Rob's primary objective is to share his story of a failed suicide attempt that led to a relationship with God. He suffered many years of sadness, anger, confusion and fed that with drugs, alcohol and bad relationships. With the help of God, he was able to turn his story into one of forgiveness, understanding, and love. His desire is to inspire, encourage, and give hope to those who have had similar battles. Rob now travels around the globe telling his story of redemption and hope and helping youth to overcome suicide, depression, and to live victoriously in each area of their lives. Rob is not only a speaker, but a fitness professional, mentor, and coach. Listen to this with an open heart and a pen and a pad to take copious notes!! In this podcast you will hear how you can:

Our last Director's Lottery* sees us tackle one of Graham's beloved Czechoslovak New Wave directors - Juraj Herz, the thrilling maniac behind The Cremator. We chose his 1972 Gothic fantasy Morgiana, which is less viciously political than his best-known film but equally mad, and equally replete with fish-eye lenses. In Off the Shelf, Rob reviews Mafia Inc., a French-Canadian gangland epic by Podz. That's it, just Podz. We're perplexed too. There's also a review from Graham about Helmut Newton: The Bad and the Beautiful, documenting the controversial career of the German fashion photographer and containing the best Grace Jones interview since, well, probably since whatever the last one was. This week I am very excited to welcome the fantastic runner Alyssa Clark to the podcast! Alyssa has one of the most outstanding stories I've heard in a long time. Once Covid locked her down in Italy, she decided that she was going to run a marathon every day for a few weeks. Well.....being an ultrarunner (which gives you that extra dash of lunacy) a few weeks became a month which became two months which became the consistent routine of a marathon every morning before she found herself in the 70s, 80s and 90s. She completely shattered the previous "Consecutive Marathon" World Record and more amazingly, did so while in the middle of a move back to the United States! On top of all that, Alyssa is just a super knowledgeable runner and an awesome person to chat with! Recently she has cohosted a bunch of wonderful episodes for Rob Steger's "Training For Ultra" Podcasts and began a website called Training4Adventure which shares all sorts of inspiring adventure stories. Can't wait for you guys to listen to this episode! Also Rob is acting as our special cohost to intro Alyssa at the beginning of the show and chat filmmaking and his "Triple Crown of 200s" doc in the outro so I hope you all enjoy those segments as well! Rounding out the rest of the top 5 in this week's pod before we look back at the ‘best year in cinema', 1994 and Louis does a very, very long review of The Mask. There is some optimism as the senate is closes in on a $2 trillion stimulus bill. Markets have reacted worse in the past, more precisely the ’07-’08 scenario where congress voted against a buyout before a market plunge that sent them scrambling. While today’s snapback rally won’t get you where you want to be, but it will give you the opportunity to sell some losers. The world is coming together to fight this virus and hopefully we have already hit rock bottom. A whole new year! And look, we're doing an episode. It's a bunch of just random talk of three people who talk to each outside of the show but you wouldn't be able to tell based on the fact that we know nothing of what's happened to each other lately. Also Rob basically gratifies himself talking about his gaming achievements. Chibi Ninja and We're all under the stars (Erik Skiff) @eric-skifffreemusicarchive.org/music/Eri…ibi_ninja ericskiff.com/music/freemusicarc…flu…eflux_-_catnip Game/TV/Other Music used in this episode (music not owned by us in any way shape or form, all credit goes to the original composer): Licenses: freesound.org/people/kukla/sounds/94104/ creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/ creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3 ===== It's worth nothing, and it should be obvious, but all the views on this show are by us and us only. Any pathetic attempt at comedy should be taken in consideration. Our "damage" segment is a recommendation system only, and not so much on the quality of game. Any game can be good to any one, and any can be bad, so it's all entirely subjective. What I am saying is don't listen to us. I mean, listen to the show, by all means. Just, you know, consider your own opinion over ours.

The PIXELS trailer was the most popular conversation topic on the RubberOnion facebook page this week, so we lead with that. At the end we discuss the internet as a creative spawning ground and how traditional media fits in AS WELL AS addressing a question to me (Stephen) about being a freelance animator. We also talk about the ATTACK ON TITAN live-action teaser, INCREDIBLES 2 plot, and the announcements of a California Raisins movie as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring in and producing a Fraggle Rock film. Also Rob went to an underwear party in Williamsburg (which, as a sentence, isn't that weird because it ends with "in Williamsburg"). So enjoy the discussion and feel free to join in below in the comments section! CLICK HERE to go to the full blog post & leave a comment! What do you feel is the best way for freelance animators or artists in general, to get noticed? What ways of social networking would you use to get exposure?"
