Join us for an ‘electrifying' episode that looks at Electric Vehicle (EV) range claims. In today's show, we talk about how far an EV can truly take you versus what the manufacturers advertise. We'll take a look into the recent lawsuit slapped on Tesla by its Californian owners, claiming that the company has been falsely marketing the estimated driving ranges of its EVs. We discuss how factors like temperature and speed can significantly influence the battery life of your vehicle, hence the range.   Gabe Shenhar from Consumer Reports is lending us his expertise on the subject of actual EV range vs the claims.  An investigation into the performance testing criteria of popular EV models like Tesla Model Y, Ionic 5, VW ID4, and Ford Mustang Mach-E, revealed some unexpected results. Imagine your EV range dropping by 25% in frosty conditions and by a whopping 31% during warm temperatures! We'll decode these intriguing findings and talk about the EPA testing criteria and the reporting process followed by manufacturers.  We also will have the Race Card running through the NHRA, NASCAR, Formula One, and Indycar. You know you need great copy to sell your stuff, and you’re thinking of hiring a copywriter, but how can you make sure you don’t get ripped off? In this episode we’ll show you how to successfully navigate these waters and arrive safely on the shores of copywriting bliss. Click here to download or listen to this episode now. Spiritual Foundations Are facing challenges in your life right now? I have excellent news for you. No matter what is happening in your life, God is completely on your side! That, my friends, is called the Divine Advantage. In Romans 8:31 God says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” No matter what life throws at you, take courage because you’re on the winning side! Tip Of The Week If you use a Mac user and you’re a productivity geek I highly recommend you get the most out of your Apple technology by checking out the Mac Power Users Podcast with David Sparks and Katie Floyd. In addition, David Sparks has his own blog called MacSparky.com where he has created free screencasts that show you how to get the most out of your productivity apps. He also has a series of Field Guides you can purchase on a variety of subjects that will make you want to hug your Mac. Prepare to feel the Apple love. Feature Segment: “10 Commandments of Hiring a Copywriter” Maybe you’ve tried to hire a copywriter in the past, but you had a bad experience with The 7 Deadly Copywriter Sins: The copy was just plain bad (too hypey, too weak, or “info-only”) The copy sounded like everyone else (the Sea of Sameness, Mired in the Muck of Mediocrity) Your copywriter took the money and ran Your copywriter never communicated with you…ever. The copy was late. They never asked for your feedback, so the final product was miles off target. They Found You, Fooled You, and Forgot You You’d like to hire a pro, but you can’t afford the fees of an “A-List Copywriter” (Ray’s current minimum is $250,000 up-front, plus a percentage of sales, for a “Private Client Launch Package”.) Yikes! You’re frustrated because it seems like the biggest “X-Factor” in your product launch is the copy, and you are afraid neither you nor your team is good enough to get it right. The 10 Commandments of Hiring a Copywriter i. Scope: Thy copywriter shalt help you determine exactly what type of copy you’ll need, and how much copy you’ll need to bring you the results you seek. ii. Voice: Thy copywriter shalt spend time with you and your material to learn your unique voice, and then infuse that voice into your copy. Your voice is what differentiates you from the crowd. iii. Deadline: Thy copywriter shalt deliver your copy on time…every time. If he doth not, woe unto them, and they shalt be cast into outer darkness. iv. Milestones: Thy copywriter shalt set up mile markers along the way during your project so that you can be consistently confident that your project is receiving the loving care it deserves. v. Communication: Thy copywriter shalt check in with you throughout the process to get your input and make absolutely certain that you’re thrilled with the hand-crafted copy thou receiveth. vi. Revisions: Thy copywriter shalt continue to work with you until thou art thrilled. vii. Proofreading: Thy copywriter shalt have thy copy proofread, and ensure the text is error-fee. viii. Review: Thy copywriter shalt put thy copy under the watchful eye of a mentor or other senior copywriter. ix. Results: Thy copywriter shalt have a track record of results. x. Followup: Thy copywriter shalt NOT just hand off your project and wish you luck. Thy copywriter shalt be there if things go sideways ready to swoop in and save the day! And…you guessed it…here are some snippets from our conversation: Oops I did it again (8:03) The Stepford Copywriter (8:40) Visit your money in Mexico (9:28) Can you hear me now? (9:44) Don’t be tardy for the party (10:50) Have we met? (11:46) Avoid the One Night Stand (12:11) Have map…will travel (13:31) Hire a chameleon (13:55) Better bring a flashlight (14:37) Give your copy a hug (15:15) Artisan copywriting (16:41) The value of sweat equity (17:46) That copy sure is pretty (18:58) Four eyes are better than two (19:57) Win…and win often (20:54) Copywriting Superhero! Coming up this week… How to triple your productivity… instantly. If God wants us healed, healthy, and wealthy… then why aren’t we? and then, of course, 7 Lessons Learned at the Gym From My Son” Click here to download or listen to this episode now. Spiritual Foundations If God wants us healed, healthy, and wealthy… then why aren’t we? Not long ago a man emailed me to ask me a tough question. “I was listening to your message. My wife and I are Christians for many years. We both believe that God will and can prosper us. But we have no more money. I have no job. We have debt. My wife has diabetes. We believe in healing, but we have not seen it. We believe in prosperity, but we are broke. We believe in it, but it is not working.” In this episode, I’ll tell you how I answered him… Tip Of The Week How to triple your productivity… instantly. Being productive is more about eliminating resistance (drag) than about getting better at anything. Here are 3 simple practices that, in my experience, will triple your output: Do one thing at a time, for a focused block of time (using a digital timer), to the exclusion of all else. Check email only once per day. Accept no incoming phone calls, and return voicemails only once per day. And here’s the thing: for these practices to work, you can’t do them half-heartedly. You must be a fanatic. You must bring intensity to the game. Try it with full-on emotional intensity for one week and see the difference in your output. If you want to go beyond productivity and become more EFFECTIVE (not just EFFICIENT) in every area of your life, you may want to consider attending the webinar with Michael Hyatt this week at https://rayedwards.com/bye-webinar This week, Michael will be showing you the seven steps you can take to use goal-setting to design the life you really want. This is going to help you have your best year ever in 2017. Feature Segment: “7 Lessons Learned at the Gym From My Son” I’ve been on a personal health quest over the last few months, proactively taking control of what I’m eating and the quality and frequency of the physical exercise I get. The results are clear. I’ve lost over 50 pounds, had to buy a new belt, and had to buy some new clothes. I have a lot more progress to make, but it’s been a very encouraging, if somewhat challenging experience. I’ve tried to take control of my health in the past, and