept at night thinking He is on His way. Will I see Him? Will I be able to receive the healing like so many I have heard of? What was it she was feeling as she prepared and got dressed to go out in the streets to try to see Him? Verse 44 in the Passion translation says “pressing in through the crowd, she came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of his garment”. The fringe was the corner of the prayer shawl and the tassel was meant to symbolize all of the commandments and promises of God. This woman was laying hold of a promise of healing. Pressing in. Pressing in. What does this mean for us to press in? I believe it means for us to grab hold of the promises of God. They are for each of us. The work Jesus did on the Cross tells us of His love and sacrifice for us. We are healed by the stripes He took as He was beaten on our behalf. When we accept Him as our Saviour we are in Him. We may feel in life's trials and tribulation, in the center of a storm, that we can't pick ourselves up to press on and press in to Him. But we can. In His strength. In our minds eye, even when our body is weak. We can picture reaching out to Him and letting His healing balm flow over us. It is in His presence we find rest. I invite you to close your eyes if you are somewhere you can. Take a few breaths and breathe in His love He has just for you. IN THE ARMS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST In Your Arms Lord The only place I am truly safe Your Arms, with scars in the palm of your hands from the nails that pierced them, held You on that Cross where You gave Your life just for me Your Arms hold me Lord Always, but especially tight When I feel alone When I feel confused When I am hurting from trouble and tribulation I continually face in this world Your Arms hold me Lord As the thorn adorned crown rest upon Your head Your head on my shoulder Leaving marks from the dried blood that flowed from the thorns that pierced Your Holy Head Your Arms hold me Lord And I hold onto You with all my might Your Arms hold me Lord Each day and especially at night Sometimes the days are easier with the busyness and sounds of the day It's when the darkness comes and the moon suddenly appears in the night sky There is quietness, inwardness, introspectiveness Sleep, slumber and stillness call us to rest and recharge Come and hold me Lord Wrap Your Arms around me Hold me close It's only in Your Arms I want to be Rock your child to sleep Lord You are my Rock upon which I stand But it's in Your mighty Arms Lord I find strength to go on I find the love to have for myself and for others and the security in this temporary world in which I now live In Your Arms Lord I always desire to be! So like the Galileen woman in Luke 8 may we press in and press on. And has she declared so humbly and I picture confidently and with overwhelming joy she declared, “I was desparate to touch you, Jesus, for I knew if I could just touch even the fringe of your garment I would be healed.” May we know the same. Jesus responded and He responds to us today, “Beloved daughter, your faith in me released your healing. You may go with my peace.” May we all press into Him, be in His Word daily and get to know Him more and more each day. Amen
My Home awaits me. For I have not sought for illusions to replace the truth. Father, my home awaits my glad return. Your Arms are open and I hear Your Voice. What need have I to linger in a place of vain desires and of shattered dreams, when Heaven can so easily be mine?- Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles, Lesson 226

The holy Christ is born in me today. Watch with me, angels, watch with me today.
Video and Podcast by: Todd Bruce and Kevin Boehmer Kevin and Todd dive into and discuss some of their favourite talks from General Conference, BYU Speeches, Church Devotionals and any other significant talks that can be found. On this video they discuss, “Within the Clasp of Your Arms” by Jeffrey R. Holland which reminded members that “It is increasingly clear that we must teach the gospel to our families personally, live those teachings in our homes, or run the risk of discovering too late that a Primary teacher or priesthood adviser or seminary instructor could not do for our children what we would not do for them.” Come for the spiritual discussion, stay for the tangents and occasional hockey/pop culture talk. My home awaits me.

