The World's Outraged by a Stolen Wombat… So Why Aren't the Vegans Rejoicing?? Written by Clare Mann at VeganPsychologist.com. “The public are horrified and saying this must be stopped. So why aren't vegans rejoicing that the masses appear to be concerned? Why don't we feel there is hope that the world is waking up?” Learn why in today's episode written by Vegan Psychologist Clare Mann. #vegan #plantbased #plantbasedbriefing #vystopia #animalabuse #cognitivedissonance ========================== Original post: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/worlds-outraged-stolen-wombat-so-why-arent-vegans-rejoicing-mann-w9enc Book: Vystopia The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World: https://veganpsychologist.com/step/vystopia-book-landing/ Book: Myths of Choice - Why People Won't Change and What You Can Do About It: https://veganpsychologist.com/step/myths-of-choice-details/ ========================= Clare Mann is a vegan psychologist, communications skills trainer and the author of several books, including Vystopia: The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non Vegan World. The skills she acquired through a successful career as an organisational psychologist, university lecturer and speaker, are now applied to help vegans become confident, hopeful vegan conversationalists who are ushering in a kinder vegan world. Why Are Vegetarians So Much Nicer Than Vegans? Written by Clare Mann at VeganPsychologist.com. “When someone has made a lot of effort to accommodate the vegan, why are so many vegans unhappy and won't just get on with their meal and leave others to theirs? Most vegetarians and those on a plant-based diet seem perfectly at ease around others without having to convert them. Vegans, on the other hand, just can't keep quiet about what other people are doing.” Learn why in today's episode written by Vegan Psychologist Clare Mann. #vegan #plantbased #plantbasedbriefing #vystopia #liberationpledge #animalabuse #compassion #ethics #veganism ========================== Original post: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-vegetarians-so-much-nicer-than-vegans-clare-mann-1aysc/ Book: Vystopia The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World: https://veganpsychologist.com/step/vystopia-book-landing/ ============ Related Episodes: ========================= Clare Mann is a vegan psychologist, communications skills trainer and the author of several books, including Vystopia: The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non Vegan World. Episode 1000! Hidden Tool To Become A Happy, Easy-Going Vegan Despite What You Know, by Dr Clare Mann at VeganPsychologist.com. 1000 episodes, wow! It's been quite the journey, publishing episodes every weekday for almost 4 years. I love curating and narrating, with permission, articles written by experts on the myriad of reasons to live a plant based and vegan lifestyle. Delivering the articles in short audio format allows you to listen while doing other things. (And a huge thank you to Justin Malik at OldPodcast.com for the inspiration and help getting started.) In today's episode I share a sweet letter a listener sent for the 1000th episode and then an article from vegan Psychologist Clare Mann, a new contributor who was also instrumental in my journey with her book Vystopia and her Facebook support group. Research data obtained from animal experimentation and extrapolated to human conditions is unreliable and ineffective, and delays progress for human health. Animal-based research and teaching represents unnecessarily cruel, empirically compromised and unethical treatment of non-consenting sentient beings. The replacement of animals with validated non-animal methods will facilitate scientifically reliable, effective, empirically valid research outcomes. AFSA recognises that some research, such as observation of wild animals for conservation purposes, is non-invasive, and that in some circumstances, veterinary research or training can be conducted without harm to animals. Whilst we advocate for animal-free research, we accept that under very limited conditions, animal use may be permissible, when in the interests of the individual animal/s used in such research. Put simply, they disagree with any harmful use of animals in science What is ‘harmful use'? Any use of animals that cause pain, suffering, distress, or lasting negative impact, including death—without any clear benefit to the animals themselves. Note: even if the research conducted is not considered harmful, the laboratory environment itself can cause suffering and the prevention of natural behaviors and thus be detrimental. ====================== FOLLOW THE SHOW ON: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@plantbasedbriefing Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2GONW0q2EDJMzqhuwuxdCF?si=2a20c247461d4ad7 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/plant-based-briefing/id1562925866 Your podcast app of choice: https://pod.link/1562925866 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PlantBasedBriefing LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/plant-based-briefing/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/plantbasedbriefing/ #vegan #plantbased #plantbasedbriefing #veterinarians #animalcare #vettech #animaladvocate #vegantrauma #vystopia