frankly didn’t have a great deal of success, at least not long-term. This time, I decided to try something different: I have enlisted an accountability partner that I absolutely don’t want to disappoint. That accountability partner is my son, Sean Edwards. Sean is a great accountability partner and coach because he is unrelentingly truthful in his assessment of how I’m doing (“Hey dad, when you do those squats you need to go all the way down…”). He has a great sense of humor, and he is a good teacher. This week I share seven lessons I have learned from Sean in our time working out together. Here’s a little preview of what you’ll learn… The single best way to overcome inertia…doing this one this thing is half the battle. The secret to getting more from what you’re already doing. Here’s a hint…intensity matters. The truth about how to work with your physiology instead of against it…this works every single time. What most coaches and trainers don’t want you to know…this one thing will dramatically amplify your results. Plus – I’ll share the sneaky way to achieve things you think are impossible…it’s easier than you think! All this and more awaits you inside this episode! 5 Good Reasons to Set Goals for 2017

Podcast – Ray Edwards

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 23, 2016 38:26

Coming up this week… A free ebook on the 8 strategies successful people are using now to accomplish more next year. Why I believe it’s proper for Christians to set goals…it’s even our “sacred duty.” And then, of course, 5 Good Reasons to Set Goals for 2017 (Even If You Hate Goal-Setting) Click here to download or listen to this episode now. Spiritual Foundations There are those in the family of faith that believe that setting goals is “sinful arrogance”. The argument for this belief comes from the book of James in the New Testament. James, the brother of Jesus, says this… “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’ As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. (James 4:13-16) James is echoing the sentiment of this passage from the Old Testament: “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” (Proverbs 27:1) Do these verses teach us that setting goals is sinful arrogance? I don’t think so. In fact, I think it is our duty as Christians to set goals, and I have three strong reasons to support that assertion. We’ll get to those in a moment, but first I want to tackle this idea that Christians should not set goals at all. People who hold this view (that goal-setting is wrong) usually offer as argument the idea that they are “free to be led by the Spirit”. They want to be sure they are “open to God’s will”. There are at least three incorrect pre-suppostions embedded within this position. If this is your belief, you are assuming: Your “feelings” and “promptings” are the one and only infallible way of accessing God’s specific plan and will for any situation. You can only trust those feelings of yours to know when you are “in God’s will”. Hello, scary cult leader. Our emotions are important for relating to God and what He is saying, but they don’t rule over everything else. Sometimes our feelings are just inaccurate. Even Jesus experienced this. In the Garden of Gethsemane the night before His crucifixion, he was emotionally distressed and asked God to spare him from the horrors that lay ahead. But Jesus ultimately conceded, “Not my will but Yours.” Emotionally, he did not want to experience what was to come – but He knew it had to be done, and He did it. The second pre-supposition those opposed to goal-setting make is that Holy Spirit only leads us spontaneously – that He never leads us to make plans. That is simply not supported by scripture. Paul made plans (Romans 1:13). The early Apostles made plans ( Acts 6:1-3). Jesus made plans (Matthew 10:5-15). Finally, those holding the “no goal-setting” view are disregarding the fact that we can also hear the voice of the Holy Spirit though God’s written word. The Bible makes it clear that we can receive fresh revelation from god through his written word ( Matthew 4:4, 2 Timothy 3:15-17). Just like we are supposed to be good stewards of our wealth, we are also supposed to be good stewards of our life. Selah. Tip Of The Week Get Michael Hyatt’s ebook, “Achieve What Matters in 2017”. This is an incredible download. More than 30 thought leaders, influencers, and high achievers all share their top strategies for starting the year off with a bang. You'll recognize many of the names as they include multiple best-selling authors, speakers, and leaders of their respected fields. People like: Tony Robbins John Maxwell Dave Ramsey Marie Forleo Andy Andrews Jeff Walker Amy Porterfield Lysa TerKeurst Andy Stanley Chalene Johnson Lewis Howes and many others… It's all available here. As we get closer to the start of 2017, the timing on this couldn't be any better. The insights were pretty incredible, so make sure you take a look for yourself… Also watch for the Free LifeScore App Wednesday, November 30th, (day after tomorrow, if you’re listening to this on release day)… If life were a game, what would your score be? Even if you aren't competitive, how would you rank each area of your life? Would you give yourself a good score with your health? What about your finances or relationships? What if there was a way you could measure yourself in the areas that matter most–so that you can improve? What if you could get an overall score for your life, take it to the next level, and create the life you want? Well, now you can. If you’re not on our email list, get signed up today so we can notify you when this is released Wednesday, or you can go to https://rayedwards.com/lifescore (that link will not work until Wednesday, November 30th). Feature Segment: “5 Good Reasons to Set Goals for 2017 (Even If You Hate Goal-Setting)” You have goals already – wouldn’t you rather set them consciously? If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Goals keep you moving forward, even when it’s tough. Having written, measurable goals keeps you accountable. If you want to be your best possible self, you must have a plan to achieve that. Some additional thoughts: To be effective goals must be written, measurable, and regularly measured. There are many systems for setting goals, the one that has worked best for me is Michael Hyatt’s 5 Days to Your Best Year Ever. When Michael opens up BYE, I hope you’ll join me in the journey for 2017. How To Help Subscribe to the show through iTunes and give us a rating and review. Spiritual Foundations Every day you make one choice that sets the tone for the success or failure of your day. Think of it as your daily Rosetta Stone, the one key that can either unlock your day’s potential, or confine you in a prison of your own making. What is this one choice? Listen to this week's episode to find out. Tip Of The Week What is the ideal subject line length for your emails? Sounds like the ultimate geeky copywriter question, right? But here’s the thing…would you open your front door to a stranger and welcome them into your home if you couldn’t see them? If your subject line is too long, your message gets truncated in your prospect’s email viewer, your intention is lost, and even the best email in the world is left standing of your prospect’s digital front porch…lonely and unwanted. Today's podcast is filled with action steps you can put to work in your business right away. These steps are designed to make more money. It should be no surprise to you but all seven steps involve your copywriting skills. But we're not going esoteric on you. This podcast is not about theory, it's about practice. You'll be able to put this