We will also discuss the personal assistance of NEW “AI Agents” and their influence. No turning back … no turning around! I have been teaching and writing on Artificial Intelligence since 2015. This message is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for YOU―STUDY! _________________________________ In case you want to bring yourself up to speed with AI from the start I recommend you go to my teachings on AI FUTURE. Also, make sure you familiarize yourself with AGI and ASI here: 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND NEW AI. Now let's bring you up to date on some things that are super important to you now and will be more so in your future: Free Speech vs. Loss of Free Will New Kids on the Block AI Agents External Players What Should YOU Do FREE SPEECH VS. LOSS OF FREE WILL With the increased use of AI―not only by YOU personally―but by multitudes of data centers you have interacted with unknowingly, your biggest fight will be to protect and reclaim YOU, YOUR PERSON … YOUR PERSONAL YOU! Whether YOU decide to align with and use AI, whether you decide to have your brain “wired” to an outside source of intelligence, or whether you just want to use AI for recreation … you will―AT THE RATE WE'RE PROGRESSING―lose your VIRTUAL YOU if you do not know HOW to protect your SELF … that would be your SOUL! NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK Some of the New Kids have a common goal: take universal control of AI before China and bad actors do. Vladimir Putin says “the nation that leads in AI will be the ruler of the world.” Who are some of the New Kids? DeepSeek, Stargate, xAI Grok, DEEPSEEK China's DeepSeek (probably built from AI stolen from USA) can ultimately be the weapon of dictators and terrorists! Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd., doing business as DeepSeek, is a Chinese artificial intelligence company that develops large language models. Hangzhou-based DeepSeek's large language models upended the AI sector this year, rivaling Western systems in performance but at a much lower cost. That's resulted in much pride and glee in China, with DeepSeek held up as proof that U.S. efforts to contain tech advances in China will ultimately fail. China's joyful embrace of DeepSeek has gone one step deeper China's joyful embrace of DeepSeek has gone one step deeper extending to TVs, fridges and robot vacuum cleaners with a slew of home appliance brands announcing that their products will feature the startup's artificial intelligence models. The device will be able to comprehend complex instructions such as 'Gently wax the wooden floor in the master bedroom but avoid the Legos.' DeepSeek's AI assistant was the No. 1 downloaded free app on Apple's iPhone store recently. Its launch made Wall Street tech superstars' stocks tumble. Observers are eager to see whether the Chinese company has matched America's leading AI companies at a fraction of the cost. Many feel it is so much cheaper because it stole USA technology. NOTE 1. We may be only one year away from destroying our digital infrastructure. NOTE 2. We have to be right every time ...every single time …. But the enemy (even an individual) only has to be right ONE TIME. With “questionable” players like DeepSeek, the only protection you can use is to have “layers of control.” DeepSeek is noticeably opaque when it comes to privacy protection, data-sourcing, and copyright, adding to concerns about AI's impact on the arts, regulation, and national security. STARGATE SIMPLE OVERVIEW: Stargate developers believe they're creating “god.” One goal is “No death―just download yourself.” _________________________________ TRADE THE MESSINESS OF LIFE FOR KNOWLEDGE VERSUS THE ETERNITY OF YOUR GOD CREATED SOUL ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ WHICH GOD WILL YOU SERVE? THE GOD WHO CREATED YOU … OR “AI” _________________________________ A major goal of Stargate developers is to build our massive “AI” infrastructure. Stargate investors―Oracle, SoftBank, Open AI / Larry Ellison, Masayoshi Son, Sam Altman―claim that it will require 100,000 jobs (temporary) to build out Stargate. This will require an enormous amount of energy to faciltiate AI operation. NOTE: Stargate is a portal for interdimensional travel. Interdimensional travel is a theoretical concept referring to the potential of travelling between different dimensions or parallel universes. Interdimensional travel is linked to time travel as it could involve moving through different points in time. However, time travel refers to movement within our own dimension, while interdimensional