In this brief episode, I sum up the outrageously trashy BAD BEN movie franchise. How can something be so-bad-it's-good (and now it's just plain bad)? Do any Found Footage movie fans even dig this? Does anyone actually think it's realistic (and how insecure does one have to be to think that)? Find out more in easily the most bizarre franchise we have summed up on here to date! The human blink is controlled by the subconscious. The reflexive closing movement of the eyelids clean and protect the eyes. When we blink, the visual centre in the brain is regulated. Therefore, we do not consciously perceive this whole process and the briefly reduced incidence of light. On average, this procedure is conducted 10-15 times per minute. In moments of great excitement, joy or concentration, we can blink significantly less often. Due to the excessive focus, the blinking becomes a consciously controlled process for a certain amount time. The first Joe Carl EP on KataHaifisch contains two tracks. Both are well suited for a club setting. Strong basses create a dancing mood and hypnotic leads a dreamy atmosphere. In both songs you can hear the unique style of Joe Carl. It's defined through an exciting sound design, dynamic arrangement and little acoustic details. Let yourself fall into the music and enjoy the magic of „This Is Why We Don‘t Blink“. Thanks for your attention
Bad Ben enthusiasts L (@nocturnical) & Nate (@badbenpimp69) discuss the almost newest installment in the iconic franchise. Yeah, it is as slow & tired as we are but we will not give up on our hero Tom Reilly. FYI, don't @ us with Bad B slander, the only response you will get is a chain of Stone Cold Stunner gifs. The witching and horror-movie-watching season may be over, but the Secret Boo-vie Club Team (Connor Lloyd Goos, Edwin Ghost-mez, Dan-eek Ott, and Craig Hamm-kill) holds a seance for everything spooky they did for Halloween that they haven't already talked to death on the podcast! Daniel gushes on the new film Pearl. Connor spills his guts about some new-to-him films he loved, like Deadly Lessons and Bad Ben. Edwin loses his head over a cool Friday the 13th poster. Craig sinks his teeth into SMC's screenings of Raw and Ganja & Hess. Happy Halloween Hangover everyone!

Introduction: Yes, host Michael Rand is fully aware of the contradiction in that dual-purpose headline. He spends the first several minutes of the show talking about how a lot of games -- and by extension, a lot of NFL teams -- have been bad this year, including Thursday Night's 12-9 snooze-fest between the Colts and Broncos. How do we explain all the poor play? Rand has some ideas. 7:00: Nonetheless, we can't look away. Rand welcomes Star Tribune Vikings beat writer Ben Goessling to the show to set up Sunday's game against the Bears. The Vikings are one of just eight teams over .500 this season, and they have a chance to improve to 4-1. The Bears are in rebuild mode and offer an interesting "what-if" for the Vikings. 30:00: The Wild, the Wolves, and the race to 82-0.

Ben Franklin is deeply embedded in the American ethos. He was a Founding Father, an inventor, a printer, an author, a diplomat, a man about town, to name just a few of his talents. He was prolific to say the least and was a true Renaissance man. In this episode, Jon and Kurt marvel at his successes and share some of his lesser known accomplishments.