Episode 33 : The Early Days... Stanley and Me : An Interview with Gerald Fried - Part 1 This is the first part of our interview with Gerald Fried. We spoke to him in late 2018, when he was just 90 years young. Gerald Fried, a native New Yorker, has scored almost 300 films and television shows in a career spanning 70 x years. His movie scores include such varied titles as Machine Gun Kelly for Roger Corman, Jack Nicholson’s first feature film The Cry Baby Killer, The Killing of Sister George, Too Late The Hero & The Grisson Gang all three for director Robert Aldrich. His TV credits include some of the most popular shows being produced at the time including M Squad, Wagon Train, Gunsmoke, Gilligan’s Island, The Man From Uncle, Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Lost In Space and Police Woman. Gerald was nominated for an Oscar for Best Music with an Original Dramatic Score for the feature-length documentary Birds Do It, Bees Do it at the 1976 Academy Awards, up against several other notable composers with memorable scores. The Wind and the Lion from Jerry Goldsmith, Jack Nitzsche’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Bite The Bullet by Alex North, and the winner that year was……… John Williams for probably the most famous movie score of all time JAWS. So Gerald was in great company that night. Gerald also won a TV Emmy for his work with Quincy Jones on the amazing mini-series Roots from 1977. Having composed the scores for five of Stanley Kubrick's earliest films, he is one of the most frequent collaborators of Kubrick, and he was in fact the composer of the last Kubrick film that was entirely scored by a single composer. Fried and Kubrick first worked together as a composer/director partnership, as 21 (23) year olds on the short film Day of the Fight, back in 1951, followed by four feature films, Fear & Desire, Killer’s Kiss, The Killing and Paths of Glory. In this episode, being Part 1 of our interview with Gerald, we discuss the early years in New York when Gerald and Stanley were just coming up and starting to carve their careers out in the film business. The holy Christ is born in me today. Watch with me, angels, watch with me today.

In 1987, she won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and has been nominated for three Grammy awards. In 2008, she was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from Billboard magazine, and was also prominently featured in the historic black issue of Vogue Italia in 2008. Her early music influences are Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, The Carpenters, Roberta Flack, Prince, Grace Jones and various jazz artists including Nancy Wilson. In December 2016 Billboard ranked her as the 21st most successful dance artist of all-time. and in 2017 Black Music Honors TV special recognized Watley as Crossover Music Icon Honoree for her groundbreaking achievements and influence. In August 2018 Billboard ranked Jody Watley as one of the top female artists of all-time, at number 53. Jody's Early career1977–1984: Soul Train and ShalamarWatley was born in Chicago, Illinois and made her first stage appearance at 8 years old with family friend and godfather Jackie Wilson. (CLIP JACKIE WILSON) She got her entertainment start on the TV dance show Soul Train at the age of 14. Documented by Ebony magazine in 1977 as a part of "The New Generation," Jody Watley was one of the most popular dancers on the show and recognized as a trendsetter for her style and dance moves. As standouts on the television show, Watley and fellow Soul Train dancer Jeffrey Daniel were selected to join Gary Mumford and become original members of the R&B group Shalamar, which was created by soul trains Don Cornelius. (Mumford was shortly replaced by Gerald Brown, and Brown himself was soon replaced by Howard Hewett as lead vocalist). So The lineup now in shalamar of Hewett, Watley, and Daniel would be the most successful. Jody Watley remained with Shalamar from 1977 to 1983. In that time, The trio released several albums and scored several hits including the US Top 20 "Dead Giveaway", and the R&B hits "The Second Time Around", "For The Lover In You", and "A Night To Remember". A show exclusively for Shalamar up in a few weeks so I didn't mean to tease you their wit den jammies but few weeks we'll hook up with shalamars music.. after all of this and Because of conflicts within the group, disagreements about the artistic direction of Shalamar with Dick Griffey, and lack of payment from Solar Records, Jody Watley finally leaves the group in 1983, prior to the release of Shalamars "The Look" album. Here we are in post Shalamar mode for Jody watley as she moved to England, and while there, she recorded a guest vocal with British Jamaican roots reggae group Musical Youth for their album, Different Style!.(clip) remember them, She also recorded with Gary Langan, Anne Dudley and J.J Jeczalik (who later became Art of Noise).