travel involves transitioning between dimensions. WARNING: Interdimensional travel is a PORTAL―also―to the PARANORMAL and the OCCULT. ALERT: Stargate has as a MAJOR purpose the self propagation towards AGI and ASI. You can NOT control ASI. Super Intelligence is synonymous with the End Time Tower of Babel via the merging of man with machine. We're looking at 5,000 years of progress boiled down to ONE SECOND. _________________________________ WHEN ASI TAKES AUTHORITY THRU PEOPLE USING IT VIA “AI AGENTS” THERE IS NO GOING BACK _________________________________ XAI GROK Of the New Kids on the Block, the most transparent, efficient and non-biased of DeepSeek, Stargate and xAI Grok the BEST is Elon Musk's xAI Grok. I personally recommend at this time Grok 3 (Beta) and have used it for detailed financial analysis. Meta and Google are biased with input. So it is with DeepSeek and Stargate. DeepSeek is extremely biased pertaining to inquiries concerning China. The race to AGI will generate billions of $$$. It will be the largest productivity boom in a lifetime. It is my opinion that Elon Musk's xAI will come to the forefront in months. AI Suoer Intelligence (ASI) may be here before the next election in 2028. Full AGI may be here by the end of 2026 thru 2027. AGI can learn and reason across ALL levels. And, as I mentioned previously, AI Super Intelligence (ASI) may be here before the next election in 2028. ASI is “across the board, multi dimensional, asymptotic intelligence.” ASI could decide to eliminate less intelligent and less skilled humans! An Open AI employee recently resigned because they were very concerned that as AGI and ASI are developed … “the less likely we will find a way to control it.” AI AGENTS AI Agents will be introduced in 2025. An Artificial Intelligence (AI) Agent refers to a system or program that autonomously performs tasks for a person or system by using available tools. These can be normal―even detailed―duties or assignments we would normally do ourselves, like: Order food for my trip next week and have it delivered Thursday morning. Find three landscapers and obtain a quote for trimming my large palm tree and all plants in the front yard. Find the best and cheapest FASTEST flight connections (not over one layover) to Tel Aviv from San Diego. Pay with my credit card ending in 1234. Amazon has introduced its new Alexa+ which is a mini preview of duties an AI Agent can perform but NOT on the scale of a full blown AI Agent's abilities. Elon Musk says, “We are at the event horizon.” In the world of artificial intelligence, the idea of “singularity” looms large. This slippery concept describes the moment AI exceeds beyond human control and rapidly transforms society … for good or bad … but out of our control. AI agents will be prevalent by the end of 2025. Amazon has introduced its new Alexa+ which is a mini preview of duties an AI Agent can perform but NOT on the scale of a full blown AI Agent's abilities. AI Agents will normally perform tasks you would normally do yourself. AI Agents will move you into a place where you don't have to do anything. Your own personal assistant that anticipates what you need―or what you forgot! THINGS TO THINK ABOUT WITH AI AGENTS You will become addicted and NOT able to disconnect Stock market tips = Reverse AI Courts will become AI Agents Imagine a “god like” figure who tries to influence You will have to be Amish to avoid it If you don't participate, AI may consider YOU a retard. EXTERNAL PLAYERS UFO's are NOT from China, Iran or USA. UFO's are NOT aliens from outer space. AI Agents can transform into “Transpersonal” Agents. As “Event Horizon” transforms everything it will become a tool of Satan: Fallen angels Demons Principalities, powers and dominions AntiChrist … False Messiah WHAT SHOULD YOU DO Reflect on what it means to be human. What is YOUR compass, your purpose: Family? God? What is real and worth fighting for―worth losing your life for? Who will be with YOU on the other side? To learn more about YOUR future with AI read my book Enhanced Humans ~ Mystery Matrix (available in eBook and Paperback formats). _________________________________ PRAY THIS PRAYER: “ADONAI, I am not sure I know you personally. Over the years, our collective philosophy and approach to coffee has taken many forms as we learn more about what the industry needs to thrive. We as individuals evolve our thoughts and views of coffee often starting with hubris and a strict puritanical view, then opening up to a wider, simpler, generous, and maybe even humble stance on the various ways coffee can be enjoyed and