Few figures have shaped fashion's visual language like Marie-Amélie Sauvé. From her formative years at French Vogue to her lasting collaborations with Nicolas Ghesquière, she has navigated an industry that thrives on change while staying true to her creative convictions. In this episode, Sauvé reflects on the golden era of editorial freedom, the founding of her own magazine, Mastermind, and why true innovation demands risk. She also shares how yoga sharpens her creative discipline, why she gravitates toward brands in need of reinvention, and what she believes is fashion's biggest challenge today. A rare glimpse into the mind of one of the industry's most influential yet elusive figures. "Mastermind isn't just about fashion. It's about cinema, architecture, politics—because if you only look at fashion, you miss the bigger picture." - Marie-Amélie Sauvé Episode Highlights: Growing up with fashion in France – Fashion was as much a part of daily life as literature and gastronomy in her upbringing, shaping her early perspective. Landing an internship at French Vogue – Her mother's love for fashion led to an opportunity at Vogue Paris, where she was first exposed to industry legends like André Leon Talley, Helmut Newton, and Guy Bourdin. The golden era of French Vogue – Describes the unparalleled creative freedom of the magazine at the time, where editors and photographers could push boundaries without advertiser interference. Why she left Vogue to go freelance – She wanted a deeper understanding of how clothes were made and how designers shaped the industry, rather than just styling full looks in editorials. How yoga shapes her creative process – She practices Iyengar yoga daily, valuing its emphasis on precision and discipline, which mirrors her approach to fashion and creative direction. Why she created Mastermind – She wanted a magazine that balanced fashion with architecture, politics, cinema, and philosophy, giving equal weight to journalism and imagery. The longstanding creative relationship with Nicolas Ghesquière – She and Nicolas "grew up together" in the industry, sharing an obsession with research, reinvention, and pushing creative boundaries. Why true innovation requires risk – She reflects on how the most memorable fashion moments come from pushing boundaries, rather than playing it safe within industry expectations. Fashion's democratic shift – Acknowledges that while fashion is now more accessible, standing out requires an even stronger creative perspective and sense of individuality. What's contemporary now? – Time. In an era of constant acceleration, she believes the most valuable thing is having enough time to slow down, focus, and create with intention. Crescenzo Notarile and Paris Chong discuss his work shooting nudes, with Paris acknowledging the potential for perversity and intrigue associated with the genre. Crescenzo emphasizes that all great artists start with nudes to study form, beauty, lines, and geometry, citing Picasso, Rembrandt, and Caravaggio as examples. He shares his own influences in nude photography, including Bill Brandt, Joel Peter Witkin, Helmut Newton, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Irving Penn. Crescenzo highlights the challenge of evoking emotion and avoiding cliché or vulgarity in nude photography, and mentions his own nude book and his use of infrared film to create a unique aesthetic. He also acknowledges the common observation that male photographers often shoot more female nudes than male nudes, offering reasons such as the perceived difference in beauty between the male and female form, as well as the difficulty in finding male models willing to pose nude.Show Clip from The Paris Chong Show with Crescenzo Notarilehttps://youtu.be/_vFzSFYdQLohttps://www.theparischongshow.com

In a unique and opulent way, Drebin stages femme fatales against the gigantic backdrops of cities such as Hong Kong, New York, and Paris. The panorama of the big cities, which, due to their format, are a tribute to cinema, serve as cinematic settings. With their impressive skyscrapers, they provide the viewer with a nearly infinite surface for the imagination. Denis Curti"Jacques Henri Lartigue. We celebrate her life through the music played in this episode. My very special guests today are Artist Larry Vigon & Silo118 Gallery Owner Bonnie, Rubenstein to discuss “MADONNA and BUNNY and FRIENDS” - A Holiday Exhibit About Larry - Larry Vigon is an award-winning art director and designer who is credited for some of the most iconic album covers from the '70s and '80s. He has designed over 200 albums and single sleeves for Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Counting Crows, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Chicago, Pat Benatar, Carol King, Sparks, Boney James, Thomas Dolby, and many more. But he is equally known for his works with some of the greatest photographers of the late 20th century including Helmut Newton, George Hurrell, Joyce Tenneson, William Claxton, Peter Beard, and others. His paintings are in private collections all over the world. Larry's first book in 2006 DREAM A Journal was published by W.W. Norton, New York. Larry Vigon's new 2-volume set of books is a collection of over 50 years of creativity, carefully curated and laid out in a presentation that stuns the senses and delights the eyes. Photography by Bill Dewey By Palman Publishing www.seriousplay-book.com www.larryvigon.com About Silo118.com Silo118 art gallery got its start in 2016 on the ground floor of a historic feeder silo in Santa Barbara's Funk Zone.  The silo was built in the late 1940s to supply flour for the Weber Bread factory which was in business from the late 1940s through the mid-1970s. After the bread factory shut down, the silo lay empty for decades, until it was refurbished (somewhat) in the early 2000s. In 2016 Bonnie Rubenstein was given the opportunity to run an art gallery and moved from the east coast. She called it Silo118 for the obvious reasons - reflecting both the iconic grain silo in the middle of a town and the address on the street where the silo lives. In 2018 the online version of Silo118 became the sole entity of the gallery until November 2021, when Rubenstein re-opened the brick-and-mortar in the same iconic silo with new and familiar artists and a Kids' Corner. Silo118 Presents: “MADONNA and BUNNY and FRIENDS” - A Holiday Exhibit December 1, 2022, through January 14, 2023 Reception is THIS SATURDAY - December 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

- Cuánto puedes aprender fotografiándote a ti mismo.
