    Pause and Reflect Hope for People Experiencing Complex Trauma with Jennyfer Rosado

    Even once we get healthy in our relationship with alcohol, there's often more work to do on the unhealed wounds we have (that maybe either came about with alcohol or they were something you used alcohol to try and avoid).  Whatever the case, it's important to be honest with yourself about your own level of need for deeper work.  In this episode, Jennyfer does an amazing job of taking something as abstract as complex trauma and sharing it in a way that will help you decide whether or not there's deeper work to be done for yourself.     Here's Jennyfer's bio in her own words: I'm a LPC in private practice in Texas, specializing in trauma but more specifically complex trauma. I work a lot with childhood sexual abuse and perinatal trauma and loss. I am certified in brainspotting and hope to begin working towards becoming a consultant in the next year or two.     Getting right with alcohol is only the first step to truly fulfilling your purpose.  Alcohol holds you back, but what happens AFTER?  This week I got to reconnect with Jenn Linck after one year and we chat about life as an Optimized AFer.   Jenn Linck is  a personal trainer, healthy habit and accountability coach, a Chief Warrant Officer Three in the US Army Reserves, a champion collegiate rower, a former bodybuilder, mom, a wife, and a woman in recovery...but that's not the important part. The important part is that she perseveres  through life's curveballs, keeps going despite challenges, and never gives up. Her passion for training and coaching is in her blood. When she was fourteen, her late father (who was a body-building competitor in the eighties) took her to the gym and taught her how to use every single piece of equipment. It's no surprise then, that when it came time to get my National Association of Sports Medicine certification, she studied for just two weeks and passed. She is also part of the Army's Master Fitness Trainer program, which helps Soldiers prepare for physical fitness tests. Through decades of trial and error, she learned that how fitness feels is more important than how it looks.  On January 5, 2020, after nearly 20 years of trying to moderate my drinking, she surrendered to the truth that the life she wanted to create could no longer include alcohol.     Why Knowing Isn't Always Enough with Deborah Antinori
