The goal of The Win Your Life Podcast is to illuminate the intersection between prevention and performance. The fitness industry is focused on performance and not always concerned with prevention. On the other hand, our health care system is focused, by necessity, on combatting the overwhelming amount of disease, illness and injury in our society. At the intersection of prevention and performance, there is a group of coaches, medical professionals, business leaders, athletes, and thought leaders that are working to help you Win Your Life. In this mini-series, we are focusing on the pursuit of the peak. Whether you are chasing your potential in sport, business, health or life in general, my goal with this mini-series is to share the stories and best practices of top performers and coaches. In this episode, I talk with mental performance coach John D'Agostini about his experience coaching top performers in the MLB, MLS, Olympic level and business. As a former pro baseball player turned performance coach, John has decades of experience with peak performance and his insight into the mental aspect of the pursuit of the peak is both actionable and interesting. 5:56 MN United (https://www.mnufc.com/) 7:37 Tyrell Terry Stanford (https://gostanford.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/tyrell-terry/17098) 12:02 Gabe Kalscheur Gopher Basketball (https://gophersports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/gabe-kalscheur/18409) 13:45 Michael Jordan ‘The Last Dance’ (https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29180083/the-last-dance-how-replay-stream-espn-michael-jordan-documentary) 17:23 Self-Actualization in Sports (https://year12pe-authority.weebly.com/maslows-hierarchy-of-needs-in-sport.html) 20:10 Mindset of an Athlete (https://gostanford.com/sports/2014/5/2/209487946.aspx) 25:07 Annie Hart (https://www.teamusa.org/us-ski-and-snowboard/athletes/2/Annie-Hart) 25:48 Abundance Mindset (https://thriveglobal.com/stories/how-to-shift-from-a-scarcity-to-an-abundance-mindset-3/) 28:35 Lactic Acid Build Up (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-does-lactic-acid-buil/) 31:40 Olympic Weightlifting (https://www.olympic.org/weightlifting) 37:55 Empathy in Coaching (https://hbr.org/2015/02/how-great-coaches-ask-listen-and-empathize) 41:45 Mason Toye MN United (https://www.mnufc.com/players/174/mason-toye) 55:14 CATZ (https://www.catzcoach.com/) 1:05:55 Invictus Leadership (http://invictusleaders.com/)

Most people know Shirley Chung from her time competing on Top Chef, but long before she made her TV debut Shirley was sharpening her knives under the tutelage of some of the best chefs in world. Following turns working with the likes Guy Savoy, Thomas Keller and Jose Andres, Shirley’s struck out on her own with the opening of her Culver City restaurant Ms Chi Cafe. From the archives we dig into one of our favorite performances from the legendary Annie Hart. Snacky Tunes is powered by Simplecast.
I'm so fortunate to have one of my favourite UK musicians on the show, Mr Alexis Taylor. A founding member of the now legendary Hot Chip, he's been releasing music for good whee while now and by gosh it's all superb. His clothing choices are also second to none. The man marches to the beat of his own drum machine. I REALLY hope you're not aware of Alexis thus far so you get to experience the joy of opening up his catalog as it were the first snow you'd ever seen on your lawn. The majesty!!! Hello Alexis! GIG ALERT Alexis has got a seriously cool show coming up very soon in NYC March 15th and 16th https://www.metmuseum.org/events/programs/met-live-arts/alexis-taylor-19 Needless to say, this is a MUST for any New Yorkers. He's playing together with the amazing Money Mark, my super talented friend Jonny Lam, Annie Hart and visual master Nick Relph at the Met! Bloody hell. EPIC! Today's Nitty is a levels game. I ask the potentially expensive question “does a DI/mic pre combo make eurorack belt harder?” Find out! Music for this episode comes courtesy of Rory Simmons https://www.rorysimmons.com https://rorysimmons.bandcamp.com soundcloud.com/rory_simmons He's a superb player and has already worked with a massively talent bunch of people like Jamie Cullum, The 1975, Bonobo, Mount Kimbie, Bat for lashes and many more! SWEET Sponsors of todays show are the wonderous https://www.spitfireaudio.com Makers of some of the finest sample libraries in the known universe. Just unreal and yet so so real!! How you doing?

