All'evento di Mirafiori viene presentata la nuova Fiat 500 ibrida, modello sul quale il ceo di Stellantis Antonio Filosa punta insieme alla Jeep Compass di Melfi per aumentare i volumi produttivi in Italia. Filosa rivendica il rispetto del "Piano Italia", con l'avvio del secondo turno e 400 nuove assunzioni, sottolineando che la 500 ibrida risponde alla domanda dei clienti e contribuisce al rinnovo del parco auto europeo. Il piano industriale prevede oltre 2 miliardi di investimenti negli stabilimenti italiani nel 2025, 6 miliardi in forniture e nuovi modelli nei siti nazionali, mentre negli Stati Uniti Stellantis investirà 13 miliardi di dollari per aumentare la produzione del 50%. Il ministro Urso si dice soddisfatto dei progressi, ringrazia Stellantis per aver evitato licenziamenti e paragona la situazione italiana a quella tedesca, dove si registrano chiusure e tagli. In occasione della presentazione, Urso insiste sulla necessità di modificare le norme europee sull'auto e indica il 10 dicembre come la data decisiva per rivedere il percorso di decarbonizzazione e superare la politica del solo elettrico. Bruxelles potrebbe avviare l'iter per abolire il bando alle nuove auto benzina e diesel nel 2035, ammettendo ibride plug-in, range extender, idrogeno, carburanti sintetici e biocarburanti, richiesti dalla filiera italiana e da trenta associazioni europee che chiedono che vengano inclusi nella normativa sulle emissioni di CO2 per contribuire comunque agli obiettivi climatici. Luigi muss nach Hause. Luigi ist ein kleiner, charmanter Fiat 500, Baujahr 1967. Sein Besitzer, der Fotograf Martin Buschmann, ist mit dem Oldtimer bis in dessen Heimat Sizilien getuckert. Auf der Reise wurde er allerdings von einer unerwarteten Flut technischer Pannen begleitet. Doch trotz aller Hürden bleibt Luigi ein Herzensbrecher: Überall auf den Straßen erntet er bewundernde Blicke und sogar Applaus. Este podcast es algo así como “Las Olimpiadas de los utilitarios”. Hablamos de los coches que motorizaron países como Alemania, España, Francia o Italia: Citroën 2CV, Fiat 500, Seat 600 y VW escarabajo. Coches todos ellos con una fuerte personalidad, pero… ¿cuál era el mejor? Esta comparativa va a ser complicada. Y os lo anticipo: Hay ganador y perdedor… que no os gustarán a todos... Estos cuatro coches tienen varios rasgos en común: El primero, su fuerte personalidad, aunque es cierto que unos más que otros… El segundo rasgo, que han sido modelos claves en la historia porque permitieron motorizar a los países donde se fabricaban y, en algunos casos, a otros. Tercero, tuvieron muy larga vida, por eso, aunque cada uno tuvo su momento de gloria, en algunos mercados y durante algún tiempo, fueron rivales en los concesionarios. Vamos a ver, lo primero, la línea temporal de estos cuatro modelos.Por orden alfabético, comenzamos con el Citroën 2 CV que nace en 1948 aunque de un diseño previo a la Segunda Guerra Mundial y se fabrica nada menos que hasta 1990. El Fiat 500 con motor posterior nace en 1957, aunque hubo uno anterior con motor delantero y propulsión posterior, denominado por los italianos, “topolino”, o sea, “ratoncito”. Se mantiene a la venta durante 18 años, hasta 1975. El Seat 600 nace como Fiat en 1955 y se fabrica, en Italia, hasta 1969… en otros países su vida se alarga mucho más, hasta 1995. El Seat 600 propiamente dicho nace en 1957 y se vende durante 16 años, hasta 1973. Por último, el VW “Escarabajo” más correctamente denominado, Tipo 1, nace en 1938, aunque de verdad comienza a venderse a particulares al finalizar la guerra, en 1945 o aún más tarde. En Alemania se vende hasta 1978, en otros mercados, como México, llegaron incluso al 2003. Os evito que hagáis números, ya los hago yo por vosotros: Entre 1957 