Die aktuellen Automobilkurznachrichten mit Michael Weyland   Thema heute: Toyota Gazoo Racing präsentiert „GR LH2 Racing Concept”     Gazoo Racing ebnet den Weg für den emissionsfreien Rennsport: Mit dem „GR LH2 Racing Concept“ präsentierte die Toyota Motorsport-Tochter im Rahmen der 24 Stunden von Le Mans am vergangenen Wochenende im „H2 Village“ des Automobile Club de l'Ouest einen mit Flüssigwasserstoff betriebenen Rennwagen als Prototyp. Das leistungsstarke Konzeptfahrzeug basiert auf dem Hypercar Toyota GR010 Hybrid, mit dem das Team am Langstreckenklassiker und an der kompletten FIA Langstrecken-Weltmeisterschaft (WEC) teilnimmt. Mit Test- und Demonstrationsfahrten des GR LH2 Racing Concept auf verschiedenen Rennstrecken will Toyota zur kontinuierlichen Weiterentwicklung der Wasserstofftechnologie und -infrastruktur beitragen – und so die Möglichkeiten von Wasserstoff im Motorsport aufzeigen. Intensive Forschung und Erprobung Damit setzt der Mobilitätskonzern eine langjährige Tradition fort: Angetrieben vom eigenen Anspruch, immer bessere Autos zu bauen und CO2-Neutralität voranzutreiben, nutzt Toyota den Motorsport, um Technologien dem ultimativen Härtetest zu unterziehen und weiterzuentwickeln. Hierzu gehört auch der Wasserstoffmotor, dessen Potenzial in verschiedenen Serien erfolgreich getestet und aufgezeigt wurde – zum Beispiel bei der Rallye Ypern im Rahmen der FIA Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft (WRC) 2022 und in der japanischen Super Taikyu Langstreckenserie. Der dort gemeinsam mit Rookie Racing eingesetzte Corolla nutzte zunächst gasförmigen Wasserstoff, bevor ab 2023 Flüssigwasserstoff verwendet wurde.  Ypern ist übrigens eine Stadt in der Region Flandern in Belgien. Im Jahr 2023 absolvierte der Corolla mit Wasserstoffmotor eine Demonstrationsrunde auf dem Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans. Parallel dazu präsentierte Toyota mit dem GR H2 Racing Concept ein Konzeptfahrzeug mit Wasserstoffmotor, das mit Blick auf künftige Wettbewerbe und eine mögliche Wasserstoffkategorie in Le Mans konzipiert wurde. Seitdem wurde die Entwicklung kontinuierlich fortgesetzt und intensiviert. Gemeinsam mit Partnern hat das Unternehmen darüber hinaus Produktion, Transport und Nutzung von Wasserstoff inner- und außerhalb der Branche beschleunigt. Das zukunftsweisende GR LH2 Racing Concept markiert die jüngste Evolutionsstufe. Die Präsentation am Circuit de la Sarthe ist Teil der Feierlichkeiten, mit denen Toyota anlässlich seines ersten Le-Mans-Starts vor 40 Jahren auf Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft blickt. New Zealand motor racing driver Brendon Hartley is stunned by the quality of competition heading into this weekend's Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. The prestigious race has been operating since 1928 and the winner is the car that travels the greatest distance in a 24-hour period around the 13.6km circuit. The biggest names in vehicle manufacturing are taking part —with Genesis, Ford and McLaren joining the party next year— and Hartley says the level of driver is insane. En este episodio platicamos con el especialista de planeación de producto de Toyota de México para conocer más sobre el nuevo Toyota GR Yaris 2025, que estrena potencia y mejoras importantes en su performance.  Se trata de un auto que se ha desarrollado detrás de la experiencia de la marca en el automovilismo junto con TOYOTA GAZOO Racing en el Campeonato Mundial de Rally, es una muestra que tiene la marca de llevar emociones auténticas al volante, compartiendo el espíritu del "Waku Doki", que simboliza nuestra pasión por la adrenalina.  Este GR Yaris cuenta con un motor tricilíndrico turbo de 1.6 L, GR Yaris 2025 aumenta su potencia máxima ahora con 296 HP y un torque de 295 lb-pie, permitiendo alcanzar de 0 a 100 km/h en solo 5.2 segundos, y alcanzando una velocidad máxima de 230 km/h. Este modelo incorpora GR-FOUR, el primer sistema de tracción deportiva de Toyota, que ahora permite tres tipos de configuraciones: Normal, Track, y el nuevo Gravel que entrega la máxima tracción en caminos de alta o baja adherencia. Llega a México en tres colores inspirados en el equipo TOYOTA GAZOO Racing: Blanco, Rojo y Negro. Y está limitado a solo 150 unidades, tiene un precio de $769,000 pesos

