It's another fantastic birthday pre-trip episode with the luminous Sav and Piff of the Pixie Dust with a Twist podcast! Virginia had the pleasure of sitting down with these two for Sav's birthday in July, and now it's Piff's turn for some birthday fun. The ladies are planning to stay at All-Star Movies and will be having some Halloween fun by attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Since this trip is all about Piff, she is also anticipating an appointment at Savi's Workshop to build a lightsaber. Piff is back from her birthday trip with bestie, sister-in-law, and her podcast co-host Sav, and is ready to share all the details. This trip had some highs and lows. Mostly highs, but as you'll hear, there was some debacle with their late night Mears journey from MCO to All-Star Movies. In the end, Piff made it home with a new lightsaber in hand and a touch of sadness that the birthday fun was over. For this year at least! In the 161st episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are split this week, as Jenn is getting back from a conference in Universal Studios Orlando, leaving Dave to take the mic solo. Disney's Jollywood Nights tickets are going on sale, so Dave is going after those, which leads to an off the cuff discussion about Universal vs Disney, and how Universal is swinging for the fences, while hopefully Disney will make some major announcements later this summer. News on Genie+ updates, as well as new popcorn buckets, and Tiana's water tower goes up. Finally, a chat about All Star Sports, All Star Movies, and All Star Music. Dave gives both the pros and cons of staying at these resorts, going over the rooms, the dining, the transportation, and the Music Family Suites in detail -- hopefully you'll know by the end of the show if you love them or would avoid them at all costs!
On today's episode we are finishing up our battle of the resorts series with the bus resorts. This one was a tough one, seeing as it has all resort categories and so many differences!
As previously promised on the podcast, this week we bring you our review of the current state of Disney parks in Florida. Having spent a week down in somewhat sunny, often rainy and oppressively hot Florida we've had a chance to see if Disney has been able to bring the magic back. We'll take a look at the resort, the amenities offered and the service. Then we'll take a look at the technology Disney is trying to throw at it's guests to justify some of the drawbacks and costs. Finally we'll talk about our experience at three of the four parks and where they stand compared to previous visits.
Casey and Eric highlight their stay at Disney's All-Star Resort back in Christmas 2021 and discuss how Disney has elevated the All-Star resorts from an overlooked hotel to a family destination with upgraded amenities. We discuss the room refurbishments that took these rooms from a motel feel to a true resort getaway! We obviously discuss the food options at the World Premiere Food Court and the amazing pools All-Star Movies offers. Do not sleep on these value resorts as they have made a comeback in our opinion as a great low-cost option to be inside the Disney bubble! Enjoy the show and we will see you at Disney!!

How did they narrow it down to six? The team rode the attraction over and over again testing how various tracks fit with the spirit and the movement of the coaster. They finally settled on the following six songs in their original classic versions: “September” “Disco Inferno” “Conga” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” “I Ran” “One Way or Another” You won't know which track you're going to hear until you blast off. Plus we now know that the theme of the ride is to help stop Eson, the Celestial villain who is trying to complete an evil plan. --Connections Café & Eatery is Now Open at EPCOTConnections Café & Eatery is open and ready to serve in the World Celebration neighborhood. The restaurant's design includes nods to Walt Disney's original plans for EPCOT. There are two experiences – an eatery on one side serving lunch and dinner menus, and a café and pastry shop on the other open all day long. When walking past Spaceship Earth on the way into the park, Connections Café and Eatery is on the left. Floor-to-ceiling windows give a full view of the open space featuring modern décor and tempting smells of pastries baking, fresh coffee brewing and burgers on the grill. Since World Celebration is located in the center of the park, Connections Café & Eatery offers some great views as well.A colorful mural called “Global Gathering” covers one wall and reflects the heart of the restaurant – people from around the world gathering around food. It's one of the biggest murals Walt Disney Imagineering has ever created. Take note how the scenes blend seamlessly from sunrise to sunset. You can also see chefs at work in three show kitchens. Watch them grilling, sautéing and baking everything from burgers to pizzas and sprinkling pixie dust on fun desserts from milkshakes to waffles.Whether it's coffee or tea, you'll find it here showcasing how various cultures enjoy their favorite drinks. As always at WDW, don't forget to look down. There are three original floor inlays inspired by Walt's 1966 “Florida Project” site plans, where EPCOT was to serve as the “center” of Walt Disney World. These details honor Walt's original dream of EPCOT. --‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!' Opening Summer 2022 at Animal Kingdom ParkThe Nemo show is getting an update: “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” – opens this summer at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. The fully updated, 25-minute show incorporates live performers and puppets, along with many of the favorite songs from the original “Finding Nemo: The Musical.”In addition to a new script, the show features new set pieces and a new LED video wall designed to visually extend the world created by the physical sets on stage. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and the All Star Resorts (comprised of Music, Sports and Movies hotels) - two titans of Disney hotels, but for very different reason. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is the only hotel on property where you can actually see some of the animals you may get to meet at Animal Kingdom, and the All Star Resorts are, well, the cheapest. We're taking you on a little jaunt through each of these resorts this week.