stuff to work right now. Today. In this week's episode, you'll find… How to know it's time to give up trying to solve the problem you face, and try something crazy. Something supernatural. How to get access to our new copywriting training series, free. 7 keys to more effective copywriting-you'll be writing words that sell better, faster, and easier than ever before. …And there's more! Click here to download or listen to this episode now. Spiritual Foundations Stop Trying to Figure It Out “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5, NKJV) Have you ever faced a situation that seemed impossible? We all do at some point. Sometimes it just seems that a certain problem has no logical solution. It's in moments like these that we need to give up trying to figure it out. Sometimes it's best to remember that we have access to “the mind of Christ”. I did not make that up, the Apostle Paul says so in the New Testament. So if we have access to “the mind of Christ”, that means we have access to the vast storehouse of knowledge of God himself. And trust me, He knows the answer to your problem. How do we access this source of wisdom and power? We have to do the most counterintuitive thing: turn off the logic machine, stop researching our problem on Google, stop overanalyzing the problem, and stop looking for answers in the natural realm. It's time to tap into the supernatural. Stop leaning on our own understanding, and instead, choose to trust God.  None of the problems we face are a surprise to God, nor are they a challenge to Him. Your mind is a powerful thing. But sometimes, your mind will try to distract you, so you don't even notice that God is speaking to your heart all the time. Your mind, not your heart, is the source of fear, doubt, and terror. These emotions can block the signal God is broadcasting to your heart. That's why it says in the book of Proverbs we should trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. And if you can simply “let it go”, stop thinking about the problem and the solutions so much, and just listen for what God has to say, you will find faith rising up. You'll start to feel hope, even in impossible situations. So today, no matter how dark things may look to you now, choose to lean on God. Trust that He has a good future in store for you. Trust that He has poured out grace and favor on your life. Trust Him, because in the final analysis, He's the only one you can totally trust, every time. Join me in a prayer like this: “Daddy, I'm making the choice to lean on you. Not on my own understanding. I know that you are working all things out for my good. So I won't put my confidence in the evidence that I see, but I will trust in your Word, and I will trust in You. I receive Your peace, in Jesus's name. Amen.” Tip of the Week Would you like some in-depth video training on how to create copy that makes more sales? #225: 3 Killer Copy Tactics That Create Cash

Copywriting is the single most valuable skill you can develop in business. It's the only skill you can use to create more sales, out of thin air, without spending more on ads or changing your product or delivery. And if you need cash quick, you're going to love today's episode. We're going to explore proven methods that can produce nearly instant income. Specifically, I will be spelling out three killer copy tactics that create cash. Reliably. Time after time. And the funny part is, you just experienced two of them already. Also in this week's episode… How it's possible that God is offering you incredible gifts-and you are refusing to take them! An incredible new copywriting tutorial video series, that is absolutely 100% free. How to get it. …and there's more! Click here to download or listen to this episode now. Spiritual Foundations Don't Block Your Blessing “…Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:5, NKJV) If I offer you a gift, holding out to you with arms extended, but you keep your hands in your pockets… To whom does the gift still belong? I can't force you to take it. Yet, sometimes this is how we behave in life. There are gifts that are right in front of us, we have our hands firmly stuffed in our pockets, oblivious to what life is offering us. there are times when we are so focused on the only thing we can think about (such as needing more money) that we fail to see what God is offering to us in the here and now. Usually, it will lead us directly to what we need provision for. You might say, “I get that, but I do need money and I don't have my hands in my pockets. But God still hasn't supplied me with the money.” We'll keep in mind that the “hands in pockets” thing is a metaphor. There may be something else that God is asking you to do or suggesting to you that you are ignoring. As because you're so focused on the outcome, you're missing the process. You might say that you're working hard, but your timing faithfully, and the your “doing everything right”. And maybe you are. And I certainly don't want to get into a discussion about whether or not we earn God's favor (we don't). But one thing I know we do is sometimes block God's attempts to bless us. Is the equivalent of having your hands in your pockets when someone's trying to give you a gift. For instance, if you're holding bitterness and anger in your heart toward someone, or unforgiveness, that could block your blessing. Today, ask the Lord to help you search your own heart for anything that may be blocking or refusing his power. This is about trying to find something wrong with you, by the way. It's not about trying to “search out sin”. Most of us don't need to search sin out – we know exactly where to find it. This can be more subtle. If you're spending all your energy and emotional reserves on harboring unforgiveness toward someone, or you're operating from a victim mindset because you're so “wounded”, you're cutting off access to your own best self. You're limiting the resources you have access to, and you're doing it by choice. So you might try praying something like this today: “Daddy, every part of my life belongs to you. I know you have my best interest at heart. Show me anything I need to do, anything I need to change, so that I'm open to receiving everything you want to give me. In Jesus name, Amen.” Tip of the Week Would you like some in-depth video training on how to create copy that makes more sales? Maybe you've heard: giving thanks makes you feel happier and more fulfilled. There are at least 7 scientifically proven benefits to practicing the “attitude of gratitude”. And right now, as we enter the Thanksgiving Holiday season, the media is filled with heartwarming stories of all we should be thankful for. Today, I'm going to suggest you be thankful for the bad stuff. The challenges. The tragedies. The pain. In today's show, we'll discover: The shocking truth about suicide rates during the holidays. The 3 dangers of “counting your blessings”. The 7 scientifically proven benefits of  gratitude. The 5 unconventional times to practice thankfulness. How the attitude of gratitude makes you healthy, wealthy, and wise. Why you can be thankful for the trials, and not just through them. Plus, I'll share a tip for how to get your podcast ranked higher in iTunes, quick and easy. Spiritual Foundations Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.