What happens, at a psychological level, when a person develops a close relationship with AI? Can AI love them back? And what does this attachment reveal about human desire, projection and responsibility?A groundbreaking study into the ethical and psychological implications of human-AI relationships, AI Intimacy and Psychoanalysis by Dr Agnieszka Piotrowska, academic, writer and filmmaker – addresses the hugely topical, but hardly new, question of our emotional bonds with machines. To find out more about this I caught up with Dr Agnieszka Piotrowska when she was recently in Dublin.Agnieszka talks about her background, her new book, Freud, AI models and more.About Agnieszka Piotrowska:Agnieszka Piotrowska, PhD, is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, trained psychologist, and psychoanalytic life coach. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and supervises doctoral students at Oxford Brookes University and the University of Staffordshire. Her documentary work includes Married to the Eiffel Tower ( 2008), a critically acclaimed and internationally broadcast film exploring unconventional human attachments, which established her international reputation as a filmmaker working at the intersection of psychology and human experience. She is the author of The Cinema of Agnieszka Holland: Anger and Ethics (Routledge, 2026), Psychoanalysis and Ethics in Documentary Film (Routledge, 2014 & 2023), and The Nasty Woman and the Neo-Femme Fatale in Contemporary Cinema (Routledge, 2019).
You sit down on Sunday night and promise yourself that this is the week. You'll journal every trade. You'll wait for your setups. You'll follow the plan. And by Wednesday, it's quietly gone — and you're calling yourself lazy and undisciplined all over again. It was never about willpower. In this episode I ask a harder question: did you ever actually want the work, or did you only want what the work was supposed to give you? Wishing and wanting feel like the same thing from where you're standing, and trading is uniquely good at hiding the difference. No boss. No hours. No one watching. And a scoreboard that lies to you in the short term. We talk about why following through is so much harder in this profession than in any other, why being hard on yourself has never once changed your behavior, and what actually rewires the way you respond at the screen. You'll also leave with one practical change you can make this week — something that gives you a way to win on the days the market gives you nothing. Next week: what it really means to keep your word to yourself. You sit down to trade and watch yourself do the same thing again — hesitate on a clean setup, cut a winner short, grind long past the point of usefulness — and afterward you call it a discipline problem and promise to try harder tomorrow. But what if it was never a bad habit at all? In this episode of the Confidence in Trading Podcast, Agnieszka Wood opens a new arc on the Trader's Identity: the behaviors sabotaging your trading are really identities you built long ago to survive something difficult — and they quietly run you now, while you're trying to trade. You'll learn what a “stuck identity” actually is, where these identities come from (and why they were never a flaw), and why trading is the one place they reliably take the chair. Agnieszka introduces three that show up again and again — the Perfectionist, who can't allow itself to be wrong; the Hard Worker, who believes more effort is always the answer; and the Victim, who stays braced and carries it all alone — and shows why the first move is never to fight the behavior, but to recognize the identity underneath it. This is the heart of her Compassionate Discipline™ approach. If the calm, clear trader you are in the morning isn't the one who shows up when it counts, this episode will help you see why — and what to do instead of forcing. Each of these three identities gets its own deep dive on the blog in the weeks ahead. To get them as they come out, join the free newsletter at aheadcoach.com. O trendach w odpoczywaniu, opowie trenerka odporności psychicznej Agnieszka Michalska-Rechowicz.
There's a particular kind of trader Agnieszka Wood keeps meeting, and for years she was that trader herself. This is someone who has done the work — taken the courses, read the books, and can explain risk management so clearly you'd assume they taught it for a living — and who then sits down at their own screen and exits a winner too early out of fear, or breaks the exact rule they reviewed in their journal that very morning. The knowledge is genuinely there, which is what makes the question that follows so confusing: I know better than this, so why did I just do that? In Episode 82, Agnieszka sits inside that gap between knowing and doing, and looks at why reaching for the old high-achiever's move — learn more, study harder, add more rules — never seems to close it. Drawing on her own years in NLP and performance psychology, and on what she's watched genuinely change the traders she works with, she explores why what a trader knows and what a trader does under pressure are run by two very different parts of them, and why the real shift happens in a place most traders have never been told to look. It's a grounded, compassionate episode for anyone who has ever known exactly what to do at the desk and watched themselves do the opposite anyway.