(clip) She had a brief stint with Phonogram Records where two singles were released (in the UK, Europe and Australia – though crucially not America) under the moniker "Jody" (no second name), "Where the Boys Are" and "Girls Night Out". Also during this era, and after departing the group, she took part in Bob Geldof's Band Aid recording of "Do They Know It's Christmas", which included Bono, Boy George, Sting, George Michael, Phil Collins, Status Quo, Paul Weller, Bananarama and other prominent UK artists. After two and a half years in England, Watley returned to America and secured a recording deal with MCA Records, eager to establish her own identity.[29] Her debut solo studio album, titled Jody Watley, was released in March 1987, and she co-wrote six of the album's nine songs. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Watley would say that she wanted to showcase her voice against "really funky hard dance tracks."[29] The album's lead single, "Looking for a New Love", became a hit and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[30] The album peaked at number ten on the US Billboard 200, number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and sold 2 million copies in the United States and a total of 4 million copies worldwide. It produced five uptempo dance and R&B singles that charted on the Billboard Hot 100, with three peaking within the top-ten: The first being "Looking for a New Love" was a #2 hit for Jody and was released in January 1987 as the first single from her debut album. The song became one of the biggest pop and R&B singles of 1987. The single hit number two for four consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 1987 and spent four weeks at number-one on the Billboard R&B chart.[1] It is the only single between 1985 and 1990 in the United States to have spent four weeks in the runner-up position and not have reached the number one. The single was kept out of the top spot of the Hot 100 by Cutting Crew's "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" and U2's "With or Without You", and would itself keep Club Nouveau's Hot 100 number-one single "Lean on Me" out of the top spot of the R&B chart. It ranked number 16 on Billboard's year-end chart for 1987. The song also reached number-one on the RPM Singles Chart in Canada. In 1988 the song was nominated for two Soul Train Music Awards for Best R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video, and Best R&B/Soul Single, Female. She was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. The single lookin for a new love came about While listening to a tape of instrumental tracks given to her by producer André Cymone, Watley reflected on a recent sour romantic breakup. Fusing her own feelings of "I'll show you" with the feel of the track, Watley came up with the basic premise of "Looking for a New Love." The released record is the eight-track demo of the song; that way the emotional urgency of Watley's vocal was still intact. One of the song's key phrases became a popular saying: "Hasta la vista, baby." It wound up on innumerable answering machines and was used by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1991 film Terminator 2: Judgment Day (see Hasta la vista, baby). This is what the kids now days would call a banger. Jody wattle lookin for new love on this weeks old school rewind podcast CLIP Lookin for a new love We are tracking jody watleys hits on the Old School rewind I'm Aaron from the 35 acres and a microphone podcast farm.. The three most noted singles for jody chart wise were that you just heard lookin for a new love next up a song called still a thrill got to #56 on the top 100. Higher at the r&b radio stations While the #56 (US chart) peaking "Still a Thrill" didn't necessarily match the pop chart success of its blockbuster predecessor, it was, however, a major hit on both the R&B and dance charts in 1987. Watley employed a deep lower register on this uptempo R&B / dance song, which she co-wrote. It was produced by Andre Cymone and David Z. There have been CoversFrom Indie Neo-soulsters, Soulscream, on their 2001 album, Prototype @lpha1 2001 Neophunk. Synth-pop artist, Matthew Duffy, covered "Still a Thrill" on his album, Here I Come. Still a thrill CLIP still a thrill We're messing around in the lab and hookin you up with some jams to hear, and the stories from the singers and songs from the True School Days of Old School and we're featuring jody wattle. Next up for jody was my favorite song I played on KWIN in Stockton back in those days was this one which reached #6. The song "don't you want me. I can remember like yesterday Christmas of 87 I was doing a lot of filling in for vacationing Dj's and this was actually the footings of Dance and Rhythm music to start taking down the white nature of top 40 radio It was released on August 10, 1987 as the third single from the Jody Watley album. The song was produced by Bernard Edwards of Chic-fame, and written by Franne Golde, David Paul Bryant and Jody herself. "Don't You Want Me" was a huge hit in the United States, reaching position number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one and three on the Dance Club Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts, respectively. Watley's previous single, "Still a Thrill," fared well in dance and R&B markets, but less-so in the mainstream. This is the race thing I bring up a lot on this show. It was a lil too much for the radio. That was enough and prompted her label, MCA Records, to