– James 1:2-8 All those things that seem to oppose our goals are actually the raw material for achieving them. – Dan Sullivan You can be thankful for trials, and truly count it all joy, not because God is teaching you a lesson, but because when approached with faith, trials always lead to victory. God doesn't cause everything, but He can use everything. Tip Of the Week How do you get your podcast ranked higher in iTunes? It comes down to 2 key factors, according to my buddy Cliff Ravenscraft: Recent new subscribers in iTunes, using the Apple Podcast App. Recent new downloads in iTunes, using the Apple Podcast App. It is my opinion that high star ratings and favorable reviews somehow factor into the equation as well. Feature Segment: 5 Unconventional Times To Practice Thankfulness (How The Attitude Of Gratitude Makes You Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise) This is is season for bloggers and podcasters to roll out their “Thanksgiving posts”. And I do believe we all have a lot to be thankful for. Of course, it's easy to be thankful when you live in a nice warm house, are privileged to indulge in gluttony, and watch multi-million dollar entertainment spectacles piped into your home virtually free of charge. Especially if you're healthy, and are in the top 10% of the world's wealthiest people. Before you argue that last point, let me assure you that if you live in any modern country, especially in the USA or Canada, you almost certainly are. Check for yourself. I'll wait. Just in case you didn't check, according to the Global Rich List website, if you make $14,000 per year in the USA, you're in the top 9.52% of the richest people in the world by income. So get grateful. The Shocking Truth About Suicide Rates During The Holidays Normally, this is where a blogger or podcaster would tell you about suicide rates surging up dramatically during the holidays. The convetinal wisdom is that we should exercise great discipline in being thankful during this time of year, because otherwise, we may, like so many, slip into depression. The problem with this is that it's simply wrong. Suicides do not go up during the holidays. They are, in fact, at their lowest rates of the year. But don't just take my word for it: The Health Central website says: There is a well known reduction in the suicide rate on major public holidays (including non-religious). Many studies in different Western countries have found the drop is even more pronounced during the Christmas to New Year's stretch.  Read the whole article here. The Wall Street Journal looked into this a few years ago, and their conlusion is that suicides dip in the winter, and peak in the spring. They back it up with solid reearch: Studies from around the world suggest the key factor is climate, rather than the calendar. In the U.S. from 1999 to 2004, the six highest months in terms of suicides per day were March through August, not in that order, with a peak in July, according to my analysis of numbers provided by the CDC. (The seasonal variation isn’t extreme; the daily averages range from 76.3 suicides in December to 87.6 in July.) Other northern hemisphere countries such as Switzerland and Lithuania exhibit the same trend as the U.S. Suicide rates rise in England and Wales on hotter days, according to a study this year. In Singapore, near the equator, there was little seasonal effect. In the southern hemisphere, suicide rates peak in December. Climate’s role isn’t totally understood; some researchers have linked suicide’s seasonality to the amount of sunshine. What do we conclude? One obvious possibility is that becuase people are practicing gratitude more intetionally during the holidays, they are less likely to kill themselves. So that's a big point in favor of “the attitude of gratitude”. However, don't skip this next part, because I want you to know… The 3 Surprising Dangers Of “Counting Your Blessings” Denial and gratitude are not the same thing. If you're swimming in the alligator tank, all the gratitude in the world is unlikely to keep you from being some lizard's dinner. Giving thanks only for the “good stuff” can bottle up poisonous thinking and emotions. It suppresses, refuses to deal with, and thereby strengthens, the power of unresolved pain. Your glib attiude and lack of empathy can hurt other people. You must be sensitive to what is happening with the people around you. Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing. Proverbs 27:14 A man’s spirit will endure sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear? Proverbs 18:14 The 5 Unconventional Times To Practice Thankfulness When you a depressed. When you are lonely. When you are ill. When you lose someone you love. When tragedy strikes. #193: 7 Shocking Productivity Hacks

Podcast – Ray Edwards

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 18, 2015 37:18

When it comes to productivity, there is no shortage of advice. The problem is it's often the same advice, repackaged with a bright new wrapper. Nothing new inside. And there's no problem with that. Often, we need to hear the same advice presented differently, at different periods in our life, before it “clicks” and we finally “get” it. But sometimes, we need something truly different, something that rises above the normal, and begins to look more like a revolution than an evolution. Today's “7 Shocking Productivity Hacks” may not seem new at first, but the extremes to which I will advise you to take these measures is, at least, something outlandishly more radical than what most would recommend. When you listen to today's show, you'll discover: How you can finally conquer your overflowing email inbox, once and for all, guaranteed. For free. The devastatingly effective method that ensures you never receive another unwanted phone call. A radical, but powerful method for getting rid of “dead weight” friends and acquaintances who are dragging you down… without making them feel judged, and without hurting their feelings. The almost magical technique to prevent writer's block, plus multiply your creativity, energy, and productivity by a factor of at least 7 … maybe 10. How to eliminate – totally and permanently – the #1 way other people waste your time. How to slash unwanted interruptions, meetings, and junk mail from your life, with one simple, bold “directive.” The single sentence (that you will come up with) that will erase any excuse you have for wasting a single minute of your time on someone else's priorties, for the rest of your life. How God can set you free from self-destructive habits, Plus, I'll share a resource that helps you improve your marketing. That's all comin' up on this week's show! Spiritual Foundations If you're breathing, you are tempted by various kinds of self-destrcutive behavior. It may be overeating, drinking, drugs, sex … or seemingly “lesser” sins like compulsive gaming TV watching, or even being “grumpy” all the time. God will set you free from these and any other self-destructive behavior, also known by the less popular term, “sin”. How do we know this? There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” -Romans 8:1 Don't get tripped up if your Bible says, “who do not walk accoirding to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” Some translations, such as the New King James, include that line but it isn't in the oldest, most reliable Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. (NOTE: Sean thought it might be a good idea for me to point out that not everyone agrees that those are the most reliable manuscripts…. I explain more about this in the show.) Now. Back to our topic – that verse. Notice the tense: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” So don't get all filled with guilt when you are tempted to sin. Just don't engage in the self-destructive behavior. Having the thought is not a sin. Acting on it is. As it was explained once to me: “You can stop birds from landing in the tree, but you can stop them from building a nest.” The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is