Hello Geeks and Nerds, and welcome to Front End Chatter, Britain's Bestular Biking Podcast with him, me, and me, him. Or is it the other way round? Stick to the script!  Anyway, your erstwhile hosts @SimonHbikes and @Mufga are, as always, indebted and in balls-deep with Bennetts, Britain's Bestular Bike Insurers, as voted for by the residents of Mavis Enderby for the fifth year running – and the quietly awesome bikesocial.co.uk, populated with over 6000 pages of news, views and reviews. On the pod this fortnight we have words on:  • Ducati's new V4 Panigale and the absence of a singularly-sided swingarm • possibly Ducati's final V2 sportsbike, the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition (the clue's in the name) • the ongoing KTM cam drama • the very quickly and efficiently executed Suzuki V-Strom 800DE recall (that's how ya do it lads) • Bennetts BikeSocial new Bike Club (don't call it a forum but it is, no shame in that, I use them all the time) • Kawasaki's hydrogen-powered prototype, and why we shouldn't take it too seriously because a) it'll never be practical and b) it's probably a corporate vanity project anyway • Yamaha's decision to put their new auto-transmission on an MT-09, and will it wheelie?  • ...which we discover Harley's LiveWire Costa Del Sol is more than capable of... • plus loads of your FECsack emails containing thoughts, musings, amusing, ponderances and preponderances – sent in to: anything@frontendchatter.com  Thanks for your ears, and if you fancy two days riding around with Simon H (and Simon Weir) on the Road Test Experience, go to roadtestexperience.co.uk and sign up!

Alexandra Rico-Lloyd is one of the UK's circular economy entrepreneurs, and is passionate about inspiring the next generation to get active and outdoors. Alexandra says there are over 12.5 million unused kids bikes, just in the UK. That spurred her on to create Bike Club back in 2016, to provide a better way to cycle; better for the environment, better for parents and their children. Bike Club has revolutionised the traditional model of ownership, aiming to change family cycling forever. It's had over $40million of funding and reached 40,000 cyclists so far, and Bike Club says that makes it the largest micro mobility network in the UK - larger than Uber and Santander Cycles (what we used to call Boris Bikes). Alexandra, who was recently listed in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, shares the story of how the Bike Club grew from a self-funded ‘minimum viable proposition', with a few bikes packed into an attic spare room. She explains how it's delivering deeper levels of value for customers, and how its collaboration with one of the UK's leading retailers has opened up its next development phase.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health refers to our emotional and social wellbeing and impacts how we think, feel, and behave. It plays a key role in connecting with others, making decisions, handling stress, and many other aspects of daily life. Our Featured Staff and Students are our Evergreen Bike Club. Since 2009, current Liberty High School head custodian John Sarrazin has been running an after-school Bike Club for middle school students. For many years, the club was held at Poynter Middle School, but due to renovations at Poynter starting in 2019, he moved his operation to Evergreen Middle School and continues to run the club there. Mr. Sarrazin takes in old bikes from the Hillsboro Police Department, community, staff members, and club participants, and teaches students how to repair and rebuild them. The refurbished bikes are then given away to students in need. The goals of the club are to help students with math, teach them valuable and practical skills, and allow them to give back to the community through service. The club is currently in need of bicycles, parts, monetary donations, and volunteers! If you have a donation or are interested in helping out, please contact Mr. Sarrazin. hsd.k12.or.us

A decentralised cycling club with members from all over the world, happily chatting away online about their shared love of all things bike… sounds great, right? Almost a little bit like what the original idea for road.cc was when we started out way back in 2008! It's sort of what the founders of Bike Club NFT say they have started; however, if you add in the word ‘NFT' and require members to buy in using the controversial cryptocurrency known as Ethereum, it turns out you risk making half of Cycling Twitter very mad indeed. In this episode, Jack and Ryan speak to Bike Club NFT founders Tyler Benedict and Richard Mitchelson (better known as Rich Mitch) to establish what the hell NFTs are, and why they've decided to base their virtual bike club around something that the cycling community seems pretty damn unhappy with on the whole. Is it a financially irresponsible and environmentally damaging idea as some are claiming, or are we cyclists just luddites resistant to change?