The urge to make a loss back is one of the most misunderstood experiences in trading. On the surface it looks like a discipline problem — a moment to grit through, an impulse to suppress, another rule to add to the list. But the traders Agnieszka Wood works with have usually tried all of that, and they know how quickly it stops working when the next red number lands. In Episode 81, Agnieszka walks listeners into the specific texture of the moment right after a losing trade — the tightening in the chest, the narrowing focus, the sense that there's a window closing — and shares her own years of sitting at the screen after a loss, unable to walk away, telling herself she just needed one more trade. She unpacks what's actually driving that urge, why identity and self-worth get quietly attached to the day's P&L, and how the Compassionate Discipline™ approach — built around Pause, Name, Choose — creates the space for a different kind of choice. The naming step alone, when it's specific enough, changes what's possible in the next minute. If the cycle of trying to fix a losing day with another trade is one you recognize, this is an episode worth listening to slowly. Press play when you have fifteen quiet minutes. At Data Makers Fest, a recurring theme was the tension between GenAI hype and production reality. Speakers stressed that classical ML, MLOps, evaluation, data quality, and governance remain essential—especially in regulated sectors like fintech and healthcare. Another strong theme was inclusivity: building AI that serves smaller languages, diverse communities, and practitioners beyond the English-centric ecosystem.Ryan Chaves. Head of ML at a Dutch fintech, Ryan focused on the gap between AI demos and production systems. He argued that classical ML remains critical for fraud detection and risk scoring, while GenAI works best as an accelerator on top of existing systems. He also emphasized storytelling, stakeholder communication, and mentorship as core engineering skills.Alp Öktem. Computational linguist and researcher Alp explored the imbalance between AI progress in English and low-resource languages. Through Mozilla Data Collective, he highlighted how open datasets, speech corpora, and synthetic data can expand AI access to underrepresented communities. His broader warning: fluent AI can still fail culturally, linguistically, and ethically.Agnieszka Kamińska. Working in pharmaceutical ML engineering, Agnieszka discussed extracting scientific knowledge from research documents into knowledge graphs. Her focus was reliability: LLMs help with entity extraction and relationship discovery, but trustworthy systems still require ontologies, validation layers, and production-minded engineering. She advocated a pragmatic middle ground between AI hype and skepticism.Nemanja Radojković. An MLOps engineer in finance, Nemanja reflected on how GenAI is changing software engineering itself. He argued that coding assistants improve productivity but risk weakening engineers' understanding if overused. His central point: governance, reproducibility, and platform engineering will become even more important as organizations deploy AI agents at scale.Filipa Castro. Leading AI initiatives at Euronext, Filipa described how GenAI is integrated into regulated financial workflows. Her team uses LLMs to automate document-heavy operational processes while preserving human validation. Her broader message: successful enterprise AI depends less on flashy models and more on infrastructure foundations like CI/CD, monitoring, governance, and operational rigor.Beatriz Silva. As a student volunteer pursuing a master's in data science, Beatriz represented the conference's educational and community dimension. For her, the event was about access—networking with companies, exploring thesis opportunities, and connecting academic learning with industry practice. Her perspective highlighted how conferences like Data Makers Fest help shape the next generation of AI practitioners.Connect with speakers: Ryan Chaves. Odcinek #247 w którym z Agnieszką Łopatowską w Artetece w Wojewódzkiej Bibliotece Publicznej w Krakowie siedzimy i rozmawiamy o książce ""Normandia.
This episode explores a side of trading that rarely gets talked about — the emotional and psychological cost of growth. Most traders believe the hardest part of the journey is learning how to make money. But what many discover along the way is that becoming successful in trading can also create pressure, isolation, identity shifts, and emotional distance from the people and environments that once felt familiar. In this conversation, Agnieszka explores why growth can feel emotionally uncomfortable, how the brain naturally seeks familiarity and belonging, and why traders often unconsciously pull themselves back into old patterns when progress starts happening. This episode is not just about trading psychology. It's about what happens internally when your goals, mindset, and identity begin to change.