Lucas Moraes het sneltrajek 7 vir die Toyota Gazoo Racing-renspan gewen, maar Henk Lategan en Brett Cummings se algehele voorsprong, het tot slegs 21 sekondes gekrimp, deur geen fout van hul eie nie. Hulle het 'n baie uitdagende kontrolepunt aan die begin van die sneltrajek gevind, wat hulle 'n duidelike voorsprong oor hul mededingers gegee het. In motorsport is die slegte nuus vanaf Dakar 2025 dat Giniel de Villiers en sy navigator, Dirk von Zitzewitz, uit die tydren is. Von Zitzewitz het erge nekpyn tydens die sesde skof ervaar en die mediese span het beslis dis te riskant vir hom om voort te gaan. Dit was De Villiers se 22ste en laaste agtereenvolgende Dakar-tydren. Toyota Gazoo Racing se Henk Lategan en navigator Brett Cummings het die algehele voorsprong behou in die sesde skof. Dit is ten spyte daarvan dat hulle 3 minute, 1 sekonde afgestaan het aan Yazeed Al Rajhi en Timo Gottschalk, wat in die tweede plek is in hul privaat ingeskrewe Toyota Hilux. Lategan is aan die woord.

Carlos Sainz se ongeluk met sy Ford Raptor tydens die Dakar het Sondag die nuus gehaal. Dit het plaasgevind tydens die veelgevreesde 48-uur Chrono-sneltrajek wat in wese twee sneltrajekte in een is en oor opeenvolgende dae strek, maar sonder die voordeel van tegniese hulp tussenin. Toyota Gazoo Racing se Guy Botterill was kort op sy hakke en het berg geklim om sein te kry en ‘n stemnota via WhatsApp te stuur.

It was a furious charge at the end of the race from Sebastien Buemi that led the #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing team of himself, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa to not only take a dramatic victory at WEC's Championship finale at the 8 Hours of Bahrain but also winning the Manufacturer's Championship in the process, preventing a clean sweep of the titles for Porsche. Kevin Turner and Gary Watkins sit down for the last time this season and discuss the thrilling finale that decided the race. The duo also talks about the crowning of the Drivers Champions in Porsche's #6 crew of Andre Lotterer, Kevin Estre, and Laurens Vanthoor and the shock demotion of Ferrari off the podium for a bizarre rule breach on tyres used over the weekend, promoting Peugeot onto the podium as a result. Toyota Gazoo Racing's Kalle Rovanperä is one of the brightest young talents in Motorsport having rewritten the World Rally Championship record books, becoming the youngest ever champion aged 22 in 2022. Last year he joined an elite group of drivers to defend the crown that include Juha Kankkunen, Miki Biasion, Tommi Makinen, Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier. The Finn may be familiar for tackling the world toughest roads but this year he is expanding his motorsport horizons, dovetailing a part-time WRC campaign with a move into circuit racing. As Americans have begun to make their mark in the Dakar Rally over recent years, few have more potential to become long-term icons of the event, or the sport of rally raid, than Seth Quintero. Dominant in American desert racing as a teenager, winning events from the Mint 400 to the UTV World Championship, Quintero earned the call from Red Bull to compete on a global stage for the first time in 2020, and he debuted at Dakar in 2021. In his first two Dakars, he won 18 combined stages in the Light Prototype class, including a record 12 in 2022, before finally scoring his first overall podium with a second place last year.