go in a more pop-friendly direction. "Don't You Want Me" was one of the biggest crossover singles for the year 1987, reaching the top-ten of the Billboard pop and R&B charts. The single was also popular in nightclubs, reaching the top spot of the Billboard dance chart. Some more chart chatter for you Chart performance"Don't You Want Me" landed in the Top 40 of the US Billboard Hot 100 the week of October 24, 1987, advancing from number 56 to 40. The single reached number six on December 19, 1987 and remained there for three consecutive weeks. Theres been some Sample usage "Don't You Want Me" sampled extensively on the 49ers' 1990 hit "Don't You Love Me?". Remixed eurodance versions have appeared on the Dancemania series albums, including Dancemania SPEED 2 issued in 1999. Share subscribe tell a friend. Jody watley's next single is "most of all" released on April 18, 1988 as the fifth and final single from the Jody Watley self titled... "Most of All" was the least successful of the five singles released from the Jody Watley album. It peaked at number 60 on the US Billboard Hot 100 but did find success on the Dance Club Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts, where it reached numbers eight and eleven, respectively. The song was produced by Patrick Leonard and was co-written by Gardner Cole, both of whom had been involved with Madonna's 1986 album, True Blue. The accompanying black and white music video for "Most of All" was directed by famous Hollywood director David Fincher. David fincher (thinking) where have I heard that name before.. David fincher. Oh I know do you watch jimmy Fallon, when Nicole Kidman went on and said that she went around Jimmy a couple of times and sort of liked him and Fallon knew nothing of it.. the mutual friend is David finches that would make sense. I'm pondering out loud sorry. That isn't confirmed either but. I think that was that guys name For me. the songs kept getting better and I thought the melody of most of all and the hook were incredible. This was a real artist. (CLIP) most of all At the 30th Annual Grammy Awards of 1988, Watley won the award for Best New Artist, and was nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. That same year, she also received nominations for four MTV Video Music Awards and three Soul Train Awards. Heres a note. After Shalamar she had two singles released under the name of "Jody", without her last name even though adverts in UK pop magazine, Smash Hits, mentioned that she was "Formerly of Shalamar". This "technicality" (no second name), allowed her controversially to be considered a "New Artist" at the Grammy's, beating Breakfast Club, Cutting Crew, Terence Trent D'Arby and Swing Out Sister. Shortly after winning the Grammy, Watley would be featured in Harper's Bazaar magazine photographed by Francesco Scavullo. Things than became "LARGER THAN LIFE" for Jody watley. that is a play on words a bit as it is the name of jody's next album or sophomore effort. In the spring of 1989, Watley released her second studio album, Larger than Life, co-writing eleven of the album’s twelve songs. The album sold over 4 million copies worldwide, reaching number 16 on the Billboard 200, and produced four singles: "Real Love" (US #2, #1 R&B, #2 Dance, UK #31), a Gold-certificated single and her first Top 40 UK single since "Looking for a New Love" in 1987; "Friends" featuring Eric B. & Rakim, (US #9, #3 R&B, #7 Dance, UK #21); and "Everything" (US #4, #3 R&B), her first ballad released as a single. The album's fourth and final single, "Precious Love", was a minor hit, peaking at number 87 on the Billboard Hot 100.[33] "Friends" is notable for being the first multi-format hit single to include the formula of a pop star featuring a guest rapper with the custom full 16-bar verses and bridge concept, and distinguishable from the rap "Intro" by Melle Mel on Chaka Khan's notable cover of Prince's song "I Feel for You". The successful "Friends" formula would become a mainstay formula in commercial pop music and was added as a category at the Grammy's under Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2002. During the summer of 1989, the "Real Love" video, directed by famous Hollywood director David Fincher, was nominated for seven MTV Video Music Awards including Breakthrough Video, Best Art Direction, Best Dance Video and Best Female Video at the 1989 ceremony. That record was held until Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson's video "Scream" received 11 VMA nominations in 1995. The next year, she was nominated for two Soul Train Awards, an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Female Artist, and a Narm Award for Best Selling R&B Female Album. While riding high on her Larger Than Life World Tour, a remix album, titled You Wanna Dance with Me?, was released in October 1989 and achieved Gold status in America. 1989 also saw Watley featured in Harper’s Bazaar "Ten Most Beautiful Women" issue, photographed by Matthew Rolston. That same year Watley appeared on the cover of the Japanese high fashion magazine SPUR for its debut issue.[37] Watley released the million selling "Dance to Fitness" a first for an African-American woman and artist. My home awaits me.