This week in Disney News, the Game of Thrones co-creators DB Weiss and David Benioff backed out of doing the upcoming Star Wars trilogy that’s set to come out in the early 2020s. We’re not crying too hard after the much-hated final season of GoT garnered them much criticism from die-hard fans. We suggest some alternate choices for directors that we think would be a good fit for this beloved franchise. This week we discuss the Disney Value Hotels: The Campsites at Fort Wilderness Lodge, All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, All-Star Movies, POP Century, and Art of Animation. We go into what the advantages there are to staying in each one and some of the drawbacks. Then we rank which one we like to stay at the most. (We always stay in a value hotel since we’re at the parks so much.) Thank you for lending us your ears! Check us out on Facebook or submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode or support us on Patreon.

All Star Movies Resort Review - WDW Opinion Ep. 41 There are so many places to stay on Disney property. When you go there a lot it’s always fun to pick a new place to stay. Where you stay really helps to determine what type of trip you have. You’re staying at the poly? Then you’ll probably be headed to the Magic Kingdom a lot. Maybe you’re at the Yacht Club so you can walk into Epcot. Perhaps you have a room at Port Orleans Riverside so you can hop on a boat to Disney Springs every night. Whatever it is, it will surely be a different trip depending upon where you stay. Of course the categories of Deluxe, Moderate and Value play a big part in that as well. Recently I got the chance to stay at All Star Movies in one of the newly renovated rooms. While it has a Value price tag the lines between resort levels are beginning to blur. In this segment will say what we liked about the resort, what we didn’t like and give our overall rating. Now, unfortunately, Hank wasn't able to join me on this trip but a good friend of the podcast Austin was. We want to hear his thoughts to so we are happy to welcome back to the show Austin Lee. Today we talk various challenges and solutions as we plan our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. What time of year should we go? Can we eat without making our bank accounts cry? Will our hotel room have a coffee maker? Does wearing three sweaters on the discount airline count as swoll? But seriously, will there be coffee? We don't know. Casseroles Cooking: Mattress shopping. Skip ahead to minute 2:36 if you don't care about mattress shopping endeavors. Songs stuck in our heads this week: The Office: Who vs. Whom Debate TV on the Radio: Halfway Home Products mentioned: L.L. Bean Stowaway Duffle $39.95, L.L. Bean (also comes in multi-colored!) Foldable electric kettle $19.99, Amazon Silicone collapsible coffee dripper, $4.99, Amazon Spirit airline Correction: I said in the episode that currently (or pre-renovation) the standard rooms at All-Star Movies Resort don't have a coffee maker. However, All-Star Movies Resort rooms are split into Standard and Preferred rooms, and I meant to say that pre-renovation none of the rooms at All-Star Movies have a coffee maker.
