President Biden bestowed woke Democratic megadonor George Soros and the woman who, with Barack Obama, ordered the deaths of US soldiers Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty in Benghazi, Hillary Clinton, with the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Saturday — outraging critics who ripped the selection as a “national disgrace.” To quote Hillary as she later testified about those deaths in Benghazi, “what difference does it make?” As it turns out, it makes a lot of difference, it's a huge slap in the face to American patriots, and a sign from the Deep State that nothing is going to change.

Right out of high school, the two traveled the country, hitchhiking across America via odd jobs and offbeat adventures in a quest to uncover the unbridled freedom at the heart of every American dream. Eventually, Glen would go on to enlist and serve as a Navy SEAL (where he would go on to meet our very own Mike Ritland) while Sean pivoted into the world of professional sports marketing. It was a friendship that transcended distance and profession, until Glen tragically lost his life in Benghazi in 2012. To honor Glen as the patriot he was, Sean helped found the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation, as well as co-founded BUBS Naturals, a line of collagen peptides and other all-natural supplements to help athletes of all levels perform their best. It's a cause that centers around the adventure-seeking lifestyle that Glen lived - one of pride, passion, and dutiful purpose. But how'd Sean meet Glen, anyway? What kind of avenues did they fall into while hitchhiking around the country? And when you're listed as your best friends next-of-kin, what does life become after receiving the fateful call that nobody ever wants to hear?  ---------- Support Sean Lake - Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation - https://www.glendohertyfoundation.org/ Find Out More about the Glen Doherty Memorial Road Race at - https://www.glendohertyfoundation.org/memorial-road-race Use Code MIKE for 20% Off Your First Order of BUBS Naturals at https://www.bubsnaturals.com/mike  Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/slakeo ---------- Fueled by TeamDog | www.mikeritlandco.com | @Teamdog.pet ALL THINGS MIKE RITLAND: SHOP for Fueled By Team Dog Performance Dog Food, Treats, Apparel, Accessories, and Protection dogs - MikeRitlandCo.com - https://www.MikeRitlandCo.com Team Dog Online dog training - TeamDog.pet - https://www.TeamDog.pet Learn more about your ad choices. It was one of the darkest days in the history of the U.S. State Department, and a low for the administration of Barack Obama. On September 11, 2012, the terrorist attack on the diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya resulted in the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, information officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs and CIA contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. As the attack raged on the compound, the American security apparatus misread the situation and failed the Benghazi Four in the critical hour. Brad Podliska, a former US Air Force intelligence officer, served on the House Select Committee on Benghazi. In his chat with Paul Runyan, he gives Midnight Ride listeners a blow-by-blow recap of the attack on Benghazi, as well as what the committee learned was going on back in Washington, DC, as bureaucrats failed every step of the way, including lying to the American people as to what precipitated the attack on the compound. The actions, failures, and falsehoods--whether accidental or deliberate--of Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice, and current National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan are detailed. Today, more than 10 years later, no one has been held accountable for the failures of the US government to respond to the attack. Podliska explains that, predictably, in an election year, Democrats circled the wagons to protect President Obama's reelection prospects, while Republicans narrowed the scope of their investigation to Secretary Clinton. When Podliska objected to what he called hyperpartisanship, he was relieved of his duties. Eventually, he would find himself on the cover of the New York Times, on CNN, and on FOX News with Sean Hannity. What the Benghazi Select Committee showed us was that Americans should view all congressional investigations with a healthy dose of skepticism about their impartiality. We all think we know the story of Benghazi and usually politics and who is to blame shapes that which we think we know. Lost in that sometimes is that fact that four Americans were killed; Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. Benghazi and the events of Sept 11, 2012 are difficult to understand and deserve more than a sound bite or political narrative. Chorin does this story and those men justice by taking the deep dive and gives us the history leading up to the attack, the events of that day, the aftermath and the effects of Benghazi's echo today. I hope you will all give this a read and talk about it.