y 1969 todos ellos coincidieron en Europa en diversos países… No voy a repetir lo del pliego de condiciones del 2CV, la cesta de huevos y el sembrado… en GH hemos hecho al menos tres vídeos donde contamos estas cosas y mucho más, pero os recomiendo en especial “Citroën 2CV una suspensión muy especial” y nuestro video de “historia ficción” titulado “Cuando los nazis descubrieron el Citroën 2CV”. Era un modelo muy avanzado para su tiempo, con tracción delantera, centro de gravedad muy bajo, motor bicilíndrico bóxer refrigerado por aire, unas suspensiones que lo hacían muy apto para caminos y un consumo ridículo. A cambio, las prestaciones no eran su punto fuerte, pero no nos engañemos: Estos cuatro modelos ninguno puede presumir de buenas prestaciones. A diferencia de los otros tres coches de esta comparativa Vintage, el “Cinquecento” nace con vocación os diría casi exclusivamente urbana. Fue un todo atrás con un bicilíndrico en línea de unos 500 cm3 y apenas 15 CV. Lo más importante, su longitud ni siquiera llegaba a los 3 metros, se quedaba en 2.970 mm, lo que repercutía en la habitabilidad, pero permitía una manejabilidad en la ciudad espectacular. A diferencia del 500, el 600 era un coche familiar… sí, era mucho más grande, crecía de menos de 3 metros hasta los 3,3… siguen siendo pocos, pero es un 10 por ciento más. Y os aseguro que esos 30 cm. más, en tema de habitabilidad interior, marcaban la diferencia. Contaba con un motor ya serio, un 4 cilindros en línea refrigerado por agua, de 633 cm3 y 21,5 CV en sus primeras versiones que llegaron a sobrepasar los 30 CV en las últimas. Se simplifico todo tanto que no tenía ni calefacción decente, simplemente se dejaba pasar el aire del vano motor al habitáculo, mezclado con vapores de aceite y gasolina… un seguro de mareo. Como todos sabéis a estas alturas, porque sois muy listos y sabéis mucho de coches, el Escarabajo, cuyo nombre verdadero era “Tipo 1” fue un encargo de Hitler a Ferdinand Porsche para hacer un “Volkswagen”, en español, un “coche del pueblo”. El motor era un 4 cilindros bóxer inicialmente de un litro de cilindrada y 22,5 CV a 3.200 rpm. El motor, a lo largo de la vida de este modelo no dejo de crecer en cilindrada, hasta llegar a los 1,6 litros. El motor era trasero y el chasis era separado, lo que ha hecho de este modelo ideal para hacer versiones diferentes, en particular, los bonitos Buggies que nacieron con esta mecánica. El diseño no era muy moderno ni nada excepcional, pero la calidad de fabricación sí, y eso hizo de este modelo un coche muy duro y longevo. Y vamos ahora con la clasificación del último, el cuarto, al primero. Para mí el menos bueno de todos es el Fiat 500, un coche perfecto para ciudad… pero prácticamente solo para ciudad. Su especialización es lo que le vale caer a este último puesto, aun siendo un extraordinario coche. El tercer puesto es para el Fiat-Seat 600. Es menos robusto que los demás, con un confort escaso y un comportamiento rayando lo peligroso. Su mayor virtud es que era lo que había… Subcampeón queda el VW, sobre todo por su calidad de fabricación, notable incluso cuando ves uno de estos coches hoy día. No solo es cuestión de ajustes o de buena mano de obra, sino calidad de materiales. Pero es pensado y hasta cierto punto, antiguo cuando se popularizó. ¡And the winner is! ¡El Citroën 2 CV! Y no, no es porque sea, lo confieso, “citroenista”, es que este diseño, realmente de 1938, era fantástico y adelantado a su tiempo. Para mí al 2CV le faltó una verdadera evolución, pues el Dyane 6 y otros derivados eran más de los mismo. Pero un 2CV más ancho, algo más largo, con motores más potentes, hubiese sido un duro rival y aún más longevo… ¿una idea para un video de “historia-ficción”? ¿Qué os parece?

