On today's episode of One Cross Radio, we're sharing an episode we got to be a guest on over on the Monster Island Film Vault earlier this year!  To cover all bases and links, I'ma hit you with the summary from the original episode! Hope you enjoy, and God bless my friends! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, Kaiju Lovers! “Ameri-kaiju” continues with a bit of an unusual entry; one that, serendipitously, Nate also covered around the same time on his other podcast, The Power Trip: the controversial Power Rangers (2017). While Nate has grown to appreciate this film quite a bit, he intentionally brought on Chris Cooke (co-host of One Cross Radio, Radio Arcade, and Powerbombs and Piledrivers) to discuss it because he does not. However, these two find more common ground than you'd think. That was surprisingly true in today's Toku Topic, which is a discussion of representation in media. This serves as a great companion to the Power Trip episode. Before today's broadcast, Nate entered his office to find sitting in his chair none other than Mr. Gold. After a thinly veiled threat of “termination,” Nate divulges a secret about Jimmy to him. Afterward, the infamous “Not-Goldar” attacks Monster Island out of nowhere—but help arrives in the form of a newly powered-up Karone! But even Nate, Chris, and Jimmy get in on the monster-fighting action thanks to Mechani-Kong Mk. 2. The prologue and epilogue, “With Friends Like You,” was written by Nathan Marchand with Michael Hamilton. Guest Cast Michael Hamilton as Mr. Gold Celeste Mora as Karone Additional music: “Evil Rising” by David Fesliyan “Pacific Rim,” “Power Rangers Lost Galaxy,” and “Go, Go, Power Rangers” by Niall Stenson “Chant My Name!” by Masaaki Endo Sound effects sourced from Freesound.org, including those by InspectorJ. Check out Nathan's spinoff podcasts, The Henshin Men and The Power Trip. We'd like to give a shout-out to our MIFV MAX patrons Travis Alexander; Danny DiManna (author/creator of the Godzilla Novelization Project); Eli Harris (elizilla13); Chris Cooke (host of One Cross Radio); Bex from Redeemed Otaku; Damon Noyes, The Cel Cast, TofuFury, Eric Anderson of Nerd Chapel, Ted Williams, Wynja the Ninja, Brad “Batman” Eddleman, Christopher Riner, and The Indiscrite One! However, John Goodman is terrifying as the “captor” and the film is extremely tense.  The marketing was also remarkable. In addition to the usual posters and trailer the producers set up an elaborate viral treasure hunt style game to suck fans into following clues to find Howard's bunker where the film takes place.    About Two Geeks and A Marketing Podcast    Hosted by the two geeks, Roger Edwards and Pascal Fintoni, to keep you up to date with the latest news, tech, content and wisdom from the world of marketing.  Roger is a man on a mission to keep marketing simple. That's That: A Philip Seymour Hoffman Retrospective

Tim and Luis discuss the 2002 drama/comedy Love Liza, currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Why? Because this is possibly the most underrated PSH film and performance in the Hoff-canon. Where did Gordy Hoffman get the idea for this film? Is this podcast actually very famous? What role does humor play in grief? Did Joaquin Phoenix steal Phil's laugh for his Joker?! Is Hoffman an ACTUAL everyman? How does PSH nail every scene? How does he keep us on his side always? Why does Luis write? All that and more in this twelfth episode of "That's That: A Philip Seymour Hoffman Retrospective Podcast." This episode's guest is friend, playwright, and collaborator Luis Roberto Herrera. Check out his podcast, Unheard Voices (those messages and yearnings we miss when we don't pick up our phone). You can also find him on the New Play Exchange. And of course: please watch Tim and Luis' Sundance rejected short film Wren & Lin. "That's That" is sponsored by One County Film Company, produced and hosted by Timothy Mark Davis, edited by Ryan Arnst, with show music composed by Jessica Rae Huber, and artwork by Drew Hanagen. Additional music from Yehezkel Raz and Oak and Cherry. You can watch Gordy Hoffman's screenwriting videos with Film Courage here. Our next episode is on the 2002 horror/thriller Red Dragon, currently streaming on Netflix. Our guest will be friend and very serious film critic, Joe Ruehlmann.

Hey, welcome to The Art of Being Dar, with your host, me Dar Dixon. This is from an interview that I did with a YouTube channel called Film Courage. Film Courage is on YouTube. Not only are they cool people, but it's an amazing channel with amazing content. If you have any desires to be in Hollywood and learn more about acting, directing, producing, storytelling, script breakdown, the writing process, even music, you name it. That's the channel I'd go to. You'd be well served to go there. Go over there and check them out. Subscribe to their channel. They're great people. I love them.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is from a clip that I did with them last year in 2019. I went in there and I thought I was gonna talk about acting, my Hollywood experience, my career, art, the process of character development, you know, all that kind of typical stuff. And the first question out of the gate turned this entire interview into something that I was not expecting at all. And actually, I loved. It was a really “Life is Art & Art is Life” moment, and I'll explain more about that in a subsequent clip. But in this one here, this is what I found with my own research and my own study, to be the most common trait found in all successful people. Whether they're artists, businesspeople, you name it. And I'm pretty sure it's not what you think it is. Let's give it a listen. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - http://amzn.to/2tbtmOq AUDIO Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post http://amzn.to/2t1n2hx Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - http://amzn.to/2tbFlM9 LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - http://amzn.to/2u5UnHv COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - http://amzn.to/2t1M67Z EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - https://goo.gl/56LnpM *These are affiliate links, by using them you can help support this channel.