9-11-2012. That was a day most red-blooded Americans will never forget. As a US Army Veteran I know I never will. That was the day we lost a US Ambassador and personal friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Ambassador Chris Stevens. We also lost a civilian contractor, Sean Smith, and two former Navy SEALs, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. All of their deaths could have been avoided, and SHOULD have. So many absolute blunders and horrible decisions were made that night, and the weeks leading up to that night, that people should have gone to prison at a minimum. Instead, it's difficult to say anyone, ANYONE, has even been held accountable, other than possibly losing an election over it.Last week the attendees of the SEHIA Conference in San Antonio had the amazing opportunity to hear a first-hand account of what really happened that night from one of the survivors, John "Tig" Tiegen. John was working as a CIA contractor, providing security for the covert CIA annex that was less than a mile away from the US Consulate that was attacked in the early evening of 9-11-12. John dispelled some rumors, confirmed others and most importantly, gave an almost minute by minute account of the cowardly actions of some, and the incredibly heroic actions of others, as that fateful night unfolded. How did the United States, with the most powerful military in the world, a massive intelligence apparatus, political and economic influence in every corner of the world and an intimate understanding of terror groups not be fully prepared to defend our strategic assets, let alone a US Ambassador, on the anniversary of 9-11?Above all else, all of us need to ask ourselves "What kind of leaders, political or military, would abandon their own citizens?" On September 11th and September 12th, 2012, members of an Islamic militant group in Libya known as Ansar al-Sharia attacked the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi and a CIA annex approximately one mile away. The attack resulted in the deaths of U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens, US Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and CIA contractors Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty. In the US-centric lexicon, ‘Benghazi’ has become synonymous with a series of investigations into then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. And Clinton and the Obama administration are responsible for the chaos in Libya, but not in the manner peddled by conservatives. As in the rise of Islamist militias in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia, the attack in Benghazi is an example of the United States reaping what it has sown by supporting reactionary rebels in a foreign country. What really happened in Benghazi? And how is it tied to U.S. imperialism in Libya? Hopefully — by the end of this episode — the answers to those questions become more transparent for us. The Battle of Benghazi: On September 11, 2011, Islamic militants attacked the American Diplomatic Compound in Benghazi, Libya. Quiet and precise, Tig was the most experienced Annex Security Team member. Defying a stand down order, he along with his team, rushed into burning buildings to defend the Consulate and fought arm-in-arm in defense of the Annex, holding off the radical Islamic terrorist until CIA employees could be safely evacuated. No American forces showed up to assist the security team during those 13 hours of combat and four Americans lost their lives; Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both former Navy Seals. If not for the heroic acts of Tig and his team that number would be much greater. Tig personally saved the lives of many of his team and was paramount in rescuing over two dozen others. He received the Award for Heroism and Valor for his bravery that night. Tig teamed up with other members of the Annex Security Team and New York Times best-selling author, Mitchell Zuckoff, to write 13 Hour: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi. “We wanted to honor Bub and Rone by making sure their story—our story—was told and not by the media or politicians in Washington but by those of us who fought alongside them,” Tig stated. In 2015, the book was made into a movie. In 1999, while stationed in Twentynine Palms, California, Tig met his wife Margaret, a native Texan from San Antonio who was in the United States Army. Margaret served in the military for four years before also becoming a contractor. The two have been married for 19 years and are the proud parents to two six-year-old twins. Michael Wolf - Benghazi Blues, or the Ballad of Sean Smith - In this episode, Pete A Turner is joined by Michael Wolf, a political pundit and a musician who loves the blues. Michael Wolf’s nephew was killed in the 2012 Benghazi attacks on American facilities in Libya. In that attack, the US lost Ambassador Christopher Stevens, along with Navy SEALs Ty Woods and Glen Doherty.  