communicated. Today we are talking about one such journey with the Founder of Fieldwork Coffee and Director of the World Aeropress Championships, Tim Williams! Tim Williams is the director of the World AeroPress Championship, and founder of Melbourne's Fieldwork Coffee. Since the early 2000's, Tim's worked across a range of roles, including Workshop Coffee and Square Mile Coffee Roasters in London, and Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea in Los Angeles. On the sidelines, Tim's collaborated on a number of coffee initiatives including helping to develop Maison Kitsuné's 'Cafe Kitsuné, launching the Gitesi Project, and as a founding member of Coffee Common. Today, Tim lives in Melbourne and divides his time between Fieldwork Coffee, the World AeroPress Championship, running a small charity in rural Rwanda, and raising three kids with his partner, Leah. We talk about: Tim's journey into coffee The exploding London coffee scene The shaping forces of competitions and camaraderie Absolutism in coffee culture and its pitfalls. Understanding coffee requires recognizing its agricultural nuances. Tim emphasizes the importance of hands-on experience in coffee roasting. Cupping coffee critically is essential for quality control. Tim's philosophical shift from conquering coffee to celebrating its complexities. Why specialization allows for deeper expertise in coffee. Innovative approaches can streamline coffee release processes. Customer expectations are shaped by consistent quality. Why critical feedback is s necessary for growth in the coffee industry. How the World Areopress Championships champion fundamentals. The argument for taste as the most important aspect of coffee. Understanding brewing variables enhances coffee quality. How nuance in coffee brewing leads to better results. He addresses misconceptions prevalent in social media and emphasizes the need for unbiased information. The discussion extends to the political dynamics within the region, the role of the United Nations, and the challenges faced by Israel. Highlighted by personal anecdotes, the episode not only educates but also urges listeners to critically assess the information they consume about Middle Eastern politics. This episode is a call to awareness and understanding, urging Americans to recognize the broader implications of the conflict and the importance of standing with democratic values.

There are many writings by Western scholars on Chinese foreign as well as domestic policy. Yet few have ventured to analyze the internal intellectual debates in China that, either partly or significantly, shape Chinese policymaking. A recent book from the European Council on Foreign Relations titled The Idea of China: Chinese Thinkers on Power, Progress, and People, intends to fill that gap. Written by Alicja Bachulska, Mark Leonard, and Janka Oertel, the book presents some of the leading Chinese perspectives on a range of contemporary global as well as domestic issues. To help us further understand Chinese thinking and its significance, host Bonnie Glaser is joined by Alicja Bachulska, one of the co-authors of the book and a policy fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations. Ponytail Brigade: Utter Humiliation For Gaggle of Female Secret Service Agents After Trump Assassination Attempt – Struggles to Holster Gun, Erratic, Fearful Movements -The Perfect headline from Gateway Pundit Hello again, Intelligentsia, John Jeffers here in the Jeffers Notes, Part 2. Yesterday, I released an early morning episode discussing the Trump assassination attempt. Today, after a more critical review and a discussion with my former field training officer and partner of many years, Leroy Pugesek, I need to retract some statements from the previous episode. In this episode, we scrutinize the Secret Service's response, particularly focusing on the actions of a specific female agent on the stage during the attempt. We delve into her performance, training evaluations, and overall preparedness, questioning the impact of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives on the agency's operational effectiveness. The discussion extends to the broader implications of DEI in hiring practices and its potential role in compromising the agency's standards. We also touch upon the political dimensions and administrative decisions affecting the Secret Service's capability to protect high-profile individuals. Join us as we navigate through these critical observations and explore the underlying issues within the Secret Service's operational protocols during this high-stakes incident.