In this bonus episode, Jim speaks one on one with creator, writer, director, and more often than not, star of the Bad Ben movie series, Nigel Bach. In the interview, Jim talks to Nigel about his eight movie series that began with the original 'Bad Ben'. For those not familiar, Bad Ben is a series of found-footage horror/comedy movies available on Amazon Prime. Nigel discusses his time before the movies and what led him to make the first with a few hundred dollars, a couple thousand dollars in cameras, and his iPhone, and how he ended up starring as the series' accidental protagonist Tom Riley. Jim and Nigel discuss how the character of Tom, an average guy from New Jersey trying to flip a house won at auction, became a fan favorite as well as the movies that didn't focus on Tom and their place in the Bad Ben universe, the Tom Riley animated series, and a bit about the future of the franchise. If you came here for something political stay tuned until the last few minutes where Nigel and Jim talk about Amazon's creator platform that gets independent movies like Bad Ben into the Prime catalog and reimbursing the creators. This system has gone through several changes in the past few years to reduce payouts, and while you can, and should, still see Nigel's movies on Prime, he also explains why he's now an official martyr in TLiD canon for being the first person we've spoken with to be permanently banned from using the review feature on Amazon.
Tom Riley buys a home at a sheriff's sale to flip for a profit. When he enters the home he finds that all of the belongings from the previous owner are still there, as if they left in a hurry. He also finds that there is a camera system in the house. Which is lucky for him since someone or something keeps moving his stuff around. After several nights of being tormented by a being in the house, Tom comes face to face with BAD BEN
In an effort to provide a more balanced and nuanced viewpoint on all things found-footage, the boys bring in film critic and fellow podcaster Mary Beth McAndrews. Mary Beth reveals her role in the upcoming UFF24hr livestream event and lists a few of her favorite FF deep cuts. In the intro, Randy reviews an Oscar nominated film, Clark reviews Human Centipede 3 (not nominated for an Oscar) and Russ brings it home with the lineup for this year's Unnamed Footage Festival happening March 26-27th. Films: The Fear Footage 3am (2021), The Banishing (2020), The Toll (2020), Nobody (2021), The Wrestler (2008), A History of Violence (2005), Basket Case (1982), Collective (2019), Slaxx (2020), The Triangle (2016), Formula 1: Drive to Survive (tv), The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) (2015), The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) (2011), The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009), In Fabric (2018), The Duke of Burgandy, I Blame Society (2020), 1974: La posesión de Altair (2016), Space Clown (2016), Reel 2 (2020), Long Pigs (2007), I Am Sophie (2020), Charlotte's Net (2021), Dwellers (2021), Holy Shit that Was Scary Part 3: The Cloud (2021), The Flower Tapes (2020), Poser (2021), 0s & 1s (2011), Fake Blood (2017), Descent Into Darkness: My European Nightmare (2013), Murder Death Koreatown (2020), The Video Diary of Madi O, Final Entries (2012), The Secret of NIMH (1982), Bad Ben (2016), Mockingbird (2014), Crone Wood (2016), Webcast (2018), The Blackwell Ghost (2017), Watchmen (2009), Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021), As Above, So Below (2014), Hangman (2015), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), Blair Witch (2016) Tickets for UFF24hr are now available at UnnamedFootageFestival.com ! Nearly two years ago on episode 28, we introduced filmmaker Nigel Bach and his film "Bad Ben". Since that interview, Nigel has made four more features and an animated short. We play catch-up with Nigel and listen to him rant. On everything. We had no control over this episode and we didn't want it. Welcome to the Nigel Bach Hour. We held on to this interview because we thought it was the perfect tiding of Christmas joy that we all need. Happy Holidays, lollipops. On this very special BONUS episode of the podcast, Greg is joined by friend of the show Ryan Cunningham for an interview with the very funny, very awesome Nigel Bach, who wrote, directed, produced, edited and starred in the Bad Ben trilogy. The films, including a 30 minute making of the trilogy, are available to stream for free on Amazon Prime Video. Nigel tells us how he got the idea for Bad Ben, how he made a film for only $300, his version of the Jersey Devil wives' tale and, of course, why he is now banned from commenting on Amazon's review pages. Nigel is an incredibly humble & funny guy; we had a TON of fun talking to him about his story from serving our country to making a found footage, horror trilogy. BE PREPARED TO LAUGH! Writer/Director/Producer/Editor/Star of Bad Ben, Nigel Bach, speaks with a very excited cast of the Overlook Hour about how his $300 found footage film has become an Amazon Instant hit! This conversation was recorded a week ago and who knew that as Nigel was praising Amazon for the service it provides for amatur film makers, that Amazon was simultaneously sending emails to indie horror directors saying that their film would be pulled on March 1st as part of a new instant streaming content policy.... The Creatures also briefly speak about Get Out. Obesity surgery can induce strong responses in healthcare professionals. These biases must be overcome to allow efficient and safe services. The obese patient presents some challenges to the anaesthetist, some of which are underestimated, others overestimated. Building a team to deliver a new service presented significant obstacles which were overcome successfully to deliver complex surgery in high risk patients with a medical length of stay of 36 hours, and a minimal complication rate.
This week Ben and I are joined by Front End (or is that Front-End) developer Clive Walker to talk about Perch CMS. We have a lot of positive things to say about it, it's powerful and flexible, but easy to use. We also talk about Perch's many free add-ons, including the recently added Perch Shop e-commerce platform. Just so you know, we're not being sponsored by Perch, we just really like it. It's become my CMS of choice, and I reckon it's well worth trying out. Clive also tells us about the Perchology newsletter, which contains all sorts of goodies for Perch developers, and the Horsham Co-Working project. Clive's Toolstar is Curated, an app for putting together a digest newsletter, which Clive uses to create the Perchology newsletter. My Jukebox choice this time is a solid gold classic, Teardrop by Massive Attack. Clive's pick is Big Calm, the whole album, by Morcheeba (we'll pick a track for the playlist). Ben didn't have a track this week, Bad Ben! Clive and my tracks will be added to the Relative Paths Alt Playlist.