Archives Listen to the Prayer Audio: Heavenly Father, We call You, ABBA, for that is what You are to us and want us to recognize, You are the DADDY we all need and want in our lives no matter how old we are. To know You this intimately is our goal. To trust You with all our burdens, hurts and pains, our joys and blessings that You want us in Your Arms as Your children. Oh, Father what a privilege to our God Who is Almighty and All-Powerful loves us like a dad is awesome and beyond our comprehension. We are too feeble sometimes to realize it but it is the Truth and Yeshuah, Your Son proved it and shows how it is true, even when He said let the children come to me for such is the Kingdom of Heaven. Here we are Lord! Lord as we pray, we know we are under the shadow of Your Wings and we have nothing to fear from our enemy. We believe we are kept off the enemy’s radar and kept from his sight because of the Shield of Faith around us. Continue to scramble the enemy’s frequencies so that we only hear the sound of Your Voice in the stillness of hearts. Thank You, Father, for this sacred time of unity that we are here to follow Your Commands and do as You ask us to do! Father as repentant children we are here to release all of our past that has been filled with sin, rebellion and iniquity and all that we have done to others and what has been done to us. Because of Your Son, Yeshuah we are set free and we are free indeed. Through the Holy Spirit we know we can walk into all truth as He reveals it to us. Lord, we are so grateful that we are washed clean of our past and now are a new creation in Christ Jesus! We stand ready to be sent and be present for all You have planned for us! Father, because of our repentant actions we see that You are healing our land of America and other nations who like us are remembering to repent and that You hear from heaven and heal the land! We seek Lord the fulfillment of Your word spoken to us through Your Prophet, Mark Taylor that our Judicial system is to be cleansed. That we will see our Supreme Court will be revamped by having new Justices in place. Let it happen even now as we pray! Father, we seek more removal of Judges who have been influenced by the bribe to make way for the righteous men and women willing to serve Justice and live by the rule of law that is established by our Constitution. Lord from the high courts to the low courts. Protect President Trump in His decisions and all those who are willing to accept the responsibility of being fair and just in their rendering judgments. Protect Judge Paul Patrick and others who have made decisions that are right and true. Lord put a stop to all these foolish plots to overturn just decisions. May cases built on false accusations, lies, deceit and gossip be thrown out! That we can truly live by innocent until proven guilty. That trials by jury can truly be held in righteousness and seeking the truth! That our Justice system will continue to be cleansed and returned to its proper functioning in our government and in our lives as Americans! Father, for too long we have been deceived and lied to about how we are to live and to be controlled by those who call themselves elite, Illuminati, masons, globalists, and other masters of our world. We cover all those who are willingly revealing the Truth no matter what the cost. It is the Truth that sets us free! For too long Lord we have been taught lies even by those who say they are teachers of Your Word. May they all face the consequences of what they impose on us as a form of controlling and limiting our freedoms. We are a free people in Yehsuah our Lord and Savior and as we are restored may we pass it on to our children and into the future. We trust You Lord. You are the source of all that we have and have been given. Thank You for remaking America a land of the free and a home of the brave to be a land of Promise an...