Unhappy with the results of several investigations and the actions of the US government, Michael decided to do something about it and sparked an investigation. Along with former US representative Frank Wolf, they established a select committee to investigate and report on the attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Their story was captured in the movie 13 Hours. Ultimately, the Benghazi situation remains unresolved and nothing will bring back the 4 men that lost their lives and Michael has no problem calling out those responsible. Michael Wolf is also a music lover, he has a blues band called “The Instigators” and we hear his thoughts on how music has evolved in the past years and how young people start to embrace blues once more. Ambassador Rice was criticized and accused of misleading the public for describing the attack as arising from spontaneous demonstrations after it was later learned that it was a planned terrorist attack. During this podcast, Ambassador Rice discusses her explanation of the Benghazi attack, and reveals the personal toll the criticism had on her family including her young daughter. Ambassador Rice also talks about what she feels were the successes and failures of the Obama Administration. As the Director of Sports Marketing for DC Shoes, Sean launched the brand’s first snowboarding division, and jobs like consulting for the X Games have allowed him to stay close to the sport he loves.  A seasoned marketing pro, having worked with major brands like Converse and consulted on events ranging from SXSW to Art Basel, Sean has found another way to spike his heart rate in recent years—and his new company is the perfect supplement.   Today, Sean is the co-founder of BUBS Naturals, the maker of industry-leading collagen protein powder and MCT oil powder products. The body and brain benefits that drive these high-quality supplements have been especially handy for Sean, who these days is more likely to be found banging out burpees than bombing black diamonds. But not all of the heavy lifting is done in the CrossFit gym. Sean, along with BUBS Naturals co-founder TJ Ferrara, didn’t just want to start another company—they wanted to do something unprecedented.    They’d researched the best-in-class certified B corporations like Patagonia and other charitable-minded companies like Toms—and they figured they could do better. Not long after that, BUBS Naturals was born, with 10% of every sale donated to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit that helps special operations professionals from all branches of the military succeed in civilian life.    There’s a reason they chose the GDMF. The foundation serves to help U.S. vets find support in society and rely less on the same kind of military contracting jobs that lured Glen back into the field. Sean and TJ named BUBS Naturals in Glen’s honor and run the company around a strict moral code modeled on Glen’s own—starting with a relentless commitment to self improvement and helping others.   That doesn’t make it any easier to grow a startup, especially one that donates 10% of each sale to charity. Furthermore, each year BUBS Naturals donates 100% of all Veterans Day sales to the GDMF. “Greg, Greg, we are under attack,” were the last words from Ambassador John Christopher Stevens to his deputy Greg Hicks over the phone from Benghazi office shortly after the attack began around 9:30 p.m. “If you don’t get here we are going to die,” the radio operator at the tactical operations center in Benghazi pronounced on the radio from the improvised consulate. Glen ”Bub” Doherty was part of the quick reaction force consisting of eight U.S. military or former military that left Tripoli in the rush to help rescue the Stevens and his colleagues at the consulate. His task was the same as the task of the 21 CIA personnel at the CIA annex one mile from where Ambassador Chris Stevens’ and the others came under attack. Glen Doherty’s Libya assignment was supposed to be his last for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He had been offered a more suitable job in the private sector that would have allowed him to get out of the line of fire. Written by Eric Sof. Americans hear the name Glen Doherty and know him as one of the brave Navy SEALs killed while contracting in Benghazi, Libya on September 11th, 2012.  To Sean Lake and Brandon though, they remember their great friend who was an avid skier and put a smile on everyone's face.  Sean, an experienced snowboarder, lived with Glen from 2010 on and acted as the executive to Glen's estate when he was killed, and on this episode we hear the story of both Brandon and Sean's reaction when they heard the devastating news of what happened to their friend that night.  Sean let this tragic event become the catalyst for making change however, when he helped to start the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation with a simple philosophy in mind borrowed from Glen's way of life, to work hard and play hard.  