inside you now, and that means you have the power of Christ to resist the temptation. And lest you fall into a “shame spiral”, just remember that even when you do give in, when you fail, you are still “the righteousness of God” in Christ. And there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. As you become more aware of how Jesus has cloaked you in His righeousness, and you see more of the Spirit living in you, you will not keep on sinning. You will not keep up the habits that destroy you. You have the power to “go and sin no more” – but only after you experience the reality of His Grace. Do affirmations and things like positive self-talk really work? If so, can they be made even more effective? And, are there downsides? We're going to explore a few pros and cons and then share my take on all of this. Do you outsource any of your tasks? And, if so, you probably know how difficult it can be to track people through all the many channels there are: email, online portals, chat, Skype, Zoom Meetings, WebEx, and much, much more. In today's Bangin' Your Productivity segment, I'm going to share a couple tips to help you cut down on some of the churn and make distributed team management a whole lot easier. In the Feature Segment, I'm going to explore a sensitive, but really powerful and relevant topic for those of us in consulting and coaching, and I'm calling it: Is Your Mouth Costing You Money?  We probably all understand that saying the wrong things or saying things out of context can hurt the sales process. After all, if we say something wrong in a presales meeting, it can kill the sale or turn potential clients away from working with us. But what about after the sale, especially after we get a little bit more comfortable working with the client and our communications become a lot more open and personal? Then what? Well, I'm going to share five tips to help ensure your client conversations are always the best they can be. Wow! A fully packed show today, so let's just do this. https://banginyourbusiness.com/030

Two years ago this week, I did the very first episode of this podcast. I didn't realize I was making a commitment to cranking out show every week, but that's what happened. It hasn't always been easy. I took this photo with my new Nikon D5200. In this episode, I  am taking some time to review the lessons I've learned after doing 104 episodes, week after week. I will also talk about a very important decision I've made-whether to continue doing the show or not. Also coming up… The best way to get clean audio recordings of your speeches on your iPhone. Spiritual Foundations Whether we like it or not, God provides for all the things that we need. How do we know this? And how do we gain access to it? 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[a] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:25-34 Feature Segment:  What I Learned From 2 Years of Doing This Podcast For two years-24 months-I have been doing this show every single week. I have learned a lot of lessons along the way. Here are 24 of the most important lessons I learned, one for each month that I've been doing the show. Prior preparation prevents poor performance. Perfectionism is the mask procrastination wears to hide fear. The harvest never comes before tilling, planting, and cultivating. It is better to give than to receive, yet giving often results in receiving. The human voice is the most intimate of all communication media. The power of the podcast for business has been greatly undersold. Discipline means doing what needs to be done, even when you don't feel like doing it. Experience is the best teacher, and often the most expensive one; the highest leverage teaching is other people's experience. You have not because you ask not. Every project seems to reach the pinnacle of difficulty right before the point of breakthrough. Your commitment to excellence is reflected in what you ship. Mistakes in business can be setbacks, but are seldom fatal. Every adversity contains within it the seed for an equal or greater benefit. The warrior trains for battle, but the victory is the Lords. It's okay to switch horses, especially if the one you are riding is tired. Successful people see problems as challenges to be overcome; unsuccessful people see problems as an excuse to quit. One of the most valuable things you can learn is how to gracefully say no. You will either pour most of your efforts into building your own dream, or inevitably pour them into building someone else's. If you are not investing in your own education and program of improvement, you have decided to stop growing. Most people are the average of the five people they spend the most time with. You can use the power of the peer group to raise your level of performance and manifestation-you simply choose your peer group intentionally. Your own tongue contains the power of life and death over you, your family, and your business. The reason showing up is 90% of the battle is that most people simply failed to do it. The most powerful skill you can master is the practice of presence. Will I continue the show? What To Do Now If you enjoy the podcast, I would consider it a great favor if you subscribe (and leave a review) in iTunes. This helps new people discover the show. Spiritual Foundations Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.” Proverbs 11:24 In a recent discussion, a couple of my friends brought up the fact that selling things to the Christian market is not a good idea. Christians, they said, are cheap. One brought up a statistic they heard from a retail bookstore owner, who said the number one category of books that are stolen our Christian books. We love tutorials, especially the granular, step-by-step kind. Ask your audience. Just ask what they would most like to hear from you about. Other great ways to phrase the question include: what's your biggest problem? What's holding you back? What your number one question? Curate some content. Spiritual Foundations All spiritual growth involves discomfort. It is abnormal for a believer not to have an appetite for the impossible. When we are born again and open the Bible and start reading about Jesus, we all want to do the things that Jesus does. Unfortunately many of us fall prey to disappointment or bad teaching and that appetite goes. This desire that was birthed in us at conversion gets buried by disappointment, by things which didn’t happen as we thought they should have, or teaching that said it wasn’t supposed to be like that. And yet we don’t have the luxury, we don’t have the right, to lower the standard of scripture to our level of experience. The responsibility of every believer is to look at what is possible and then in the secret place with God contend until there is breakthrough, until we manifest the very things that Jesus said should be manifested in our lives. That is the privilege of a believer.” Bill Johnson, Manifesto For a Normal Christian life Feature Segment: 7 Steps To Your Best Year so Far This is the perfect time to be planning your new year. How to stop that.  How to use your laptop's power cable to increase your productivity. The key to releasing power into the lives of others. In the podcast audio, I reveal this arcane secret… Spiritual Foundations If what you are saying does not impart grace to the people listening,  it's better to be silent. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give cgrace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29 We can do terrible damage with what we say, or we can bring life. Speak only life, and watch what happens. Feature Segment: 5 Ways Discipline Will Make You Rich Wikipedia says “Discipline is a course of actions leading to a greater goal than the satisfaction of the immediate. A disciplined person is one that has established a goal and is willing to achieve that goal at the expense of his or her immediate comfort.” Add this book to your list of must-reads: The Ultimate Sales Machine, by Chet Holmes. If you haven’t read it, move it to the top of your list. If you have read it and haven’t yet implemented every single strategy inside its covers, read it now. Again. Probably my favorite passage from Chet’s masterful business work is one that most people read without understanding its import. In the early pages of the book, Chet points out that most people will read his book, agree with its precepts, and still not do them. He says this is the “reverse psychology” section of the book, in which he attempts to prod the reader into doing what needs to be done. In Chet’s words, “I’m goading you into applying a powerful force for creating success from what you’re going to learn… and that force, my friends, is pigheaded discipline and determination.” Pigheaded discipline is the subject of this post for very good, and simple, reason. That reason being the fact that this is the most-lacked skill in over 90% of entrepreneurs. In my experience, what stands in our way, what holds us back from our potential, is usually not some external force (such as competition or marketplace conditions)-it is, rather, our own inability to say no to the things that distract us from our most profitable activities, and our continued inability to say yes only to those activities that produce the results we seek. It is as if the world conspires against us to lead us down this path to destruction. Most of our peers, and certainly most of our employees, are happy to tell us what we should be spending our time on-and almost without fail their advice is dead wrong. It usually doesn’t come packaged as advice, by the way – it usually comes packaged as a meeting… a phone call… a personal plea… or some kind of interpersonal conflict. None of which are, perhaps, designed to take us off target- but all of which inevitably do. Guard your heart carefully, eternal entrepreneur, and focus only on the things that expand the kingdom. Employ pigheaded discipline. There are at least five ways cultivating more discipline will make you rich: Discipline measures activity instead of intent. Discipline measures results instead of reasons. Discipline cultivates stewardship. Discipline produces accurate thinking. Discipline practices the Pareto principle. What To Do Now Here's how you put these five points to work right now, starting today. Reverse engineer the daily activities needed to achieve your objectives, schedule them, and then do them. Meticulously track the results you achieve, and continuously adjust your approach until you reach your objective. Carefully examine your finances, your relationships, your health, your spiritual foundations. If there are any areas where you are not being a good steward, you already know what to do. Do it. Today. Evaluate every area of discontent in your life, determine the cause, and decide what is required to fix it. See things as they are, then see them as you want them to be, then make them how you see them. Ruthlessly eliminate activities and relationships that do not move you forward toward your objectives. Begin today, by making a list of at least 10 things to eliminate from your life. If you enjoy the podcast, I would consider it a great favor if you subscribe (and leave a review) in iTunes. Spiritual Foundations  God wants us to build people up, not tear them down. “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29 This is only possible when we begin to see other people the way God sees them. And he saw enough in them, even the people we are fear or we hate, to actually die in their place. “You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?” 1 Cor 3:3 Feature Segment: 7 Things You Don't Want to Hear About Copywriting Here are the seven inconvenient truths about copywriting: It takes work. Why do I still invest the time and money to attend seminars, even though many people would think I don't have to? I have at least five good reasons why, and in this episode I will share them with you. Announcements: Conferences where I will be attending and/or speaking: SCORRE Conference, October 14-17 Platform Conference, November 3-5 And if you enjoy the podcast, I would consider it a great favor if you subscribe (and leave a review) in iTunes. Spiritual Foundations If you're on a guilt trip, I promise you God was not your travel agent. 3 reasons why:  Grace is bigger than whatever we may feel “convicted” or  “condemned” about. “By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; 20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.”1 John 3:19-24 The Bible calls the law the ministry of Death. “Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory? For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.  Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it.” 2 Corinthians 3:7-10 Take a clue from what Paul was persecuted for. “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! “Romans 6:1-2 Feature Segment: 5 Reasons Why I Still Attend Seminars After all these years, I'm still attending seminars and workshops… here are 5 reasons why… To remain a student. Hosting your own live event can be risky. I posted about this recently, and I posted my reasons for hosting live events anyway. Now, I'm offering five crucial steps you must be aware of if you want to successfully market your own live event. Ignoring the steps could mean the loss of a lot of money, sleep, and peace of mind. Here's what else is up in this week's podcast episode: The “five things” approach to productivity. The Word that heals. Plus, our feature presentation… 5 Crucial Steps To Marketing Live Events Tip Of The Week The curious case of Dr. Canoe, props to Alex and Robert, and the simplest productivity tool I know. Spiritual Foundations He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Psalm 107:20 As Christians, we sometimes fall into using the Bible as a talisman. We hold it like a good luck charm. We pull it out in times of trouble. The power of the Bible-God's word-is released only when you receive it as truth, and then speak it out loud. When God wanted to save the world what did he do? He sent the word. When God wanted to heal his people, the Bible says he sent his word. There is no “your part” that you need to do to receive God's goodness, except this: you must receive it. We help ourselves receive it when we confess it out loud. Feature Segment: 5 Crucial Steps To Marketing Live Events The biggest risk you take when you sponsor a live event is the most obvious one: the risk that nobody will show up. The next biggest risk is not so obvious, but perhaps more commonplace. This is the risk that people will show up, the event will be great, and you will lose money like crazy. Here are five crucial steps you can take to ensure against both of these problems. Be intentional about the model. Identify your attendees carefully. Remember the 5P's. Watch them chickens. Market early, market often, and market using different media. Your Feedback Do you have an idea for a podcast you would like to hear? Do you have a question that you like to ask me? Maybe the best way to grow your business if to do less. I'm not encouraging laziness, but rather suggesting something very different. It's time to speed up… by slowing down. Here's what else is up in this week's podcast episode: Scrivener is my new writing tool of choice. The value of comrades in arms. Stu McLaren is back from a dog sled