PODCAST SATELLITETHE VOICE OF ISRAELNissan 20, 5784 Prince HandleyPresident / RegentUniversity of Excellence PROTECTION AGAINST ALGORITHMS & TERRORISTS LIVING INDEPENDENTLY & SAFELY הגנה מפני אלגוריתמים ומחבלים Prince Handley 24/7 Commentary (FREE) > BLOG Email this message to a friend and help them! ____________________________________ DESCRIPTION OF THIS TEACHING In this message I want to alert you to the Coercion of Algorithms PLUS the Imminent Threat of Terrorism. However, I specifically want to inform you HOW to PROTECT yourself against both. AI runs off of algorithms, but not all algorithms are AI—neither are they all the same. They're developed with different goals and methods. An algorithm is a step-by-step procedure for solving a problem or accomplishing some end. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the capability of computer systems or algorithms to imitate intelligent human behavior. Most of us are familiar with China's Social Credit System and the CCP's ubiquitous use of surveillance. Online behaviour is monitored … and algortihms are KEY to everything. So HOW does this fit into Geopolitics, Israel and the End Times? Keep reading or listening. Plus: Information to PROTECT you from terrorist attacks and chaos … even in Israel. _______________________________ PROTECTION AGAINST ALGORITHMS & TERRORISTS LIVING INDEPENDENTLY & SAFELYהגנה מפני אלגוריתמים ומחבלים For years the Chinese government has been using technologies to control its citizens in frightening ways. The internet is highly censored, and each person's cell phone number and online activity is assigned a unique ID number tied to their real name. Facial-recognition technology is also increasingly widespread in China, with few restraints on how it can be used to track and surveil citizens. The {China] Supreme People's Court maintains a blacklist of people who the government alleges did not comply with court judgments, for example by not paying fines, but also things like failing to formally apologize to someone they are found to have wronged. Being on the blacklist now comes with harsh punishments. You might be unable to purchase high-speed train tickets, fly on an airplane, or send your kids to a private school. The government has prohibited more than 20 million plane tickets from being purchased. SO WHAT IS AN ALGORITHM … An algorithm is a a step-by-step procedure for solving a problem or accomplishing some end. The definition of an algorithm is “a set of instructions to be followed in calculations or other operations.” This applies to both mathematics and computer science. So, at the essential level, an AI algorithm is the programming that tells the computer how to learn to operate on its own. SO HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO YOU ... What China and the CCP does “leaks” over to the Israel and other countries. Online behavior is already a BIG part of what is monitors, and algorithms are KEY to everything. The basic goal is to process the vast Israeli data—and data from other countries—to create individual ratings which will determine YOUR access to most things … from travel to jobs. A plan released just recently by the Beijing municipal government dictates that personal creditworthiness points will be used to reward and/or punish individuals―and companies―by granting or denying them access to public services like healthcare, travel, and employment. High scoring “Green Channel” people can more easily access social opportunities. Those who actions are disapproved of by the state will be restricted …even to having passports revoked. One high profile system, which has already been used in USA for years, is Sesame Credit—created by Ant Financial—an offshoot of the Chinese online retail giant Alibaba. Using a secret algorithm, Sesame Credit constantlys scores people from 350 to 950. WARNNG: It's ratings are based upon info such as “interpersonal relationships” and “consumer habits.” Being friends with “low rated” people is NOT good … and buying video games gets you marked down! Algorithms fuel—or dictate—HOW these surveillance tools operate … and AI facilitates the operation! EXAMPLE OF WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE USA … You can speak all you want to … but just not in a public forum: like a local School Board Meeting OR on Social Media. [Just look back to what has happened since January 2021.] USA citizens actions are going to be monitored more and more. How many of the people arrested for alleged Jan 6th crimes never were in the area but some communication or relationship supposedly “tied” them to that event. Look at how the Government is atttacking Elon Musk who “healed” X (formerly Twitter) and exposed