In this episode, Glenn and I had the delightful opportunity to catch up with award-winning chocolatier, founder and creative genius behind "Live on Chocolate", art school graduate, skincare developer, and good friend, Stacey Burgess. Curious maker, long-time vegan, entrepreneur, and champion of organic, fairly-traded ingredients, Stacey talked about how losing herself in her company has allowed her to discover who she is - beyond her work. We talked about awareness, the stairways above and below the pigeon-holed ideas we can often have of each other, stress, resilience, perseverance, and commitment and care that comes from within. Lesia and Stacey reminisced about their time spent at Lesia's former bakery, LPK's Culinary Groove, sharing their commitment to sustainability, and the imagination and creativity that comes out in what we do. Stacey also talked about her recent foray into skincare. She shared how much she loves and values blending various aromas and ingredients, bringing them together in ways that support people in overcoming shame and judgement about themselves because of how they see their skin, experiencing that shame and judgement fade away as their skin becomes more vibrant, allowing them to really see themselves, perhaps for the first time. We also talked inspiration, joy, perfume, anti-oxidants, beauty, love, and of course. . . chocolate! This, and so much more. . . ! Plus, there's the super fun Rapid Fire Question Round at the end! “It's important to focus on listening to your body, think about how it's responding, and what you're getting out of it. It's really easy to be inspired by other people, and to think that that's gonna work for you. And it's the person, it's problematic when you're inspired by one person's process, because their path is probably different than yours. And also their bodies are different from yours.” - Giacomo Marchese Welcome to The Fit Vegan Podcast, I'm your host, Maxime Sigouin! Today, we are with Giacomo Marchese from VeganProteins.com as he discusses some practical tips to adhere to on our way to creating our New Year's Resolutions. This reveals the importance of dreaming and careful planning to ensure the momentum of habit-building. Giacomo is the co-founder of VeganProteins.com and also co-founded PlantBuilt.com, a non profit organization of strength based vegan athletes who compete together to raise awareness for veganism and money for rescued animals at farm sanctuaries. In this episode, we cover [00:01 - 07:12] Initiating the Veganism Advocacy through Non-Profit Organizations [07:13 - 11:14] The Spiritual, Emotional, and Practical Implications of Being Vegan [11:15 - 15:29] Allow Yourself to Dream then Plan Realistically [15:30 - 19:10] Habit-Building: Working with It, not Against It [19:11 - 22:18] Biting the Bullet of False Starts via Consistency [22:19 - 25:38] The Dangers of Over-Celebrating Small Wins [25:39 - 32:51] The Virtue of Listening to Your Body [32:52 - 38:39] Closing Segment Key Quotes “It's about something bigger than ourselves. And it's not even about the team or the individual. It's the passion, that we have a message out there of compassion, as a collective.” - Giacomo Marchese “Some of the bad habits will just disappear, some of them will stick. And as you discover which one to stick in, you start to ask yourself, why you look at your look at, like, what's triggering that, and you do a little bit of that work. But good habits are simple. And it starts with the basics.” - Giacomo Marchese “Sometimes when you're a little too flexible, you start to make excuses for yourself. And it can be hard to get out of that kind of cycle. So if you say to yourself, like my goal is not negotiable, then the logical process is that you will find a path to get there that won't consume you. And it will be a healthy path. And you'll still get the same exact results, probably better because you won't be stressed out.” - Giacomo Marchese Connect with Giacomo Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/musclesbybrussels/ (https://www.instagram.com/musclesbybrussels/) https://www.veganproteins.com/ (https://www.veganproteins.com/) Plant Built Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/PlantBuilt/ (https://www.instagram.com/PlantBuilt/) https://www.plantbuilt.com/ (https://www.plantbuilt.com/) https://www.veganstrong.com/ (https://www.veganstrong.com/) About me My name is Maxime Sigouin; I am the founder of Fit Vegan Coaching and the Fit Vegan Blueprint program's creator. Naming conventions matter. Words have definitions beyond simple branding. The sexualization of Veganism for profit is a dangerous copulation with afterbirth results. Being Vegan is more than a sexual slur!
In a time where the overwhelming majority focuses on Veganized recipes and the comfortable conversation of the how to be Vegan, we speak on the true importance of focusing on the why people should be Vegan. Being Vegan is not about other Vegans, and it's not about how much fun the lifestyle is, being Vegan is about breaking the consumer rate and supply chain of animal products in order to fuel animal liberation. Period
Within the Vegan movement there tends to be this strong message about loving animals, the phrase friends not food being a prime example. This leads to this false correlation between Veganism and love or compassion. Being Vegan actually has nothing to do with how you feel about the animals, your likability does not dictate your rights and choosing not to have animals heads cut off for a sandwich does not make you compassionate. Being Vegan is a non action, you can be completely neutral and have no desire to connect with animals but still understand as well as respect their earth given right to live free of enslavement. Not everybody loves animals in the same way some of us do, so when the approach is lead with love it can deflate the overall message and the moral imperative of being Vegan.