adventure with a talk on sprinting. Plus, our feature presentation… 5 Ways To Simplify Your Business Tip Of The Week Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers that allows you to concentrate on composing and structuring long and difficult documents. While it gives you complete control of the formatting, its focus is on helping you get to the end of that awkward first draft. Spiritual Foundations But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God… For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. Hebrews 10:12,14 It's about time we stopped confessing our sins. Why are we so caught up in the idea that we need to remind God of something he has said he has forgotten? You don't need to become more conscious of your sin. You already know when you sin. What we need to become conscious of is our righteousness. Being conscious of how imperfect we are is not humility. It's a failure to understand what Christ has extra done for us. In fact, the Bible tells us that being conscious of our sins means we haven't “evil conscience” (Hebrews 10:22). God sees us without spot, without imperfection, and he sees us wearing his own robes of righteousness. We are righteous, not because of anything we have done, but because of what he has done. This week, Stu tackles the subject of sprinters vs. marathoners. Feature Segment: 5 Ways To Simplify Your Business From last week's podcast, here are 3 good reasons to simplifying your business. Simplifying helps you to focus more on the most profitable elements of your business. Simplifying helps you get paid more for what you sell. Simplifying helps your customers feel as if they are clear on what you do. The question this raised was, how do we do that? Here are five ways to simplify your business. #055: 5 Traps “Internet Marketers” Fall Into [Podcast]

Who are “Internet Marketers”, and how do they get it wrong? There is a very distinct group of online entrepreneurs that are referred to as “Internet Marketers”, as opposed to the general online population of business people who do marketing. And within this distinct group, there are some common practices that will lead you to disaster… in this episode, I'll show you how to avoid that problem. Here's what else is up in this week's podcast episode: The app that made me a journal keeper… against my will.  Is there a time to stop crying out to God? Stu McLaren is back with advice on living well. Plus, our feature presentation… 5 Traps “Internet Marketers” Fall Into. Tip Of The Week If you've ever wanted to keep it journal, but just never been able to stick with it, you might want to try DayOne. Spiritual Foundations Is there ever a time to stop “crying out to God” and start taking some action? Consider this story from Exodus: The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.” Exodus 14:15-16 God gave Moses authority. That's what the staff in his hand represented. So when Moses had the people crying out to God, the Lord asked Moses why. And then God told him to have the people go forward, and exercise his authority. As partakers in the new covenant, we also have authority. It comes to us in the name of Jesus Christ. If you feel that you're caught between “the devil and the deep blue sea”, perhaps it's time to stop crying out to God, and start exercising your authority as a royal priest, and in the name of Jesus Christ. Lifestyle Business Segment Stu McLaren,  superstar entrepreneur from WishList Products And RhinoSupport, brings us our Lifestyle Business Segment. This week, Stu tackles the subject of living well. Feature Segment: 5 Traps “Internet Marketers” Get Caught In When I use the term “Internet Marketers” in this particular episode, I'm referring to that curious group of folks who can be described like this: marketers who sell marketing stuff to marketers, who then sell marketing stuff to marketers, who sell… you get the idea. Now I am not saying that Internet Marketers are bad people, or that there is anything wrong with this particular niche. In fact, I believe quite the contrary. I do believe there are some common pitfalls that many people in this niche encounter. And today, I'm going to outline five traps Internet Marketers get caught in. I think you can en joy great success either as an Internet Marketer yourself, or by learning from Internet Marketing experts… if you avoid these five traps. The Internet Marketing MLM Trap. Please don't flame me, I'm not criticizing multilevel marketing companies that sell on the Internet. But within that industry (the MLM industry) there are many scams. Most of them are some version of “selling the dream to people who then sell the dream to other people”… And nobody is selling any actual product. The same happens in Internet marketing. The Copycat Trap. This is the bane of “how to” content creation. If all you are teaching is “how to” it quickly becomes indistinguishable from “me too”. The antidote is moving beyond mere knowledge, and producing Wisdom. The Hamster Wheel Trap. Instead of creating foundational products, and building a marketing system, entrepreneurs stuck in this trap are having to produce the “product of the week”. Always a new pitch. Always a new topic. Very tiring. The Hyperbolic Intensifier Trap. We get the word “height” from the word “hyperbole”. When you are creating commodity products and information, the only way to fight the competition war is by exaggerating the benefits of your own product. You have to intensify your hyperbole until eventually, you're just telling lies. The Spirit of Mammon Trap. Call it greed. Call it avarice. Jesus called it Mammon. This comes from a Greek word that seems to imply the personification of a spiritual force behind the worship of money. “Do not love the money and use people. Instead, use money to love people.”-Joseph Prince These traps can sneak up on you. Keep your eyes open, stay well away from these, and enjoy more success and fulfillment. Not to mention sounder sleep. Your Feedback Do you have an idea for a podcast you would like to hear? Do you have a question that you like to ask me? Please contact me. #053: 5 Ways to $5K Per Month [Podcast]

How much money do you need to make in order to be comfortable? How much money would it take for you to finally realize your dream of working for yourself, and quitting your job. That number will be different for each person, but after talking to many online entrepreneurs (and those who want to be) I am amazed at how often the answer is the same: $5000. In this week's episode, I will show you five different ways you can reach that $5K goal. Here's what else is up in this week's podcast episode: The secret to great high definition video from your laptop.  How to have peace in any storm. Plus, our feature presentation… 5 ways to $5K. Special Announcements The clock is running out on the 3-Day Live Intensive,  April 5-7 in Phoenix. Get your ticket right now – click here. Would you like to have me speak at your event or church? I am accepting a limited number of engagements for 2013.  