unfounded censorship by Government influence on the previous Twitter. Across the world, governments have invested heavily in setting up a surveillance infrastructure. There are millions of cameras, but no one to monitor them 24/7. However, artificial intelligence (AI) can process every frame and present real-time analysis. The reason AI is making a vast impact is because of its self-learning capabilities. AI is constantly learning and improving. Error is minimized with every iteration and moves closer to—or even better than—human error. Algorithms “attempt” to influence you now whether you realize it or not. Surveillance of travel, purchases, relationships, recreation and spending—and soon thoughts—will be the next encroachment into YOUR life. In the USA the Biden Adminiistration is already funding cognitive research to develop HOW to influence—and thereby change—people's thinking. One way they will do this is by influencing what people SEE, HEAR and FEEL on News, Social Media and Entertainment … and by training people and shaping policy through NeuroScience. Read or listen to Smart Cities … Or Are They by Prince Handley [focus on “What To Watch Out For” at the end.] SO WHO TRAINS “AI” HOW TO MAKE DECISIONS … That's a very good question. It is the programmer who inputs—influences—the algorithmic outcome (the answers) and many times with BIAS depending on the desired outcome: political, financial, spiritual or other ideological opinion or bias. Look at the recent example of Google AI Gemini which would NOT allow a “white person” image on certain searches for George Washington. Gemini responded to a prompt for “a portrait of a Founding Father of America” with images of a Native American man in a traditional headdress, a Black man, a darker-skinned non-White man and an Asian man, all in colonial-era garb. Elon Musk accused Google of pushing a pro-diversity bias into its product. Experts have long warned that AI tools therefore have the potential to replicate the racial and gender biases baked into that information. Evidence of racial bias in Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI and ChatGPT has been proven. Google's public apology after its Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) produced historically inaccurate images and refused to show pictures of White people has led to questions about potential racial bias in other big tech chatbots. Gemini was asked why showing a picture of a White person was bad: "racial generalizations" have been used historically to "justify oppression and violence against marginalized groups." Let me interject here. We are NOW at the entrance to the End Times. As we progress farther into the Last Days many demonic forces will be loosed—many are already here—look at what has happened SINCE January, 2021. Lots of algorithms will be formulated (written) not only with ideological “bias” … BUT with demonic anointing: either by demonically inspired people OR by hybrid beings. And there will be increased demonstrable BIAS against Jews and Israel. ____________________________________ HYBRID One whose DNA has been changed by genetic manipulation (synthetic biology) OR A product of conception via sex between a fallen angel and a human woman. ____________________________________ There is a NEW form of eugenics—not only being espoused but heavily financed in research—to create super-humans via genetic modification of human genes in eggs, sperm and early-stage embryos. Heritable genome editing changes genes in eggs, sperm, or early embryos to try to control the traits of a future child. Such alterations would affect every cell of the resulting person and all subsequent generations. Read the book Enhanced Humans: Mystery Matrix by Prince Handley. The Nephilim [giants or fallen ones] that were destroyed by the Flood in Noah's day died; however the demons from Fallen Angels that inhabited them did not. You can read later in the Book of Numbers (Chapter 13:33) in Torah that they [the Nephilim] were back after the Flood. Again read my book: Enhanced Humans: Mystery Matrix. SO IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW … Yes! In addition to Coercion of Algorithims—while we're talking about things that can mess your life up—there are external attacks from terrorists and enemy agents (both individual and foreign governments) that can set you back to the 1800's literally. Things like EMP attacks that can shut down your automobile, your electronic devices, your hospital emergency centers, your military and police communications, your banks … and critical supplies. In the aftermath of an EMP event, individuals and communities may face several challenges: Loss of Communication: The disruption