Shhhhh...top secret freestyle mix for friends asking me to dig these tunes up. It is a very raw un-edited mix. Ripped the music from my vinyl collection. This is where it all started. Got into deejaying in the late 80's, when I was exposed to House and Club (Freestyle) music. I remember hitting record on my tape deck late on the weekends on Hot97, to hear djs spinning at NYC clubs like Palladium. I guess listening to freestyle first, is what got me into spinning breaks. Here is an ode to that era. Here is the track listing: 1) Coro - Where are You Tonight 2) TKA - Louder than Love 3) Eileen Flores - I Have Dreams 4) George Lamond - Without You 5) Judy Torres - No Reason to Cry 6) Noel - Silent Morning 7) Maria Nicole - Give a Little Love 8) Laissez Faire - In Paradise 9) Jaidie - Answer My Cry 10) Lil Suzy - Take Me in Your Arms 11) TKA - Give Your Love to Me 12) Laissez Faire - To be in Your Arms 13) Pajama Party - Yo No Se' 14) George Lamond - Look into My Eyes 15) Cynthia - Love Me Tonight 16) Debbie Deb - When I Hear Music 17) Lisette Melendez - Together Forever 18) Cynthia and Johnny O - Dream Girl/Dream Boy 19) TKA - Maria

Joe Stone is the alter ego of Dutch DJ Maurice Oude Booyink, who's been working as a DJ and producer for many years. He's making waves with a full fledged, contemporary house sound with a 90's-style twist. But while the name is new to the scene, his musical background speaks volumes, ranging from classical music training to producing timeless house tunes and remixes for some of the biggest names in electronic music. Joe Stone's first single, 'The Party (This Is How We Do It)', gained lots of attention in the summer of 2015. It repackaged the infamous Montell Jordan hit it in a 21st century house groove, featuring the original vocals approved by Jordan himself. In the meantime, Stone was added to festival lineups all over the world, including Tomorrowland, Dancevalley, Judgement Ibiza, Hed Kandi and Sunrise Festival to name a few. His extensive touring schedule led to inspiration for new masterpieces, such as ‘Make Love' and ‘Let's Go Together', which soon led to a stream of remix requests. Joe Stone remixed tracks for Kriss Kross Amsterdam, Quintino, Felix Jaehn, EDX, R3hab, and Lost Frequencies, as well as David Guetta & Afrojack's ‘Dirty Sexy Money'. His release with Cr3on, ‘Is It Really Love', was the #1 trending track on 1001 Tracklists and has been streamed more than 12 million times on Spotify. This has resulted in over 1.7 million monthly listeners and an ever-expanding listener base for his monthly ‘Sound Of Stone' radio show. I catch up with Nick Van Eede, lead singer of Cutting Crew, who had some of the biggest hits of the 80’s in (I Just) Died in Your Arms and I’ve Been in Love Before. Nick talks about the success of their first album, Broadcast and why their follow-up, The Scattering, which is another great album, failed to have the success that their first album had. The band released their latest album, Add to Favourites, a couple of years ago. Nick talks about what band he auditioned to become the lead singer for and the Cher song he helped write.
This Ep: Special Guest: Nick Van Eede of Cutting Crew Greg goes in-depth with Nick Van Eede of iconic Brit-band Cutting Crew. Busting on the world music scene in 1986 with their album "Broadcast", Nick & Kevin MacMichael were the driving force behind this Grammy-nominated band's chart-topping success. Two songs, "[I Just] Died in Your Arms" (which hit #1 in Canada & US) and "I've Been In Love Before" (Top 10 in Canada & US) influenced an entire generation of Gen-X'ers in 1987 and continue to stand the test of musical time. Genuine Classics without a doubt. Caution: This episode includes saucy language, kazoo tales, and many great story's by a great story-teller!

In 1986 Nick van Eede released a song ("I Just Died in Your Arms") that will be played long after we are all dead. But he's got a lot more going on than that, and on his new album (still under the moniker "Cutting Crew") he's recorded his best songs from the last decade without regard for continuity with the sound that made him famous. We discuss "Reach for the Sky" from The Scattering (1989), "Berlin in Winter" from Add to Favourites, "Frigid as England" from Compus Mentus (1992), and wrap up by listening to "Looking for a Friend," also from the new album.