Click here to visit my speaking page and get details on my availability. Tip Of The Week Thanks to advice from Michael Hyatt, I recently upgraded my Skype video interview tool box. The problem with doing Skype video interview recordings is really twofold: getting crisp looking video, and getting great sound. One solution to both is the Logitech c920 HDpro WebCam. This WebCam costs around $120 and delivers 1080p HD video for Skype. You can also use it for other video applications, such as making tutorial or teaching videos. The picture quality is extraordinary, and the stereo sound is fantastic. One concern you may run into is that, according to the documentation, this camera does not work with a Mac. You can safely ignore that information. I plugged the camera into my MacBook Air, which instantly recognized the camera. Now, Logitech does not support Mac users, which is a shame, but there is a solution. If you want to use the full capabilities of the camera (such as pan and tilt, zoom, autofocus, and aperture control) you just need the Webcam Settings App. It is only $7.99. Spiritual Foundations Is it possible to be at peace, even when the storm is raging around you? “Storm” in this case might be an actual storm, it might be a storm in your finances, your health, your family, or at work. Here's what it says in Psalm 91: He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Psalm 91:1-2, 5-6 It doesn't matter what's going on all around you, you don't have to be afraid, even in the middle of a violent storm. God is able to willing to give you peace, safety, and protection. Sometimes, God's rescue doesn't look the way we thought it would-but he never fails us, and he always keeps his word. And just remember this: God's delays are not God's denials. If you are a follower of Jesus, all these promises are yours. And don't fall for the deception that says if you are not perfect in your behavior that you somehow disqualify yourself for his favor. Remember that he forgave all of your sins, and that is forever. Don't worry that you might have messed up by some sinew committed today her yesterday or last week. You didn't do anything to gain his protection… And you can't do anything to lose it. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are already resting in the secret place… And you are already dwelling under the shadow of the Almighty. Feature Segment: 5 Ways to $5K I was speaking at a seminar in the Midwest, and afterward was answering questions from people in the audience. As we stood around talking, Jake shuffled forward, cleared his throat and said, “I have a question.” His question is the genesis for this weeks episode. “I am a professional airline pilot,” Jake said. “I really want to create a business doesn't require me to be away from home so much, yet I'm very nervous about. I need to make at least $3000 a month.” I stood there looking at him, shocked. That was all? Here is a man who commandeers jumbo jets for a living, and he was doubtful about being able to generate $3000 a month online? I told Jake that his goal was easy, and he needed to set his sights higher. And spent the next half hour so giving him some of the ideas am about to share with you. Is $5K  the Magic Number? Visit any popular online marketing form, and you'll find a similar theme: many people chasing after that elusive goal of making somewhere between three and $5000 per month. That's why I've decided to focus this week's podcast on giving a boost to anyone who knows it's possible to make $5000 a month online, but so far just hasn't achieve that goal. And I'm not going to stop at just one plan, instead I'm going to give you five proven ways to make $5000 a month online. And, since I love alliteration, each one is going to start with the letter F (for “five”). Let's get right to it. Five Ways To 5K 1. Fulfill the need for information. This is probably the way you are most familiar with-creating and selling your own information products. Most people don't realize the value of what they already know. There is money to be made in the subjects about which you know a lot, and others know very little. Choose your topic carefully, and you could easily become wealthy. Think about the topic areas that have already created fortunes for information marketers: How to make money How to save money How to save time How to lose weight How to gain muscle … I think you get the idea. So how do you pursue this particular method of making $5000 per month? Just start brainstorming your own interests, talents, and gifts. You're looking for a topic that has three “intersection points”: Your talent, skill, or knowledge What other people are interested in What other people will pay money for Once you have zeroed in on a topic, here are the steps to take to get your online information marketing business set up: Research the viability of your product. Scope out your competition and create the premier product in the topic. Create your product. Set up your website. (At the very least, you need four pages: the value invitation page, the value delivery page, sales page, and the product delivery page) Set up your follow-up system. 2. Find great bargains and resell them. This is one of the fastest ways to make money online, most people overlook it. That's because it's not glamorous. But if you can find great bargains on physical items, you can resell them on eBay or craigslist at a substantial markup. There are many, many people who make much more than $5000 a month selling boring items on eBay. 3. Focus on providing a service. In my opinion, this is the fastest and easiest way to start making money online. Figure out what skill comes easily to you (copywriting, Web design, technical stuff like setting up blogs, etc.) and offer those services to other people. This is the online version of a lawnmowing business. There are plenty of people who have more money than time, or more money than skill, and they are willing to pay very good fees to people who can do this kind of work for them. This is a great way to get started. 4. Fix and flip existing websites. This can be a lot of fun, and the concept is pretty easy to understand. Just like the TV show, “Flip This House”, you are simply looking for property that is undervalued. You want to find a website that offers a good product, but does a poor job presenting their product. A website that, with a few tweaks to the look and feel, and the sales copy, you can improve significantly. Then you can either choose to continue raking in the money from that website, or you can sell it to someone else at huge profit. 5. Finish old projects. Many marketers and entrepreneurs I know have a lot of “partially done” or even “mostly done” products or websites languishing on their hard drive. What if you just picked a week, blocked out your schedule, and vowed to finish those projects? Get that last 10 to 20% of the work done, and get them online? For many people, simply finishing the projects you've already started can automatically push you over the $5000 per month income level. There Are More Possibilities These are only five ways to make $5000 per month. There are dozens upon dozens of other ways to do it. These may not even be the top five ways (although I did try to select them based on the criteria). Certainly, different people will have a different way of deciding what the “top five ways” might be. My point in doing this week's podcast was really not to convince you to use a specific method, but rather to open your eyes to the possibilities that are already there. Are You Stepping Over Money? Sometimes I feel as though people are walking around, crunching under their feet a three-foot layer of silver dollars, and whining about not having any money. My whole purpose is to get you to look down, see the money on the ground, and start scooping it up. Think about Jake. A supremely qualified professional, who every day has dozens of people, perhaps hundreds of people, placed their lives in his hands with total trust… Yet he could not envision himself making $3000 a month. I think we can agree his challenge was not in a lack of skill, it was in the lack of belief and direction. Hopefully, you now have both. Now go change the world Listener Calls We heard from these  listeners this week. Your Feedback Do you have an idea for a podcast you would like to hear?
