The controversies surrounding the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region board continued this week after a sixth rural municipality, Springfield, voted to depart the group. In Episode 4, Councillor Mark Miller elaborates on their reasons, which echoed complaints that derailed the WMR's previous Plan20-50 development blueprint.This interview supplements our column in today's Winnipeg Sun - RM of Springfield exits WMR6.10 Part 2- Ward 3 councillor Mark Miller describes the district of 16,000 residents which includes the towns of Oakbank, Dugald and Anola. It's a rural setting east of Winnipeg with many commuting to the city for work and appointments. He explains how Plan20-50 was set up to allow Winnipeg to "dominate" development planning with a veto that undermines local autonomy. After being ordered back to the drawing board, that hasn't changed."We can breathe a sigh of relief to get out of this bad situation," Miller says, calling it "a horrendous horrible exercise" that cost his RM over $130K. While WMR defenders smeared opposition concerns, "It wasn't misinformation - you were providing accurate information... they did not consult. I'm thankful you were on top of this from Day One."He actually attended to the single Plan20-50 open house the WMR staged in Winnipeg in 2024, held on a weekday when "most of us are working stiffs" and couldn't go."I was disgusted, " Miller states. "They weren't catering to the citizen who is most affected in the rural municipalities... maybe it was strategy that they don't want the public to be involved" 23.23 Part 3- While Springfield will go back to the residents before any vote to re-join the WMR, residents of Winnipeg have had no say whatsoever on remaining in the organization, let alone be able to find out if taxpayers are getting value for their dollars."The hemorrhaging is continuing, and there could probably be more," Miller predicts, as other RMs determine "there's nothing for us. "27.10- The schedule for preparing a new regional plan runs concurrent to the fall municipal elections, which Miller agrees means support for the WMR can become an campaign issue.- "If our Mayor runs that he is for it, I can assure you his vote count will go way down because our residents don't want it. "- "The whole process was flawed and continues to be flawed if they don't consult with the public directly... it isn't an expensive exercise, don't tell me it's too expensive."- "I will not vote for anything that allows the City of Winnipeg to have veto power."At the council meeting before the vote, Mayor Patrick Therrien revealed “The City of Winnipeg will be looking to expand its boundaries in the very near future." Miller asks, "Does he know something we don't?... if that's the case are they just going to take parts of West St. Paul and Springfield and MacDonald or Headingley?... The second series of events is for deferred admissions candidates who are currently completing their first degrees. Including Iran, Iraq and all of the middle east. Praying for Muslims that they might come to the full knowledge  and understanding  of who Christ is. That is what is most important. Thats my take.   But with that… it reminds me of Jonah. You know the story… (tell story)   When Jonah does return he does not preach the full extent of scripture…. He only tells them they are doomed for their sin. The city of Nineveh figures it out themselves… they repent. But here is the kicker… Jonah's actions did not match his heart. In chapter 4 Jonah laments that his worst fear actually happened…  Chapter 4:1 This change of plans greatly upset Jonah, and he became very angry. 2 So he complained to the Lord about it: “Didn't I say before I left home that you would do this, Lord? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people. 3 Just kill me now, Lord! I'd rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen.”   Jonah understood Gods Holiness, he understood the price of sin, he understood Gods mercy and grace… What he didn't understand was the cost and ramification of his own sin.    Forgive our enemies is not natural… it has to be supernatural.  LOVE our Enemies is Transformational!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I said this 10 years ago that 2025-2027 would usher in a new age.    If you're not paying attention, this is your notice........   Sales is going to be the biggest casualty in thte next 5 years due to the implementation of A.I.    Elon Musk appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast recently and Joe asked him the probability of robots taking over the human race.    Elon's response......."20% chance."    Think Terminator 2.    The Matrix.    That's what we're looking at.    The truth is it's probably going to be closer to 18 months.     There are self-driving cars (Waymo) in select cities that people can buy rides.  The Uber and Lyft drivers have been replaced if this works without a problem.    The evolution of robots is going to induce mass layoffs due to technological advances.    I'm currently working with Executives and CEOs about how to replace their current sales team with A.I.     The Facts Around Sales People:    Most sales people are right-brained.    They're. not analytical.    Consider what it costs to employ a sales person:    Payroll tax is around 8-13% YOu ahve to manage their W-2 incomes Provid health insurance  Matching 401K Sick days Unemployment Insubordination By the time the average company hires a sales person, they're looking around close to $130K+ in compensation.    The flip side is you might get 2 out of 8 productive hours froma. sales person.    Low productivity.   Time away to take care of kids, family vacations, etc.    So, it's no wonder the big corporations of the world are looking at Terminator 1000 to replace sales people.    It's here and it's closer than you think.    Right now, the big focus is to look at the trades.    Plumbing.  HVAC.  Home services contracting.     If you're willing to do the work, you will not starve.     You've got 18 months to figure it out.    Lean in and listen closely.    I'm watching out for you and your family here.    The future is here, and if you are not leveraging ChatGPT, Grok, Midjourney, and the suite of A.I. tools available to you, you're going to slip through the cracks.    It's up to you what you fill them with.    The work begins now.     About the ReWire Podcast The ReWire Podcast with Ryan Stewman – Dive into powerful insights as Ryan Stewman, the HardCore Closer, breaks down mental barriers and shares actionable steps to rewire your thoughts.