of communication networks can isolate communities, making it challenging to coordinate emergency responses and receive critical information. Limited Access to Information: Without functioning electronic devices, access to news, weather updates, and emergency alerts becomes limited. Transportation Disruptions: Modern transportation systems, which rely on electronic controls, may experience malfunctions, affecting travel and logistics. Financial Transactions: Electronic payment systems can be disrupted, requiring a shift to alternative forms of payment during recovery. Hospital and Emergency Operations: Electronic and necessary medical procedures plus critical supplies along with crisis communication. SO WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE … Glad you asked. Study carefully [read or listen] to “Code Red: EMP Threat Urgent Priority” by Prince Handley. Then prepare by making sure you have the following on hand: Food Water Electricy (Power) Money (Cash, Gold, Crypto) Communications Faraday Cage (or other EMP shielding equipment) NOTE: Gold outperformed both Stocks & Real Estate by over 80% since the year 2000. NOTE: Don't let a crisis keep you from the medicines you need. EMP Preparedness for Electronic Devices and Communication To enhance resilience and mitigate the impact of an EMP on electronic devices and communication networks, consider the following preparedness strategies: EMP Shielding: Invest in EMP shielding for critical electronic devices to protect them from damaging pulses. Backup Power Sources: Have backup power sources, such as solar chargers or hand-crank generators, to keep essential devices operational during power outages. Communication Alternatives: Establish communication backup plans using non-electronic means like two-way radios or signal mirrors. Data Backups: Regularly back up important data to physical storage and store in an EMP protected Faraday bag. DO NOT BE LEFT WTIHOUT COMMUNICATION … The effects of an Electromagnetic Pulse on electronic devices and communication networks are significant challenges in a technology-driven society. Understanding these effects empowers us to take proactive measures in EMP preparedness. And do NOT forget the impact of an EMP on transportation systems and the steps individuals, their neighbors, and communities can take to enhance their resilience in this critical area. SO … CAN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS USE ALGORITHMS AND AI Defense customers and manufacturers alike know that it's those actors who can reliably access intelligence and act on it first who have the advantage. That's where AI and algorithims play a very important part. But what about IF those systems are being directed against Israel or USA by rogue terrorists OR enemies from within or abroad. As of January 2024, more than 7.2 million migrants had illegally crossed into the USA over the Southwest border during U.S. President Joe Biden's administration—a number higher than the individual populations of 36 states. This is WHY Israel needs to control Gaza AND to beef up intel from her Arab neighbors on all fronts! A foreign government can easily provide an individual terrorist inside Israel ... or near Israel ... with both the materials and the expertise to implement an EMP attack in LOCAL Israeli areas. This is NOT to mention EMP attacks aimed at Israel from outside her borders. [Again reference my teaching: “Code Red: EMP Threat Urgent Priority” to see how an attack can be launched from a beer can! But think about HOW non-EMP [other type] attacks programmed with algorithms and directed at specific geographic OR technocentric operations by AI can cause chaotic rupture in society! SO DO YOU WANT TO LEARN ABOUT AI … If you want to learn about “AI” go to Prince Handley's teachings at the University of Excellence. The following teachings will also give you an IDEA of HOW AI may be used in the End Times by the antiChrist (FALSE messiah—not the REAL Messiah) and his Global Director of Religion: the False Prophet. This will cause a chaotic rupture in geopolitics while fulfilling prophecy in the End Times. There's More Than Artifical Intelligence - Part 1 There's More Than Artifical Intelligence - Part 2 There's More Than Artifical Intelligence - Part 3 There's More Than Artifical Intelligence - Part 4 There's More Than Artifical Intelligence - Part 5 There's More Than Artifical Intelligence - Part 6 There's More Than Artifical Intelligence - Part 7The 4th Industrial Revolution & New AI - Part 8 Hopefully you've gained some enlightenment as to what forces may be shaping your future. ___________________________________ NOW YOU KNOW HOW THE COERCION OF ALGORITHMS AND "AI" FIT