Annie Hart made her name as one third of Au Revoir Simone, a band she initially formed almost fifteen years ago after befriending Erika Forster on a trainride from New York to Vermont. Along with Heather D'Angelo, Au Revoir Simone have released four records and despite their last coming out almost half a decade ago, the trio’s star remains on the ascent, with several appearances on the third season of Twin Peaks earlier this year. The Long Island-born Annie released Impossible Accomplice, her first solo record in the summer, and we met her when she came to the UK to play at Margate’s By The Sea festival. As an independent musician, Annie’s managed the finances for Au Revoir Simone since the band’s inception and today we’re talking about her expertise as a book-keeper.Catch up with our earlier shows by subscribing on Apple Podcasts with this link: bestf.it/talkthelineTalk The Line is hosted by the amazing podcast people at Pippa.io who make setting up a podcast a total breeze. I am currently in Beitostølen, Norway for the first races of the season. I just finished up a 10-day camp in Sjusjøen, Norway with Andy Newell, Erika Newell and Annie Hart. Today’s conversation is with Erika and Annie, two of the best female skiers in the U.S. who are not currently on the U.S. Ski Team. They both ski for the Stratton Mountain School Elite Team and primarily compete on the U.S. Super Tour circuit. Both have started a few World Cup races but neither has scored World Cup points. They both attended and graduated from Dartmouth College and have super interesting lives outside of skiing. In our conversation we touched on a wide array of topics including the long odds of Olympic qualifying for U.S. women racing domestically, sexism and sexual harassment, eating disorders in skiing, Annie’s political leanings and many other topics. Thanks for joining us!
Recorded live at MaxFunCon East with special guests Cristela Alonzo and Stuart Wellington with music from Annie Hart. Head over to the Maximum Fun YouTube Channel for VIDEO of this episode!
We open this episode in Paris where we meet up with the inimitable Camille Fourmont, owner of the must-visit wine bar, La Buvette. She shares with us the story of how she discovered her deep love for wine, and also explains how passion and intent can be just as important as expertise when it comes to the hospitality business. We're then joined by one of our favorite people, singer-songwriter Annie Hart, who you might know best as one third of the synth-pop band, Au Revoir Simone. Annie's just released her first solo album, "Impossible Accomplice," which she recorded in her Brooklyn basement after putting her kids to bed at night. Snacky Tunes is powered by Simplecast
Seattle agents Annie Hart and Derek DeWolf talk about their shared business in real estate, how they work so closely together to best serve their clients, and how they each have their sights set above the day-to-day fear and stress of real estate. Annie Hart is a Realtor in Seattle, Washington. She grew up in a small rural town in Eastern Washington to parents who were early entrepreneurs in the Washington apple industry and after decades in that industry she entered real estate. This week on a brand new Snacky Tunes, host Darin Bresnitz is getting into the summer spirit with Joe Carroll and Nick Fauchild, authors of the upcoming book “Feeding the Fire: Recipes and Strategies for Better Barbecue and Grilling.” Talking about the making of stellar barbecue and grilled meats in Brooklyn at his acclaimed restaurants Fette Sau and St. Anselm, Joe shares that in the book he gives us lessons and highlighted recipes to make incredible fire-cooked foods at home, proving that you don’t need to have fancy equipment or long-held regional traditions to make succulent barbecue and grilled meats. Darin then welcomes Annestine Bae and Gheanna Emelia, the EIC/Creative Director and Executive Editor, of Brutal Magazine talking about the relevance of print and how they came to start the mag. Annestine and Gheanna explain that Brutal Magazine is meant to be a collaborative world that showcases talent from different creative industries through the lens of food. Brutal strives to produce stories that embody that juxtaposition through stirring visuals, smart writing, and a sense of humor. Musical guest Annie Hart rounds out the show, catching up with Darin and recalling some crazy stories from tour before performing live in studio! Chatting about the recording process and its similarities to cooking, Annie talks about her solo work and what’s next for her music! This program was brought to you by Whole Foods Market.
[r] Hear Jesse’s interview with one of comedy’s greatest grumps: Lewis Black. He didn’t become a stand-up until his mid-thirties. Find out why he left the theater for comedy and why he actually considers himself a family comic. The answer will surprise you. Then Jesse talks to Syl Johnson – the soul singer who has been sampled on countless hip-hop records -- about turning down the record deal that ended up going to Al Green. Andrew Noz shares some of his favorite hip hop tracks, and Annie Hart of Au Revoir Simone reveals the hardcore song that changed her life.
The lovely and talented Annie Hart "made time for tea" with us to share stories of her band Au Revoir Simone (barely) perfoming in a cage in the center of a roller rink, getting heckled by the group going on after them, the trials and tribulations of using a drum machine and .wav files, and being a mom who tours in a band. Au Revoir Simone's new album Move in Spectrums plops September 24th, chumps! Gallons of grace on this week's WORST GIG EVER!
Holy mackerel! This may very well be our most fun live show yet! On January 8th, we were joined by Erika Forster and Annie Hart from one of our favorite bands Au Revoir Simone, one of our favorite performers Josh Patten (performer at UCB and a writer on SNL Weekend Update), and one of our favorite artists Molly Crabapple (the founder of Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School). We laughed, we loved, we heard about their earliest creative memories. And even did a little demo work for a PR firm that paid us big buck$ to poll our audience! Subscribe on iTunes and follow Andy and Mark on Twitter! See us live in February at UCB East! (probably!)