Más bien vamos a hacer una “comparativa inapropiada” … ya veréis por qué. Cuando nos referimos al Fiat 500 o “Cinquecento” generalmente todos pensamos en el Fiat 500 de motor trasero aparecido en 1957 con el nombre de “Nuova 500” … quizás los más jóvenes, como yo, pensaremos en el modelo actual… Pero hubo un 500 anterior que en general se le conoce más que por la cifra de 500 o Cinquecento por el apelativo cariñoso y divertido, “Topolino”, lo que en España sería algo así como “Ratoncito”. El Topolino fue diseñado por el genial Dante Giacosa y apareció antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, en 1936. Su producción estuvo prácticamente detenida durante la contienda y se reanudó hasta 1955. Pero el diseño se había quedado anticuado. El Topolino era muy pequeño, en torno a 3 metros y era casi biplaza. Se necesitaba un coche igual de pequeño, pero de 4/5 plazas y de diseño más moderno. Así que pidieron a Dante Giacosa que se pusiera manos a la obra para buscar un sustituto al “Topolino”. Si eres de los que cree que el sustituto del 500 fue la “Nuova 500” de 1957… pues te equivocas. Porque el relevo al 500 fue el 600 aparecido dos años antes, un coche que conseguía tener 4 plazas en solo 3,20 m y que contaba con un motor de 4 cilindros, 603 cm3, 21 CV y refrigeración líquida. Lo cierto es que Giacosa dio en diana a la primera, pues si ves el prototipo del primer 600 podrás comprobar que es casi idéntico al modelo que se produjo después en Italia y en España. Tras años de diversos intentos por fin se crea una marca española… que, por cierto, parece que como marca fabricante de coches está a punto de desaparecer. Hemos hecho un vídeo sobre el tema… Y en 1957 la Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo comienza a fabricar el Seat 600, un auténtico “best-seller” que motorizó España y que era el sueño de una gran mayoría de españoles. Entre 1957 y 1973 se fabricaron en España casi 800.000 Seat 600, exactamente 799.419 de la que se estiman que quedan “vivas” en circulación nada menos que unas 10.000. Mientras tanto las complicadas ciudades italianas son el “hábitat” ideal para un vehículo muy italiano: La Vespa. Y tras ella, otros muchos Scooter. Son baratos y rápidos, pero si llueve te mojas, no puedes llevar mucho equipaje y tienen el riesgo que conllevan los vehículos de 2 ruedas. Se puede decir que la “Nuova 500” nace en 1957 con la intención de competir con los Scooter que de encontrar un lugar por debajo del 600. La idea era hacer un coche práctico, muy económico de compra y mantenimiento y de orientación urbana… como decimos, claramente un segundo coche. Los que antes tenían su coche “bueno” y además un scooter para la ciudad, seguían con su coche bueno y un 500 para moverse por las calles… El coche no podía ser más sencillo: Motor bicilíndrico refrigerado por aire, 479 cm3 y unos 15 CV para un peso de apenas 500 kg. Y el tamaño... ¡menos de 3 metros! Supuestamente era un 4 plazas, pero creedme, he llevado más de uno y para meter 4 personas en ese coche hay que ser muy sufridos… o muy pequeños. Lo que fue un acierto fue su estética porque fue un coche que gustó mucho en su momento, pero al que los años le han sentado de maravilla. Decíamos al comienzo que esta comparativa más que “imposible”, que fue y es muy posible, es inapropiada. Porque claramente el 500 es un coche de entorno urbano con unas prestaciones muy modestas, con poco más de 90 km/h de máxima. Pero con un consumo de apenas 5 litros y una manejabilidad insuperable. A su lado el 600 es un cochazo. Más grande por fuera y por dentro, con casi el doble de potencia, entre 25 y 28 CV frente a los 15 CV del 500, y una punta que superaba, según versiones con cierta holgura, los 100 km/h. No quiero dejar de hablar de las múltiples versiones especiales que tuvo el Fiat-Seat 600. Un “Made in Spain” fue el 800, una versión alargada y de 4 puertas que no tuvo parangón en ningún otro país. En España, en series cortas o artesanalmente, se hicieron muchos 60 especiales, como el Milton o el Rany. En Italia no me quiero olvidar de dos versiones, que llegaron a España, que son el Multipla… ¡el predecesor de otro mito! Y el Formichetta o furgoneta, como el que pudimos ver y probar en nuestra visita a la colección de “Seat en rodaje” ... donde, ya os adelanto, que tenemos pensado volver. El resultado de esta comparativa está claro: Para las ciudades italianas, aun hoy, un 500 sigue siendo un coche ideal y se ha convertido en un verdadero mito. El papel que jugó el 600 en España fue muy diferente, pero ha conseguido lo mismo, que el llamado cariñosamente “pelotilla” sea un coche mítico y muy querido…

Either they will have damage, or a rebuilt title, very high mileage or some other issues that keep the price low. Occasionally can find a decent example within this range, but it will be rare. $9000 to $11,000 - Things get interesting in this price range. There is good value here and occasionally great value, but it may take more time to find the best examples in this range. $12,000 to $14,000 - This is the sweet spot and I think you will find your best values in this range.$15,000 to $18,000 - This is a no-brainer price range.
