We're joined for this episode by Andy's cousin Sally Alington. By day she is the Founder and CEO of Ethos Farm and high flying business woman, at the weekends she loves going for a drive in her Ford Mustang... A car that was not at all influenced by her parents choices, except perhaps for the fact they named her Sally!Expect stories of matresses in the back of Mini vans, a Citroen 2CV with a roll back roof (which Sally and her brother Luke would stand up and look out through). There's talk of a carpet cleaning business (hence the mini Van) and Sally's Mum Angela gets lots of airtime, having previously worked as a London Taxi Driver. Her Nan is also a key part to this episode, choosing to leave her keys in her car so she wouldn't lose them in the house - in fact leaving them in the ignition, but hiding them behind a winter glove! Lastly we finish on tales of holiday hire cars, a free Porsche wedding car and a Business Class day trip to New York with her Dad for her 13th birthday. We hope you enjoy this one, and please leave us a review if you do. Ford's Jim Farley is hedging his ICE bets, as the company recently split their ICE and EV businesses into separate divisions. It's not over by a long shot. The Citroen 2CV looks like a snail on wheels but is slightly slower. Some really ugly cars are still cool. Some really cool cars are actually surface renditions of some not-that-great cars. The guys choose cars that share platforms and thus DNA. We pick the winners, the losers, and those that make you beg for bad eyesight. Adams gets the instructions wrong, but still fulfills his word count. Do you agree with their choice? Which ones did we miss? One car in this episode gets called 'The Dylan Mulveney of the line up.' Citroen 2CV 4x4 Sahara
The Citroen 2CV was built for rural peasants, became a cultural export, and even pissed off the Nazis. But which model is the best? And what does Steve's French accent sound like? All this and more on today's Best In Class.
Just a decade ago the sky was blue, the sun shone every day and you could buy any car you wanted for sixpence. So why didn't we? This week, Mike joins Tony again to kick off the new series by dwelling on the recent past! All the cars we could have bought – nee should have bought and a few that we're glad we didn't. That, plus much more of course, in this week's Car-Chum.
A new take on a variety show this week for CarChum. It started out as cars that just missed the mark, but ended up with a Skoda Felicia Pickup and a couple of average travel guides. And then there's motorbikes, trains, busses and lorries. Probably the only things missing are planes.

We're going retro this episode, reminiscing about our first cars (Steve's progressed a little from his Citroen 2CV!) and delving between the well worn covers of Nigel Slater's Real Cooking. visit: www.issimi.comWhere is the geographic center of gravity of the automobile industry? And what is a geographic center of gravity anyway? In this episode, Jason and Derek discuss the idea that there’s a country at any given time that dominates the automotive industry, either in terms of technical innovation or marketplace impact. Jason suggests that it currently lies in Korea, and explains how Kia and Hyundai are breaking genuine ground, but also argues that there’s a shift happening back to America for the first time in many decades. But not to Detroit. The pair then explore the ways in which various countries have pushed the envelope of the automotive industry at various times, for example Japan with their sport compacts such as the Honda CRX and Prelude, Acura Integra, Nissan Sentra SE-R, and Nissan Pulsar, as well as the critical decision to design cars specifically for the American market, and build them here too such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. They also discuss the various cars which mobilized entire countries including the Ford Model T, Volkswagen Beetle, Fiat 500, Citroen 2CV, and Mini.As far as America goes, the pair must return to the years before World War 2 to find genuine American technical innovation in the cars themselves, the Duesenberg Model J, for example, but the postwar market segmentation and marketing genius in America also receives honorable mention. Meanwhile, the pair asks whether and when countries like England, France, and Italy ever represented the center of the automotive universe and if so, when? And naturally, with this pair, a discussion of German cars is inevitable as well. The Carmudgeon Show is a comedic, information-filled conversation with Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott, two car enthusiasts who are curmudgeonly beyond their years. Proving you don’t have to be old to be grumpy, they spend each episode talking about what’s wrong with various parts of the automotive universe. Despite their best efforts to keep it negative, they usually wind up laughing, happy, and extolling their love for cars. Which just makes them angrier and more bitter.ISSIMI is an enthusiast-owned, full-service specialist offering sales, consignment, collection management, service, and consulting to discerning enthusiasts and collectors. Specializing in complex transactions that include international services for exceptional cars, ISSIMI’s San Francisco Bay Area and Europe-based teams of experts pride themselves on transparency and knowledge.Jason Cammisa is an automotive journalist, social-media figure, and TV host with over 250 million views on YouTube alone. Jason’s deeply technical understanding, made possible by a lifelong obsession with cars, allows him to fully digest what’s going on within an automobile — and then put it into simple terms for others to understand. Also, a Master’s Degree in Law trained him to be impossible to argue with.Derek Tam-Scott still tries. He’s a young automotive expert with old-man taste in cars, and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering — which means he knows how to be civil to Jason. Or at least he tries. With a decade and a half’s experience buying, selling, driving and brokering classic and exotic cars, he’s experienced the world’s most iconic cars. And hated most of them.Support the show (http://www.issimi.com)

In this episode, fourth generation removal man, Geoff Archer, discusses how, even though P.W. Archer & Son is a family firm, he had to go and get a job before returning with his worldly experience of work. We discuss how P.W. Archer & Son was started by Percy William Archer and his brother Horace in May 1920, where they drove to Darlington to buy ice, which they then sold back in Northallerton to butchers, ice cream parlours and anyone else that wanted ice. And how centenary celebrations have sadly been put on hold due to the current pandemic. We discuss challenges from the past, one being during the time of his forefathers, the Second World War, and how he couldn't imagine that someone could come walking through the door and cut the company by two thirds due to nationalisation! And the biggest challenge in his living memory was Black Wednesday in the 90's. Geoff controversially talks about how he would change the moving industry by bringing in tachographs and O-licences for anything hire & reward. We cover framework agreements, one of Geoff's high points to date, showing that a small family firm can compete with the big boys. Outside of the industry we discover Geoff's passion for Citroen 2CV's. And as always, we end Moving Matters with some funny moving stories, one I am sure all removers will relate to regarding addresses, and I dare you not to laugh when you hear about Steve! Enjoy! Ever wondered what it’s like to start a beer company in your 20s, export to 50 countries and reach an annual retail turnover of £178 million? (and get knighted in the process too). Join TELL Series on Wednesday 20 April in welcoming Lord Karan Bilimoria, founder of Cobra Beer. Karan founded Cobra at 27 when he was a Cambridge law graduate with £20,000 in student debts. He delivered beer in an old Citroen 2CV, while his friends worked for the likes of the Goldman Sachs. Since then, Cobra has become one of the fastest growing beer brands with offices in 4 continents, serving 50 countries. Within the UK alone, Cobra has a current retail value turnover of £178 million, is sold in nearly 6,000 bars, pubs and clubs and in over 12,000 branches of supermarkets and off-licenses throughout the UK. Cobra Beer also went through its trials and tribulations. Karan almost lost the brand several times in the past years, especially during the 2008 financial crisis when Cobra lost out on key investments. Ever the undeterred entrepreneur, Karan persevered and Cobra has been on a roaring comeback ever since. Competing against brands that are centuries old, Cobra has become a household name in less than two decades. Cobra beer has won numerous accolades and Karan himself was appointed as a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 2004. He also won EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003 and Business Person of the Year by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2004. In 2006, Karan was appointed The Lord Bilimoria, of Chelsea. His talk at London Business School is part of the 2015-2016 Tell Series talks and it was recorded on 20 April 2016 at London Business School.