Glen "Bub" Doherty also became the inspiration for Bub's Naturals, a new company created by Sean that produces their own collagen protein powder.  Sean discusses the benefits of collagen, how it appeals to him as an athlete, and why it's something he could have seen Glen and himself benefiting from during their CrossFit days.  Most importantly, 10% of every sale of Bub's Naturals goes to the Glen Doherty Memoral Foundation. We also talk about the future of Hurricane Group, including charitable work we've done and what we have in the works on that end.  We also let you know what's in store for Crate Club members that you will not want to miss, and look back on the premium crate EDC med kit we did last year that was inspired by Glen.  Last, Brandon and I throat punch Drew Murray again this show for stealing Jack Murphy's work.  As always, follow us on Instagram and Twitter @SOFREPRadio, e-mail your questions to sofrep.radio@sofrep.com, and with us going back to a free format, we need your help, please leave a five star review for us on Apple Podcasts. Well there are a few more steps in-between the title of this episode. I had to bring back my guest Brandon Webb because his latest book, two in just a few months, is to important to not be talked about. Reading my advance copy of Total Focus: How to Make Better Decisions Under Pressure shifted me out of lethargy faster than anything I have read in a long time. Maybe it was timing. This show, and my guests are the best kind of therapy. Each week my perspective gets shifted, last week's show with Wayne Pernell prepared me for the impact of this one. Hopefully you have had a chance to listen to it and many of the others. They build, they shift and most of all, according to you, my listeners make thinking happen.  Seven principles laid out, each more powerful than the last. Why powerful? Their simplicity. Not that they are always simple to implement but simplicity in the Why? And you know I love the Why? question! Integrity, authenticity and most of all a driving need to share his experience to help others learn and grow is why Brandon is back on the show with an open invite anytime. So lets go into some things we cover on this show: Why front sight focus with total situational awareness is the key to success in anything you do. How you can Embrace the Suck and come out the other side. Why you need to create a yearly vision theme and how it can change everything. At the end of the day, it is the choices we make that define who we become. Let me know what choices you are making after you listen to this episode. Find me on Twitter @thelaurasteward After leaving home at age sixteen Brandon finished high school, and joined the US Navy to become a Navy SEAL.  His first permanent assignment was as a helicopter Aircrew Search & Rescue (SAR) swimmer and Aviation Warfare Systems Operator with HS-6. In 1997 his Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) package was approved. He would class up with over 200 students in BUD/S class 215, and go on to complete the training as 1 of 23 originals. As a SEAL he served with SEAL Team 3, Naval Special Warfare Group One (NSWG-1) Training Detachment sniper cell, and completed his last tour at the Naval Special Warfare Center (NSWC) sniper course where he served as the Naval Special Warfare west coast sniper course manager. Throughout his career he completed four deployments to the Middle East, one to Afghanistan and would later go back to Iraq in 2006-7 as a paramilitary contractor. His proudest accomplishment in the military was working as the SEAL sniper course manager, a schoolhouse that has produced some of the deadliest snipers in US military history. An accomplished and proven leader, Brandon was meritoriously promoted to E-6 while serving as an advanced sniper instructor at NSWG-1, and was recommended and promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7) his first time eligible while at the sniper course. He has received numerous distinguished service awards including the Presidential Unit Citation (personally awarded to him by President George W. Bush), and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal with “V” device for valor in combat. Webb ended his Navy career early after over a decade of service in order to spend more time with his children and focus on entrepreneurship (both his parents were small business owners). Today Brandon is focused on building his media and ecommerce business. He is the founder and CEO of the Hurricane Group, a U.S. & European based media and ecommerce company focusing on military entertainment, news, and monthly clubs. Brandon is regularly featured in the media as a military and business subject matter expert. He has contributed to ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s Today Show, FOX news, CNN, the BBC, SIRIUS XM, MSNBC, and The New York Times. Webb is a New York Times bestselling author.