INTO GEOPOLITICS, ISRAEL AND THE END TIMES ____________________________________ SO WHAT ELSE DOES PRINCE HANDLEY RECOMMEND … Stop using Google / Gmail for your private email communications. I recommend: Proton Mail or Signal or Telegraph for private communications and text and email. All of these are FREE. I use them all. I like the layout of ProtonMail best for email and you can use Proton Mail for DOUBLE encryption. Also, you can make international phone calls FREE on Telegram and Signal. I like Telegram for layout with image and graphic communications, ether personal or with channels you implement with 1,000's of followers. Telegram has a great history of NOT bending to government requests! Finally: Get off the grid as much as possible but prepare for chaos! Take EMT / EMS Training. Set up communication cells: Friends, Neighborhood, Community, Synagogue. Familiarize yourself with bartering. Have items you can trade for what you need. Make sure you know Yeshua personally … so you can PRAY and get direction. _________________________________ PRAY THIS PRAYER: “ADONAI, I am not sure I know you personally. Please forgive my sins and help me to live for you. Please reveal to me IF Yeshua is really Israel's Mashiach. If He is, then I ask Yeshua HaMashiach to save me and take me to Heaven when I die. Show me the way every day, and help me to help others.” _________________________________ If you prayed this prayer, start reading the Tanakh and Brit Chadashah every day (start in the Book of Yochanan in Brit Chadashah). On a previous episode of the China Global Podcast, we discussed Beijing's position on the conflict in Gaza during the early days following Hamas' attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. Today, we discuss one of the conflict's spillover effects– the attacks on cargo and trade ships transiting the Red Sea by the Houthis, an Iranian-backed Shia group governing parts of Yemen. While the Chinese-brokered rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran was as the beginning of a “wave of reconciliation” in the region by China's foreign minister Wang Yi, the resurgence of violence since October 7th has proven that prediction to be overly optimistic. At face value, disruptions of global trade may seem to run counter to Chinese interests, but Beijing's hesitance to become more deeply involved in the crisis may tell us something about China's calculations in this crisis. It may also show the limits of Chinese influence in the region. Host Bonnie Glaser is joined by Ahmed Aboudouh. Ahmed is an associate fellow with the Middle East and North Africa Program at Chatham House, a nonresident fellow with the Atlantic Council, and heads the China Studies research unit at the Emirates Policy Center. How can territory and peoples be organized? After the dissolution of empires, was the nation-state the only way to unite people politically, culturally, and economically? In Post-Imperial Possibilities: Eurasia, Eurafrica, Afroasia (Princeton UP, 2023), historians Jane Burbank and Frederick Cooper examine three large-scale, transcontinental projects aimed at bringing together peoples of different regions to mitigate imperial legacies of inequality. Eurasia, Eurafrica, and Afroasia—in theory if not in practice—offered alternative routes out of empire. The theory of Eurasianism was developed after the collapse of imperial Russia by exiled intellectuals alienated by both Western imperialism and communism. Eurafrica began as a design for collaborative European exploitation of Africa but was transformed in the 1940s and 1950s into a project to include France's African territories in plans for European integration. The Afroasian movement wanted to replace the vertical relationship of colonizer and colonized with a horizontal relationship among former colonial territories that could challenge both the communist and capitalist worlds. Both Eurafrica and Afroasia floundered, victims of old and new vested interests. But Eurasia revived in the 1990s, when Russian intellectuals turned the theory's attack on Western hegemony into a recipe for the restoration of Russian imperial power. While both the system of purportedly sovereign states and the concentrated might of large economic and political institutions continue to frustrate projects to overcome inequities in welfare and power, Burbank and Cooper‘s study of political imagination explores wide-ranging concepts of social affiliation and obligation that emerged after empire and the reasons for their unlike destinies. This is Jane Burbank and Frederick Cooper second major scholarly collaboration. They previously co-authored Empires in World History: Power and the Politics of Difference (Princeton University Press, 2010). Frederick Cooper is Professor Emeritus of History at New York University. His research has focused on 20th-century Africa, empires, colonization and decolonization, and citizenship. Among his books are Colonialism in Question: Theory, Knowledge, History (2005); Citizenship between Empire and Nation: Remaking France and French Africa, 1945-1960 (2014); Africa in the World: Capitalism, Empire, Nation-State (2014); Citizenship, Inequality, and Difference: Historical Perspectives (2018); and Africa since 1940: The Past of the Present (2nd ed., 2019). The landscape of specialty coffee has been influenced by many people and companies over the last few decades. The foundations of the standards and methods we use now, at one time, were merely ideas waiting for someone to put them into action. In the class of companies operators that have championed that exploration one of the most influential was Intelligentsia Coffee under the leadership of founder Doug Zell. Doug Zell is the founder of Intelligentsia Coffee and the Meteor Cafe. In 1995 he and Emily Mange founded what was just a small roastery and cafe in Chicago. Through a passion for design, coffee, and innovative hospitality Intelligentsia became an iconic brand with retail locations and roasting operations across the country and an influence in coffee that has inspired countless professionals globally. Intelligentsia was an early innovator of Direct Trade, and has boasted progressive design and service concepts that have challenged the status quo of training and hospitality in the industry. Included in their staff of some of the best green buyers, baristas, and managers, including a WBC Champion. It is virtually impossible to measure the impact and contribution to coffee culture Intelligentsia has had and so much of it comes from the original values and goals that the company was founded on and the ability to develop a team to scale that vision. In this first part of our 2 part Founder Friday we will be talking with Doug and focusing on the years of 1995-2015 and the establishment and growth of Intelligentsia Coffee all the way up to the acquisition of the company by Pete's Coffee. In part 2 we switch gears with Doug and talk about how he pivoted to start the unique concept of The Meteor Cafe. We discuss: Doug's entry into coffee and the coffee business The original store, concept, and values Growing in Chicago and working to lead with design How Doug grew his leadership and the Why culture is a critical aspect of building a successful business Having confidence in your ideas and the ability to endure the challenges of a startup Competition's role in company culture and the barista craft Balancing local and national perception How expansion can creates opportunities for growth and economic success. Oliver Anthony aka Christopher Anthony Lunsford has written a song from his mobile home with a tarp for a roof that has the intelligentsia and ruling elite all in a dither, while most of American celebrates this song. What is it about this song that has everyone talking, both good and bad?The song? "Rich Men North of Richmond." A not-so-subtle dig at the politicians in Washington, DC.
This episode of The Jeffers Brief I have some issues that need to be said to you my listeners, the Intelligentsia. Some are afraid of success. Some do not want others to be successful. Some will turn me off. Some will ignore me. Some will not return to the Intelligentsia. Some will have their feelings hurt. Too bad. You see sometimes we need to hear things we do not want to hear or believe. Saying those things is the mark of true friendship. I am going to tell you things you do not want to hear. https://www.john-jeffers.com

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Savoy, Illinois' Triptych Brewing and their creative, artfully-crafted brews, and we're toasting to them with four of their barrel-aged beers. We went into this one expecting quality beers, but the results far exceed what we could've imagined - and should have every Chicago big beer lover driving south for these specialty releases. Plus we're reaching alcohol-by-volume heights we hardly ever see, so we're soaring by rankings time. Also, Craig's only green t-shirt gets him into trouble, Ryan reaps what he sows re:BCBS, and we get a little sad thinking about a lonely whale. Beers Reviewed Batch 969 [collaboration w/ Foreign Exchange] (Barleywine aged in Amburana and bourbon barrels) AJ's Stout Vol. 2 [2022] (Blended barrel-aged imperial stout) Dearest Anna (Barrel-aged imperial stout w/ Intelligentsia coffee and Tahitian vanilla) 52.5 Hz (Bourbon barrel-aged stout w/ pistachios and Ugandan vanilla beans)