In this episode, Agnieszka Wood takes a deeper look at why traders either exit trades too early or give profits back. She explains why this isn't an issue with strategy or execution, but a reaction to the pressure that shows up when a trade is in profit. You'll learn the three common patterns that directly impact your trading decisions and lead to frustration, second-guessing, and inconsistent results. Agnieszka also introduces the often overlooked skill of profitability—the skill that matters most if you want to succeed in trading, but one that most traders never actually develop. This episode will help you recognize what's really driving your exits and start approaching your trading decisions from a completely different perspective, so you can stop repeating the cycle of making money… and then losing it. Agnieszka Evenson helps people dig up their inner light from the layers of external programming that no longer serve them. Her work centers on face and body reading, psychosomatic awareness, and self‑leadership. She helps people understand what their bodies, faces, and habitual patterns are already communicating — and how to work with that information consciously rather than unconsciously. Most people read others instinctively. They sense things, have gut reactions, or form impressions without knowing why. When people study with Agnieszka, they learn to understand why those perceptions arise and how to use that awareness to better understand themselves, their relationships, and human behavior more broadly. When someone truly owns their body language, a deeper understanding of human nature emerges, and behavior — one's own and others' — stops being taken at face value.Find her at:https://ownyourbodylanguage.com/Support Voluntaryist Academy:Become a sponsor:https://buymeacoffee.com/jamescordinerPlease support the show:https://voluntaryistacademy.com/donate/Buy a Shirt:https://voluntaryistacademy.creator-spring.com/OGWN:https://onegreatworknetwork.com/Find the Voluntaryist Academy on the P.A.Z.NIA Radio Network! In this episode, Agnieszka takes a deeper look at why traders struggle with consistency. She explains the exact reasons why inconsistency isn't a discipline problem and breaks down how traders lose control under pressure, why they get stuck, and why trying harder only reinforces the cycle of starting over. She also explores the adrenaline driven discipline that many traders rely on to perform. You'll also learn the key reason why the mindset tools are not effective the way most traders are using them. This episode will help you approach discipline from a completely new perspective, so you can finally start building consistency in your trading without all the extra pressure. Over the last 7 years of coaching traders, one thing has been consistent: The situation changes… but the pattern comes back. In trading. In business. In life. In this episode, Agnieszka shares how the patterns she had already worked through as a trader showed up again while building her company — and how approaching them differently allowed her to expand even further. From being okay with uncertainty and making decisions without knowing if they would work… to shifting away from pushing harder for results and trusting the process… to holding boundaries, trusting her decisions, and no longer letting others influence how she feels about herself. Trading didn't just reveal these patterns once. It continues to bring them back—at a different level. Because this work is never done. It just deepens. And that's what allows you to become a better trader over time. In this episode, I explore why so many traders feel pressure to make trading work—and how that pressure changes the way they think, act, and make decisions. We look at the difference between trying to prove something and actually becoming a trader, and why this shift is essential if you want to build consistency. This is not about your strategy. It's about how you show up to the process.

Ania opowiada m.in. o swojej pasji do skakania ze spadochronem.

Is trading truly for you — or are you approaching it the wrong way?In this episode, I'm joined by Peter Robbins, a trader with over 50 years of market experience, to mark the release of his new book, The Trader's Journey. We talk about the biggest misconceptions traders hold, why focusing on money too early can slow real progress, and what it really means to treat trading as a serious profession. We explore competence, risk, execution under pressure, and the difference between wanting to trade and being prepared for what trading demands.

Most capable, ambitious traders don't struggle because they lack discipline or motivation. They struggle when pressure quietly changes how they show up.In this episode, Agnieszka explores a belief many high performers hold — “I work best under pressure” — and how that belief can shape behavior in ways traders don't always see. You'll learn:Why pressure doesn't just test discipline, but alters decision-makingHow effort and forcing can actually increase internal pressureWhat early signs of change look like before performance improvesWhy internal shifts always come before external resultsThis episode isn't about fixing yourself or adding more tools. It's about understanding what's really happening beneath the surface — and why noticing it changes everything about how you work with yourself as a trader. Curiosity is a powerful force — but in trading, it can quietly lead you into danger. When uncertainty appears, many traders feel the urge to check, push, or take one more trade to regain control. But that instinct often breaks discipline long before they realize what's happening. In this episode, Agnieszka Wood shares a real-life story and explores why the human mind is drawn toward danger instead of away from it, how imagined scenarios can drive real emotional reactions, and what this means for your trading behavior. This episode invites you to look at curiosity differently — not as a flaw, but as something that needs to be understood and guided.About Agnieszka WoodFounder and CEO of Ahead Coach, Trading Mindset Coach and TraderAgnieszka Wood, is a passionate and accomplished day trader with over a decade of hands-on experience in the financial markets. January is often framed as a fresh start — a time to push harder, tighten discipline, and finally “get it right.”But for many traders, that pressure backfires quickly. Discipline starts feeling heavy, forced, and unsustainable. In this episode, Agnieszka Wood explores why discipline isn't failing because traders lack willpower — but because it's often used as pressure instead of support. She explains why January is a particularly difficult time to force change, how internal resistance builds, and why fighting yourself leads to inconsistent execution. This episode invites traders to rethink discipline through awareness and self-trust, stop copying what everyone else is doing, and focus on what actually works for them — so consistency can return naturally.About Agnieszka WoodFounder and CEO of Ahead Coach, Trading Mindset Coach and TraderAgnieszka Wood, is a passionate and accomplished day trader with over a decade of hands-on experience in the financial markets. As the year winds down, many traders feel an uncomfortable urge to finish the year strong. One more trade. One last push. A need to finally close the loop. But that pressure often does more harm than good.In this episode, Agnieszka Wood and Greg Singleton unpack the psychology behind year-end trading pressure and the human need for closure, including why unfinished results, missed goals, and emotional loops stay so active in the mind — and why chasing a “clean ending” often undermines consistency. They also discuss a healthier way to review your trading year without pressure or self-punishment. This conversation is for traders who want to end the year clear-headed, grounded, and positioned for long-term consistency — not emotionally exhausted.
