The World's Outraged by a Stolen Wombat… So Why Aren't the Vegans Rejoicing?? Written by Clare Mann at VeganPsychologist.com. “The public are horrified and saying this must be stopped. So why aren't vegans rejoicing that the masses appear to be concerned? Why don't we feel there is hope that the world is waking up?” Learn why in today's episode written by Vegan Psychologist Clare Mann.  #vegan #plantbased #plantbasedbriefing #vystopia #animalabuse #cognitivedissonance   ========================== Original post: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/worlds-outraged-stolen-wombat-so-why-arent-vegans-rejoicing-mann-w9enc  Book: Vystopia The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World: https://veganpsychologist.com/step/vystopia-book-landing/  Book: Myths of Choice - Why People Won't Change and What You Can Do About It: https://veganpsychologist.com/step/myths-of-choice-details/    ========================= Clare Mann is a vegan psychologist, communications skills trainer and the author of several books, including Vystopia: The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non Vegan World. Why Are Vegetarians So Much Nicer Than Vegans? Written by Clare Mann at VeganPsychologist.com. “When someone has made a lot of effort to accommodate the vegan, why are so many vegans unhappy and won't just get on with their meal and leave others to theirs?  Most vegetarians and those on a plant-based diet seem perfectly at ease around others without having to convert them. Vegans, on the other hand, just can't keep quiet about what other people are doing.” Learn why in today's episode written by Vegan Psychologist Clare Mann.  #vegan #plantbased #plantbasedbriefing #vystopia #liberationpledge #animalabuse #compassion #ethics #veganism ========================== Original post: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-vegetarians-so-much-nicer-than-vegans-clare-mann-1aysc/  Book: Vystopia The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World: https://veganpsychologist.com/step/vystopia-book-landing/  ============ Related Episodes:    ========================= Clare Mann is a vegan psychologist, communications skills trainer and the author of several books, including Vystopia: The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non Vegan World. It's been quite the journey, publishing episodes every weekday for almost 4 years. Christine is currently pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and she brings her interest and expertise in self-healing and IFS therapy even to her fiction works, as demonstrated by the strong self-help component of her debut novel MARRYING MYSELF, which both entertains and inspires readers to fall in love with the world around them and, most of all, with themselves. Chrissy took the vegan leap in 2014 and quickly became a radical animal rights and health advocate. While veganism is not the primary focus of MARRYING MYSELF, it plays a key part in the plot and the ultimate "big reveal." In addition to simply telling a fun and entertaining tale of a fairytale romance gone awry, Chrissy makes little secret of her alternative agenda for Marrying Myself: normalizing veganism through the arts. You can learn more about Chrissy and her IFS coaching work at her website, https://christinemelaniebenson.com/ In the interest of fostering expanded self-love, Chrissy is currently at work on a companion self-help, self-love guide to Marrying Myself, titled Take the Leap with YOU! You can get a sneak peek at some of the topics and themes addressed in the book at this link to Chrissy's landmark self-love talk at an event she co-hosted with Dr. Will Tuttle in Nashville, Tennessee. There is a growing trend towards plant-based diets, including vegetarian and vegan diets, for health, environmental and animal welfare reasons. However, in a world where food is a deeply social activity, society often views vegans and vegetarians negatively because they disrupt social conventions related to food and make meat eaters question the morality of their diet.Research shows, that the stigma surrounding vegans is a barrier that inhibits dietary shifts towards planet-based diets, and that vegans often attempt to avoid this stigma by way of social and behavioural distancing. With this episode, our host Zehava Heinrich and guests: Clare Mann (https://www.veganpsychologist.com/), Michael Dello (http://www.michaeldello.com) and Donny Janks, seek to explore the stigma surrounding veganism to get to the bottom of what this social trend is actually all about.

In this week's episode we play you audio of the healthcare professional panel discussion including audience questions which was held after a screening of the documentary movie What The Health in Canberra at the National Film and Sound Archive on June 13th 2017. New Normal Project podcast co-host, Andrew Davies, was a member of the panel which included Robyn Chuter, a naturopath and nutritionist from Sydney, Clare Mann, a psychologist and author from Sydney, and Stephanie Dakin, a General Practitioner trainee doctor from Canberra. Caitriona Reed, a mentor and trainer of conscious entrepreneurs was the panel moderator. The event was organised and hosted by Lucy Stegley from Raw Events Australia, with co-hosts Vegan ACT, Animal Liberation ACT and Vegan Healthy Living Canberra. Raw Events Australia has been taking this movie, What The Health, to venues in many cities across Australia and New Zealand, thanks to the directors Keegan Kuhn and Kip Anderson. This extremely provacative and groundbreaking documentary movie is the follow-up film from the creators of the award-winning documentary Cowspiracy. The film exposes the collusion and corruption in government and big business that is costing us trillions of healthcare dollars, and keeping us sick. It uncovers the secret to preventing and even reversing chronic diseases, which is essentially a whole foods plant-based diet, and seems to be something the world's leading health organizations don't want people to know about. In great news this week we learned that the What The Health movie is now available on Netflix for all of us to share with our families and friends. Back in episode 4, we broadcast a similar panel from a screening in Melbourne, but as this was also an interesting and informative discussion we thought we’d bring this to you on the podcast. The audience was different and the panel members were different, so as you can expect the questions were quite different too. We covered the topics of whether the movie might be biased, how the economy might cope if a much larger number of people were plant-based eaters, how effective whole-foods plant-based nutrition is for inflammatory bowel disease, what effects sugars have on the microbiome and liver, whether the harmful effects of saturated fat have been exaggerated, whether there are whole-foods plant-based dietitians and nutritionists in Canberra, whether medical practitioner groups are trying to defuse the lobbies of big agriculture and big pharma, whether soy consumption can be a problem in thyroid disease, whether clean meat might be better than dirty plant foods and how someone starts a whole foods plant-based diet when they have just been convinced to do so by watching the movie. We also announce on the podcast an event called the New Normal Sunday which will be held in Melbourne in July 2017. This will include a run or walk, a yoga session, a short meditation and a green smoothie.

When existential psychologist Clare Mann was a child, her mother told her that her job was to love the unlovable. She grew up to become an existential psychologist and also to love teaching people to have the most difficult and crucial conversations of their lives. In this episode of MHP Clare shares some more of her mothers insights, explains why Bob Geldof was single-handedly responsible for her becoming a vegan, why businesses want to work with her and why she likens our present day solutions to climate change to putting a band aid on arterial bleeding. These days she finds herself not just running numerous communication programs for businesses, and working as a private therapist but also being sought out by animal and environmental empaths for her ability to truly understand some of the difficulties they face psychologically in a world which can sometimes seem overwhelmingly cruel.Clare Mann is a existential psychologist, best selling author of six books, and one of Australia’s key communications experts. She is the Editor In Chief of the digital business magazine Ethical Futures and the creator of a new app called Vegan Voices. You can learn more about Clare at: http://www.claremann.comhttps://communicate31.com
